This can be interpreted in different ways, therefore I am of the opinion that it is not enough for red. Signature is payment for some kind of service, or promotion, and if you remove the ad from your sig space, you will not be paid.
In Ratimov's case, he wanted to pay for the improvement of his reputation, but he didn't get it, maybe that's why he doesn't want to pay.
But the offer was not contingent on him getting a certain amount of reputation or something like that. The way the offer was made it looked like him calling himself a "sponsor" was all he wanted out of it. He gets that for about 11 months out of 12, and then withdraws the offer. Does not seem right no matter how I try to look at it. And even IRL courts often don't consider "fairness" in contract disputes. In other words, if Sym engaged in a bad deal, that's kinda his own fault. Anyway, I'm not advocating for red trust, but I also probably wouldn't oppose a flag if any of the participants of the contest can provide solid reasoning based on the facts of this "sponsor" deal alone (without detours to plagiarism and all the other drama). |

The thing is that I can perfectly accept the posibility of serious irregularities during an election, it is something which is within the realm of the possible. So in my opinion, assuming Trump and his lawyers actually believed there was something fishy going on, they did good on going to judges and file lawsuits. Those are the regular channels which are supposed to be taken in the United States.
But Trump and his team could not bring any evidence on the table which could convince those judges (many of them appointed by Trump himself, by the way) so the lawsuits got dismissed and forgotten.
Who was at fault there?
If you file a lawsuit and have no evidence, you're at fault. Actually it was worse than that. Not only did they have no evidence but also got repeatedly scalded by multiple judges for being illiterate buffoons (well, maybe not quite in those words) for trivial things like not filing the appropriate paperwork and not-so-trivial things like putting people in danger with their frivolous lawsuits. The legal system is not supposed to be used like that. It did work as designed (the lawsuits got dismissed) but still there was a lot of damage done by the reckless conspiratardery that these muppets tried to push. |

Now that I'm just thinking about it... A long time ago I seem to recall that I reviewed suchmoon's trust feedbacks which were full of post-it note style vitriol of anyone their gang didn't approve of and hence they (suchmoon) deserves a Tilda along with the three mentioned in this thread. (Plus the one running a protection racket)
I don't understand most of this rant but one thing that I vehemently agree with is that if you don't trust my judgement (in this thread or anywhere else) you should, no, you must most definitely do the tilde on me and it will solve all your problems forever.

How does the forum works & how should the forum work according to whom? Satoshi? Have you speak with him in person how the forum should work 2023? Technically if the host was holding the funds but returned them to him, the host violated the terms of contract.
None of it matters. If you promise to pay me for doing nothing and then you don't, you would still be in breach of contract even if it's my "spare time". Sending or not sending the money in advance also has nothing to do with it. Even if you wanted to blame the donor, he could file for bankruptcy and claim there were people in line to get paid with actual written contracts and that legally they were the priority, then your fantasy forum rules would make no sense to warrant a flag.😉
Donor LOL Sym-whatshisname said "sponsor". That's very different from "donor". Sponsorship is very likely to be a contract because it implies that the sponsor is receiving something in return. Words matter. No one forced him to call it that, his choice, his contract, his failure to execute. I can see why participants wouldn't want to raise the flag here but that doesn't mean that you need to start making things up to justify that, like bankruptcy  ... there is no bankruptcy, there is just a disgruntled user trying to turn everything he touched into shit. |

There is definitely a difference. One is a donation and the second is a bet. As far as I can see, Ratimov is not a participant in this contest, so he certainly cannot receive any prize from it. There was no agreement between Ratimov and the participants here, except for a few thanks for his generosity.
If you say "I'm sponsoring this and here's how much I'll pay" is about as serious of a contract as it gets here on the forum. If I said something like this and then retracted it at the last minute, I'd expect to be flagged up the wazoo. Not sure where you see the difference between that and e.g. a signature campaign or some other promise to pay. |

I would argue that anyone looking to "start over" with a name change should do exactly that. Start from the beginning, no rank, no merit, no post history. Don't try to hide who you were.

There might be legitimate privacy reasons for a username change and in this case the username was a Russian last name, may or may not have been his real name, but I guess plausible enough to make an appeal to theymos to change it. The timing of it though... no issues with bearing that username for years, now a "privacy" issue |

LOL there are no "preorders", the $100 deposit means jack shit, especially since most of those "buyers" likely put it down on a $40k truck, which will never happen. Can anyone tell confidently that he did not put a simple code and storing everyone browsing information including the IPs? Ibminer can probably tell you this. The default of any web server is keep access logs (for a while). I can tell you that we have webserver logs and we may see the IPs and... then what? There is no plausible way for us to associate these IPs with anything personally identifiable. We don't have logins. We don't see your Bitcointalk login. I mean with some effort in theory we could try to guess that someone repeatedly looking at LoyceV profile on BPIP might be yourself, or perhaps just a big fan of yours . And then even knowing (or assuming) that some IP belongs to some user... My ISP is not going to give my details to a random person but if he goes though a proper channel they will pull it
It's not as easy for some random website to pull your personal details from an ISP as you're trying to imply, but you should be using VPN or Tor anyway. Don't blame websites or their owners if you're voluntarily giving your vitals away. |

I should clarify. BPIP works fine for me most of the time. If i try to access it during a slow period, where no one has accessed in a while, it gives me the error the first time.
They should be able to look in the log and see what exact collection of variables leads to the error.
The site is just lazy, takes after its owners... slow to get up in the morning. Seriously though, the only 500 errors I see in the logs are from bots/crawlers. So not sure what to make of that. Welcome back |

What I really don't understand is why would Ratimov go ahead and try to delete an quality post that he made. I haven't seen anyone doubting that his debit card list thread was useful and also original. It really doesn't help his case to go ahead and say that he was pissed when someone went ahead and "forked" his now erased thread to bring out the information and keep updating.
The accusation of merit farming holds more ground if he stands against people releasing information freely just because he had formatted a thread about a certain topic earlier than others...
I wouldn't look for too much reason here. Most likely it's just spitefulness and over-inflated ego. In NotATether's thread he said something along the lines "you all did [something or other] against me", not sure who "all" is - the whole forum? So he holds a big grudge against everyone. You all wronged me so I'll remove all my threads, that'll teach you. Didn't think it through however. I don't think it's about merit farming... I mean if he created a thread and got merit for it, he earned it, nothing wrong there. |
