1501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Store your seed phrase offline on: January 05, 2023, 08:09:49 AM
In my opinion, online storage is equally dangerous whether you store it on Gmail or iCloud... are not safe. I like to print my seed phrases on paper and use plastic to make them more durable, super convenient to store, and easy to move. I was thinking of using small steel plates to carve the phrases, but I really don't trust handing them over to the blacksmith or any stranger.

LastPass is the worst password manager app I have ever seen, it has been hacked many times before, not just once in 2022. Currently, I also use a password manager just to create strong passwords and manage regular passwords, never used to save bank accounts or important emails. Honestly, I never wholly trust online storage services, they are only for convenience, never guarantee safety.

and things went very badly, but it's not just thanks to Xavi
it is also thanks to the company that understood that it was time to put their hands on the wallet and therefore they bought
clearly they have to run in at least a couple of seasons, you can't expect magic to happen in one season
Exactly, without the support of a company that has strong funds, Barcelona will forever have difficulty achieving its goals. Like other teams with weak finances, they cannot compete for the title but they only keep themselves in the competition and make profits through sales and broadcast rights.
But as a big team, of course Barcelona will be able to attract investors to pour out a lot of funds there. Most recently, Spotify is their sponsor for the next few years and maybe Barcelona will hook up more sponsors if in each different season they are successful enough to compete at the top of the standings. I know, things are never easy and Xavi isn't magically changing Barcelona's form any time soon.
that's right, they just have to play (well) and move on
if they continue with this growth rate next year they will give Real Madrid a hard time
It's not difficult to understand, I don't understand why there are fans who want everything right away
it does not work like this

Exactly. The situation was not created overnight. And the situation is also not going to be fixed overnight. That is something people are trying to understand. They are thinking just because Barcelona got a new coach and they also have some players who cost Barcelona a lot of money, Barcelona should be able to perform well.

But that is not the case. It took a long time to reach this position, and it will take care of time to get fixed as well. If everything could be done overnight, everyone could have walked around with six-pack abs. And obviously there, to defeat the purpose of having to earn something.
1503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 02, 2023, 04:12:41 PM
Well, we can see that everyone says that it's the end of CR7's career, but seeing that he's a player like CR7, I don't see it that way, I think that there can be many things to do, the player has a great future, The fact that he has gone to Al-Nassr does not mean that he is a totally buried player, he is a player who can play at any level, and I hope that if he can regain his confidence and potential in the Middle East, it would not be bad. idea, the great goalkeeper who was from Napoli in Italy will also be playing next to Ospina, so it could be that the player that everyone thinks is finished is not finished, he just came out of the failure of Portugal once he went to train at Real Madrid, and it is a pity that Florentino Pérez has not caught him, even if it is 6 months.
When I said it's sad to see the end of his career, I'm not talking only about the choice to go to Al Nassr, but in general, because he's 37 and we know the end is near, even for him.
We won't see anymore his memorable matches in Uefa Champions League, we won't see him making a hat trick in an important european match or playing among the best players in the world, this is the meaning when I said about the end of his career.
He'll probably make good matches with Al Nassr, lot's of goals and he's probably going to be the best player of national championship hehehe, but again, it's sad.
Maybe he'll end his career in Sporting, and the team have a good chance to play the UCL.
And there's a chance to see him at Euro 2024, but I don't know about being a starter or a bench player, like in Qatar 2022.

Right now, I see a lot of people making dumb comparisons between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi after Ronaldo joined Al Nassr.

A lot of people are saying that PSG does not have any Champions League and Cristiano Ronaldo’s current club also does not have any Champions League. So they are equal!

Those are really dumb comparisons. I am not saying that Cristiano Ronaldo made any mistakes or anything like that. All I want to say is that he made the right decision. No Champions League-playing team is willing to take him on for such a high salary. Because there are a lot of younger players who actually perform better than him. And they can also dedicate their time to the team and the club for a longer period of time.
1504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 02, 2023, 03:49:54 PM
My opinion is that Chelsea are currently suffering through a tough period at the moment. It is true that they have quality players, but I do not think that the coach is able to play them in the most convenient way for them. There is a perception that Graham Potter is not a very experienced coach in the top tier leagues. I suspect he is having difficulties adjusting to his new situation in the Premier League.

Chelsea's next match is against Manchester City. They are on a winning run and I think they will have a really hard time beating Manchester City. This is because the addition of Erling Haaland has made them an unstoppable force.

A big challenge will await Chelsea. After only a draw against Notingham Forest they had to fight Man City in the EPL and in the English Cup. Potter seems to have to fix the motives of his players. Maybe Potter can also ask for some new players in the transfer market this month. At the moment there hasn't been a good enough improvement to Chelsea's performances and this is a setback of achievement. They are unstableand this I had predicted when Potter was chosen as coach. In this game of course I think Man City will win 2-1.
1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 02, 2023, 03:37:42 PM
The Champion league fixtures between Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are scheduled to take place on 15th February 2023, and by then Borussia Dortmund may have given out their supper star midfielder; Jude Bellingham. If this happens, it will make an easier game for Porter's side. The only problem is the lack of coordination in the pattern of football porter has introduced to the team. With the absence of Jude Bellingham and the arrival of Christopher Nkunku and Enzo Fernandez, I think Chelsea has an upper hand in qualifying for the next stage.
Speaking of this Dortmund midfielder, Jude Bellingham's future is still a hot topic of discussion in the current transfer market. For this reason, Dortmund as the legal owner of the player will have a meeting with Bellingham. As reported by HITC, Dortmund asked Bellingham to meet club management, the reason why Dortmund wanted to meet Bellingham was so that Die Borussen heard directly from himself what he wanted. Dortmund want to make sure whether Bellingham wants to be sold in the next summer market or stay at Signal Iduna Park. according to the AS report, it is 95 per cent clear that Bellingham will leave Dortmund next summer.
As for the match against Chealsea later, I think even though Bellingham will still survive this season. Chelsea, is not an easy opponent to beat. Christopher Nkunku, rumors are that he will leave Leipzig in the coming season. so, it is not certain that Chelsea will get Nkunku's services this season. In essence, this match is a little interesting because the two clubs have not been at their best. I think we have to make sure first, the performance of these two teams when playing matches in the Domestic League before playing the Champions League match.

Christopher Nkunku is still not a Chelsea player and that is exactly the case for Enzo Fernandez. And so far Jude Bellingham has not yet left Borussia Dortmund. Teams like Real Madrid and Manchester City are currently interested in signing Jude Bellingham but it is still not 100% sure.

So, I think we should keep these players in the equation to make the match on 15th February. I think this is going to be a really competitive match between Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund. However, I personally think that Chelsea might come out as the winner.
1506  Economy / Economics / Re: Every passing year seems progressively worse on: January 02, 2023, 04:17:33 AM
I didn't find anyone here who is not upset due to ongoing inflation. This is getting worse - if we don't hold our expenses and do not put a pause to the window shopping habit. It is hard - but then its very important as well.
There's no need to feel upset about things that are happening right now, because we also can't stop bad things from happening. And as for the problem of spending or daily shopping that has become a habit, I think everyone is also very aware of this because every expense is of course calculated beforehand.

After all, no one wants to spend their money shopping for one day and then the next day they have to feel hungry, so there is no need to be disappointed with any current conditions as long as we can still improve every expenditure and continue to look for better income every day on a regular basis

I don't know if you believe me, but I don't feel bad that inflation is happening, I know I'm paying more than upfront for living expenses. But instead in times of crisis, I took advantage of the situation and generated a stable and higher income than in previous years. It can be said that I have had a desirable 2022.

Crisis, inflation is a part of the world, it comes and goes and will return in the future, we can't escape it, let's learn to live with it and find ways to turn it into an opportunity, not an is fear.

But people who are making a lot of money in times of crisis should not spend it lavishly. Crisis is also an opportunity that only comes once in 10 years and 15 years, take advantage of the investment, we will receive a worthy reward when the crisis is over.
1507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 01, 2023, 01:18:31 PM
Thanks to Barcelona for ruin my bets and i thought after Marcos Alonso scoring goal on 7 minutes the match will be easy for Barcelona but apparently i was wrong that Espanyol has performing well although they only have 22% ball possessions and displayed negative football but they can steal point from Barcelona at Camp Nou so this is important point for Espanyol although their position still not safe but at least Espanyol can avoid to lose from strong team and for Barcelona this is indeed dissapointing result because they failed to win from mediocre team and currently they have equal point to Real Madrid which is not good for them
I also lost a bet on the Barcelona vs Espanyol match. The initial guess was that the game would end in a draw due to last season's statistics of Barcelona only managing a narrow win from two games, but was hesitant to press the option.

Barcelona had a better chance of winning against their rivals after Alonso found the back of the net in the opening 10 minutes of the first half (minute 7) thanks to Christensen's assist.

With this draw, Real Madrid continue to disrupt their concentration in the race to win La Liga this season. Their points (Barcelona and Real Madrid) are equal. But the next match Barcelona must play an away match against Atletico Madrid which is relatively difficult.

Barcelona had a lot of chances to get ahead in the match again. Actually, if it was not for the goalkeeper of Espanyol the match could actually have gone in favour of Barcelona. You know, Barcelona needed to win this match because even though right now Barcelona is at the top of the table, Real Madrid is going to cause them a lot of problems.

I think this draw of Barcelona against a very weak opponent like this, is going to make things a lot harder for Barcelona themselves. Now they basically do not have any breathing space.

Even I am agreed about this India and Pakistan relationship having impact on this all but not as mostly peoples are talking about this all because Pakistan cricket can survive and development without any Indian support but right now main issue is domestic issue which is creating mess up and not allowing common peoples to do things in positive way most of the time we have too much political influence and military influence as well which is not allowing any development and peoples are fed up even recently we have nearly 1 million peoples already out of Pakistan for their better future.

Now in 2022 we have three big teams in Pakistan but sadly due to bad management and poor things they fail to attract peoples and having too many problems which are surely hurting more change of management in PCB is also having after shocks as well, so all things are going against common people's mindset which is surely not positive.

Actually, Pakistan is failing in terms of politics. The country is absolutely unstable at this moment in terms of politics and I think we all know that the people who did not want Imran Khan to be in power, are not in power by themselves. Everything is so chaotic right now in Pakistani politics. I hope they will be able to overcome this situation.

And if we talk about the situation of cricket in Pakistan it is also not very positive right now. If you look at the glory days of Pakistan cricket and if you look at how Pakistan is performing and also the management of Pakistan cricket we will see a very big difference between them. But it's not like the quality has significantly decreased. Pakistan cricket is suffering because of politics. And I also agree with you on the management part. Pakistan wouldn't have been in this position if management was good.
1509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto (Bitcoin) and children personal Finance Education on: January 01, 2023, 09:49:48 AM
Bitcoin or finance should be taught at the right age, you should not think that just teaching them early will make them rich when they grow up. You teach them is one thing, how much they absorb is another. That is why education is divided into age groups, you can't force 1st graders into 12th grade curriculum, that scares them more than they enjoy learning.

My child loves bitcoin pictures, but that doesn't mean he's ready to learn about it by age 4, so I don't recommend early bitcoin education for kids. If he's really interested in bitcoin later on, it's not too difficult to teach, or he can learn by himself if he's passionate enough.
1510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I invest in cryptocurrency or start my business? on: January 01, 2023, 09:35:07 AM
I have been working as a freelancer for years, and I have saved some reasonable sum of money. now knowing the full potential that cryptocurrencies have, I am now confused on what to do if is to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish a business while still working as a freelancer, I don't know the one I should do at moment, if to invest in cryptocurrencies or to establish my business.

Crypto is a risky investment, if you want to invest, you must first have knowledge about it, don't rush to invest even bitcoin, because I see many people recommend only putting money in bitcoin. It can be said that bitcoin is safe, but with its volatility, being a complete newbie like you is also very easy to panic and can lose if the mood is not stable.

As for opening a business, if you have experience or knowledge about it, you should invest in it instead of investing in cryptocurrencies. All make a profit, so choose the one you feel is right for you. As long as it works for you, you can make much money without investing in bitcoin.
1511  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My goal for 2023 on: January 01, 2023, 09:13:57 AM
Since many people have goal for 2023 and yet most people have common goal like hodl Bitcoin, never sell etc etc,. If you avoid exchanges then how would you sell your crypto when the price you wanted did happen?. In my opinion, it's not completely a good ideabro avoid exchanges, why?, selling crypto P2P is also risky and not all exchanges shouldn't be avoided. There are some exchanges that are reputable where you can trust your funds in their exchanges though you are right at some point where there are are exchanges that we should avoided.

The complete elimination of centralized exchanges will never be possible, that is true. But as I understand it, avoiding exchanges doesn't mean we should stay away, stop using them but use them with a plan. If you just focus on accumulating and holding bitcoins, there is no reason to put your bitcoins on exchanges, right? But if you are a trader using CEX is a must, to avoid risk, leave a small amount on it or always withdraw all funds to a non-custodial wallet at the end of the day. It's annoying to lose time and pay withdrawal fees, but it's the only option.
1512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 31, 2022, 06:38:29 PM
The main reason why Pakistani players are not getting the money that they probably should be is because of the economical situation of Pakistan, not being great. And Pakistan not hosting international cricket in their own country is also a reason for Pakistani players not being highly rated or paid. That is my assumption.
Yes, when the financial condition of a country deteriorates, every organization in that country has to go through financial deficit. Cricket is not out of it. Moreover, when they have to abstain from international matches in their own field for a long time, it is natural that their board will also be financially weak. But I believe if they can create a natural environment like before then their board will be strong as well as the financial development of the players will be achieved.

The biggest problem is that Pakistan cricket is not currently having a good relationship with the Indian cricket board and that also goes for the politics of both countries as well. And we all know that this has been a reason for the ICC not taking good care of Pakistan. And all the other cricket boards also respect that Indian cricket board as far as I think. They also did not want to have any kind of problems with the Indian Cricket board. I think that’s why they also did not visit Pakistan for a series. But times have changed. Actually, it has been a long time, but the mindset of people in power, both in India and Pakistan has not changed at all. That is the reason why we had all the recent drama by Jay Shah.

Anyway, I think Pakistan cricket is improving. Slowly, but surely it is improving.
1513  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: December 31, 2022, 01:08:55 PM
They need a helping hand and if someone who has never been poor before, you may not understand what the actual situation is.
Words can be hurtful when you're talking to one of them and even you give the best advice in the world about investing. You just can't compare your situation to theirs. And that's because you're not experiencing the true hardship of being poor, they want to invest as well and be well in life but just can't because they can't afford to delay the crumbling of their stomachs.
The OP was a little hard on poor people, I agree on that, and while it is true that it can be difficult to convince them when it comes to matters related to money, that is to be expected, after all the poor need to take care of their money as they have so little of it, so they are not easily convinced to part with it, besides I do not think bitcoin is the best place for them to invest their money as at the first drop on the price they will get scared and they will want to sell their coins, so it is better they use whatever savings they may have to create a small business and try to increase their income this way.

Yes, we are not in their situation, we never know what they are going through, we should not reprimand them or show contempt when they do not listen to our advice, or do not invest. If we can't help them, please don't look down on them.
And you're right, it's hard for the poor to make money, unlike us, so I would never recommend bitcoin to them either., they are not suitable for risky investments like bitcoin. Even we are investing in bitcoin, but none of us can guarantee 100% bitcoin will bring us profit, giving advice to others is not a wise decision.

1514  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing against 2024 on: December 31, 2022, 12:54:43 PM
My total focus will be on Bitcoin. i have no faith in altcoins. it's centralized and could fall on its face at any moment. i have seen many projects of altcoins fall in this bear market and many barely holding their ground. some are even afraid to list their tokens in the market because of the current bear market situation.
their fear is reasonable and that's why they are bad for long-term investment plans.
only smart thing to do will be to fill your bag with Bitcoin

If you are risk averse and don't have much knowledge to choose an altcoin to invest in, then bitcoin should be the only coin you hold. But not all altcoins will die and crash as you have seen this year. You look at ETH, it's also an altcoin, but it co-exists with bitcoin and stands firm in the market no matter how many altcoins crash over the years. I also don't encourage people to invest in altcoins, but I believe that not all useless altcoins are scams.
1515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 31, 2022, 09:48:47 AM
Players are not very interested in playing for Pakistan because we have seen that a lot of great players did not get even the chance to play for Pakistan. When a player like Imran Tahir doesn’t get the chance to play for Pakistan, you know that there is something wrong with the selection panel. I agree that most Pakistanis are based on Pakistan itself. But the situation in Pakistan has hardly improved and it is always better for the players to play for other countries. And I don't see why players should still be very passionate about playing for Pakistan if the situation is not going to improve. I know they are getting paid decent salaries. But only salaries are not going to be enough for the improvement of Pakistan cricket.
We got a new Chief Selector Shahid Afridi. Everyone knows who is he? And his role in the Pakistan cricket. And we hope he will become a good selector and in his monitoring I hope we will see more improvement in the Pakistan's team. And best players will get a chance to play in the team and will hold their positions in the team.

It is actually very good news for Pakistan cricket. Shahid Afridi is someone who has always stood firm for truth. At least now we know that there can be genuine mistakes made, but there is not going to be any nepotism or favoritism going on. At least not on Shahid Afridi’s watch.

Some of the players are receiving decent salaries and in recent times the wages have gone up. But it's nowhere close to what the pig-4 players are getting. Inability to participate in the IPL is definitely one of the main handicaps. Tahir was able to play in the IPL because of his South African citizenship. The PSL has limited potential, because of prevailing laws in Pakistan which limits the cable TV audience and advertising. There is not much difference in GDP per capita between Pakistan and India, but the revenues for PCB are only around 1-2% of that of the BCCI.

The main reason why Pakistani players are not getting the money that they probably should be is because of the economical situation of Pakistan, not being great. And Pakistan not hosting international cricket in their own country is also a reason for Pakistani players not being highly rated or paid. That is my assumption.

In Pakistan things never been ideal for the game and players which is a big cause for many players are mostly settled in England, and few other countries for their better future even many are completely out of this game due to their financial issues because they are not able to have better income as well here in Pakistan.
This is strange. A number of players moved from Pakistan to other countries in the past and settled there. One example is that of Azhar Mahmood who got the British passport. Then we have Fawad Ahmed and Imran Tahir. But it is quite rare nowadays. Most of the Pakistani players are now based in that country itself. And if I am not wrong, the salaries have also increased by quite a bit. On top of that, the players are earning handsome amounts from the PSL and other franchise leagues such as the Abu Dhabi T10. The situation has completely changed in the last 5-6 years or so.

1517  Economy / Economics / Re: People have learned about money printing on: December 30, 2022, 01:09:26 PM
Government and central banks can't print money all of the time, because it will affect the economy, what I mean is too much money circulating in the economy could trigger inflation, and the other way around. In order to gain a lot of cash, you are the one responsible, if I'm not mistake, because parents should be the one earning money to provide their kids needs and wants, not the fiat printer.
Why can't they? Who will stop them?

Theoretically they know that printing more paper money will lead to inflation and money losing value, but they can't stop, it's like drug addiction whenever they suffer from economic problems the more money they print even though they know the disaster.

We saw this happen in Venezuela and in many countries as well. You need a cart to transport money to buy some daily groceries. This is very disgusting!!!

They are not addicted, but they have no better solution. During the covid 2020 pandemic, if the government does not print more money to save the economy and save people, then I think you cannot live until now. We all know the consequences are great, but we hardly have a more effective solution. But this year, they are trying to fix everything, that is raise interest rates, which also causes some pain, and the people who suffer are none other than the people.

You should not compare corrupt and stupid governments like Venezuela with other governments. Many governments are still doing very well in controlling inflation.
1518  Economy / Economics / Re: Effect of the FIFA world cup on Qatar's economy on: December 30, 2022, 12:56:32 PM
Qatar spent around $290 billion to host the 2022 World Cup. If they are ready to spent that much, then obviously they are not looking at the ROI. Qatar is not a major tourist destination, and in the future also the situation is going to remain the same. Even some of the infrastructural facilities that they have constructed will sit idle in the future. We need to remember that Qatar is a small country with just around 313,000 citizens (and an additional 3 million expat workers). Unless the population goes up by 10x in the near future, most of this $290 billion will go to waste.

Similarly to you, I think they have spent an enormous amount of money and cannot get a return of their initial capital, let alone make a profit off of it. Obviously, their goal is not profit they want the world to know about them, about their culture, country, and people, I think that is what they are aiming for. A small country with and small population, but they are known as one of the wealthiest players in the world, so it is not surprising that they do not need the money.
The organization of the largest football event on the planet should not be viewed as a business festival, but unfortunately, it is gradually becoming apparent when all countries want to host it for that reason.
1519  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 50% Down Move Incoming? on: December 29, 2022, 12:07:49 PM
I don't want to compare the current situation on the Bitcoin market with the 2018-2019 market. In 2018-2019, the bearish market lasted several months and the price started growing from 4K to 8-10K USD during the spring of 2019. I don't expect a massive price growth in the spring of 2023. The crypto winter will continue to 2025 and even beyond.
There's no point of drawing conclusions based on price patterns, that happened years ago. Of course that the possibility of the Bitcoin price dropping down to 8K USD is real. It's a bear market after all. A global recession is coming and the FUD is everywhere. The big investors simply don't see Bitcoin as a safe heaven.

I am not a believer in technical analysis but looking at the world economy and what is going on in the markets, I also predict another crash in 2023. Fed rates are falling, but the recession is closer than ever, even many countries have already into recession, so expectations of a bull run in 2023 are highly unlikely. I don't think bitcoin can drop to 8k, but 10k-12k is possible.

Honestly, not only big investors but even myself can say that bitcoin has never been a safe haven or a safe haven in times of crisis or inflation. Bitcoin has yet to reach that level, it needs more time to do so.
1520  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin survived the Christmas market pressure on: December 29, 2022, 11:44:17 AM
We are at the 16K range for too long so it maybe a sign that we reached the bottom so if the right time comes then possibly next year the bull season may begin.
Don't be so quick to confirm it. You remember when bitcoin was at 18k-19k for a long time and people started to believe that we had bottomed and we were going to go up from here, and then the crash of FTX caused bitcoin to drop below $16k, making everyone's speculations and expectations completely wrong. Bitcoin has been above the $16k resistance for too long, but that doesn't mean we've finally bottomed out. Let's look at the outside situation, the economy, war, inflation... all are still negative so it's hard to expect that we have bottomed and the bull season will start from here.
We shouldn't consider it not going down anymore, but we shouldn't expect another FTX type of deal all the time neither. That happened and dropped the price and that's understandable but that doesn't mean that it is going to keep being like that forever neither, it would be pretty hard to keep it that way.

This is why I believe that we should be a bit more less expected of lower level stuff, could be a lot better in the long run. This is quite difficult to handle but we should be able to handle it in the long run. I personally do not expect another bottom because I am not expecting anything like FTX to happen again over and over, it would be pretty difficult.

I don't expect it, that's my prediction, even though we've had some big crashes this year, I feel like the bottom hasn't been set yet. People are still holding their bitcoins very tightly, and that's what the big players don't want, the smarter the investor, the fiercer the market. It is only when the weak hands are completely eliminated from the market that we will be able to see a strong recovery. The market is still not wholly dependent on supply and demand to develop, it is still being manipulated by those with the most money, IMO.
