1301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Coins stolen/ Hacked be warned on: November 05, 2014, 10:57:36 AM
Now hacked through Nxt its a great shame.

You're doing it again.

Could you explain exactly how Nxt was hacked, which part of the algo is compromised that caused your hack? Please be specific.

You're welcome.

Here is another you will probably like, hot off the press:

No problem.

I PM'd an info thread to peeveepee to avoid derailing.  I don't know enough about Open Bazaar to do a comparative analysis.
1305  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay on: October 24, 2014, 01:10:27 PM
Do you guys want open bazaar specifically? or a decentralised ebay?

There are other examples of decentralized marketplaces already existing with Bitcoin too...
BitXBay
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=589578.0

And to answer your question: We want many decentralized ecosystems competing in the marketplace.

The marketplace being outside of crypto?

What is it that open bazaar will provide that other decentralised marketplaces don't, if you forgive the lazy question?

If it is the latter, then it is already here: http://nxtfreemarket.com/

If it is the former, ignore this post and continue to wait.

@Jabo38, update from Wesley on GUI progress

TL:DR
i) Wesley (GUI dev) very busy with RL work. We have two new GUI devs.
ii) Re-skin of client theme being developed by Mrv777.
iii) Monetary system confirmed by two devs now as being in version 1.4.0
iv) Due to public demand, Jones&Wesley working on a wallet.dat system for Nxt
v) A fourth GUI dev, Crimi, may be joining soon. I believe Crimi currently runs the very useful peerexplorer.com atm.
vi) Humanfractal's idea of QR login/signing seems to be in the pipeline.
vii) Having more GUI devs will speed up the releases of Nxt (and get us along the tech tree quicker  Grin)

As you may have noticed I have been absent from the forum these past few weeks. As I have said in some of my last posts, this is due to "real world commitments" (job) that are taking up all my time.

Fortunately, we already have 2 new GUI developers working on core that are doing a great job. Mrv777 is working on his theme changer, a feature that I didn’t have time to develop, and is also working on the UI for a 1.4 feature, the "monetary system".

Jones as I understand it is working on wallet.dat and a few other things. And I hear crimi may also be interested in joining the GUI developers sometime soon.

Having multiple GUI developers just makes sense, it was never good to rely on a single person (me) in the past. It should also bring new ideas and innovations, such as the QR login / signing idea from HumanFractal. And of course it will speed up development, which sometimes has to wait for GUI development before being able to test things properly (this was partly why 1.3 took so long).

Visit the Nxt Technology Tree at nxttechnologytree.com to view the features that have been implemented in Nxt and find out more about the plans for the future.

I love this tree, but is there a way to find out which devs are working on each project.  I would love to read their updates the same way James does his updates.

For core devs Jean-Luc/Mrv777/lyaffe/ChuckOne/CfB (not so much now)/might have missed someone, it is best to follow the Nxt Commits Twitter:  https://twitter.com/nxtcommit

For James type updates, Kushti and Jones each have started their own threads-

Kushti: https://nxtforum.org/general/kushti%27s-topic/

Jones: https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/the-official-jones-thought-thread/

I am not sure if Wesley has got his own thread, they work him hard on the GUI so I think he does that 24/7 now (had to give up working on Jinn to keep up)

Kushti is knee deep with another phd student, a maths professor on sabatical and CfB digging deep into the forging algo here...

https://nxtforum.org/general/nxt-forging-algorithm-simulating-approach/

... so you might not hear from him for a while. I think CfB is hoping Kushti gets a better knowledge of Transparent Forging than him so he can take a back seat on the technical side  Cheesy

Failing that, you just have to ask them  Cheesy

where can i found roadmap of features?

Exact timings of each you won't be able to pin down.

ChuckOne knows the most likely features for the next few releases, check through his recent posts on Nxtforum or maybe he will give us an update here.

Instead of continuing to troll Nxt, I decided to do some research to be more informed on my attack campaign. What I discovered was an amazing project and community.

The benefits of doing your own research  Cheesy I think you are the third troll-to-nexter that I have come across. It is heartening to see more and more people digging deeper.

The tech is cutting edge and being delivered as described since January. Anyone who has problems with the distribution haven't been keeping up with developments. The next few months should be interesting.

1.4 on the other hand will include another hard fork in order to enable the Monetary System.

Here is the description of Monetary System from the Nxt Glossary, part of the Nxt Wiki.

****

Monetary System

Monetary System will allow you to create currencies backed by NXT. New coins are created by "locking" NXTs. This could be thought as similar to “burning” Nxt but this is inaccurate as the process can be reversed. If you destroy 7% of the supply the created coins then you get 7% of the locked NXTs back. You are unable to lock more NXTs into the coin once it is created so the supply can’t be inflated. Transaction fees for coins created in the Monetary System can only be paid in NXT. To join the discussion, see the Nxtforum.org dedicated subforum at https://nxtforum.org/monetary-system/.

There is also be decentralised escrows between Nxt and new currencies that run on top of Nxt.

Anyone who wants to find out more about Nxt's features and ask questions can do so here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=831202.0

Or I this thread I guess but having a technical thread might help those who just want the raw info.
1315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NXT] Testnet for Automated Transactions (AT) - Turing Completeness for Nxt on: October 22, 2014, 12:52:47 PM
RE: Infinitie loops > ok

I have put a simple infinite loop AT program, just to prove that there is no issue with infinite loops, as many had concerns

http://5.196.1.215:5876/ATs.html

Also this " infinite loop use case" can be used for distributing coins to the forgers.
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NXT] Testnet for Automated Transactions (AT) - Turing Completeness for Nxt on: October 22, 2014, 12:51:40 PM
So far so good, ATs are live on the testnet and stable  Smiley

Hey guys,

here is a link for a public node (thanks dude for that) where you can see what is going on. I made a simple html to display some info.

http://5.196.1.215:5876/ATs.html

It is running from Sunday with no problems, and as you can see the proof of concept works. There are some things we need to address regarding the txs (maybe a core dev might help on that), and also expand the AT_API with more calls.

We want to keep the testnet small in size at the moment, until we do some stress test's and see that everything flows as expected.
1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sodom is Provoked, an Altcoin Tale; INSIDE NXT and jl777 on: October 22, 2014, 11:39:50 AM
It is one of my strategic way to let Trolls/Shills waste time, once they do, then i'll know they could be legit people with no agenda.
...
You will need to dig deeper to see this.

Why waste time and treat people differently, agenda or not? Good evidence speaks for itself. It makes more sense to lay your evidence out, point by point, and let everyone evaluate it in the open together. Stalling makes it look like you have none.

I agree the evidence shows Bluemeanie == Moneroman but it takes another huge leap to then say that Moneroman bought the BM account if there is no evidence. Until you present some, there is the same amount of evidence that the BM account was presented to Moneroman by benevolent aliens or won it in a lottery hosted by Miley Cyrus. Why should anyone believe these claims without evidence?

From the evidence we do have it is much more likely that BM and Moneroman are, and have always been, the same person > Joshua Zeidner
1318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] The Nxt Technology Tree - Nxt Development Roadmap on: October 22, 2014, 11:10:06 AM
Is Smart Contracts feature not included in the tree?

It is mid height on the left. On it's lonesome  Smiley
1319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sodom is Provoked, an Altcoin Tale; INSIDE NXT and jl777 on: October 22, 2014, 11:07:10 AM
Im not concerned about my reputation with liars and criminals, which is what you are.

Yes of course you are not, Joshua Zeidner aka bluemeanie1 sold his account in June. Now stop hiding behind a account and show your face Monero kids

Can you prove this? I have only seen this as an accusation, I like to see proof of claims.

If you only repeat accusations hoping they will stick without providing any proof then you join the ranks of Bluemeanie. Not a good place to be.

Basic logic is the proof of this if you can't see this, its not my problem. Its a fact that bluemeanie1 is moneroman88.. and if you wasn't around where he spammed the whole Altcoin forum then you need to do some research.

I saw the live post of Moneroman posting as Josh before he deleted it. I was in the thread and following at the time as he was doxxing the single mother, trying to get her fired, I referred to above.

You make claims and then push the burden of proof onto others to 'do more research'. Why not provide some evidence? Otherwise,

"Stealthcoin is a sockpuppet of bluemeanie, trying to deflect culpability for his actions. Basic logic is the proof, if you can't see this it's not my problem. It is a fact. Do some research."

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy (that is a very BM thing to say btw...)

Why do you think the bluemeanie account was ever up for sale? Isn't it much more logical that Bluemeanie came first and created the moneroman sockpuppet later to troll all threads? This explanation doesn't require any sale of accounts and fits the facts we know about BM and Moneroman being linked.

This is much more logical, unless you have any other evidence to provide?
