The first version of Nxt was a single unobfuscated java class file, so argueably Nxt has never been closed. Anyone could decompile and see the source from day 1 to see how it worked. Average Joe couldn't of course but they can't read the OS either  Cheesy so it is a moot point

I don't blame you for believing the trolls, there were hordes of them, but now you know. Confirm it in the bug finding thread if you like, it pre dates official open source.

i can always / later verifiably proove that this POW chain is better than that one. By summing the work.

What makes you think the same isn't true in some POS implementations

Which POS are you criticising, an actual one or a straw man you invented?
1223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: November 26, 2014, 06:01:24 PM
Hi

Where I can find nxt price chart?
Something similar to bitcoinwisdom.com

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bter/nxtbtc

They still don't list it directly? Politics eh.

Does anyone know if Kushti published his N@S research? Would be a good time alongside Vitaliks latest
1224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Something at stake - proof of stake alternative on: November 25, 2014, 10:44:08 PM
I love these threads, always so much certainty mixed in with the vagueness  Grin

1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nothing at stake robust Pure Proof of stake on: November 25, 2014, 06:00:29 PM
Hi benjamin_bit

Are you linked to Kushti and his PoS working group?

That's why I don't buy Microsoft shares. Have you seen how many Steve Ballmer and Bill Gates have?  Shocked  Shocked

Therefore, Microsoft as a company is worth nothing and it shares should be valued at zero dollars. Don't buy Microsoft, when Ballmer decides to dump then it's bye bye Microsoft...
Like corporate life and Bitcoin/crypto can be compared... Centralized vs decentralised, jeeeez, some people..

Are you arguing the shareholders of Microsoft are centralised? You might try and construct an argument based around risk but these comments make no sense.

Both have large holders who have a big interest in seeing their organisations be successful, if only for their own self interest in maintaining their own wealth.
1227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] The Nxt Technology Tree - Nxt Development Roadmap on: November 24, 2014, 01:36:34 PM
I expected to see more activity from the usual suspects... you should start one  Grin
1228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE ALT CURRENCIES BUBBLE IS BURSTING... on: November 24, 2014, 12:16:02 PM
I think NXT popularized the IPO but the difference was NXT was giving out 5% of the total coin for a measly 1.5 BTC (at the time this was like $130?).

Come on UP, you know it was capped at 1 BTC and BCNext only asked for "a few satoshis" to determine the distribution.

And Spoetnik, you're account is only 17 months old? Which one of your account s have you been using for 2 years?  Grin Grin

It is Nxt's 1st birthday today too, no happy messages to give?  Cry
1229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] The Nxt Technology Tree - Nxt Development Roadmap on: November 24, 2014, 11:15:20 AM

Happy Birthday Nxt! Congrats to the devs and community on a successful year, the tech continues to roll on, transaction fees continue to rise and empty blocks continue to fall and we are due for some very nice releases in the next 3-4 months  Grin

+1 to everyone, including our lovely trolls  Wink

DPOS is Nxt+leased forging with a different forging algo. So says ByteMaster, core dev of Bitshares...
1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who has more integrity - Dan Metacalf / Blocknet or Spotniek? on: November 22, 2014, 08:47:58 PM
You under estimate the amount of sock puppets Spoetnik has. How else do you think he controls the narrative in his threads?   Cheesy

Abstained.
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT, the ultimate SCAM, will it die because of 100% pre-mine given to 50 people? on: November 22, 2014, 08:20:24 PM
There were some who donated many times, but there is no way to know how many.

Logic fail....  Roll Eyes Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

BTW, 101-103 (I can't remember exactly) is the true figure of initial stakeholders. Only 72 (and later 73) actually bothered to claim their stakes. I guess we should blame Nxt for that too...

Anyway, everyone knows Nxt was invented my higher intelligence aliens and passed to BCNext as their ambassador. He has gone now as he was just visiting and will return to free all humankind when the time is right...

Why the sudden interest to dig up dead threads? Huh Oh yes, that's right... Nxt has a new release around the corner.

Ok, Carry on.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

1235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we never get a topic on inflation in this section? (poll) on: November 21, 2014, 11:08:48 PM
So saying pos has no inflation is not correct either because the number of coins increases constantly.

Not all POS have inflation. Nxt had 1 billion coins at genesis and this doesn't increase. Nxt has no inflation.

Block rewards are just the transaction fees in the block (like Bitcoin and Peercoin will be once they have completed their POW phases) and no new coins minted from thin air.
1236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is happening with NXT? Fucking Nothing!!! on: November 21, 2014, 10:12:48 PM
You simply dont like when somebody turns away from your beloved NXT, do you?  Wink

It breaks my cold, black heart  Cheesy

Tell me, where do you see the future of NXT?

A different place to where we are now, nobody can predict. But there are a lot of features implemented and much much more in the pipeline >>> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=831202.0

...so hopefully things will go well.

Now your turn  Grin What is your real account? (serious and simple question, no joke or something else)
1237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is happening with NXT? Fucking Nothing!!! on: November 21, 2014, 09:40:45 PM
Would be better to buy something new and innovative.

NEM is my favorite in this manner.

Just my two cents.  Wink

Why are the majority of your posts hit and run spam promoting NEM in random threads in short spurts (or trashing other coins) and then with weeks or months in between? ...

What have you been doing for the last 5 months? Using one of your other BTT accounts?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

**NEM sockpuppet alert**    It might even be the Grand Master himself, looking at the first post Cheesy

Just my two cents.  Wink

... and my real accountname is Daedelus. Grin
I crack a joke, of course. But not posting some shit means not to be inactive.

The reason for my posting is the dissapointment about NXT.
I invested a lot in NXT when I started off with bitcoins and so on.
Now I have a big loss because of my believing in NXT's future.
Maybe you have overseen it when you went trough my old posts. I had a special affinity to NXT before I gave up.

...and obviously relying on no one else checking you post history  Grin I suppose you could argue you have a vague warmth towards Nxt (and 3 or 4 other coins), only in posts promoting NEM first of course. After starting your account to get your stake in NEM, a fresh noob out of the blue.... You crack me up  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Anyhoo enjoy NEM, the big day is soon.
1238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PoS is far inferior to PoW - why are so many people advocating switching to PoS on: November 21, 2014, 03:34:18 PM
Cunicula was most open and convincing with his criticism of the so called nothing at stake problem 10 months ago...
Unconvinced.

Unsurprised.
1239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] The Nxt Technology Tree - Nxt Development Roadmap on: November 21, 2014, 03:07:27 PM
VS = Voting System

SC/AT = Smart Contracts / Automated Transactions

AE v2 = Asset Exchange Version 2

RS  = Ruleset

JS = Judgement System

CS = Credit System

and RM = Rights Management
1240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] The Nxt Technology Tree - Nxt Development Roadmap on: November 21, 2014, 03:06:01 PM
Chuck, in which release do you plan to include smart contracts?

Not planned right now as we have too many other features already started in the pipeline and need to get them out.

So, what I can project is: not this year, not in 1.4 (MS release) and not in 1.5 (VS release).

Furthermore, features in development: Coin Shuffling, 2-Phased Transactions and Account Control. So, releases 1.6, 1.7 and 1.8 are presumably occupied by those ones to go down the safest path. Their order is not necessarily presumed and they will keep us busy until March next year.

Until that, I will think about SC/AT, AE v2, RS, JS, CS and RM.
