301  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a fast BTC collateral loan on: August 04, 2023, 04:14:09 PM
I have some BTC in the wallet I have here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile
I can sign a message with that wallet if you explain how I do, but I can do it in 1 hour.

I also got some more on a cold wallet. and more alt coins.

I don't know what you got against me, I never see you before.

So you can sign a message but you need a loan? Makes no sense.

If you insist on a bet, send 0.1 BTC to LoyceV for escrow (if he agrees to this nonsense) and a signed message showing your BTC stash and I'll do the same. I don't need to know how much you have, escrow can adjudicate this. I don't see what this proves though. Surely doesn't prove you're trustworthy.

Edit: Sneaky little shit edited the post. Backpedaling much? LOL
302  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a fast BTC collateral loan on: August 04, 2023, 04:07:49 PM
I for sure got more money then you got, you want to bet?

Unfortunately I only take bitcoins for bets and you don't have any so I doubt that's going to work.

I am untrusty worthy because I ask for a collateral loan?

This is the sickest trust abuse I ever seen.

You're untrustworthy for the reasons stated in my trust feedback. No amount of twisting is going to help you here so you can save your fingers and stop typing this belligerent nonsense.
303  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a fast BTC collateral loan on: August 04, 2023, 04:00:40 PM
Excuse me? I did ask for a collateral loan, not a non-collateral loan.

How could I scam anyone with that?

You said you will never ask for a loan (didn't specify collateral or not, just any loan). They you asked for a loan. That makes you untrustworthy. I'm not going to provide you with instructions how to scam on a collateral loan, but there are other issues with such loans as well, not the least of which is trust farming leading to a long con.

I lending out money to people on this forum.

Good luck with that. Maybe try actually having money so that you don't need to borrow yourself.

Remove your feedback now.

Sure. Anything else you'd like me to do for you while I'm at your service?
304  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a fast BTC collateral loan on: August 04, 2023, 03:43:34 PM
I will never been needing a loan in the near future (ever)
Maybe I won't be a newbie forever and would be granted a loan in the future, and this thing was a very smart idéa to avoid problems like these (if my account would end up hacked in the future)

I  think a collateral 24 hour loan is another story.

Oh, watch out we got a "thinker" here LOL

Jesus fucking Christ, even scammers got stupider while I was out.
305  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: August 04, 2023, 03:36:25 PM
Your neutral feedback on my profile on the other hand is incomprehensible:

I think he's asking if you use a Radeon GPU or have one that he can borrow....or something.  I was never great at deciphering heiroglyphicated nonsensiwords.

It seems to say "Pardon!" but if someone really wanted to apologize they wouldn't do it in gibberish and then attack the person they're asking "pardon" from so I'm probably wrong.
306  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Trump be indicted ? on: August 04, 2023, 11:40:48 AM
It still seems like a backwards, regressive hillbilly-hellscape even with Biden at the helm.

Oh please... we have beautiful progressive cities here as well, not just hills with billies.

Even Trump couldn't destroy that. 250+ years of pursuit of happiness FTW.
307  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Ilya Lichtenstein Admits to Being Bitfinex Hacker in Court on: August 04, 2023, 11:19:49 AM
However, that it was like a weekend project, didn't occur to me. What I can remember is that when I used it many years ago as a newbie, it was a giant in the industry, competing against the popular Bittrex. The assumption, albeit naïve, was that the larger the exchange is, the better security it has. Bitfinex was at the top of the food chain. Much was expected from them.

It was large, yes, but Mt Gox was one of the (if not "the") largest too when it was hacked, and so were some others (Cryptsy etc). Size doesn't mean it's technically sound, often the opposite. I recall having basic issues like trouble having my e-mail verified etc so I wouldn't be surprised if they just ignored security guidelines and kept private keys in a text file somewhere. IIRC Bitgo had said that Bitfinex did not follow their (Bitgo's) procedures so all that fancy third party security system was meaningless too.
308  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Ilya Lichtenstein Admits to Being Bitfinex Hacker in Court on: August 04, 2023, 03:49:49 AM
Everything seemed to have turned awry after the hack. The hack appeared brilliantly planned and executed

Was it though? I admit I haven't been following any recent revelations but back in the day it looked like Bitfinex fucked up hugely (e.g. left a major exploit unpatched for months and a script kiddie got lucky), then tried to save their face by making it sound like they were unfortunate victims of some government-level hacking attack.

Also keep in mind that $4.5 billion being mentioned in the news is nonsense, those coins were worth maybe $80 million at the time. Still a huge amount but not billions and Bitfinex was accordingly shoddy with their systems (I used it briefly in 2015 or 16 and it felt like some dude's weekend project rather than a serious financial institution).

1) Spot lockup deadline

I vote 3 weeks prior to draft day.

Fine.

2) date of draft day

I vote Sat or Sun before kickoff thursday.
I tend to goto casino friday nights.

Any day is fine, preferably evening hours UTC but doesn't really matter that much.

3) Any Veto's on Yahoo and Seek3r joining the league?

No. I mean yes. No veto. Yes to them joining.

4) Keep me as Commish?

Yes.

5) Keep DW as treasurer?

Yes.

6) should we go into debating and voting for rule changes before the player list is set and dues are collected?

Yes. I vote for no rule changes though Smiley
310  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: August 04, 2023, 03:10:32 AM

Are you though? I haven't been in meta for weeks if not months but it feels like I never left because I still find your off-topic whiny-ass stalker nonsense in one of the first threads I open. So thanks for making me feel right back at home but maybe try growing up big man.
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 04, 2023, 02:52:03 AM
*Just noticed I havn't heard from Suchmoon but was pretty sure they had mentioned they would be in so I think I auto locked them up.
I pm'd and am waiting on a reply.

I'm in. Sorry haven't been much active recently, trying this newfangled thing called vacation like 12 hours at a time until work texts me at 4am so I'm kinda cranky but definitely looking forward to crushing you all in FF.
312  Economy / Reputation / Re: Timelord2067 is a malicious liar and a deranged troll on: July 10, 2023, 11:05:50 PM
...
I really don't understand why you spend so much time communicating with him with messages, when there is report and ignore options available.

Sometimes people tend to be nice, even on this forum, weird, I know Smiley

I've had a similar situation with Timelord20something. We communicated via PM in good faith (I thought) and then Timelord didn't like that I didn't respond in his expected timeline. Ok, shit happens, misunderstanding, etc. But Timelord exaggerated the whole thing as if it was a breach of contract or something, sent nonsensical trust feedback, trolled the threads I was posting in, etc.

Anyway, I can understand how 1miau got into this, and how annoying that sort of deluded trollshittery can be.
313  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: July 10, 2023, 10:50:31 PM
I simply have problem with you taking most profit from situation you created, where you did not produce wheat, but your colonial ways produced
hunger in Africa

I don't know who's "you" but the former colonialists seem to be trying to get that grain going while Putin, the friend of random African dictatorships, keeps holding said grain hostage with these ridiculous negotiations and threats to not allow it to be exported. It shouldn't be subject to negotiations to begin with. It's only a problem because Putin created it, what with the invasion and the deluded imperialist "I own the Black Sea" nonsense.
314  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: July 10, 2023, 05:16:57 PM
Most of that food didn't go to Africa, but to West, so they can triple price before sending it to Africa. Business as usual
Poland farmers were already on a brink of mutiny and unrest over Ukrainian grain
Developing countries people are not as stupid as you think

You're like a small child who gets a dollar for ice cream and a dollar for candy and comes home crying without ice cream or candy. "Why didn't you buy it?". "I forgot which dollar is which". It doesn't matter which grain goes to Africa and which dollars pay for it, as long as the supply is sufficient to keep the price affordable. Real world works differently than Stalin's (or Tito's) five year plan, try to keep up.

As for charitable assistance, Russia has repeatedly stated that it is ready to deliver targeted supplies of wheat and fertilizers to the most needy African countries in the required volume free of charge. No grain deal is needed for this, Russia again had a record grain harvest last year.

Except "russia" is not doing that. Why?
315  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: July 08, 2023, 05:25:03 PM
Don't compare Ukraine's counteroffensive with the Bakhmut Meat Grinder. Russia could afford to advance slowly, Ukraine cannot, because time is Russia's ally and Ukraine's enemy. Zelensky is now in an extremely unenviable position between a rock and a hard place - on the one hand, quick successes are needed for the NATO summit in Vilnius, which will begin in five days, and on the other hand, Ukraine cannot now make Russia very angry, because the extension of the grain deal, which expires July 18th. Difficult choice.

This date thing seems to be a major fetish with Russian propaganda, along with the personality thing.

Zaluzhny dead, Budanov dead, Zelensky on cocaine, etc.

Bakhmut must be taken before New Years, before the war aniversary, before victory day, etc.

It doesn't really make sense outside of Kremlin bubble. No one in Vilnius is gonna say "oh well, Zelensky has not taken Crimea by <insert some date made up by the 15 ruble brigade idiots who spread Putin's propaganda for free> so let's stop giving them weapons". If anything they will give more weapons or certain types of weapons that may address some of the issues encountered during the alleged counteroffensive. Progress is obvious and goals remain the same, concern trolling notwithstanding.
316  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: July 05, 2023, 04:59:55 PM
Its only logical, because they're equally reliable

Great, I'm happy we can agree that Ukrainians are slowly pushing into the occupied territories.
317  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: July 05, 2023, 01:34:12 AM
Let's conduct a dialogue in a more substantive way, without slipping into propaganda slogans. Where exactly can one observe "sufficient advance" of Ukraine, in which particular sectors of the front? What scale do I need to look at the maps to notice the progress of Ukraine?

I understand that you are more passionate about your crystal ball and wet fantasies in the style of "how everything will be fine when the West gives F16 and long-range missiles", but let's somehow get back closer to reality.

Let me guess, if someone gives you links to ISW/liveuamap/Deep State maps you'll call it Western propaganda and demand Konashenkov-approved maps?

Not afraid but ran away from Moscow at the first sign of trouble. Glorious fearless leader. When parade in Bakhmut?

Funny how you're not ready to question anything

Among many other things, in this thread in particular I'm questioning your fearless leader's mental capacity, as evidenced by his inability to admit his fuckup and retreat from Ukraine to save Russian lives. I guess that's not good a question, not approved by politburo, amirite.
319  Other / Meta / Re: Self-moderated topics - nice feature or should it get banned? on: June 30, 2023, 10:14:49 PM
There is nothing inherently wrong with self-moderation. It is abused by scammers and spammers and other dross, just like any other forum feature is (trust system, merit system, etc). I think some limitations could be useful, e.g. not allowing self-mod threads for newbies. But really anyone seeing a self-mod thread created by a person they don't like should just ignore it, and if they see one created by a scammer they can use trust feedback to warn users.

As for some deranged troll threatening to "ban" this feature... I wouldn't waste too much time worrying about that.
320  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 30, 2023, 09:54:50 PM
Pseudo-coup fallout continues: Prigozhin's media empire, including the US-election-meddling troll factory and the infamous 15-ruble brigade, is being shut down. So now if any of these Kremlin copy-pasters show up here again we'll know for sure that they're bona fide deranged putinists. Speaking of which...

That's your interpretation...mine is that he's not afraid of anything

Not afraid but ran away from Moscow at the first sign of trouble. Glorious fearless leader. When parade in Bakhmut?
