541  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "We found 2 results related to your search" blockchain.info is crazy. on: February 05, 2019, 04:44:53 AM
I mean, I personally don't like BitcoinCash and I definitely don't hold a single satoshi of it; but in a business perspective, this is just blockchain.com simply catering to a wider audience whether we like it or not. The BCH community is definitely a lot smaller compared to the BTC community, but their number is still significant; hence blockchain.com is trying to capture their demographic. So instead of the BCH community using https://explorer.bitcoin.com/bch, they can now use blockchain.info as well.

They could easily put a dropdown menu instead of "go" where you would be able to change the coin that you wanna search. Or maybe something else before clicking on the "go". And on the main page, Bitcoin BTC is select, people could select Bitcoin Cash if they want to search for BCH. The same for ethereum.

BTW, it would be a cool feature of a search engine to start to offer. Google, duckduckgo or bing could easily do this.
542  Economy / Service Discussion / "We found 2 results related to your search" blockchain.info is crazy. on: February 05, 2019, 04:36:04 AM
There is no such thing as 2 address on Bitcoin. So, why do they found 2 results?

543  Economy / Auctions / Re: CryptoNinja.co - 300k views, get new referrals every day on: February 05, 2019, 01:55:03 AM
The SEO could still be improved of course.

CryptoNinja.co made me thousands of dollars in 2018 and it will make me thousands more in 2019. If you don’t understand the value, I am not sure what to tell you.

Do you have any proof of those claims? If you make so much, it would be easy to show some proofs. You BTC addresses is empty ... https://www.blockchain.com/pt/btc/address/1KrUYRtmxzHUJ8vBk7uHU35k9RLW5qz8Yw
544  Local / Brasil / Re: Projeto de Lei PL 2303/2015 coloca Bitcoin sob a supervisão do Banco Central on: February 04, 2019, 11:26:37 PM
Me desculpem reviver esse tópico antigão.

545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many dollars of BTC purchases would it take to go to $10,000? on: February 04, 2019, 09:41:28 PM
Technically, the answer is one cent.

Let's say for some reason all the exchange are momentarily down. I decide to sell to my friend at a price of $10,000. He comes along and decides to buy 1 bit for $0.01. For a fraction of a second, until the next sale is made, the price of bitcoin is $10,000.

Marketcap is simply the circulating supply multiplied by the price of the last sale. It isn't a great statistic to use, and completely meaningless when you try to apply it to altcoins and tokens.

But no one uses the price of the transaction between you and your friend as a reference. If the exchanges, whose prices are used by the indexes of the most ranking sites, are not working, the main price indicators will not be working either.

Coinmarket shows how they calculate the price here

This guy has made some calculation about how much it would need to make prices go up in one minute on gDax Crudely put — It is possible for someone with access to $23 million USD to pump the price up by .557% in one minute.
But it is old, from last year.
546  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Deep cold storage on: February 04, 2019, 08:59:13 PM
You can create, save, and encrypt your private keys. There is only need to use a wallet if you want to send to some other address using that private key.

Bitcoin DOESN’T exists. It’s not a real thing. Or rather, the only “real” thing is the ledger itself which is already public to everyone everywhere.
547  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Palm Beach Confidential is very Similar to Casey Research? on: February 04, 2019, 05:41:30 PM
LOL
It's exactly the same layout. It seems to me that palmbeachgroup has more time and is better known. Maybe that's why caseyresearch used the same layout and offered similar services.

I looked at the names of the people involved and there was no one in common.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On reversible transactions on: February 04, 2019, 05:20:07 PM
What is the difference between your suggest and using OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY (OP_HOD ?

Or using Hashed Timelock Contracts (HTLCs) ?

This feature should allow a transaction to expire (i.e. be reversed) unless the payee (i.e. the person you pay to and who is to receive the money) confirms it from their side.

So it would need to pay 2 times the fee?
549  Economy / Gambling / Re: SKOBET - Anonymous | Honest | Unique | Fast | On Chain | Bitcoin Only on: February 04, 2019, 12:48:30 PM
"On Chain | Bitcoin Only"

You should explain this part better, maybe with a paper. What you are saying is that this casino will work almost as if using ETH or EOS?

Has Bitcoin's blockchain become a platform that accepts smat contracts? Because if it is not, it's just a centralized contract. That is, you automated the process of withdrawing funds, but still have full control over it and could change it at any time.

So first: why are the banks/fiat bad?

Second: How does Bitcoin fix this?

Third: What would make the average consumer care?

There is no such dispute until death between Bitcoin and Banks. Credit cards do exist, and are not banks. Paypal does exist, and it is neither bank nor credit card. Transferwise exists, and is not bank, nor credit card, nor Paypal.

Bitcoin offers options for various financial opportunities. It is different and unique.
551  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockstream's Bitcoin Satelite WWW w/ OuterNet USB Reciever. on: February 04, 2019, 05:06:25 AM
Fantastic post and quite didactic. The photos are clear and it is easy to understand how to build this project. You have put some costs, but do you have any estimates of how much it cost for everything?

And is there any estimate of how many people have built and are keeping this project active in their homes or businesses?
552  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-04] Ex Bitcoin Foundation chair claims billions ahead of Mt.Gox victims on: February 04, 2019, 04:28:35 AM
The profile of Peter Vessenes here on BitcoinTalk

Bitcoin foundation was definitely one of the worst organizations related to Bitcoin.

As for this process, it is incredible that this has only been revealed now. Certainly, everyone who was hoping to receive something from the Mtgox process should be revolted.

But they were the representative of Mt Gox in the US and Canada. Perhaps the defense against this lawsuit could be in this matter of licenses if coinlab could do what it said it would do. But alas, they need to have someone contesting it.

Mt. Gox, the owner of the world’s dominant Bitcoin exchange, announced today that they have selected CoinLab as their exclusive partner in the United States and Canada. As of March 29, all US and Canadian customers currently transacting with Mt.Gox will transact through CoinLab, Inc.

Eu nunca tentei isso. Talvez valha para campanhas de longo prazo como a sua. Mas a maioria raramente parece aceitar.

554  Economy / Auctions / Re: Auction - Wallet with 8000 Ethereum on: February 04, 2019, 03:04:30 AM
This wallet is now valued at almost 1 million. It has already been worth a few million in the past. Incredible, and very disturbing. If even with the possibility of recovering 1 million it was not possible to find the password, it shows that it is always necessary to think a lot about how you will protect your investments.

556  Economy / Securities / Re: Investing in Casino Bankroll - What's important for you? on: February 03, 2019, 10:54:50 PM
I believe, as well placed by @buwaytress, that the big problem is custody. As transparent as it may be, you can still disappear with the all BTC that we send to you.  Usually, Casinos are companies in tax havens with a fragile justice and laws that favor much more the casino than to the players.

So the great possibility of attracting investors and forming a large bankroll is custody. Find a way to offer security that goes beyond legal or the need to trust people who run the casino.

Something like an escrow or smart contract that always ensures that profit and investment will return to investors.

Qual foi a primeira pool de mineração do BTC?

slush pool?

E o primeiro tópico anunciando foi esse

O comentário do Satoshi
ribuck's description is spot on.

Pool operators can modify their getwork to take one additional parameter, the address to send your share to.

The easy way for the pool operator would be to wait until the next block is found and divy it up proportionally as:
user's near-hits/total near-hits from everyone

That would be easier and safer to start up.  It also has the advantage that multiple hits from the same user can be combined into one transaction.  A lot of your hits will usually be from the same people.

The instant gratification way would be to pay a fixed amount for each near-hit immediately, and the operator takes the risk from randomness of having more or less near-hits before a block is found.

Either way, the user who submits the hit that solves the block should get an extra amount off the top, like 10 BTC.

New users wouldn't really even need the Bitcoin software.  They could download a miner, create an account on mtgox or mybitcoin, enter their deposit address into the miner and point it at anyone's pool server.  When the miner says it found something, a while later a few coins show up in their account.

Miner writers better make sure they never false-positive near-hits.  Users will depend on that to check if the pool operator is cheating them.  If the miner wrongly says it found something, users will look in their account, not find anything, and get mad at the pool operator.

Eu tenho um outro tópico salvo sobre uma discussão anterior a essa, só que não encontrei. BTW, a Electrum 3.3.3 está chata de atualizar. Tem realmente que deletar tudo dela, não tinha reparado ainda.

The strategy followed by suchmoon and Vod seems to be the best; Give 4 or more sMerits when you find a good post. So they never let them accumulate too much, and they do not need to plan a new strategy to distribute them. =)
