How long until we see something similar?

Also, last I heard from the MSD was that there was a hearing scheduled for September 9th. Anyone have any info on that?

EDIT: The MSD has told me it has been continued to November 18th, 2014.

I realize the pireat40 case and kenny are 2 different things, but how long does it take for these monies to be paid? Article says "not sure where Shavers will get the money from" what if there is no money? Defendant goes to jail and investors get no money?

Also, isnt MDS just an investigative body? They dont prosecute do they? Depending on their findings it is up to the investors from there isnt it?

Pretty sure kenny doesnt own FA worth taking and that it may be a long time before any sort of justice meted out. If the idiot is smart at all he will die of a stroke before any settlement is reached. Way to go Ken, you f*&king loser.

They should put all the BFL team in jail. For...2 weeks.
1383  Economy / Speculation / Is The Dumping of Stolen Coins Causing BTC Price to Fall? on: September 19, 2014, 11:14:33 PM
Much good news and the price slowly falls. What is up? I've heard a lot of discussion about Dell and Overstock flooding the market with surplus btc and piutting downward pressure on price. What about all the stolen BTC that is out there? Not just gox alone either, there are tons of scams operating/btc stolen. many different actors. even if they try to sell off slowly, several could be driving the market down simultaneously without even realizing.

The concept doesnt seem to come up much or get much traction, what are your thoughts on this?
1384  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-18] CD: Huobi Launches USD Exchange With 24/7 Customer Support on: September 19, 2014, 09:20:02 AM
I don't understand the Chinese BTC regulations, they're in, they're out. I dont know, its irrelevant, isnt it?

It would be nice if this legitimized btc a little more in china. huobi is huge!

They should allow "down voting" like on reddit. More people would register and show up

A police investigation is underway but that's it. Maybe time to open a bounty on www.bitcoinbountyhunter.com ?

At least to find the guy.
1387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver launches fund to catch thieves and hackers! on: September 18, 2014, 06:17:13 AM
I'm surprised that only 3 bounties are on the site. Seems like people are being scammed and robbed daily. Check out the securities section here on bitcointalk.

I guess we will find out who means business and who is just blowing smoke. Bounties make accusers have to put their money where their mouth is.
1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I asked Restoration Hardware if they would accept Bitcoin... on: September 18, 2014, 03:12:42 AM
I made a joke at the place I buy silver about bitcoin when he refused to take my mastercard due to the fact that they lose their spot fee due to the charges from the cc company. Much to my surprize, the gentleman informed me they DO take bitcoin, there was one guy in the back room who took care of those transactions. I asked him why they didnt advertize, at least mention it on bitcointalk, twitter or what have you, but he didnt want to talk about it, it was all the department of this "guy in the back"

I guess they dont want the business? It is pretty much guaranteed that if people know you accept btc, btc will come... I'm just puzzled as to why they dont advertize it at all, they are an antiques store that deals in coins and bullion, but mostly nice antiques, great glass stuff. I am going to go in and spend some btc on a xmas gift for my wife or maybe some silver for my stack, then I can ask the "guy in the back room"

Sort of the opposite problem to OP but odd just the same. BTC is at a weird place in its adoption. There is a lingering aire of uncertainty about it all still. There's really nothing to compare it to in history, which depending on your view, is either the greatest thing ever or a total nightmare of insecurity and doubt. this will change.

Strange, they do the 'hard work' of getting a BTC system in place then dont bother promoting it! Why dont you email the info to the websites that have listings of stores that accept it? like http://coinmap.org/
Also the blockchain app has an option to list the nearby places.

I feel it is only fair to speak to the guy in charge first. I do not know his reasoning behind the non-advertising policy but it is his decision.

If his only reason is he is too busy or doesn't have time I will offer to spear his info to the various outlets. So far the only other places in my town that accept btc are a breakfast joint, a natural body lotion/soap manufacturer and a weird store that sells used VHS tapes, books, and action figures. The gold/silver/antiques guy is the only btc friendly store in town I really want anything from.
1389  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie starting his BTC hobby. on: September 17, 2014, 07:00:59 AM
Run your miners as long as you can afford to. The btc mined could be worth many times what it is in the future. Unless you are paying more in electricity than it would cost to simply buy direct, you are good. You've already purchased the miners and you won't get what you paid for them if you sell, so you've got to ask yourself "what do you have to lose?"
Plus you don't want to regret not mining if btc hits 10000 or greater.

1391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why There Should Be A Bitcoin Central Bank on: September 17, 2014, 01:22:20 AM
There will be a btc central bank sooner or later. Given the chance to break away from old paradigms people seem to resist new waves in favour of the familiar, even when the familiar is broken, corrupt, poisonous. fools.

there will be a btc central bank, but it is unneccessary. It will flourish however because most of the population does not want to know how it works, easier to let someone else do it.

I feel that it will be the next big wave in btc development and implementation that could go awry with manipulation, ineptitude and hubris. It will just wind up being one more season of fiascos in bitcoinland for all the FUD media to harp on about. "BTC; greatest thing for terrorists, drug dealers, child exploiters and now millenials with the same lack of ethics as the fat cat banksters they seek to replace"

It will be bad for btc, ultimately. If you arm yourself with knowledge such entities are rendered useless. avoid.
1392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what Best Way to Earn btc? on: September 16, 2014, 10:57:56 PM
Try a signature campaign, it's the best way to earn some coins!

yes, but most campaigns require much activity and a sr. Member status or greater.

Time to involve yourself in this board, Post lots, keep it thoughtful...Ask questions...there are a lot of very smart people in here who are glad to share thier knowledge, unfortunately the few trolls and abusive haters make the most noise. learn and use your "ignore" button. Just one reply from the likes of Notlambchop or Mpoe-PR can ruin ones day and make the experience of bitcointalk very unattractive. think of it this way... one out of one thousand people is a criminal sociopath. this fraction of a percent of the population is responsable for 80% of all violent crime. Small but very destructive minorities can ruin great communities.

If you are a member of bitcointalk you are obviously invested in bitcoin and the bitcoin ecosystem. Finding topics to discuss, ideas to comment on, questions to ask...this should not be a problem. press releases always seems to have something I will react to.

one thing I try NOT to do is spend too much time in threads related specifically to my sig campaing. Dont want to preach to the converted. (I do regularly look at said threads, and comment if I have something to add/ask, but I try to spread myself around.

If you are really desperate, but feel a responsability to post quality info, go hang out in the n00bs section. there are plenty of new users that could use a helping hand. I remember quite a few helpful users when I first got involved, so I'm happy to pay it foreward.

If, in dream state, you find yourself floating above your bed, go with your mind toward any door or window you can see. pass through this portal and you can astro-project to any time or place imaginable. I've tried this and it works(?)  at least I went on a pretty trippy voyage (I intentioned myself to visit hell)

turns out "hell" is populated by The Bearenstien Bears. Go figure!
1396  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't you wish you never had any alcohol? on: September 16, 2014, 10:32:12 PM
just try spending an hour or two with drunks while you remain sober. you wont envy them. in fact, you will barely be able to tolerate them. drinking is a waste of time.
1397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gotta vent - eBay/Paypal suck! AND some people are just scum on: September 16, 2014, 10:26:54 PM
I got a 60ghs bfl miner in october 2013. thanks to the spike in usd/btc price in november through feburary 2014 I made double my money back.

Miner stopped working in july, and although I believe it is software problem I have simply turned it off as it only spat out ~ 0.04btc every 2 weeks, so not worth it. mined a total of 6 btc during its mining life.

I cant be bothered to sell the miner because it isnt worth much to anyone. I have tried to give it away twice and both parties said no thanks. you cant give these things away.

I dont want to lose my ebay rating so it looks like I will continue to own a curiosity and relic of btc history (unless some genius figures out some other use for this thing...i've heard there may be some sort of video gaming application, but idk if that is scrypt miners only?)
1398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wow, Paypal is #Bitcoin now! on: September 16, 2014, 09:53:31 PM
paypal has been speaking not unkindly of bitcoin for a long time. They know thier payment systems and btc is a no brainer.

it is happening faster than i thought though. I wish my btc tx confirmations happened that fast lol.
1399  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] ASICMINER Informer - an English speaking News Hub for all things friedcat on: September 16, 2014, 09:44:08 PM
Get a proper translator and I will gladly contribute. The translator you are using so far is not accurate.
1400  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 16, 2014, 09:41:56 PM
I do not speak chinese, but I could relate this translation job to how I do it with french/english. I have some french but am not fluent, so when confronted with francophone text, I run it thriough google translator for a general idea of what is being said, then it is pretty obvious where the translation is weak or innacurate and I go back to those sections and look closer. A sort of double-pass that usually irons out the mistakes.

Anyhow, "mining in fishponds" is not acceptable translation, and we need someone more fluent to do this job. Find that individual, give proof that they know how to translate (by translating something) then I will be happy to contribute.

Good for you to initiate this project, I hope it makes an impression on FC that his shareholders have to do his PR work for him (and the PR guy he is PAYING to do what is not getting done)
