1381  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: September 09, 2015, 12:53:48 AM

Yeah, but at what point do you consider it to be officially a decline?

I buy in small amounts, but at this point in time. I think buying in general should be avoided despite people stating its cheap, and further your creative options to get it by selling something or other creative ways then buying a coin.

cause you know some go all-in and now they are in debt based on the rate dependency.

Well maybe some people think bitcoin will devalue over time from here on out and fluctuate at a price way lower than what it was in 2013; that doesn't mean that people still won't believe in the value of a decentralized currency that can be globally used.  Honestly, I think that there will be 3 or 4 major players in the crypto world that would offer different capabilities.  That, in turn, means that bitcoin would have to share the market of who uses cryptocurrency (because, let's face it... fiat isn't going anywhere).

So what I'm trying to get at is that maybe more and more people are starting to not like how bitcoins volatile market is going right now due to the blockchain debate... so people with bitcoins (I think) are starting to hedge funds into altcoins that they think are going to "make it". When I say "make it" I don't mean surpass the price of bitcoin, but instead be a major player that has substantial amount of value above a couple of dollars per coin.  Therefore, the occasional bubble and bursts of btc are going to happen for a while now because when people see it declining in price, they aren't just buying btc because they think that it's going to go to $900 again... but they are trying to ride the bull to a certain price point to get more "bang for their buck" to get more altcoins per btc.
1382  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: September 09, 2015, 12:37:07 AM
How too get rich...
I think there's only 2 options either get a decent job or set up a business (legal)

I don't think just by setting up business one can become rich. He should have good knowledge about the business what he is doing and also some luck.

Ofcourse before diving into business you have to have a good knowledge of what you are going into. But going into business will give you the freedom to earn what you want based on your determination.

That's a nice assumption and all, but being successful in a business is not all about determination.  My dad ran a golf shop in a small town and got a lot of business through determination and passion for golf.  He was extremely successful, until one day a Dick's Sporting Goods came into town and ran my dad out of business.  Could he overcome Dick's prices on golf merchandise through determination alone? Absolutely not... it's about filling a niche that hasn't really been filled before that makes a businesses REALLY successful (i.e. Walmart, McDonald's, Bitcoin)

If you reinvent how people use and buy everyday things, or completely invent something entirely new that's the TRUE way to get rich.
1383  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SIMPLE Earning BTC method for Noobs on: September 09, 2015, 12:28:29 AM
I would like to add few more earning methods from my end:

1. Services:

In this section, members post bounty options for those who can help them either in programming or any other task (eg: a signup on a website, forum posts and so on). This job can get a person earning irrespective of his account rank.

2. Digital Goods/Goods:

Here the members can sell their digital goods like gift cards or physical goods and earn BTC. A simple a safe method.

Also in the Faucets section, kindly write that it's a low earning method. Also if possible, rank the options as per the earning capability. I feel Signature Campaigns pay higher than the other options but that's my POV.

Would you recommend always using escrow when selling gift cards and other goods?

I would say always use an escrow when dealing with trading goods and services on marketplace.  There are way too many people out there who would love to take your hard earned coins.  Personally I would suggest SebastianJu, because I have personally dealt with him and does a quality job making sure everything goes as planned.

Also if you're looking at just selling gift cards I would take a look at purse.io as well, have heard good things about the site.

1385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin" XT Status Update on: August 21, 2015, 02:36:47 AM
This project can damage to Bitcoin network . how it is interesting ? .... Anyway
We know the problems and the question is what is the final solution ?

The project is interesting because it *might* damage Bitcoin.  Not many things can do that.

The solution is running and mining blocks with NotXT nodes.

Contact your favorite pool ops/devs and ask them to add a port for NotXT miners.

When XT is lulled into a false sense of security, we spring the trap and kill it.
Ppl get bias and are thinking in the way they get used to. Until XT reaches consensus from the majority, will they still mining NotXT which will be altcoin? I doubt it!
1386  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China approves usage of ruble instead of US dollar for border city on: August 10, 2015, 03:35:18 PM
Great initiative! It will benefit the local ppl ! But from the global perspective, Bitcoin is the future! The government in different regions should be open to it!
1387  Other / Meta / Questions about my account gets banned on: July 31, 2015, 03:44:11 PM

What does it mean? When can I post from my account?
1388  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoin loans on: July 24, 2015, 08:58:33 AM
They will work just as FIAT loans. There are many loans on this forum, just go to the lending section and see it for yourself. If you take a good collateral, you shouldn't have any problems if the loan defaults. As you can see, a common sense is the most important, if you are giving a FIAT loan or Crypto loan.
Lenders in lending board here are more willing to give out bitcoin loan, instead of fiat. They are here for bitcoin, nor for fiat.

Websites have been made for this purpose already.
Yes, like btcjam.com

1390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if the "spam attack" is something other than a spam attack? on: July 10, 2015, 03:13:23 AM
It is possible to encode content into the blockchain by sending the types of transactions that are now being described as spam.
No need to do so! Any output amount which is less than 5.46uBTC is considered dust or spamming the network. It will be treated as non-standard (won't be relayed, won't be mined). 546 satoshis is derived from the cost (in fees) to spend a TxOut/TxIn.It is not fixed, it will change as time goes by.

Press accounts are now suggesting that ~30 BTC has been burned in these transactions.  That is nearly $8,000 at current exchange rates.  It is hard to believe that somebody would go through the effort and expense of sending random dust at this scale just to piss off the bitcoin community.
Probably the senders don't know the bitcoin operating mechanism and just mean to donate a small amount of money to them.
1391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Those with an incentive to attack the bitcoin network on: July 10, 2015, 02:43:34 AM
These recent stress tests have made it clear that if they want to, groups can attack bitcoin. Which brings up who in the future would have an incentive to do this.  There could be many groups with an incentive to continue these attacks:

1. Established payment systems.

2. People who want to highlight a weakness in btc and force a change (i.e., larger block sizes).

3. The supporters/investors of a competing alt coin.

4. Bitcoin shorters.

5. Bored billionaires.

6. Exchanges. Any volatility increases the income for exchanges.

So, IMO without a change in the system, it seems like these attacks will continue.
I cannot understand why the points you made is an incetive to continue these attacks. By spamming the network, their transactions wouldn't get confirmed without meeting the required criteria, such as the minimum fees, lowest input and output amount. It will really affect their business's operation.
1392  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I got scammed by btcrow.com - please HELP on: July 09, 2015, 02:07:05 PM
Anyways...good news...i finally received the payment from btcrow...
...due to large bitcoin amount, blockchain requires 89 bitcoin confirmations.
89 confirmations??  They worried about a 51 thousand percent attack?  What a load of crap!

Anyways.  Glad it worked out..
What an unprofessional escrow service providers? They may keep saying never receiving the money and run away! Then you are scammed and can do nothing to them! Bitcoin's transaction's none reversal feature could be the advantage, or could be drawback in some situation! Escrow services are arising to counter this! Maybe one day govs step up this area, regulate or insure the third party escrow service, Bitcoin's adoption may be boosted quickly!
1393  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Escrows on: July 09, 2015, 12:48:11 PM
Actually how to prepare to be an escrow? Because I see a lot an escrow use pgp and use a hardware wallet for received the amount. Anyone can answer this?
It is answered by the upper users! Please read them through! One day you come to escrow, you will experience the escrow process and understand them!
1394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just what is a FAIR fee to send a Bitcoin transaction? on: July 09, 2015, 02:35:16 AM
I feel that it largely depends on the amount sent. For example for microtransactions such as .001 BTC, it would be unreasonable to charge a large fee. On the other hand with the larger transactions, it doesn't make much sense to charge a .0001BTC fee

0.001 BTC should have bigger fee requirements, because it is dust. Bitcoin was not made for such small transactions, they only clutter the network and there should be no incentive for them
50k in the block are set aside for the highest-priority transactions, regardless of transaction fee. So ppl may take the advantage of this rule and avoid paying transaction fee. It is not fair for the ppl who are paying transactions fee to get their transactions included in the block quickly! And why should we pay the fee based on the transaction size? IMHO We should pay the transactions fee based on the amount we sent. The higher amount we send, the more fee we should pay. Besides that, the dust amount should be avoided as well.

Is this a fee fair where we figure out a fair fee?    Grin
What are you trying to say?
1395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Future of Financial Services" written by bank industry, positive on Bitcoin! on: July 08, 2015, 09:16:17 AM
My interpretation of their summary: Bitcoin gonna bring the hurt to staid incumbent financial biz.

Well I certainly hope so, but my fear is once the banks realize how much bitcoin is hurting them or how much money they can save they will just implement bitcoin tech into their own businesses rather than actual bitcoin which many banks are already looking into now. It's obvious that bitcoin tech can save them money as their systems are old and antiquated but they'll probably just create their own blockchain or one set up solely for the major banks to use so wont do us much good as bitcoin users.
Absolutely! Some major banks are exporing the bitcoin technology and seeking the potential intergration with bitcoin. They may intergrate the blockchain of bitcoin. It seems blockchains is more useful than just bitcoin token itself.
1396  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Project is Milton Friedman's k-precent rule...nearly on: July 08, 2015, 08:20:42 AM
the article most refer to the mining activity and especially the controlled supply, when he talk about the whole "backed up", well its true that the miners are the fulcrum of bitcoin

but i still think that viewing it as a backed by demand should suffice

But the demand is subject to the ppl's discretion. Most of ppl cannot understand the regulatory algorithm and how bitcoin has intrinsic value, just ignore the existence of bitcoin. But we can change this situation one day. One day bitcoin is adopted by most of ppl, bitcion is standard payment method, bitcoin's ecosystem is perfect. Ppl are taking the advantages bitcoin is offering. Then we can say bitcion has intrinsic value. Ppl cannot live without bitcoin.
1397  Economy / Economics / Re: ROI is not Payback Period on: July 08, 2015, 05:48:39 AM
Before I involved in this crytp community, I already knew the meaning of ROI in financial world. Then now I get used to the meaning of ROI here. Why is there huge difference in two different context? I just assume that in crypto world ppl are caring more about payback period! If the period is two long, they maybe never reach the ROI. Coz there are a lot of scams or hacks around crypto world. Besides that, coins' price are volatile. If they can not reach ROI in short term, the volatile price may wipe out all of the returns.
1398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at the Tour de France!!! on: July 07, 2015, 09:48:14 AM
Bah, why didn't I think of doing this. The Grand Depart kicked off in my city this year - I live and work near the start.

I would have worn a mask too in order to protect my visible identity, but imagine that will all the world's media and all the viewers. Probably would have had to stood further from the start line to avoid any unnecessary hassle from the security.
Good idea! But it should be the job of the bitcoin related business. It is a great way to raise the global awareness to bitcoin, like VISA, Coco Cola, Nike etc.
1399  Other / Meta / Re: What's with all the new accounts named "`````", "^^^^^", etc? on: July 07, 2015, 09:19:25 AM
I cannot understand that so many accounts were created and there are no activities at all since then. If there are no posts in 14 days periods, no potential activites at all. The accounts should be worthless. Why not just delete these dormant accounts without activites? We could set a period for these accounts!
1400  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering loans! on: July 07, 2015, 09:08:07 AM
So I'm going to try my hand at lending again. I am currently willing to lend out .1btc to someone with proper collateral.

Use this format when requesting a loan.

Loan Amount :

Amount to be repaid :

Reason           :

BTC Address  :

Term Length  :

Temporarily closed while I tend to another investment. Sorry guys :C
Are you joking here? Just create Offering loans thread after a few hours close it! If you don't have spare money for offering loan,  you shouldn't open it! Besides that, you should know  that it is not easy to offer loan here due to a lot of scams.
