1461  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin for beginners: Five tips you should know as a beginner on: November 30, 2022, 07:46:23 AM
I recommended online wallets for those just starting crypto currency. Cold wallets are  really expensive. An external storage source costs almost 300-350 dollars as of now.
I also mentioned that's if you actually read the post that overall cold wallets are better but " for a beginner it's advisable you start with online wallets, later on if you wish to diversify your assets you could purchase a cold wallet"

There’s other wallet that will make newbie money safe without the use of cold storage for starter. Electrum is the most popular non custodial wallet that is perfect for newbie. The hot wallet example that you choose is just not good since they are all custodial wallet which doesn’t have privacy or full control to the wallet. I agree that cold storage is too expensive for beginners but it is good to invest first on the safety of there storage before they start buying there first Bitcoin.

Now from your second reply I can see you're against the Altcoin idea. Yes it's a risk but isn't that all crypto is all about "sometimes you win, sometimes you lose".
You are right though, anyone venturing into Altcoins should start up with a small amount just incase.

You should focus on Bitcoin alone since your thread title states Bitcoin for Beginner. Adding altcoin will just add risk to newbie due to its worst volatility that might cause heavy loss to them. You should consider the safety as top priority when your aim is to give an advice for newbie like you.
1462  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals! on: November 30, 2022, 07:11:45 AM

Nice win, congrats! Missed all the promotions as I was stuck at work all day but would probably also have bet on Harry Kane to score. I know, he didn't score in the previous games (gave some assists though) but he can always make a goal. Too bad I also bet on Kane to become topscorer this worldcup.
I am keeping an eye on the matches but also stuck sometimes in work that didn't have time to watch or even bet on any of the match but work is also important along with this world cup having lot of big promotions.Harry Kane have the probability to score a goal as he is good striker having 7.58 rating. But it depends on our luck also that bet goes in our favour.

Yes Harry Kane is a good striker but there’s also other player that is now much better on him and he is now giving way to his team mates to score since he is the captain. His top priority now is to win while striker like Rashford is the one dealing with the shot call and score for England. This way is working on them base in there previous matches. Betting for Harry Kane to score anytime is not that bad compared to other bet promotion that has extra hard condition that it needs to set the first goal for the match that is very hard to achieve even if you are a very reliable striker like Kane.

The Mbappe promotion to first score on Tunisia is really tempting since he score on both matches of France while Tunisia is not that strong team but there’s a chance that other striker from France might set the first so I definitely skipped this bet.
1463  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance aml/kyc in the eu on: November 29, 2022, 11:15:30 AM
Is anyone else getting a message when they login in asking for more personal info regarding KYC and AML
What I find most shocking is they want a facial scan as well as a letter with home address

I am previously up to date with it all ie passport and photo of me with it
These new requirements seem an over reach
Do I need to do it, currently I am not buying btc or other coins on the platform but am day trading
Can I hold it off or what is the story

This is the standard KYC procedure of Binance since they are using AI technology to verify all your documents that’s why they need full scan of your face to match it on the documents the provided. All users that undergo KYC experience that same procedure so that’s not unusual. You can try other exchange that doesn’t require KYC for a certain withdrawal and deposit limit like Bybit.

I believe all exchange has this kind of verification and some has stricter requirements that you need to hold a piece of paper with date and name just to verify your picture is updated. Just use dex if you are not comfortable on KYC like Bisq.
1464  Economy / Gambling / Re: MegaPari | Gambling&Betting | Deposit in Crypto! on: November 26, 2022, 11:01:29 AM
I like it when there are numerous varieties of markets. 100% first deposit bonus promotion is cool because we only have to wager it five times. It's a multi-bet with minimum of 4 events but it is perfectly fine because 1.40 and above are accepted. I have a concern that is left bothering me. How do I find this accumulator bet of the day? I am exploring the site for half an hour already and I cannot find it. Do it need to deposit first? A minor issue I encountered when browsing was when the site crashed sometimes.
Hey. Now the welcome bonus is even 150% with our Black Friday offer. You will find the accumulator bet of the day down on the main page and on the right side of the page for current games (mainly FIFA now).

that is a good offer for yesterday , hope that there are many who responded in your bonus given , bad thing that i skipped playing this week because of some personal issue.
but still have funds inside so I might use this for next weeks betting.

You still have time to participate on this event because this promo will run until Nov. 30 and we still have 4 days to enjoy this boosted deposit bonus. This offer is very generous for having a x20 wagering requirements only unlike other casino that typically requires x30ish and above to clear the bonus.

I’m just waiting for my salary on Megapari campaign to participate on cool promotions. I’m many user already participated on this due to the number of feedbacks received on this thread.
1465  Other / Beginners & Help / Newbie Beware: Metamask is now tracking users IP on: November 26, 2022, 10:53:24 AM
On the recent update of the Metamask, They are now tracking users IP of all the user of there wallet if your using there default RPC. The only way to avoid is when you use your own node or 3rd party RPC. Most newbie only use the metamask default RPC that makes them exposed on this new privacy rules of metamask.

They said that they will just use it for AML purposes but this a big attack on user privacy without even knowing it. Metamask is the most popular web3 wallet in crypto space so I’m sure a lot of user will be affected.

Don’t be a victim of this privacy attack. Use hardware wallet on storing your funds!

1467  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀MOONBET.IO Community-Owned Crypto Casino 💸 $100 USDT Deposit Bonus on: November 26, 2022, 06:34:42 AM

….
I can come up with on my own is owl games basically "parterned/bought out  smaller struggling platforms in order to market their exact platform and games players who supported different blockchain networks.. if someone knows please inform me. AGAIN  this is all my personal experience and viewpoints in the time I've been a part moonbet "community owner" but I am always eager to learn

To give you a shed of light on explaining what’s really going on. Moonbet partner with Owl for the web3 casino software sharing on the casino. Owl games is a software provider for web3 casino like Moonbet and they share same interest on there business. We don’t know exactly the full extent of the partnership but it involves profit sharing on profit made on Owl software. Moonbet token supply is insanely high that makes the price depreciate in long term. Truly Moonbet casino is community since it’s decentralized but there marketing is crumbling due to the limited funds available. They are using Mbet tokens as reward for there marketing that makes the price suffer.

The only way to revive the price is to have a steady profit from the casino to cover all the expenses. Since this casino is community owned, so all the expenses of the casino will be coming from the community too which is the liquidity of the tokens. Only the profit of the casino will make the problem solve and its long term to achieve due to competition.
1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could have Satoshi faced if he made himself known from the beginning on: November 25, 2022, 04:47:05 PM
He will eat death threats for his breakfast, lunch, dinner and might be dream of it when he sleeps at night, if he would fall asleep with those kind of stress he'll be having when he reveal himself in the public since the start. Greedy powerful individuals will be the top danger for him, because no one wants in the government for fiat to be overthrown by Bitcoin in the future.

I could never imagine Satoshi Nakamoto having a peaceful life if he did show himself in the public when he released Bitcoin.
This what makes bitcoin more interesting, the idea that we don’t know who he is except by his name. Bitcoin being decentralized and adding the sense of him not being known makes people attracted to BTC more. There is mystery behind it that we wanted to see how long bitcoin can be and how much it can reach despite all the news. It’s a good decision to Satoshi to be unknown to still have life and not be threaten by people who might use him for their benefits.
1469  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree that an employer should hire employees who are smarter than him? on: November 25, 2022, 03:49:51 PM
Well let’s take Elon musk for example he hires people that are smarter than him who works very hard to build his own empire and he gets more super rich and while their employees just gets their normal pay. This is how Billionaires get rich and their employees earn the little they do.

I don’t think billionaires can do without some smart people around them, left alone they can only do as little as they can, and I doubt if there is any right thinking Employers that would even hire an employee who aren’t smarter especially when the employees are in very important position.
Elon is a good example when it comes in doing business, it’s indeed important to get smarter people who can do the job well at the same time contribute ideas into betterment of the project. His SpaceX project as well his other projects are proofs that smarter people can do his ideas. The only thing needed is the owner should have a quality of a leader that he can use in his employee that even they are smarter from him he knows how to handle them and will still follow him as their superior or boss.
1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⭐HunnyPlay.com | Best Crypto Casino 🎲 180% Welcome Bonus 🎁 28% Cashback on: November 25, 2022, 03:16:21 PM
Although there are doubts when you started this announcement you can still proceed in the right direction by still buying a copper account, copper account not only gives you the privilege to post images but it has also become a sign/badge that you are a developer or administrator of a project and it's much more important if you're managing a casino.
Second, merge your posts and avoid too many bumps the least that you don't want is to get your account locked because of forum rules violation, after this you are good to go.

Copper membership sole purpose is to skip the merit accumulation part for rank up just to get the member rank privilege. Copper Membership doesn’t give the impression for a being a developer or whatsoever as @Theymos stated on the copper membership ship when he first introduced this feature. Buying copper membership is already redundant for them if posting of image is there only intention for purchasing it.

By popular demand, newbies can now pay to have some of their restrictions lifted. If you pay the fee, you become a Copper Member, and you can post images. That's the main point of this: allowing newbies to post images.
1471  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Reset Binance 2FA Authentication still under review? on: November 25, 2022, 03:06:22 PM
The above suggestion of Ayers is the only way to contact the real live support. You to send the details of your case on chat and let the bot reply then click the not relevant option below the reply of the both. The “Yes,Transfer to customer service” will appear on chat that will transfer you to live support with 5 minutes waiting time. This is the fastest way to follow up your concerns rather wait for the email because there’s a lot emails per day on binance and there’s a chance that your request is flooded already.

1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free Worldcup prediction from gambling platform exist? on: November 24, 2022, 01:35:19 PM
Now that the world cup is ongoing what gambling platforms are giving out free football predictions that can earn some one good money with zero money involve? Huobi exchange claimed they are doing the same but once you embark on the journey you will find out that it's not real free.

You can refer on @Royse777 thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5420882.0 for the list of casino that gives free prediction for the world cup with zero money involved. And also Sportsbet is consistently giving away free sports prediction contest on games and round board on different sports without any money requirements on it.
1473  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is bitcoin difficulty and coinbase on: November 24, 2022, 07:16:00 AM
Understand it one topic at a time focus first on Bitcoin and ignore first other terminology that you mention. Those terms is use for altcoins which you will understand later if you master the basic. Bitcoin the most popular and safest coin in the crypto market which I suggest that you should focus on it first. You can use the search function of the forum or the google search to understand the basics.
Mining difficulty, Coinbase, Cold storage, and hot wallet are all about bitcoin, although altcoins too can make use of cold storage and hot wallet.

Fork is very important to know as well if you want to know much about bitcoin, especially to know that those altcoins like Bitcoin cash (BCH) and Bitcoin Satoshi Version (BSV) are not actually bitcoin but altcoins and not created by Satoshi Nakamoto.

What are purely pertaining to altcoins mentioned in the OP are DeFi and Gas.

I do understand that they are related but the OP seems completely don’t have any idea on crypto especially terminology and giving him the definition of random terminology related to Bitcoin will not gonna mark on him rather than focusing on one topic for research at a time. He will encounter this terminology on the road to his research and that’s the best time to search for the meaning.

I’m sharing base on how I study Bitcoin when I’m newbie. I was overwhelmed too on this terminology when I browse the forum so I make my research slow and focus first on Bitcoin definition and function. I encounter many difficult terminology when doing research but I use google to understand it as well as the context that I’m reading that contain that term. In this way, I can understand further the term and it’s use compared on reading plain definition of terms of random crypto terms.

FYI, My comment that you quoted doesn’t relate on what you post, I didn’t read the content of your post when I made my opinion since I’m already on my reply tab before you made your post. I’m just late to answer here because I saw other thread that I became more interested to reply. I’m sorry if my post looks like I’m not giving credits to your contribution above.

You can add the word ELI5(Explain Like I’m 5) on the terms that you want to know so that all search result that you can get will the most basic and easy to understand since user use common words just to describe the topic.
1475  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦉 Owl.games 🦉 Web 3.0 Crypto Casino & Sportsbook - BTC-Metamask-Walletconnect on: November 24, 2022, 06:28:42 AM
Hello,

I inform you that problem is solved. We made an agreement with OWL.games, I have no complaints.

Anyone waiting for proof from OWL.games about their bankroll, I can vouch that they have quite a lot of it, as I got much more than 8k USDt.

Thanks to the community and the OWL.games team, I hope we all learned from this situation.   Smiley

I don't really get it. Why you take $8k instead of $85k from your report before? Because you are afraid you won't get anything if you continue this, so you are ok with $8k?
I do remember you said their bankroll was only around $300k and it's small compared other casino, but now you said they have quite a lot of it, plot twist?

You will never know the truth because this maybe part of there agreement so that he can get his partial profit in exchange for erasing the damage done brought up by this user. This is a win win situation for both party since the victim lose his balance on his own while Owl offer him a better proposal that both party will be happy when they part ways.

We as the public viewer only doesn’t have any authority to question the result since the victim itself already satisfied on the outcome. Let’s just move on along with @cryptostuneris acceptance.
1476  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you bet ESports or table tennis? If so, this is a must read. on: November 23, 2022, 09:55:41 AM
Too many scams with ESports and table tennis. Even in Tennis a lot of games are fixed. I can't trust anyone that is trying to sell fixed matches.

Do you have proof that match is fixed? Besides how can this be a scam if the outcome is already determined before the match begin? Unless game results varies base on the number bets then it can be categorized as scam but an e-sports game with predetermined result is acceptable since it’s can be categorized as dice game since your bet doesn’t affect the result.

Is match fixing is already proven on esports? I don’t deny the possibility but how will the casino classify the match as fixed?
1477  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]Google Form Email Scam on: November 23, 2022, 07:37:52 AM
It has been discussed before on this forum, you can see it here using this link: Scam from Google Form, Crypto Donate. I have known their intention from the moment I saw it on an email I used for some purposes that I know could receive phishing messages.

It is a scam.

People should avoid phishing messages, they should be mindful of where they are submitting their email, where the attack attempt originates from.

I just create it here for newbie awareness since I still receive this email recently which means they are still rampant on this kind of scheme. What intrigues me here was they are using google form instead of the typical junk email that might be misinterpreted by newbie that they subscribed to giveaways.

I will lock this thread soon. Thanks for again for the heads up charles.
1478  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Warning]Google Form Email Scam on: November 23, 2022, 07:13:33 AM
I’m receiving this email since last year but I didn’t bother to look on it until now that I became curious on what’s the content since I don’t subscribe on any google form using my personal email.

At first, A newbie might mistakenly look it as legit email since this is through google form invitation when you check the sender.

But later on you will be directed to other website to claim your supposed donation grant. I patiently finish all the task so that I can see what will be the outcome. After a couple of minutes of clicking to finish the task, they ask me to to donate for others with small amount of Bitcoin in able to claim the money I collected. This is where the scam part enter.

A gullible newbie might be tempted to risk small amount of Bitcoin in exchange for the potential huge amount that you can get by donating to others. I think this scam website have many victim since they are very persistent on sending me an email for a long time.
1479  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie I stay off shitcoin and it paid off, Bitcoin is the king. on: November 22, 2022, 10:13:01 AM
While staying away from the so called shitcoins is money saving on one's pocket, don't let this make you miss the chance to invest in promising altcoins which perform better than bitcoin on several occasions !
Btw to make money in the world of crypto, and anywhere else the name of the game is called "risk"! If you can't risk hen you can't not win.. Like the gamblers say "Go big or go home."
Actually it all boils down to risk apetite. Yes investing on shitcoins are scary and chances of losing money here is big but if you can able to surpass those then who knows your pocket would be 100x of your money invested or the opposite youll lose it all. Its all about chance, if you wont gamble any then you wont lose any nor gain too.

This is right, But maybe we should clarify first what shitcoins is really being described by OP, some people categorized all altcoins as shitcoin but some people only categorized worthless altcoins such as meme coin as shitcoin.

Ignoring completely those shitcoins aka meme coins are the best thing to do no matter what is the risk appetite of the user since it’s a complete gamble while investing on altcoins aside from Bitcoin is what we are dealing for a risk assessment. People should know how to allocate there portfolio base on the risk they are entering for that specific coin. Ignoring altcoins that has a lot of potential to grow such as blockchain token is just like fishing only small fish while the big fish is free nearby just because you are scared to venture out.
