1581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Say Bitcoin is scam on: November 12, 2020, 08:16:59 AM
It's 12 years since Satoshi released Bitcoin whitepaper and since then, the numbers of believers have been increasing. Which turns out that it's good.
Cryptocurrency is freedom, and who doesn't?
Decentralization isn't scam. It's open source. It's the best gift. Only a person without proper understanding will think it's a scam.

And that is indirectly saying that the OP has no proper understanding.  Tongue If you will look at his post history, he has some bitterness to bitcoin or crypto but wonder why he is still here wasting his time, if he doesn't believe in bitcoin. Anyway, we don't have to assume that bitcoin is scam because it is not. Plain and simple.

i think the question to ask the @op is that how many scam project he has come across that lasted for more than 10 years and still going strong? before people start making irrelevant post about what they have less knowledge about, it will be best to make some inquiries and research as well, the op just lack understanding just as you already stated, he is just seeking attention and nothing more.
1582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Public perception of Bitcoin as payment method (survey) on: November 12, 2020, 07:57:03 AM
No one would click a random link provided by a newbie also no one would be interested is sharing their personal details to any random person. At least I am not comfortable!

If you have any specific questions, you can post here in your thread and we will answer those but refrain from gathering persona details whatsoever!

You're making a point but I think he cleared that point when he said that the data collected will be used in anonymized form. Also, I looked at the survey and from the best of my knowledge, it truly is anonymous. If you don't feel comfortable as you say, you can fill the form in your browser's incognito mode.

BTW, the survey is great.  Cool

i don't think there is any need to be concerned about personal data because none is require, i completed the survey and no personal information was require except age and sex educational qualification which are not directly tied to any specific individual, this is base on general evaluation, anyone can comfortably do the survey, well everyone know what they consider a sensitive information,
anyways here below is a screen shot of part of the survey, i found it interesting..
1583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO, IEO! Which one do you want to return again? on: November 11, 2020, 01:08:44 PM
IEO never left so i wonder why you put it as return, till now many project still go for ieo whenever they want to raise funds for their project, even very few project still run ico too although not as much as previous years but there are still few running,
however, ieo is definitely the better option, no need to state the reasons why since we all are already familiar with them, but ieo is still consider more safer than ico any time.
1584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ether Wallet Scam on: November 11, 2020, 10:34:55 AM
Please whatever you're doing don't save your ether wallet private keys online avoid saving you private keys on your mail It's a death trap the best way to save your keys is on a paper and keep it somewhere secured maybe in your grandma photos album or a place you can easily get access to any anytime, there is this new scam going on a random message would just pop up on your mobile with two options "Cancel" and "OK" meanwhile "OK" means Cancel while "Cancel" means  OK they interchanged the options to get you traped a friend of mine ether wallet was hacked yesterday through his mail and all his assets taken away. The messages can not be avoided the best solution is to keep your private keys offline

Sad thing to have happened to your friend but don't you think the heading of your topic is a bit misleading! at first i thought eth wallet has resulted to scamming activity, after reading the post it was clear the scam took place as a result of of the info stored in the email, you make it sound like eth wallet is at fault,
anyways it has been over stressed here that people should avoid storing their priv key on their email on any online file, the danger is high,
and we should also learn how to avoid opening unknown mails, you can either flagged them as spam, put on blacklist or delete immediately without opening, you never know what will pop out.
1585  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: can you rate trust wallet? on: November 11, 2020, 08:37:37 AM
is it safe for me to store my coins in trust wallet or i should let it in savings account in binance?

Isn't binance part of the ownership of trust wallet! i think they have a relationship, anyways, i don't use the wallet but so far from those who are using it i don't think they have any complain, although nobody can give you 100% guarantee of the safety of the wallet, you should bare this in mind, even if you also decided to leave them on binance account, they are equally safe because binance itself guarantee the safety of all funds in their platform, according to them, your funds are SAFU.
1586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin will die then crypto market will die confirm! on: November 11, 2020, 08:03:29 AM
Even if btc dies what about blockchain will it die too! most projects are pegged not only in btc but in stable coin as well like usdt, if for any reason btc happens to stop existing i don't think it will be the end of all crypto, as long as blockchain exist i think other crypto will exit regardless if btc is available or not.
1587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BUY 32 ETH on: November 10, 2020, 10:56:50 AM
If CZ wanted to support ETH2.0 he could get more than 32 ETH and be a validator.

So for me, it seems that CZ is just shilling for ETH2.0, maybe he wants the project to be successful so it's going to be win-win situation for him and I think for the whole crypto space as a whole.

We are not yet in the bull run, so just imagine how much CZ and Binance will make if even we see ETH2.0 rolled out successfully and possible to push the price again to it's new all-time-high.

@Stanlo - I suggest you read everything here: https://cointelegraph.com/explained/ethereum-20-staking-explained, but let me quote it for you:

Quote
How does staking work on Ethereum 2.0?

Just as with most other platforms, lock, load and wait.

Staking on Ethereum 2.0 will be fairly straightforward. There will be a minimum threshold of 32 ETH required to participate in staking, and validators will need to be running a validator node. As mentioned previously, this doesn’t need to be specialist machinery and could be done on a consumer-grade computer or laptop. However, validators will be expected to be online consistently or face minor penalties.

The rate of return for staking ETH is expected to be around 4%–10%. A program called “slashing” will apply to any validator acting maliciously toward the network by taking a portion of the validator’s stake.

i think the answer which @stanlo is probably looking for is  - must everyone who have 32 eth and want to stake be a validator or they can stake normally without being a validator!, because the quote above does not really specify or differentiate normal stakers and validators, so i guess everyone who wants to stake will have to be a validator.

Between eth is already a very successful project and doesn't require any shilling from CZ or any other crypto pioneer, people can genuinely say their mind without doing any shilling, you have to know this.
1588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the new US administration be friendly to bitcoin? on: November 09, 2020, 01:53:44 PM
it is too early to tell what will the president-elect do interms of crypto but i have the feeling that his administration will be lot less strict and open to suggestions on the best approach to take regarding crypto, there will be positive change in this administration because Bidden wouldn't want to take the part of his predecessor, much anticipation in this administration right some of the wrongs.
1589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tax authority wants all crypto traders data on exchanges on: November 09, 2020, 08:53:29 AM
No longer news, they can easily get their hands on those data from all the centralize exchanges out there, where they will experience a road block is with dex since no kyc is required to trade, goodluck to them, lol, this is the reason why many crypto users are avoiding all this centralize exchange because of unforeseen situations like this, one way or the other tax authority will find a way to get you, it seem not going to be easy to avoid them.
1590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dangers awaits ( unofficial listings ) on: November 09, 2020, 08:46:58 AM
Most unofficial listing are usually done by this small exchange looking for new members and hoping to increase their volume through unofficially listing a popular project, and yes through this means it is very easy for scammers to take advantage so it will be wise to only interact and transact with the official listing from the project team.
1591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a scam airdrop? on: November 08, 2020, 02:30:32 PM
Isn't it clear to you already, they gave you 200 vela and expect you to buy 300 vela in other to be able to withdraw because they have intentionally increase the withdrawal limit more than what they have Airdrop, if they are doing this to alll members who receive the airdrop and they oblige to pay $15 to claim $10 airdrop means they are definitely scamming users or about to scam, there is a red flag here.
1592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New defi project fake volume in uniswap? on: November 08, 2020, 02:20:08 PM
~

They are only good at start when they are selling the tokens to traders it's slowly disappear because the owner of that tokens slowly selling it to new investors that will come and buy it. If there is no more people interested to buy it any more they will sold it all in one time selling as long as there are orders of that exchange . Then , leave and make another new project that will earn him another money to grab .

Poor innocent investors are the victims of this malicious plan, most of them are just setting a trap for investors who will suffer the loss, they will hype the project and make it seem as if the volume is high, but most are fake, they are only buying time for new victims to get in then they will dump and move on,
Nowadays, am very skeptic about investing in new project because of this very reason, better to observe that project before anything else.
1593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you are new to crypto this is for you on: November 08, 2020, 01:42:51 PM
Someone have to do this from time to time, I believe that many newbies are still victims to scam projects till this days, we gotta keep warning them, not all can be safe but as for those who want to learn, here you go

1. Learn to control your greed
2. Money making should come last, learning is the first thing to do
3. Do research on exchanges as there are many bad eggs among the good exchanges
4. Follow the crypto investment rule, don't invest more than you can afford to lose
5. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, diversity is the way of winners in crypto space

All the best.

You made  valid points,
Learning and understanding the market behavior is very important, in fact, I would say should be the top priority of every crypto new Comer, some people who enter crypto have a total different picture on their mind, they only see when the price is up and the profit they will make but they never thought of when the price is down how they will handle the situation, hence number 1 point is very important.

Another important point is don't invest more than you can afford to lose, don't get carried away and try to invest too much thinking you will make the money back in few days, reason why it is better to fully understand the market movement and your chances of making profit.
1594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥 [BOUNTY] Stobox: Securities Tokenization ✦ Asset Exchange | $112,500 💰 on: November 07, 2020, 05:35:33 AM
You have not attending my query, I'll much appreciate your help in this matter. If I may quote my own question:

I'll add one more point, can we cashed out the entire voucher value, and will the value be pegged on 1:1 ratio with USD? Or will it only be available as a trading fee payment? atated on your rule is below.

Quote
4. A maximum of 4 $STBU vouchers can be redeemed to one account.

Let's say we're waiting until the end of the campaign (8 weeks, $30 token and $100 voucher each week) and a hero/legendary got $240 token and $800 voucher. Can we cashed them out to, let's say  $1,040 worth of USDT or ETH, or will it be only the $240 token that's withdrawable?

Hi, sorry for the delay indeed. Well, rules are updated and $100 voucher can be earned monthly along with tokens. Yes, $240 STBU will be withdrawable only while voucher can be redeemed as a fuel to your trading on our exchange.

In any case if you don't trade the voucher is automatically useless to the user? Very clever offer. Better not to deceive participants with this voucher offer, it is clear many will not benefit from it since they are required to must trade in your exchange to claim it and I bet there is a catch to the trading as well.
1595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [IEO] bmy.guide | Connecting Travellers All Around The World 🛵 on: November 07, 2020, 05:28:23 AM
Yes, as you said, because the current world situation is very severe due to the corona19 virus, that's why many people who do not carry out activities to travel at this time, from the impact of this kind are greatly affected by the bmy.guide project, I'm not really sure whether bmy.guide will continue to survive, a severe situation like this, surely the activity in the bmy.guide project will be even more chaotic
That will depend entirely on the project team and as to how they would handle things when this Covid-19 pandemic is all over.
'Cause I'm pretty sure that even when the virus problem is gone, traveling and the tourism industry itself won't be the same; people will now be more cautious as to which place they visit and which place to spend the rest of the night.
World Tourism Organization itself predicted that the Covid-19 pandemic would result in a decline of 20% to 30% on international tourist arrivals which would translate into a loss of 300 to 450 US$ billion.

It's not just bmy.guide's problem; everyone is affected, we're talking millions of people especially those who worked in the tourism industry, they are the ones that are hit hard with this pandemic.

Source: [World Tourism Organization]

Covid-19 really forced lots of business to a halt and bmy.guide seem to be among those directly affected, of course as a project that has to do with traveling and tourism it will definitely force a stop, there were travel ban in most countries and operating in this circumstance will be impossible, I think now that the pandemic is not a threat anymore, new rules will be implemented on operations in the traveling industry, good thing the team are still very much ready to push the project forward despite some set back.
1596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] STVKE.NETWORK | Your token factory on: November 07, 2020, 05:02:06 AM
We now have our information officially updated with assets and tags on Etherscan!

https://etherscan.io/address/0x226e390751A2e22449D611bAC83bD267F2A2CAfF

token factory ? does this mean anyone can create their own tokens in stvke network ?
and i read on the fisrt post, if we hold 10K we don't have to pay the fee to create a token here, but if we must hold minimun 1000 token to create a token here, and of course with a fee right ? then how much the fee to create a token here mate ?
Yes you are right. You may create your own token without any background in any programming language.

We have closed out our first governance poll to set the minimum STV holding requirement for token creation.

We had a 47% vote to raise the current minimum holding requirement from 100 tokens to 1,000 tokens. We thank everyone for participating in the poll and will make an official announcement when the minimum requirement change has been made.
-stvke.network dev

In every decision or action regarding our development we always create polls, we always give choices and we let our community choose what is the best for them.

Polls are being made in our Telegram or in Discord

How convenient, have you seen the market with hundreds of useless tokens floating around with no specific purpose! Why will a project be base on token factory just to provide a platform to every dick and harry to create more shit coins to dump into the already over saturated market!
Seriously you could have thought of a better niche to handle, something that is truly wanted and needed, that will benefit the crypto ecosystem,
When this tokens are a created then what? The creators just go dump them in the market and come create some more, like eth is not already doing enough in that department, excellent idea token factory  Roll Eyes
1597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XSL Labs - Your Data Belongs To You on: November 07, 2020, 04:53:24 AM
First of all why the Ann thread is self moderated? I take it you are not ready to entertain some criticism that will be coming your way regarding the xsl Labs project otherwise I don't see the point for self moderation since only questions will most likely be ask here,
And as for the concept, I do like the idea of have a decentralized project protecting the privacy of our date, although still trying to understand how this will work on a general basis or just limited to the xsl Labs ecosystem.
1598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥 [Public Sale][ANN] Lattice |DEX|Interoperability|Scalability|DeFi 🔥🔥 on: November 06, 2020, 11:44:56 AM
Lattice will utilize the Constellation Network to effectuate transactions on the exchange and because of this the speed of transactions will exponentially increase Smiley
Project lattice looks like it will be one of the most successful projects this year, and I also did not expect that their sales could be sold out in just 10 seconds, isn't that really magical and it seems like there is no single project that can sell that fast, I think Very lucky for the participants of the bounty campaign who has participated in this project and completed it well so that we can be sure that the participants will get a fairly large fee from their work so far, hopefully in the future this project can continue to grow because if we look at the road map, white paper This project is promising in the future.

I did expect the ltx ieo to sell out but not as fast as it went Wink, like some 10 sec whirlwind, actually am not surprise because lattice is an updated version of uniswap or dex in general with many features like scalability and interoperability which makes it stands out from the rest, lattice is not your ever day dex, it is a dex with advance features and investors knows where their money should be, if you are looking for a project with real usage then done look too far away, the reason why many exchange waiting inline to list ltx Cool
1599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My suggestion for new projects team who want to promote their projects on: November 06, 2020, 11:30:04 AM
I suggest every new projects team should do this if they want to introduce bounty campaigns for their project, doing this will limit the risk for tokens losing huge value because bounty hunters sell their shares.

1. Find good bounty manager
2. Give up only few decent allocation
3. Go for strong exchanges with no fake volume
4. Accept limited participants in your bounty campaigns
5. Introduce phase distributions

You have hit the nail on the head...
- Finding a good bm is key because we have several of them the forum that are well known with good reputation and also very committed, a good bm can make the campaign experience smooth,
- Exchange listing is subjective in this case because it depends on the capability of the team to pursue a strong and top exchange or go for something less in the main time,
- 100% in support of accepting limited participants, just like my current campaign and the previous one, they are all limited campaign which is very reasonable for both the participants and the growth of the project (price wise)
- I use to frown at this particular option until my participation in the Dia campaign and i realize it was not such a bad option, because in no time the 3 phase is coming to an end, so yeah it is a good way of controlling price.
1600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another 2017 kinda year is already around the corner on: November 06, 2020, 11:14:01 AM
The only thing that am seeing a lil bit similar to that of 2017 is btc but the rest of the alts are just lacking behind, the similarity is very thin, it can not be compared to 2017 in several reasons, when i saw the price surge of btc i thought the bull run is upon us and perhaps the rest of the alts will follow up but i don't think that will be the situation in this case, at least not for now, but am thinking year end will bring even more goodies alongside,
someone said in another thread that btc will likely dip down to 9k by 7th when the election result are finalized, am just curious if this will be the case.
