1441  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion. Paycoin XPY CoinStand Mineral. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: April 23, 2015, 10:09:14 AM
PayCoin is still dropping, why people are still trading it is beyond me since every Coin you buy is putting money in their pockets.
1442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon POS - Feature Upgrade - Themes/Multisend/LiteStake/Split on: April 23, 2015, 09:56:44 AM
Would also like to know what thinks about the PayCon Logo.

Like the color, too.
Maybe he means our PayCon guy pippi on PayCoin could offend some People (especially those who lost much money in XPY. but especially they should join the CON)
A more professional look/design, maybe?

I think itīs name should stay, at least for now. Later changes possible. Everything possible with Con Smiley

I don't think it would be offensive to people who lost money in XPY, I really like the slap it together kind of feel of it all where you grab stuff you like and just integrate without really giving too much thought to it. I love the name but if we truly got bored of it and XPY died completely then we could change it and that is really the beauty of it, with a good team working together you can literally change anything you want about it as long as it is beneficial towards everyone.

I've been thinking a lot about doing a "Muggle Relief Fund" we should try to gather a HUGE portion of PayCon (5-10% of the Coins) and donate it to everyone that lost money in XPY. It would be great way to expose ourselves to the world, I can put in a fair amount for this (up to 250k CON), what do you guys think?

veritas saphere is responsibe for getting me final specs of the fork [blok time, block size etc] - then we will fork this to make all investors happy and raise the price + fix current errors.
on the other hand due to current error - we are the fastest coin online.
awesome, you should put it up for final review before you decide to implement it so that EXCL owners can vote and discuss any other changes.
I will post all the planned changes here so that we can discuss it. So far we are planning to fix the block time and set it at 30sec. We are going to reduce the staking frequency to fix the wallet.dat file bloating, our aim will be around 2-3 times per day. Also the reduction of the block reward, by 1 coin per year. This is what we have decided on so far.

We have also been discussing whether we should increase the block size. This would be useful for things like assets and tokens on the exclusive blockchain and increasing the potential scalability. It would also make exclusive coin more useful for some of these other applications of blockchain technology which can be build on top of the EXCL chain. I am suggesting that we increase the block size to 5MB. I thought i would post this idea here and get some feedback on this since there are downsides to increasing the block size, many of these parameters come down to a balancing act so it is all very much up to debate. Exiting times for Exclusive Coin, we are evolving. Smiley

No point in increasing the Block size if you have 30 second Block times since you would never fill it anyways. If you want to slow down the wallet.dat from bloating then you can change the split thresholds in wallet.cpp, doesn't even require a fork.
1444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Colossuscoin v 2.0 (CV2) | [X13] [PoW/PoS][in 100% PoS Stage][new Upgrade] on: April 22, 2015, 11:51:52 PM
Okay. But there is another problem. How do I release my colossuscoin v1 locked in Crypsty? The wallet of Crypsty is under maintenance to several days.

This is the thing we are struggling with the most, we have ColossusCoin2 running and continuing to update but ColossusCoin 1.52 has so many bugs that it's hard to identify what are the specific issues. To just swap it over directly with Cryptsy puts a situation where it hurts the ones who have COL in their wallet that they can't send or even sell if they want to.

I like those graphs, well done Smiley

And I second Crestington's suggestion of a comparison with the 750% rate, and with the effective network rate (and if you're really bored one evening, with the effective rate of those addresses that do actually stake Tongue).

Well done presstab!

Yeah I was thinking that it would be good to be able to see your entire wallet balance as % gains and loss against the inflations rate, are you winning against the money supply or losing?

Can I just say it's nice being part of a project mainly surrounded by Hero Members  Cheesy

Should we say Super Heros?

Vic_Velcro is a part of Bitcointalk as well, he ran Litecoindark until he personally ran it into the ground, locked the community thread and threatened to sue it's own holders if they wanted to try to rebuild it. I didn't own any litecoindark but a couple friends did and so I left him negative feedback. You can see the thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=905643.0

1447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XPY Paycoin Paul Revere, TheMage, The community on forking, the future etc. on: April 22, 2015, 12:57:07 PM
If they dislike the leadership so much, the community could just fork it on their own and get everyone to upgrade to their version..

That's what I said and everyone gets morally objective Cheesy

Btw, congrats on going to moonbase, did you get to get to try out the stimulator? they got anti-gravity there? It looked HUGE is your pictures Wink

I believe if this is discussed in the context TheMage is referencing via non-paycoin the discussion could be much more in depth and less emotional.

Humans tend to throw logic and rational thought to the wayside when emotions are involved.

In a decentralized coin if the community chooses to fork a coin for any reason it is up the consensus of the coins node/wallet operators to determine the correct fork to move forward.

In many ways it is likely that it wouldn't be done since the community around PayCoin has more desire to pass blame than to come up with solutions. I don't think it could ever be viable, atleast not without removing the current leadership since it relies on trust and you cannot trust someone or some group who goes out of their way to scam everyone. I could see if it was something that just didn't work out because of market conditions or even lack of experience (as lots of things may seem great but aren't viable), but the mining and the Coin was made to benefit just a few and to pocket as much money as possible.

Making a fork and changing stuff is easy, if you have trust of the community holding it, then there is nothing you can't change. I'll take PayCon here as an example, muddafudda asked for someone to take it over but was experiencing a problem with syncing (due to difficulty). I didn't ask or wait for approval of anyone, I put in the fork with a 5 day delay to change the minimum difficulty, increased the rewards, cut off old clients and fixed a couple small issues and added new icons and images, I notified all the exchanges and sent everyone a personal message, more than 70% of all Coins and all services were upgraded in under 24 hours.

Why make any qualms about putting in a change? People want someone to takeover their Coin, make the decisions for them and develop it, if you just assume leadership and make the changes that are positive for everyone then people would happily go along with it. It doesn't even have to be exact, would it make any difference if PayCons Block reward was 40 Coins instead of 30 Coins? not really since you don't have the Hyper-Inflation of compounding interest, at a flat rate of growth then it would even leave room for an increase later on if wanted. The important part is really putting the seed in place that there is the expectation of change, the fluidity of changing things for the benefit of everyone. In relation, it is actually higher inflation than PayCoin but 350-1000% reward over a year is beneficial if everyone gets the same Stake rate because everyone gets boatloads of Coins and would be more likely to just give them away.

Crestington, read his latest posts https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=99433 They work on the exchange and may be able to add Colv2 and exchange our Colv1

That would be good, I have been very busy with PayCon lately but also making a little time to do work on ColossusCoin/ColossusCoin2. I am a bit worried I haven't had much word from Sudo, it would be great to get some more involvement from everyone.
1449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon POS - Feature Upgrade - Themes/Multisend/LiteStake/Split on: April 22, 2015, 10:00:48 AM
this is coin is good and dev can obviously code but this coin aint going no where with that name. if you change it you will see new levels

Then it's just like every other Coin, better to be different.

its your call, wouldnt want to see hard work go to waste very rare in crypto. most coins are scams

Personally I don't think a name matters too much because a person could see it as PayCon and pass by but the more adventurous ones would take a chance so you gain more knowledgeable people.

but given the amount of people in crypto is not alot, to get some serious attention a good name would be a start. i only say change it because your committed and talented. if your working on a coin with a name like paycon building stuff that 90% of released crypto coins haven't i think people should take you more seriously. you need new logo revamp and then this could seriously be a competitor. one name change and see the buzz it causes.

i will keep watching but for now will be on the sidelines. great work here dev your talented dont let it get wasted.

To be honest, I love the name and idea of it because it makes it fun and non-professional. I like that it gives the freedom to add whatever you want to it without worrying if it would fit the image and having no deadlines lets you just build at your leisure. Can something become a huge sensation called PayCon? That seems like a challenge to me, if people don't like it or are a little offended by it, then that's great! a little negative PR can do wonders and this is a lot of fun for me.

What were you thinking about a new PayCon logo? I like the black and yellow but maybe we can spice it up, I'm happy to donate some Coins towards a revamp if you have something you think would look good.

Did anyone else think this when reading retardbase2 ?

Or is that just me ?

You don't need a PayBase to Stake your Coins like that.

https://hashtalk.org/topic/36879/paybase-2/84

Makes me sad to read that some not sold a single PayCoin until now with all those warning signs.

Next "projects"

CoinStand- sweet crypto only product platform.

Paybase2- Online wallet

Mineral- exchange with debit cards

One thing is for sure, if i ever choose to commit (online-) fraud i rather choose USA instead Cambodia or so.

Seems you can pull everything off there without many consequences for a long long time - authoritys seems slow Wink

Crazy to still be holding on until now, we should do a "Reflief Fund" for them, I bet that would cheer them up Wink

I don't know why you would even need PayBase2? You have PayBase 1,2,3 and 6 different forums with 5 people each.

Ownership of the blockchain?

Decentralized governance, property, ownership and claim?

The ultimate question, who deserves what?
1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon POS - Feature Upgrade - Themes/Multisend/LiteStake/Split on: April 22, 2015, 05:53:58 AM
I got more questions if you don't mind, maybe they have been answered, but in case anybody else is curious it might not harm to repeat.

1) If I receive some amount of PayCon to a wallet address they stay in a block size of the amount received until they stake or I split them, right?
2) If I split them myself, can I send from the same wallet address(PCam3Ez7QQfrErkkwo2duZCq82NJepDvUG) to the same wallet address (PCam3Ez7QQfrErkkwo2duZCq82NJepDvUG) for the purpose to have different block sizes?
3) If I receive small amounts to the same address they will combine to stake together automatically, but if I receive small amounts to different addresses they will not combine, right? And I risk that they will never stake in that case?
5) Why small blocks have a risk to never stake?
6) Are you that guy in ''proof of developer'' picture?

Thanks

1) Yes, if the transaction will stay in the same as the amount received. The default Stake threshold is 500 which means if you have multiple transactions below that amount they will combine until larger than 500, or if larger than 1000 it will split into two Blocks.
2) Yes, you can select the addresses and and any Blocks you want to use with "Coin Control" it is located in the "Send Coins" tab and click on "add inputs"
3) Yes, this whole statement is correct.
5) At 14 days the Coinage of the Blocks stop growing, Coinage is measured by the number of Coins in the Block * days past, these compete on the network. If the average Block to Stake at 3 days is 500, it would have the same weight as a Block of 90-100 at 14 day age (ballpark), while some smaller Blocks would have a chance to Stake at lower difficulty, the smaller they are the less chance they have to Stake, if small enough then they may never Stake.
6) lol, no
1460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XPY Paycoin Paul Revere, TheMage, The community on forking, the future etc. on: April 22, 2015, 05:35:45 AM
Yes this is great, lets talk about ownership and ownership rights within a Coin. What do you do to change that? Who benefits and who loses within the ecosystem? Who's right is it to blacklist or change parameters of a Coin without the approval of a certain party if viewed negatively in public opinion?

Yes lets?

I was saying that it is possible within the technical rules of the Blockchain that any one group, if large enough can exclude someone and change the rules of the Blockchain and there is nothing they can do about it. In this case, the coding had a bug in it that was never fixed and another group came in and put in a fix and changed the rules of the Blockchain. What do people do then? Stay on the old chain with the broken wallet, or the new one that works? It does however decease the favor of the 350% Prime addresses down to 100% but also increases the 10% Stakers to 100%. In terms in inflation you then have a problem of an even higher increase of compound Staking, and with the minimum age of 1 hour it still amounts to around 10,000% yearly and relying on scraping in order to keep inflation down would not work either. You have a situation with many chosen wallets selling into the whole market which Stakes at 5%, the ones with 100% wallets wouldn't really care if price was going down, they can still sell Coins at lower prices and make profit.

I think the group which needs to actually have a say in the issue is the PayCoin holders who do not have any interest in or management of Prime Controllers.

The solution presented of simply forking the XPY code to remove all Prime Controllers and their principle seems to be the easiest and most effective solution which would allow the community to have that say.  Individuals and organizations could simply choose whether or not to move to the new fork or stay on the old one.

As coins would technically exist in both chains primes on the old chain could compound stake or raise stake rates or whatever.

If Prime Controllers or any feature were to be coded into the coin it would be a different story.  For now I'm not sure why a peercoin clone needs hyperstaking wallets?

The point of doing anything with XPY would be to actually develop the unique features.

If prime controllers were removed then all holders gain 5%  but that's not too bad, just the 1 hour compounding since it gives exchanges a lot of sway, an exchange can hold upto 25% or more of the coins (the lower the stake % the more likely people keep on an exchange).
