161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Only1 has raised $5 million to build an OnlyFans clone on Solana on: April 22, 2024, 05:16:26 PM
Maybe we will see a Only1 sig camp around here too hehehehe. Maybe they will get it right this time and we will get paid with content instead of coins hehehehe We have already another similar campaign going on which is ladies.de hehehe good looking cheerful women always bring positivity to wherever they go hehehe

OnlyFans was pressured by the authorities too much and they lost many customers already. Only1 wants to fill that gap. Smart move.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: What scares me from investing in gold. on: April 22, 2024, 10:16:44 AM
If you interested in having gold why not invest on a gold ETF
Physical gold is not worth the risk and with it's high price Now and difficulty in selling at market price
I don't see it been profitable
Gold rise lower than other stocks and buying at $2K doesn't mean you can sell at said amount but most likely lower.
Not to mention physical Gold can be stolen.

When you are investing in gold, only physical matters. Good luck getting your phys from paper gold assets during market turmoils. Yes it is hard to keep phys gold safe and you shouldn’t be buying it if that’s the case. Phys gold obviously has other problems too. It is hard to convert your phys gold back to USD and you get ripped of when you do it. People buy gold because when shit hits the fan, none of these problems will matter because when that happens, the only problem you’ll have will be not having enough of it and you need to have them in your possession. If you can’t lick it, you don’t own it.
163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streaming community are getting worst!!! on: April 22, 2024, 06:16:58 AM
They sell their dignity in order to promote gambling, maybe because the offer is too good for them to refuse, but the concept of them abandoning their dignity and ignoring the fact that they could have a bad influence on their viewers,

Bruh, do you realize you are also wearing a casino signature and avatar? When you say they are abandoning their dignity to get paid by the casinos, it makes me confused.

To many people, gambling is part of life just like eating and drinking. I don’t see any problems with streamers that promote casinos. Are they doing anything illegal? No.

Ethical and moral? These concepts don’t have the same meaning everywhere. In some countries drinking alcohol is completely illegal. In some others you can only drink after you turn 21.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Apr 2024] Fees are HIGH, wait for opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs on: April 22, 2024, 06:08:44 AM
Bitcoins still works flawlessly, as I said attack or whatever you call this the protocol is not affected, transactions happen, confirmation happens, blocks are getting mined, Bitcoin can't be brought down by this thing and it will never be! The moment trust starts to go away so will the transactions, so will high fees, and everything will be back as it was and trust will be back again!

I wouldn’t call that “flawless” since being able to make cheap transactions was one of bitcoin’s core features for years and now it is not here anymore.

Do bitcoin execute the code flawlessly? Yes it does. But eth did execute its code flawlessly too and then vitalik didn’t like it so it was forked.

What I am trying to tell you is that executing the code flawlessly doesn’t mean it is working perfectly or more importantly, properly. They are not the same concepts.
165  Other / Archival / Re: Exchanging crypto to fiat. I need a new system. on: April 21, 2024, 02:44:07 PM
If you can't find any services that takes your btc without doing any KYC, you can try bitrefill.

https://www.bitrefill.com/

Bitrefill is a giftcard provider which takes your crypto and doesn't require you do any KYC. Since we almost always top our mobile phone or buy stuff from amazon and similar retailers, getting giftcards are almost as good as having FIAT.  Their margin is like 10% on the product I am looking at right now. It is not the lowest but it is better than nothing I guess. Maybe use it as a temporary solution till you find a better deal.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: Your aging and retirement plan is your responsibility. on: April 21, 2024, 02:38:15 PM
Most people don't think about planning their future when they are young and then they get very sorry later on. Everybody should plan their own retirement program and manage their own retirement fund. Our parents don't teach anything about it because they didn't need it and schools don't mention it because it is not in their interest. If you realized this when you are young, then you are pretty lucky because you have a long life ahead and that means you have much time to plan your future. A diversified portfolio of crypt & stocks will do wonders in 10 years. When your portfolio grows bigger, you can even add bonds and real estate to strengthen it. Remember, take more risks when you are younger and less risks as you get older.
167  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing scammers to the forum. on: April 21, 2024, 04:54:04 AM
Sometimes people fall for very obvious scams. It happens all the time. Just because you see through these scams doesn’t mean everyone is capable of doing so. There are many people without proper education or experience who read bitcointalk. These people will believe whatever they are told.

“Hey, have you got scammed? Too bad. You are lucky doe, I can save your funds. Give me 0.1btc and I’ll get your funds back to you in 24 hours.”

Boom.

A proposition like this exploits the weaknesses of the victim. He plays to his desperation and then providing fake a hope and a solution. (For a price)

Some of these victims might think it is the same guy who stole his funds. So they believe these scammers, only to get scammed one more time.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Apr 2024] Fees are HIGH, wait for opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs on: April 20, 2024, 04:50:54 PM
Look on the bright side, if btc overcomes this attack, it will become even stronger. If btc gets destroyed like this, then it would mean btc never had any chance to start with. Hopefully the spammers will run out of sats and btc will keep moving on. Otherwise this doesn't look good. An asset with 1.2 trillion USD market cap will leave a crater on the markets if it goes down like that. I don't think the spammers will win. Btc will  survive this mess like it always has done. Still though, even if the fees go back down to the (more) reasonable levels, btc will still stay expensive probably and that will keep driving away new people.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No gambling today due to bitcoin high transaction fee. on: April 20, 2024, 03:59:34 PM
This is only for gamblers who use bitcoin as the payment method, how is going today? Who among us here can still afford to gamble?

Have you thought about using another coin? Litecoin and Doge are available on almost every casino nowadays. Price-wise litecoin has been very stable and its transactions are probably one of the cheapest. Bitcoin used to be cheap and fast but that's not been the case for a while.

https://bitcoinfees.net/

Right now according to bitcoinfees.net, the price for getting in the next block is more than a hundred bucks. That's crazy. Nobody should torture himself like this. $100 big money even for a fairly rich person.
170  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 19, 2024, 02:24:17 PM
It looks like several Raspberry Pi. What is the CPU/RAM?

I do not know the origins of the image but am curious about it and what it is supposed to denote. What sort of concurrent user number could that sort of device really handle as per what seem to be limited physical capabilities regardless of whether it had the best uptime connection?

It is a random pic I found on google :/

You can actually host a basic website on it. I have done a similar project myself before. It is probably powerful enough to handle a hundred visitors at the same time  Tongue The fartwind of a DDOS will crash it.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely ? on: April 19, 2024, 04:42:23 AM
Yep. Btc isn’t good for buying a cup of coffee or making small donations anymore. Litecoin is the king of small purchases now. If you check binance, the withdrawal fee for litecoin is only 0.0001 ltc, that’s $0.008. You could send $1 worth of ltc and only pay below a cent to make that transaction.

I think transacting with btc only makes sense when you are sending big amounts. Like $1000 or more. For everything else, ltc is ready for duty.
172  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 19, 2024, 03:58:34 AM

I hate to be the one to tell you this but since you took it this far, you left me no choice.

It was a joke. Of course I know it is not possible to host a big project on a toy. I thought you would figure if you read twice but you didn’t.

Also, another thing you failed to understand is:

Blackhatcoiner probably has the necessary h4x0r skillz for the job.
I already know that this username was a bad choice. You don't have to remind me.  Tongue

As @BlackHatCoiner commented, I will believe you are living up to your name by saying this.

Here, in this post, he meant his own nick name. Not mine. Read his nick.

What do you see?  Black hat coiner. Blackhat=baad.

You know there are 2 kind of hackers in the world. Blackhat and whitehat. And when I called him a “hacker” that’s when he said it was a bad idea to pick this nickname.

Get it now?

If you didn’t, ain’t my problem anymore. I don’t like it when I’m forced to explain my jokes because then I realize it is not funny anymore, more like it is getting dangerous. :d
173  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 18, 2024, 06:46:58 PM
Umm... What else do we need? Interwebz, raspberry pi, an admin...

3 amp adapter? (I heard 2A ain't cutting it anymore)

Firstly, I have doubts that a raspberry can handle the amount of data that is processed on a site like Bitcointalk.
Second, you need to have a dedicated circuit or dedicated IP.
Third, you needed to have a stable enough internet connection to ensure that the site is always online.

Among other things. See some photos of server locations to get some ideas of what a site like this involves.

So you are saying this server would fail?

I am not sure mate. I think this set up looks pretty capable but I ain't no expert on serverz and shiet. I only know B1 level Javascript and some A2 level node.js.

This is going to work on solar too. A 100w fold-able panel will keep this baby up for a loong time.

enough from me, i'm leaving this topic

As @BlackHatCoiner commented, I will believe you are living up to your name by saying this.

I am not sure if you understand what's really going on here but ok. Maybe read blackhath4x0r's post again?

Keeping a website running is not simply having a simple computer connected to the internet, there is much more involved. Especially a site like BitcoinTalk.

Umm... What else do we need? Interwebz, raspberry pi, an admin...

3 amp adapter? (I heard 2A ain't cutting it anymore)
175  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 18, 2024, 12:49:40 PM
Bitcointalk has been banned in Russia, but who cares.
Maybe it's time to think about moving the forum to a friendlier zone until the new limitations come.
There are no server structures with better performance than those found in the USA or Europe. Therefore, everything ends up being more or less the same, if we want to operate with the same level of quality.

I think we can host this forum on a raspberry pi 4. Slap a 10tb hdd on it and we are almost ready to rip. If we can manage to hack Elon’s starlink it would be even easier. Blackhatcoiner probably has the necessary h4x0r skillz for the job.

The admin will guard the rpi4 (server) from the US agents while we do surfing on the crazy Atlantic wavezz

Maybe it's time to think about moving the forum to a friendlier zone until the new limitations come.

To be honest, I expected this to happen when discussions about the mixer ban started.
Not really into forum politics but I do know there's a lot of BTC in forum reserves and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to use it for the betterment of the forum in general.

I still hope some of the senior members will step up soon, theymos included. There are a lot of smart heads here and surely there's a better option available.

The forum reserves should be good enough to buy an island.

Maybe it is time to start our own republic somewhere in the ocean.

That way we can tell the US to gf himself.
177  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GUIDE] Best Crypto Investment Opportunities for Passive Income -2024 on: April 18, 2024, 10:10:36 AM
Investment, and profit, will always have its clients. In addition to all the warnings, there will always be those who want to take risks because of the potential profit.
Unfortunately, some people cannot bear mistakes, so we have cases like this [2024-04-15] Another cryptocurrency suicide
It is certainly interesting that such things happen to highly educated, intelligent people, so it is not just a matter of lack of knowledge or acceptance of information.

It is the lack of experience in the markets. That person is a doctor, not a banker/fund manager. (Sometimes that won’t suffice too) He has zero information on risk management and money management. He might be a very good doctor but doesn’t mean he will be a very good investor. They are totally different professions which demand totally different skill sets.

Many crypto people learned to trade assets on the markets after they met crypto. Before crypto, they didn’t know anything about finance/stocks etc. So the idea of trading assets on the financial markets is too new to them.

They lack knowledge and education. They know nothing about risk management. Their minds are weak.

I too was one of those people and I too lost big potential gains in the past. I didn’t lose anything from my own pockets luckily but after reading many books about investing/finance/risk management I see now that I could very well have been that guy.

Once I read a forum user on WO and he said that he made his fortune before crypto, in the stock markets. That’s exactly where people should start learning about making investments before they do anything with crypto.

They don’t teach how to be a good trader in a medicine school too. People who became crypto investors learned it from the internet and there are far too much wrong info on the internet. Everyone has an idea but only a few has real information.

Jesse Livermore. The guy who shorted the great depression rally a century ago. Became rich af. A couple years later, do you know what he did?
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now that Bitcoin is no longer digital cash? on: April 18, 2024, 04:47:44 AM
With these high fees, btc definitely fails at operating as a currency. For a fee years btc acts more like digital gold rather than a digital currency because of the physical limitations of btc. Are meme coins the answers to this problem though? I am not sure. The only promising coins with a fairly well user adoption is dogecoin. The resr are pure trash. Other than that there is xmr which has nearly zero user adoption because the governments don’t like it and there is litecoin which dominates the currency use case on bitpay. To me it is very clear which coin is acting as digital cash lately.
179  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: April 17, 2024, 06:29:52 PM
If the global economy continues to deteriorate, do you think central banks will collapse? If that happens, it will be the end of Fiat for good. In such a scenario, do you think Bitcoin will become the currency of the world?

What's your opinion? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

Don't think so. On the contrary, they'll become even stronger. Central banks can only fail if there is a revolution like the French Revolution. As long as people keep being sheeple, nothing will change.

1- Wear a mask > There were more brainwashed mask wearers who fought non-mask wearers.
2- Get a jab or can't travel > Jab takers fought no-jabbers like their life depended on it.
3- Don't use mixers only criminals use them > Sir yes sir I don't wanna go to jail whatever you say sir! Orders sir!
4- Eat plant based meat, cow farts are killing the earth > I can eat pflant shit all day sir!

 Cool
180  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is the main cause of financial depression on: April 16, 2024, 06:07:59 PM
Overpopulation is the main reason. (Not enough quality resources, too many demand/people) Inflation is only the symptom of what’s really happening.

Here are the choices we have:

High inflation is bad. Let’s increase the interest rates.

a) the economy stops. Recession begins. People lose their jobs and die from hunger.
b) the rate increase wasn’t enough, the inflation goes higher, people keep losing their purchasing power.

When the govs face this situation, almost 99 times out of 100, they prefer choice “b”. They only pick “a” when having a recession benefits their elite team better. (They already went short on the markets)
