1161  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: yahoo62278 scammed the forum with his fake donation (part 2) on: February 20, 2023, 10:51:42 AM
I don't know what yahoo is up to or if he is lying or not but always assume that your money is gone when you donate money to somebody. It is meaningless to cry now.

Let's say you were scammed by yahoo, what you can do about it? Nothing other than giving him a red trust rating/creating a flag. He already said he is not giving it back.

Now go cry in a corner.

Every day people come up with all kinds of excuses to borrow money without a collateral in this forum. You ignore them don't you? Do you get impressed by their story and send money every time you read a sad story? Why did you do it this time?
1162  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: February 19, 2023, 08:07:23 AM
Hopefully a pipe dream. I am one of those who prefer ICE cars over EV's. I love my car and as long as I can buy another, I will. I will never buy a EV. If they give me one for free, i will just sell it and buy an ICE car. EV's are not suitable for making long trips and the range simply sucks. If the weather is too hot, the range goes down. If the weather is too cold the range goes down. I already carry a cellphone with me and its battery life drives me crazy. I don't need another troublemaker.

I think instead of making cars running on batteries, they should make phones running on oil. I would pre-order an ICE cell-phone.
1163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your reasons for holding bitcoins? on: February 19, 2023, 04:52:05 AM
It gives me flexibility. If you live in a country where certain companies aren't available to you (paypal isn't available here for example) then bitcoin gives you an option to make international trades. I can sell my services for bitcoins and then convert them to my local currency and I can also do the opposite. (buying a service or a product) I can do the same thing with a credit card but they only work with the big companies. What If I just want to buy something from some random dude? This is the situation where bitcoin really shines.
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gamers beware: miners are now painting GPU memory on: February 19, 2023, 04:15:49 AM
Bitmain is even worse, they make pre-sales, and hold + use the Antminer, only to ship them once the market collapses.

Isn't that natural?

When miners make money, everybody wants to mine. Bitmain is manufacturing miners but even they don't have infinite resources to feed this black hole. When everybody wants to mine, the demand is infinite but the resources to make miners is finite. Naturally, most people that want free money won't get it.

If you look at this from Bitmain's perspective, they shouldn't be selling their miners at all. Would you sell your miners if you were bitmain? Nope. You would mine with them and hopefully that's what they do.

Think about a second what you are exactly asking from bitmain now. Basically you are asking them to give you free money. Yes it all boils down to "Bitmain, y u no gimme money?"

For these reasons, I always recommend people to buy crypto instead of mining. Mining isn't worth the trouble you are getting.
1165  Economy / Economics / Re: Anyone here into passive investing (of their time)? on: February 18, 2023, 12:35:59 PM
Passive investment basics:

*Have money first, so you can earn more money.*

You can earn money passively if you rent out your real estate, collect dividends from stocks or collect interest from the long term government bonds. However, you still need to have money to buy those. You can build a stock/bond portfolio or you can start a mortgage while you are working and by the time you get to your 50's, you will be set.

If you haven't planned all those while you were young, then there is another choice:

The other choice is investing in the right crypto and hoping to get rich quick.

------

Aah... youtube. I see most people here think youtube is a way of making money passively. It is not. The moment you stop uploading new content, your channel will die off.
1166  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly or weekly pay? Fixed or percentage earning? what is your prefrence. on: February 18, 2023, 12:18:43 PM
Not everyone can be a boss or have a business of their own like you. When it comes to money, everyone wants to have a lot of money, and if they get a wish, people will want to receive it every second, not wait for hours and months to receive it. But when you're just an employee, you can't decide that.

I don't care when I will get my salary, what I care about is how much I earn. If it's a very high salary, 10 times other people's income, I'm willing to take it quarterly or annually.

Lucky for you who have business, but for us employees, we have a hard time budgeting our money and also finding the best time to be paid so that we can budget it and have it last us until payday. I don't know how you'd pay your employees, but I am hoping that you are taking care of them so that no matter whether you pay them weekly or monthly, they are happy since their salary is enough. Also, imagine paying your employees hourly. How would you do the paper work, lol? Unless you don't do any paperwork and just pay them out of your pocket and you're not tracking your expenses in your business.

Why not then think about receiving payment every minute or second? That will completely minimize inflation "pwnage". What about those who hold or save? If they want to buy, lets say a 2 weeks vacation, what should they do? Earn that amount daily? Cant imagine what job should it be to earn so much.

It is good that you can be your own boss and get paid daily. Do you work alone or have a colleagues or a team? I am not trying to offend you, but the job you do perhaps isnt hard or require special skills or technology. Paid daily = work must be done in 1 day. Right ? And you are most likely paid in cash. Is your work seasonal or influenced highly by demand? What about the situation when you have no work to do today? You earn zero that day? That is why I prefer monthly payment. There are days when you work little, but still receive regular payment.

People say monthly like me, since monthly bills are like the common stuff to worry about when dealing with our finances. I believe other people are talking about yearly when it comes to filing taxes and I have observed that mostly in 1st world countries. Here in my country which is a third world country, carefully observes "monthly" pay if that can sustain monthly needs as well as if there's still plenty of room or an overhead for luxury.

And you're right that you'll get pwned by inflation, the later you get paid. Transportation to work these days are already pain in the ass.

I think most people who work for somebody else is not determined enough to start their own business. All I see here is you making up excuses.

"We don't have the capital maan"
"What about the bills bruh?"
"We are not qualified to get paid dailiee!"

Read about the people that started big businesses in history. Most of them started with nothing till they get to the top.

Think big.

Take some risks!

1167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin on: February 18, 2023, 11:38:13 AM
I know it is hard to hold. I experienced it myself. I still experience it. Still though, I think it makes more sense than mining crypto.

The way I see it, people mine crypto because they are looking for something to keep themself busy. To me that’s the whole point. You mine crypto so you don’t think about your stash and the less you think about your investments, the less stupid trades you will make.

I recently read that the most successful investors are the dead ones. That must tell you something.
1168  Economy / Economics / Re: How we survive food shortages on: February 18, 2023, 11:34:15 AM
Stock up dry food/canned food first if you don’t have enormous cash in your disposal. Canned foods stay good for years, they don’t go bad easily unless you store them in a very wrong way.

Your second option is buying farm land, small gardens and grow your own food. This takes time and effort and it is like having another job. If you somehow got a big land, you can hire somebody else to do the job for you.

Third option: Buying food/farm stocks. Anything related to manufacturing food will go up in a crisis situation. Water too. Clean water is vital.

I can’t think of any other preparations.
1169  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How I made my first $2000 through stock marketing on: February 18, 2023, 11:25:56 AM
So you are suddenly became a believer just because you made 2 grand from forex trading? You could have made the same amount from trading bananas. Would that make you a banana believer? I think sooner or later you will mess up your trading and again should will say “bitcoin is a scam.” Since making money made you a believer, losing money will make you a hater again.

What about quitting that shit game and become an investor instead?
1170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin on: February 18, 2023, 11:16:24 AM
How fast is mining using hardware or cloud mining
Because according to my research most crypto miners use cloud mining

I also read an article that said all Bitcoin come from hardware mining which means that even cloud mining is hosted by hardware miners
What do you think?

I think you shouldn’t think about mining in the first place. Mining is a troublesome business. You need to invest in hardware, find cheap electricity source, do the maintenance etc it is too much work and the potential profits is less than holding crypto alone which don’t have any of these troubles.

“What about cloud mining?”

It is a scam. Don’t even think about it.

If you want to make money from crypto, just buy and hold.
1171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: February 18, 2023, 07:43:15 AM
I am starting to think that Biden might not even run. The guy is not doing a very good job by anyone’s standards (I’m an independent for the record so no bias here) and I think his party is going to make sure he understands that he shouldn’t be running again. I don’t think Trump will win the nomination either, I think that will go towards Ron D’s way.

What a joke either way all the way around.
I am not even American, and I would support democratic party candidates if I were, because of.. obvious reasons. However, even I do not think that Biden is doing a good job, his only job was being a better "person" than trump, and that was a very low standard to put him into, 99.99% of the people in the world are better people than trump, and Biden barely made the cut, imagine how terrible he is as well.

However, if he decides to run, even with him being terrible at his job, he will still get the nomination because of the reasons I talked about, you do not nominate someone else when the president is running for reelection and hence we will see him run if he wants to.

Of course you would support the democrats especially if you are not a US citizen. That's because they are the ones that allow illegal immigrants in. The democrat party is a dream become true for those people in Mexico dreaming of a easy American passport. Last year I read it in the news that people actually fly from Turkiye to Mexico just to be able to go through the Mexican/American border illegally.

https://www.borderreport.com/immigration/el-paso-becoming-favored-u-s-entryway-for-turkish-nationals/
Quote
Those are unprecedented numbers that experts say are the result of cooperation between transnational criminal organizations in Mexico and Turkey. The Border Patrol and CBP’s Office of Field Operations reported only 49 encounters with Turks in El Paso during the fiscal year 2020 and 1,212 in 2021. The numbers began to shoot up into the thousands in March.

...

Shelling up to $15,000 per trip, the Turks typically fly to Mexico City. The transnational criminal organizations then decide where the newly arrived will cross.

And why do I care? I care because this shit American politics affect Turkiye too. Turkiye is destroying itself the same way USA destroy their own country.

1172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin be trusted? on: February 18, 2023, 07:31:30 AM
A friend of mine came to me and we were having a conversation and I was trying to introduce he to the forum, but he turns out that I was asked if I really trust and believe in bitcoin it will never crash like other cypto industry.

I want know if it will not crash and I need help to convince him about it that it will not crash because am a beginner and I haven't know much about bitcoin so I guess been here I will fine help to assist my friend to join the forum.

If you don't know anything about bitcoin, It seems to me you should read a lot about it and make your own mind. Everybody has a different view on the subject. Some people don't like crypto and never invest in it and some other worship it like they found god. Some other people think it as just another investment vehicle and some other people use it as a currency. The answer varies from person to person.

I think bitcoin itself is a safe network as long as you own the keys of your funds but its value against the dollar fluctuates and that might create some problems if you are not a long term player/investor.
1173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: February 17, 2023, 01:17:09 PM
That could be true as most of the Presidents nowadays are already at their golden age, I’m not just talking for US but definitely all over the world. That is why in the case of Biden, most of the democratic voters are expecting that he should not seek again for another long term. But Biden I think is determined to run again, regardless of his old age (the oldest president in the history I guess) but I just hope his physical and mental health will not be triggered by the time the Presidential campaign starts.

If Biden is running against Trump, then age won't be one of the campaign topics. Because there is hardly any difference in age between these two. But that will be an issue in case Biden is running against DeSantis, or Kamala is running against Trump. I have already posted my opinion. I am against discriminating people by age. If someone is competent enough to become the POTUS, then he should have the opportunity to do so. Age, color, race, religion.etc should not matter in this case. As long as Biden is medically fit, I don't have an issue.

Are you kidding? Trump is easily 20 years younger than Biden. One of them can't even construct a sentence without getting any help from the others and the other one can do QA's for hours.

Biden is practically a dead man walking (he can't even walk properly when you think about it now) while Trump can still do MMA fighting.
1174  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs Binance on: February 17, 2023, 01:12:55 PM
SEC is a hypocrite. Why don't they start with the USDT (or USDC) first and then sue BUSD? The answer is, they don't want competition. It is OK when Binance issuing USDT like a mad man and when somebody else does it oh no suddenly it is the end of the world. Shutting BUSD would potentially harm binance and if binance gets harmed every other US crypto exchange will benefit from it.
1175  Economy / Economics / Re: Cheap food: can you beat this price in your country? on: February 17, 2023, 04:16:25 AM
Just found a restaurant where the individual meal costs only 0,57$! Meal composed by rice, toasted cassava flour and black bean stew with few pieces of pork meats. Feeds one person decently and the taste is good. You can eat the whole month for less than 35$, considering lunch and dinner daily! That is perfect for cutting expenses with food!

Do you know any restaurants which serve cheaper meals than that where you live? It must be a meal, not snacks.

There are family restaurants in where I live which make home made meals and each meal costs around $1.06-$1.1 The quality is OK but not that great and I wouldn't eat there as long as I have a very very tight budget. These prices may look funny to the forum members but there are many people who work for the minimum wage (which is $450) and they still struggle to pay those prices.

I wouldn't reduce my food quality just to cut my expenses. Eating quality food makes me happy.
1176  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC's wildest move on Staking business | Go Non Custodial Staking for security on: February 15, 2023, 11:55:14 PM
Just buy bitcoin and hold if you want to get rich. Proof of stake is an illusion of making money. In reality you are not making anything. You are creating more of the same worthless tokens and the more you create, the more worthless it becomes. Bitcoin don’t need these tricks. It has a limited supply and that makes it a better choice than anything with an infinite supply.
1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth staking stablecoins? on: February 15, 2023, 11:32:26 PM
It is worth it as long as you can withdraw your money from the exchange. I still wouldn’t do that because I don’t trust these exchanges and the annual interest rates for USDT is pretty ridiculous compared to the bank interest rates. And now the SEC is investigating them which makes them riskier than ever. Crypto is and should never be about staking coins on an exchange. It is about self custody. If we are going to deposit money to an exchange and collect interest, what's the point of having crypto? It just means that we didn’t like banks because they didn’t give us good interest rates. :/ not because they are centralized.
1178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else getting deflated with the bitcoin naysayers? on: February 15, 2023, 03:27:27 AM
Bitcoin don’t need us. We need bitcoin.

That’s all you gotta know and tell the bitcoin skeptics. They don’t have to hear the rest of the story and they probably won’t care anyway. When the time is right, they will have a situation where they will have to use bitcoin and then they will realize how great btc actually is. Till then, don’t waste your breathe on them.

People can produce countless of arguments to defend their current financial positions. Why try to convince them? Let them do what they want. Bitcoin don’t need us.
1179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu turns into privacy coin like Monero or ZCash? on: February 14, 2023, 10:29:21 AM
It has its advantages for the users but will the exchanges happy about these changes? We know that exchanges don't like privacy coins because all exchanges have a big partner which is called he government and the government wants to know who you are. If shiba becomes a privacy coin then the government will tell their partners to stop doing business with shiba and shiba will get affected in a very bad way.
1180  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Logo imperfection on: February 14, 2023, 04:06:49 AM
It is no imperfection. It is a backdoor to the blockchain put there by the devs. If you can manage to get the fitting key, you can access the source code of the Zio-I mean bitcoin but I don't recommend this because you may screw the balance of the universe. Think about all the children that will starve because their parents can't reach their coins.

Luckily for you, neither you nor any of us have to worry about that because these keys are in the safe hands, the bitcoin devs.
