Russia is only doing an UN approved police action

Must be some Russian knock-off version of UN that "approved" it. Don't be shy, give us the link to the Kremlin conspiratard blog that fed you this bullshit.

“wouldn't be surprised if death_wish is trying to get himself nominated to DT.”

Oh, I think if he tried he would go about it in a much more inconspicuous way..

I think you underestimate narcissism. He can do no wrong, he's a genius in everything he does. He didn't confirm or deny that he's nullius, or satoshi, or Mother Theresa, therefore no one can possibly figure out his secret identity and secret plans.

As for DT - merit farming going well so far, trust inclusions not so much, so he's probably gonna need a few more accounts to get there.

36.

43.

This is one of the largest (if not the largest) number of DT-members with negative feedback ever!

WHAT IS HAPPENING??#!

Yep, I'm still here always ready to lose some money.

Being still mostly a noob at this, I don't mind any changes, 12 teams, Yahoo, all fine with me, as long as we agree at least 4 weeks in advance and I have time to practice build false hopes.
1025  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should we not get negative feedback for expressing our views? How about me? on: June 10, 2022, 11:34:05 PM
PaperWallet, I believe you acted in bad faith in your dispute with FJ but I also believe that everyone has a right to bring up such disputes and should not be penalized for doing so, although "penalizing" a throwaway account is moot anyway. But I wouldn't red-trust you for bringing up a dispute.

I would - and did - red-trust you for paying to subvert/abuse the trust system. While there might be some grey areas in how some people "promote" their disputes to get support for flags, offering money is not grey IMO. You can talk all you want about the payment not being dependent on outcome etc but your demeanor in that thread and even here shows that you wanted to gain support, or at best to stir more shit up.

Others may disagree that bringing money into the trust system is a big deal, and that's fine (the disagreement; not the money). While I appreciate opinions about my trust feedback I'm extremely unlikely to change it unless underlying facts turn out to be incorrect. The facts as stated in the feedback I posted for you are correct. It is not about your "views" as you disingenuously claim in the title of your thread.

I was considering red-trusting anyone who supported/opposed the flag with knowledge that you're paying for that but I'll probably just tilde them instead.
1026  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 10, 2022, 10:38:35 PM
You've got it all mixed up again. The trial of the mercenaries took place in the DPR, from the point of view of Russia it is an independent state, from the point of view of Ukraine it is the Donetsk region within Ukraine. Putin is a powerful man, but he has no power over the Supreme Court of a sovereign state (he doesn't even have power over Russia's Supreme Court).

"independent state" LOL

How about getting out of independent states and stop fueling the war, can the great commander slash forever president do that?

Big on independence when it suits him, except doesn't recognize the right to exist of about a dozen independent countries.
1027  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative feedback for supporting a newbie on their scam accusation against Stake on: June 07, 2022, 11:12:04 AM
Plus reference link does not lead to proof of "your mistake", but to the comment of someone completely different (forum moderator from Stake casino).

Stunna explains Stake's position in this dispute and it seems to be a rational and plausible explanation. He says multiaccounting is allowed except when abused in sports betting to bypass limits that are there for a reason. Both PalamarNadia and edgycorner continue to argue in bad faith ("Doesn't a player have the right to bet on sports on a gambling site?" or "many users on Stake do hold multiple accounts", et cetera). So the trust rating is factual, the reference is good, but I think it should be neutral since it is essentially about an "opinion".
1028  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 05, 2022, 11:55:26 AM
If they don't belong to the state, why is the state the one complaining? Shouldn't it be some company stating that it lost so many tons of grain?

I didn't think this could get any more absurd, but thank you for proving me wrong. Yeah, why aren't farmers complaining, in a territory occupied by a totalitarian regime known to disappear people, when said regime is taking their property. Why didn't the people in Bucha complain on Russian state TV about getting killed?

But yes, "some company" did complain:

Ukraine's largest steelmaker Metinvest on Friday said it was concerned that Russia may use several ships stranded in Mariupol to "steal and smuggle metallurgical products" belonging to the group. It accused Russia of piracy.

Asked on Saturday whether the metal due to be shipped out belonged to Metinvest, a company spokesman said: "We said yesterday that our metal is in the port of Mariupol, yes."

Please move the goalposts by no less than 20 meters next time.
1029  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: June 05, 2022, 11:30:17 AM

If hundreds of users would be selected in the future, I plan to instead choose a random subset of about 100 eligible users each time.

And we're not at "hundreds" yet, so it seems fully within theymos' expectations and I wouldn't expect any such changes any time soon.
theymos is currently selecting 100 random, eligible users to be on DT1 each month. He has been doing this for the past 3 years.

So? My point was we have only ~120 candidates, while theymos seemed to have expected to reach "hundreds", therefore stricter eligibility requirements are unlikely.

Not sure why you quote me with a response that isn't relevant to what I'm saying or what I'm replying to. Make a post without quoting if you want to say something unrelated.
1030  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 03, 2022, 06:26:30 PM
Russia recognized DNR and LNR as independent states, rest of the world did not, so all of accusations of stealing stem from that. Following that logic you might as well claim that they used "stolen" port and stole ships in Crimea for transport. Since Crimea is in a similar state of world recognition

That's absurd. The commodities being stolen don't belong to the state, be it Ukraine, DNR/LNR, or Russia. Does the "recognition" now imply forced nationalization of all private property?

BTW grain is being looted in Kherson region and other areas not part of DNR/LNR.

And of course the "liberators" try to steal money as well, because why not:

In Melitopol, during an inventory of the premises of banking institutions, hryvnias of various denominations spoiled by employees of Ukrainian banks were found, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

... except the video shows what looks like IBNS theft protection dye. But that's not stealing because DNR/LNR amirite.
1031  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 03, 2022, 03:33:07 PM
Russia doesn't even control all of what is soon to be broken away as 'formerly part of Ukraine' so if they have an abundance of 'Ukrainian' grain, it is because someone in Kiev(-ish) Ukraine sold it to them from the central part of the pre-2022 country.  Since there is a general global hunger for rubles, that would make sense.

They control southern areas where a large part of Ukrainian grain production is. And there are many reports of Russians loading and transporting grain to Crimea, if you bothered to look outside of your bitchute safe space.

Yup.  That's how it works now.  The Donbas, Russia proper, and other countries in Central Asia produce a variety of things including steel.  Passing through the port of Mariupol as part of their journey to global markets does not necessarily imply that they are 'looted' (unless you are propagandized retard.)

Nonsense, global markets LOL, you just post random words now. The ship goes from Mariupol to "Russia proper". They're taking something that doesn't belong to them AKA stealing.
1032  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: June 03, 2022, 01:29:23 PM
It would be interesting to add something like activity strength that would reduce your DT level if you are inactive, and increase it if you are active user.

Being active is already part of the requirements:

 - You must have been online sometime within the last 3 days.
[...]
 - You must have posted sometime within the last 30 days.

Merit requirements (10+ and 250+ merit user votes) could be increased considering merit "inflation", because people only gain merit and never lose it. However:

If hundreds of users would be selected in the future, I plan to instead choose a random subset of about 100 eligible users each time.

And we're not at "hundreds" yet, so it seems fully within theymos' expectations and I wouldn't expect any such changes any time soon.

~

So you gave up pretending that you have something to say on topic and will just spam random shit here?

Meanwhile in Ukraine - looting on an industrial scale, thousands of tons of grain and steel being transported out of the occupied territories:

Russia's theft of Ukrainian grain appears to be ramping up as it continues its war on the country, according to new satellite photos of the Crimean port of Sevastopol.

Two Russia-flagged bulk carrier ships are shown docking and loading up with what is believed to be stolen Ukrainian grain in the images. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of "gradually stealing" Ukrainian food products and trying to sell them.

The new images from Maxar Technologies, dated May 19 and 21, show the ships -- the Matros Pozynich and the Matros Koshka -- docked next to what appear to be grain silos with grain pouring off of a belt into an open hold. Both ships have now left the port, according to the ship tracking site MarineTraffic.com, with the Matros Pozynich sailing through the Aegean Sea claiming to be on its way to Beirut and the Matros Koshka still in the Black Sea.

A ship has left the Ukrainian port of Mariupol for the first time since Russia took the city and is headed east to Russia with a load of metal, the Russian-backed separatist leader of the Ukrainian breakaway region of Donetsk said on Tuesday.

Ukraine said the shipment of metal to Russia from Mariupol, whose capture gave Moscow an overland bridge linking mainland Russia and pro-Russian separatist territory to annexed-Crimea, amounted to looting.

That's not how math works.

Anyone using shitcoin "market cap" to make a point about Bitcoin should have their hodler license revoked and get sentenced to three years of margin trading.

(yes, I've probably done it myself at some point)

I prefer Alien 👽 space invasion.

until it actually happens.

In other words.. I doubt they are going to be nice to us... if there were to be such a thing.

Nah, come on. Of course they'll be nice to us, just like we're nice to life forms we consider inferior. The lucky ones will get killed, and others will be locked up in zoos for their own protection, or "domesticated" to entertain the overlords, or become food.

Heard that Putin is unwell and that he is suffering from a rare cancer and his body is shaking already.
Putin must rest now and transfer the power to someone else - who really thinks that peace is possible and rather than deadlock one should go for dialogue.

These rumors have been going on for so long, that it's starting to sound like some sort of FSB fairy tale designed to make people think "hey, the guy is ill, it's not his fault that things are going bad", or "just wait a little bit more, he's gonna croak soon and everything will be fine".

I'll believe it when he's buried (or pickled next to Lenin).

And I have never sock-puppetted; those who accuse me of “sock-puppetting” do not know what the term means.

Using multiple accounts AND pretending that you're not the same person - that's exactly what sockpuppeting means.

Some users have alts and don't hide them. That's fine.

Some users have alts, don't publicly disclose them, but also don't stoop as low as posting in the same thread with their multiple accounts or peddling same idiotic rants or bypassing ignore lists or otherwise abusing the privilege. That can be somewhat shitty but generally still fine.

Some users have alts, don't admit it even when caught, lie about it, use the alts to spam the same bullshit walls of text, "muh free speech", etc - that's you. That's the shittiest kind of a sockpuppeting asshole.

Is there a way to avoid paying taxes (or pay less) if previous owner declares that hi is giving away his car as a gift for free in United States?

Typically you still have to declare the "market" value and pay tax. I've seen people write a lower price on the bill of sale but that carries other risks (for example if the deal goes south, you have recourse only to the extent of the bill of sale value).

Usually not worth the risk for a few hundred bucks.

Maybe he can register this car in some other countries like Mexico if he wants to avoid paying high extortion fees (just a crazy idea).

Like DireWolfM14 mentioned, there are states without sales tax but registering a car there usually requires proof of residence, which also costs money to fake.

In the end you're saving like $800 on a $10000 used car... for most people it's not worth the hassle and the criminal repercussions.

And all that is applicable only to person-to-person sales, which is probably like 1% of car sales in the US. Dealerships will roll the tax into your 10-year loan along with $50k of negative equity from the previous vehicle and off you go Grin

Ukraine is, by your words, winning everywhere, and easily

I think you made that up, as you often do. Ukraine will likely win eventually, not easily though, and I haven't seen paxmao claiming otherwise.
1040  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1994 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Exceed on: June 02, 2022, 01:03:28 AM
I know nothing about buying cars in the USA: what taxes does the seller have to pay?

There is sales tax. You can't really avoid it regardless of how you pay for the vehicle as it's typically assessed at the time of registration. But that's usually buyer's problem.

There is capital gains tax, which is quite common these days given the crazy prices on used cars. But again, it doesn't matter how one gets paid for the car. If you made a profit - you have to pay the tax. Adding Bitcoin to the mix just complicates things because both the car sale and the Bitcoin sale are separate tax events. (edit - even if you don't make a profit on the car you have to track Bitcoin cost basis)

In any case, planning tax evasion on the internet, particularly given such a unique transaction, is asking for trouble.
