1461  Other / Meta / Re: [PARODY] The Infinity Snap. Bitcointalk edition? on: July 17, 2018, 02:40:13 PM
I have increased the frequency of posts I report, especially in the Press and Project Development sections. And as a consequence,  my number of unhandled has increased. Unfortunately, I do not know which section this is occurring. The Welsh guide helps a lot in choosing how to report. The @welsh guide helps a lot in choosing how to report, I recommend everyone to read and use it.

But being honest, I was sad that I was not banned from reddit.com/r/thanosdidnothingwrong. : D

1463  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to create site like blockchain.info ? on: July 17, 2018, 05:12:38 AM
May I ask why you'd like to create such a site? Is it for a new coin or are you just looking to create another block explorer? There are already a handful of block explorers for Bitcoin. If you're looking at it from a business perspective then the market is pretty much saturated as it is.

i am looking to create BTC block explorer, from a business perspective.
i didnt know there are others too ..

Thanks though. ill see which one is more popular and has less competition .

There is a big list of others block Explorers. Including the one that was created by theymos, Block Explorer, on November, 2010.

Here is a list with others that you could use as inspiration.

1464  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-17] Coinbase Cleared to List Crypto Securities on: July 17, 2018, 02:00:55 AM
I was reading the Bloomberg article about this. They add that Circle (Poloniex) is trying the same strategy. So this could start the next bull run. Especially for the projects that were speculated, Cardano, Basic Attention Token, Stellar, Zcash and Ox./////

Quote
Coinbase isn’t the only runner in the race. One of its competitors, Circle Internet Financial Ltd., said last month that it intends to pursue registration as a brokerage and trading venue with the SEC so it can help investors buy and sell tokens deemed to be securities. The firm also plans to seek a federal banking license to provide more services to customers.

The next step for Coinbase is integrating its technology into the new subsidiaries, the spokesman said, without providing a timeline. That means making sure employees have the proper licenses and reviewing how the company reports data and onboards customers.

Coinbase said Friday that it’s looking into letting users trade five new digital coins -- Cardano, Basic Attention Token, Stellar, Zcash and Ox -- but can’t guarantee it will list the tokens. If it does add the assets, the move would signal a turning point for Coinbase, which currently only lets customers trade Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ether and Litecoin

1465  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: July 16, 2018, 11:46:58 PM
Newb question: What is a hash? How is it generated?

Hash is a mathematical algorithm that takes a large data of any size, make a calculation and create another smaller and fixed size data as output.  It is designed to be a one-way function, that is hard or almost impossible to be reverted.

In Bitcoin we use "secure hash algorithm 256". Bitcoin miners need to produce proof of working buy solving the puzzle to be rewarded. They need to combinate all the inputs ( the most recent transactions+timestamp+reference of the previous block ) with their own Nonce. The combination of Nonce + inputs is tried several times. When the hash value with less or equal to the target of the network is found the miner is rewarded.

1468  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-07-16] New York Looking for Crypto Miners on: July 16, 2018, 04:38:57 AM
Bloomber

New York just cracked open a door for electricity-sucking cryptocurrency miners to take advantage of some of its cheapest power supplies.

State regulators approved a new rate structure Thursday for one upstate utility that will allow miners interested in running operations there to negotiate contracts. Massena’s municipal utility will review the contracts individually while shielding the rest of its ratepayers from increased costs. Just four months earlier, New York cleared 36 other municipal power authorities to charge miners a higher rate than that paid by other customers.

New York is among the hydro-rich regions of the world that cyrptocurrency miners have targeted in a search for cheap power. From Quebec to Iceland to China, locals are raising concerns that miners will soak up low-cost hydropower supplies and raise power bills for everyone. That’s left governments including New York trying to strike a balance between attracting new business and protecting residents from rising energy costs.

“We must ensure that business customers pay a fair price for the electricity that they consume,” New York State Department of Public Service Chair John Rhodes said in a statement Thursday. “However, given the abundance of low-cost electricity in Upstate New York, there is an opportunity to serve the needs of existing customers and to encourage economic development in the region.”
1469  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Make multisig address not danger? on: July 16, 2018, 12:55:55 AM
But what is the context of this, why would you need to create one? Are you negotiating with him? Multisig wallets are widely used, including on exchanges and on web markets that use BTC as a currency. A multisig wallet is not necessarily a scam. But it all depends on how you will use.
I believe the most practical and secure way to create one is by using Electrum on Tails OS. Here is a step-by-step tutorial.

If you will use to negotiate with someone, the ideal is to add a third person who would act as Escrow.
1470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Really possible to send money anonymously through Bitcoin? on: July 15, 2018, 11:57:56 PM
You can purchase p2p in localbitcoin.com or on paxful.com. After receiving, send to a mix website like bitcloak or Chip Mixer. It is very, very unlikely that the person who received the resources will be able to find out anything about you.

You should also use Tails

Bitvest pagaram agora. É uma boa mesmo. A que o darkstar comanda que é sensacional. Mas só aceitam Sr. Sad
1472  Other / Off-topic / Documentarie about Charlie Ponzi. 50% profit in 45 days, or 100% profit 90days on: July 14, 2018, 04:17:32 AM
https://youtu.be/6pxxS07PZn0

Tebaldo Ponzi; March 3, 1882 – January 18, 1949), was an Italian swindler and con artist in the U.S. and Canada. His aliases include Charles Ponci, Carlo, and Charles P. Bianchi.[1] Born and raised in Italy, he became known in the early 1920s as a swindler in North America for his money-making scheme. He promised clients a 50% profit within 45 days, or 100% profit within 90 days, by buying discounted postal reply coupons in other countries and redeeming them at face value in the United States as a form of arbitrage.[2][3] In reality, Ponzi was paying earlier investors using the investments of later investors. While this type of fraudulent investment scheme was not originally invented by Ponzi, it became so identified with him that it now is referred to as a Ponzi scheme. His scheme ran for over a year before it collapsed, costing his "investors" $20 million.

1478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / ETF proposal needs better comments on SEC page on: July 12, 2018, 03:30:22 AM
https://www.sec.gov/rules/sro/cboebzx/2018/34-83520.pdf

The SEC's page is accepting comments on the new ETF proposal. This time ordered by the Van Fund. But so far, the comments are Derp. They're just making the proposal look stupid. In fact, it leaves the impression that the whole community is.
Please, if you believe you are able to convince the SEC to accept the ETF proposal leave a constructive and well-grounded comment demonstrating a view that perhaps no one else has about Bitcoin technology.

It is very simple, fast and they even accept anonymous comments.

1480  Other / Meta / Re: Global Moderators fired? on: July 11, 2018, 08:28:01 PM
They're not 'fired' per se, but as with most staff if you become inactive after x amount of time you usually have your mod status removed. Grue and Salty haven't really been active moderating for quite some time and both their mod payments have been zero for the past two months and grue's even longer than that, so that means they handled zero reports and probably why they were de-modded.

In the Portuguese section, one of the moderators has not been online since March. It's been over 14 months since he last wrote something on the forum. I do not believe we need another moderator since the other one is managing to keep the section spam-free. But when he is unable to access, we have a spam flood.
