I have a 100MB internet connection though, but it took almost 4 hours to download the NXT blockchain. I have used blockchain.info wallet and that shit is working like a magic compared to the NXT client.
Dude, really I hope you know the difference between Nxt core client and a web based Bitcoin wallet. That's like saying, "I have used Coinbase and it works like a charm compared to BTC-qt" Anyway, I would ask for your money back if it takes you 4 hours to download Nxt blockchain on 100mb connection. I have a fraction of your connection speed on a below average laptop. I downloaded the blockchain again and NRS took 4018 seconds to start > 1h 7min. As Msin says, you aren't comparing like for like. Compare bitcoins web based wallet with Nxts web based wallet... https://wallet.mynxt.info/...for an fair comparison. Both will be very fast as there is no blockchain to download. The link above can also be used as a mobile wallet.

In case you weren't aware, multigateway supports Blackcoin, Doge, BTC and Nxt.
It is the most decentralised trading platform to date and works on three multi-sig servers approving transaction.
See Multigateway.org for more info.
Man this exchange is BS. Its not decentralized. There are 3 servers and who has access to them ? 1 person. No thx. Was that a question? Sounded like FUD. The correct answer is in the link above. I said multigateway was the most decentralised. I read the first line of holytransaction "universal crytpocurrency wallet with instant exchange". Unless they have solved the long standing problem of Atomic Cross Chain Transactions (I.e. CIYAMs Automated Transactions), this screams and writes in big red letters "100% centralised". 1 guy, a la Mintpal and Mount Gox. The three Multigateway servers are run by three different businesses that have an interest in seeing it succeed, each server has been implemented slightly differently. And you need to hack all three. If you can do that, there is no central hot wallet. Funds are spread evenly across n accounts so you might only get 0.5-10 btc? If you're capable of all that, why not just hack 1 centralised exchange and take 100's of Btc from theit hotwallet? If you know of a more decentralised way of trading between different blockchains than Multigateway, I'd like to know about it.

Vitaliks blog on Weak Subjectivity sounds like he is describing Nxt so might not be surprised if ethereum looks like Nxt too

It needs a fee, otherwise there is nothing to stop someone flooding the network with thousands/millions of bogus garbage transactions for free. The transactions won't get accepted but the network would still have to sort the good ones from the bad which does have a cost. Fees protect against spam
Nxt Smart Contracts is written in a language very similar to SQL, IIRC. On day one of launch, there will be thousands of people around the world who already have the skills to start building smart contracts and the market will decide which are worth pursuing. Smarts Contracts will be suitable for the vast majority use cases, but it isn't Turing Complete. In simple contracts is doesn't need to be.
For complex transactions, Nxt has Automated Transactions on testnet as we speak which is Turing Complete. It is written in machine code so can have compilers written in multiple higher level languages. The first being C (can't remember which) so again there with be very exerienced devs ready to go from day one.
I understood if you wanted to use ethereum then you needed to learn a custom language. There will be a few dozen people who know how to use ethereum on day one, if that is still the case. Nxt likely having a good few months head start and all the other features makes me feel ethereum will have a lot of ground to make up. It won't be unique when it finally launches.

Obviously most of you here have not seen Ethereum's smart contract tools yet. They will outgun everything else by orders of magnitude.
In what way will it outgun everything else? Because it is Turing Complete? Is it still planned to have their own language to write the contracts?

BitHalo as the developer came up with the concept. Hands up anyone who has heard of Nick Szabo? It is comments like these that made (and make, I guess) BC un-investable for me... I remember some senior devs arguing that the multipool bought x BC every day so the price was GUARANTEED to increase by y in z days (double in 180 days I think it was, vague memory..) Point out that x purchased will increase the price so unless x increases at the same rate as the price, you will have diminishing buying power so less effect on driving the price up after each daily pruchase. A few rounds of denial and step by step explanation and it would seem to be accepted... only to repeated 3 pages later This happened 4-5 times, enough to say I'm out.

Don't worry. The vote will be via Facebook and Twitter so not sure the Nxt vote would be mobilised. I don't think the calibre of candidates has come through that they expected either.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855130.msg9680136#msg9680136 You should decide which of the NXT candidates we should vote for in the final round. So that we won't split the votes. That is the first formal nomination for BCNext

BCNext currently has ZERO votes If you haven't voted in this yet, we need 15 of our loyal Nxt-official-thread-browsers to go over to.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855130.0...an nominate BCNext. Only THREE days to go! Remember, if you have nominated already then you can't do it again. We need silent members to speak up Then Nxt will have the most nominations of any crypto platform or coin in the vote: Come-from-Beyond, JL777, Jean-Luc and BCNext (if you count BCNext as a Nxter...) Then we need a decide on who is most likely to garner the most votes in the actual voting... we made our point with the nominations but we don't want to split the Nxter vote to the point where a Nxter doesn't win! A pre-vote vote is in order (consider this the pre-announcement to the pre-vote vote...)Stay tuned...

Is it normal that nxt client blockchain downloads couple of hours?
Depends on your connection, it took me an hour and a bit. Nxt is a year old and the blockchain has around 600,000 transactions in it that not only need to be downloaded, but verified too. Beware of noobs whooping about how fast they got up on running on their favourite coin. It is usually because the blockchain is 10mb and has 300 transactions in it Try to compare like for like in terms of age of coin and number of transactions in the blockchain in these cases.
