1401  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 16 grams of 24k Gold for sale looking for .69 bitcoin($500) on: November 30, 2016, 05:29:28 PM
16 grams of .999 purity gold (worth around $613) selling for .69 BTC (only about $500).please message if serious. I would love to get a deal done ASAP

Suspicious as hell, as other users have already pointed out.

Lets see some pictures please, along with a note with your forum username and the current date - and if the gold is hallmarked with the 24ct purity stamp, or 999, then a close up of that would be great as well.

All of that said, you will not get "a deal done ASAP". Escrow will be mandatory for a new user like yourself. I suggest taking this gold to a pawn shop, you will get instant cash. If you want bitcoins, you can then use those funds to buy from an exchange.

Good luck Smiley

Thanks Zepher!  After seeing coin@coin's post a few minutes ago saying theirs had landed, I was thinking BTCC was shipping faster than they were saying.  I can wait patiently until Christmas though.

All good bud Smiley Its the rolls of chips that are the cause of the delay, not the sets. That said, if they ship them sooner, then that would be awesome for everyone. The moment they arrive with me, they will be forwarded to MJ.

Cheers.
1403  Other / Archival / Re: . on: November 30, 2016, 04:45:29 PM

1407  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Kialara 2015 Original Gold - 2BTC waiting on: November 30, 2016, 03:43:23 AM
That is one fine set of Kialara's, Michail. Damn. They won't hang around long.
1408  Other / Archival / Re: . on: November 30, 2016, 02:43:41 AM
I think you could even justify a fee for the legwork.  I'm not sure the people able to order from China and facilitating this are even breaking even because of their time.

When you take the time involved in managing these group buys into account, you are quite right, we don't. As mentioned already, these are arranged to help the community here who are unable to buy these items themselves. There has been someone asking for a breakdown of the 0.06 BTC per person, hence my post. Anyone who is not happy about the charge is free to request a refund, but this will then mean that everyone else will have that bit more to pay..  Undecided

Thanks Smiley
1409  Other / Archival / Re: . on: November 30, 2016, 02:27:08 AM
To anyone wondering why there is a charge of 0.06 BTC per person, this is the breakdown.

There is just 8 of you in this Group Buy, and the more people involved, the cheaper it is for everyone concerned. With just 8, this means that you will be paying more than usual, I am afraid.

*Total Shipping Costs - 0.48 BTC

FedEx from BTCC: 0.24 BTC (see picture)
Reshipping Fee split between the UK reshipper and minerjones: 0.1 BTC
VAT/Customs Duty/48hr Express Courier Service to the USA: At least 0.1 BTC total, likely more.

Anything remaining from the 0.14 BTC will be refunded between all participants. The last 2 times these orders were made, the reshipper actually used his own fee to cover some of the VAT, as the amount charged to participants was not enough. These group buys are not done to make money off of people, these are done to help people who are unable to order themselves.

Thought this post would help clear up the reasoning for the 0.06 BTC per person.

Thanks

You may have finally found one, good luck!

A gold is out of my price range and by the look of it i would be very lucky to find another for sale so I'm thinking of looking around for a silver to buy as an xmas present to myself, anyone know how much i would be looking to pay for a kialara silver now?

(Sorry to derail your thread a little)

Hey bitkilo,

The last few 2015 Kialara 1 BTC Silvers I sold went for around 0.7 BTC each.

Hope this helps Smiley I do not have any left for sale unfortunately, they sold out quite quickly.

Cheers

1413  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How was Casascius able to make his coins so cheap? on: November 29, 2016, 11:38:25 PM
If you take a look at his original post, he sold the 1 BTC coins for 1.25 BTC, and that extra 0.25 BTC was about $2 at time of posting... How was he able to create and sell the coins so cheap?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=41892.0

If they are the brass ones, IIRC they were made at the same place that car wash token were made... brass token coins are not expensive to produce, especially in the large amounts that were made by him.

That really is the craziest thing.. the brass ones were indeed made by a car wash token manufacturer - hence them being so cheap to produce and sell. The security of these coins is down to the holograms, as I would imagine the brass tokens would be pretty easy to replicate.

The silver coins were produced by a mint (don't know which one) and were therefore of a much better quality. Again, the security of Casascius coins is the holograms. If those were easy to counterfeit, then I imagine we would have seen some a decent amount of fakes by now. There have been instances of fake holograms, but to the trained eye, they were easy to tell apart from genuine ones. Any Casascius collector would be able to tell the difference. The manufacturer of Casascius holograms is unknown (to me anyway), and I hope it stays that way actually.
1414  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 5 BTC Casascius series 2 for 8 [btc] on: November 29, 2016, 10:37:27 PM
Bump! Updated price to 8 BTC

Sorry man, I doubt anyone is going to pay your asking price of 8 BTC for this coin, which would likely grade in the low 60's when sent to ANACS.
I just picked up the exact same coin off the forum, graded at MS68 (there is just 5 at that grade) for close to $700 less than you are asking.
1415  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [PRE-ANN]Crypto Imperator Pure Gold Bitcoin Coin on: November 29, 2016, 07:35:38 PM

Pretty shitty to ding your trust based on conspiracy.  Was any of those allegations proven?  People should remove that crap if not.

I'm not going to derail this thread by explaining everything, but if you check the references for the trust (which was left a month ago), you will see it is justified. I am more than happy to revise my feedback should CI explain what happened to everyone's satisfaction, instead of creating a thread admitting being able to control the account in question (cyclops) which made bids in nearly every CI auction ever, and then promptly locking said thread and allowing no discussion to take place. This was shady behaviour at best. I am willing to discuss this more in private, but I will not be responding on this thread again.

Thanks

1417  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auctions Closed - Offers Welcome] NaTTyMiNd on: November 29, 2016, 03:13:07 AM

Zepher I have been MIA for a few days and Natty and I did not have an opportunity to discuss your offer, but if it is officially withdrawn no hard feelings. I have just been tied up with work and its been about a week since Natty and I last had a chance to discuss the coin sale and this is a decision we both gave to agree to I hope you understand that.

As Og had mentioned a lot of hours were put into the creation of the glass, the custom wood frame and the full size artwork and to those looking to just buy the coin without taking into account the time and collectable factor of what we are offering I think the regular run of the coin will be the best ways for the non collectors to get in on this amazing piece.

I am an avid collector of Crypto Collectables and I have a rather extensive collection. I had mentioned to Natty if we didn't get something I considered a fair value for it then I would love to add it to my Private collection.

No hard feelings either way, mindtrip Smiley I felt my offer was maybe considered too low and had been ignored, hence me retracting it. If not, then I apologise for the misunderstanding. My reasoning for thinking this is because during both auctions numerous members asked one simple question, which was not answered, while other questions were. This question was: Do these coins have any amount loaded on them? The answer to that question was easy to see when I checked the addresses of both coins, and found zero balance for either LTC or BTC. The fact remains, you guys could have taken the time out to answer this, when time was found to answer other questions. Anyway, let's put that aside..

I can appreciate that a ton of time, effort and money went into the creation of these coins and accompanying items, so I do understand the reasoning for your high starting prices for them in the auctions. The fact that you are hoping for a large figure for these coins, to bring down the cost of the regular versions, also makes some sense. Sadly, as we all know, the market is pretty stagnant at the moment, though it is showing signs of recovering, which is great news. That said, 2.5 BTC for an unloaded coin is a lot more than most users would be willing to pay right now whilst the $/BTC value is as high as it is - this works out to ~$1,830 per coin, which is a lot to any collector, hardcore or not.

I understand why the price is high, I just personally think that 5 BTC for both is unattainable right now, though I would love for someone to come in and offer that, and to prove me wrong Smiley

If my offer of 2 BTC for 00 and 01, with the artwork and polyhedron is something you will seriously consider, then have a discussion amongst yourselves, and give me a shout. Maybe we can work something out. Smiley

No problem, I wasn't ignoring your bid, I just didn't have time to process its affect and talk with Mindtrip about it. I purposefully gave the window to Friday because any accepted offer takes some crunching on the back end to develop a unit price 50 coin run. We are limiting it to 50 and want to keep it affordable, while not losing a lot of BTC doing it Grin

Not a problem NLC, as stated above I do understand your reasoning for the pricing. I am just not able to stretch to anywhere near 2.5 BTC each for these.

Cheers guys Smiley Hope you get a better offer than I am able to make, I really do!

Thanks!
1418  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auctions Closed - Offers Welcome] NaTTyMiNd on: November 28, 2016, 11:46:18 PM
I'll offer 2 BTC for both 00 and 01, along with the accompanying artwork and polyhedron.

That is, 2 BTC - for both coins, along with the extras that come with each coin.

This offer only applies to both - I am not interested in obtaining just the one.

Thanks for your consideration either way Smiley

No comment towards my offer then? I thought it was a pretty reasonable opening offer. Obviously not.

Withdrawn. No hard feelings Smiley Good luck with the sales of these 2 beauties.
