161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: December 29, 2015, 03:29:13 AM
I've sold out of R1's, and as promised, I am releasing my customized firmware to the community. Please note that although I refer to this package as custom firmware, it is really just a patch file. If you reset your R1 to factory defaults, you will lose the customizations. In which case, you would just need to re-apply the patch.

Changelog for release 0.95:
- Opened up port 4029 for API access to cgminer-u3 instance
- Max frequency for U3 increased to 250M
- Max fequency for R1 increased to 250M (I have not personally tested freq past 125. Use at your own risk!)

Firmware Enhancements
- U3 zombie handling(Scripted auto-cgminer restarts and R1 reboot if necessary)
- Supports modifying R1 pools from UI, without losing the ability to use Bitmain's solo pool for R1.
- Detailed R1 stats page, including pool statistics
- Supports modifying R1 freq and voltage from UI
- U3 freq selection increased to 250M
- Cgminer-U3 API open for monitoring with 3rd party tools

WARNING: These customizations provide the ability to push your R1 beyond its intended limits. Because of this, it will likely void your warranty with Bitmain. Additionally, I provide this patch with no official support, and take no responsibility for any damage done to your R1 device or its surroundings. Use at your own risk! By downloading and applying this patch, the user is accepting these conditions.

Download Below

163  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Homemade ASIC Miner? on: December 26, 2015, 04:31:44 PM
An integrated circuit is going to be tough to build in your home, but assuming you have the knowledge and plenty of floorspace, you could build an "ASBC" (Application Specific Breadboard Circuit)
164  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - R1 ($49.99) on: December 24, 2015, 08:01:45 PM
Crazyguy, are you aware of this issue?  Does your firmware address it, or is it something that can even be addressed via firmware?  Thanks.

the cgminer bundled with the R1 has a memory leak..

Wed Dec 23 16:45:26 2015 kern.err kernel: [239052.260000] Out of memory: Kill process 1158 (cgminer) score 693 or sacrifice child
Wed Dec 23 16:45:26 2015 kern.err kernel: [239052.260000] Killed process 1158 (cgminer) total-vm:72348kB, anon-rss:44264kB, file-rss:0kB

it will eventually cause a crash with the r1.

unfortunately without the source code for the antrouter driver it cant be updated.

I haven't noticed the leak myself, but I wouldn't be surprised. If there is a leak, then it appears to be handling itself... i.e. R1 crashes and reboots, or cgminer crashes and frees the memory, then monitor script restarts cgminer. Depending on the size of the leak, a simple script to restart the R1 cgminer instance every few hours should mitigate the issue.

ANTMiner U3s are now sold out.
166  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - R1 ($49.99) ANTMINER U3 ($44.99) on: December 22, 2015, 12:07:43 AM
Crazyguy,
received one of my AntR1's today and the plug has a short in it. Every time I plug it no power from unit unless I wiggle the router. Doesn't stay powered very long as any vibration will jiggle the plug back to not being fully plugged into outlet. Even tried extension cords and multiply outlets with same results.
what to do

I've never had to use the adapter, but if you ordered a modified unit from me, it means I had it plugged in and working for at least 10 minutes while I updated and tested the firmware. Please PM me with your order number and we'll figure out what's going on.
167  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] ASICMINER Prisma 1.0 Boards ($15/board) - 300-360gh/s on: December 20, 2015, 02:35:50 PM
The last 35 passing boards have been sold. A good majority of the bad boards were from a poorly packaged return shipment, with the only problem I could see being bent fan headers. I may have an opportunity to test some of those boards this week and possibly move them to the "passing" column.
168  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED][SIDEHACK STICK]Official sales thread for everywhere not already covered on: December 19, 2015, 09:20:02 PM
I see what you're saying. For the same total price as 10 from me, he could get 6 or 7 from CrazyGuy.

Yeah, $50 is really high. I haven't seen that price, but then I haven't really been looking. I know CrazyGuy's Amazon sale price was pretty high, but we've already been over that - gotta add a billion percent for Amazon's cut, stuff like that. Middlemen always cost more. One of my favorite "I hate middleman markup" stories, my uncle runs an aluminum die casting factory. They had to buy back some parts once which had failed an inspection somewhere, but they had to buy them back at shelf price. The bid for manufacture was $1.35 per unit but shelf price, by the time they changed hands to the packager and wholesaler and distributor and retailer, was about $40 a pop. Effin' ridiculous.

I'm sold out at the moment, but I much prefer sales from ASICPuppy.net @$35 over Amazon @$45.

Here's what I deal with on Amazon and eBay:
1) 10% + seller Fees
2) Scammers, chargebacks and people who treat small businesses like they are Walmart "I've used your merchandise for a month and I haven't found a block, I'm sending it back for a full refund per Amazon's policy"
3) Customer support. Someone who buys from Amazon/Ebay is much less likely to be a forum visitor and very likely to need help setting up their miners. 5-10 minutes of correspondence with a single customer can add up when you are selling large quantities.

I think one of the reasons you see so many fly by night mining and hardware operations is because individuals underestimate the amount of time and money they will spend sustaining their business. I think it's very wise of sidehack to delegate smaller sales to resellers and concentrate on what he's good at, which is cranking out top notch miners!

What are the differences between the 1.0 and 2.0 controllers?

1.0 controller is only compatible with Prisma 1.0, and 2.0 controller is only compatible with Prisma 2.0. I should have clarified this. I put the 2.0 controllers up there in case someone needs one.

I don't have them listed on the site, but I'll ship anywhere, as long as you are willing to pay the shipping costs.
174  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] ASICMINER Prisma 1.0 Boards ($15/board) - 300-360gh/s on: December 16, 2015, 04:46:15 PM
I have a good amount of returned ASICMINER Prisma 1.0 boards that I'm willing to sell for $15 a piece. Each board should be capable of operating at 300-360gh/s using .8-.9 watts per gh.

No heatsinks included. Minimum purchase of 2 boards required. Shipping costs covered by buyer. 8 should fit in a Region B box.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
These boards are all returns from the ASICMINER Prisma return program last year. ASICMINER offered a full refund or replacement to all buyers as there were multiple reports of Prismas catching on FIRE. There are no temperature sensors on the Prisma boards and things tend to go bad if a chip went out and you are using a PSU with no overvoltage protection. Because of this, I take no responsibility for any damage caused by malfunctioning boards. Do not run them near flammable objects! They are also being sold without warranty or support. The boards I will ship out have been marked as running without issue by the original buyers, but I have no way to test them.

With that said, I managed to personally run 8 Prisma 1.0 units for 4 months without issue. Sidehack ran a good amount of them as well. My personal units were run in an area with adequate cooling, and with a good amount of airflow on the outside of the boards. I also did not run them near anything flammable, just in case...

Controllers
I've got a good amount of Prisma 1.0 controllers and usb to uart adapters available if needed. $15 and $10 respectively.

Can you give me a good price for 40-60 of them including shipping to France ?
I may have a small project in which they could have some use.
I could use a second batch of 60 later if it works as expected.

Do you care if they are marked as working or not? There are a few that were marked as not working, which could be due to a single bad component. I can sell those for $10 a piece. Also, if you buy 40-60, I'll ship for free
175  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] KNC Neptune Cube - Half Speed - $50 2x available on: December 16, 2015, 02:33:22 AM
I have 2 Neptune cubes that have 2 dead dies that I'm willing to sell for $50 each. Buyer pays shipping.

Shipping estimate to 27606?

Priority should be around $20 for one and $30 for 2 anywhere in the US. Take off $8 for slow boat.

178  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 11, 2015, 11:28:42 PM
Did anyone try to mod the U3 for quieter operation?
Are you serious?  It's one 80mm fan, my desktop has 10 of them.  White noise is relaxing, you should learn to enjoy it!

I've had an SP20 running in an an adjacent room for the past year and never noticed anything from my U3. Got rid of the SP20 and now the U3 is making its presence known, but it's barely noticeable.

By the way, my customized R1 has been running my U3 without human intervention for around 6 weeks now.
179  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - COMPAC ($34.99) - R1 ($49.99) ANTMINER U3 ($44.99) on: December 02, 2015, 08:37:22 PM
I haven't tried accessing the api outside of the R1. It's possible openwrt may have a light version of ip tables blocking that port. If so, you'll need to allow inbound/outbound traffic on that port.

How would I go about opening the port on the R1?  I understand how to do it on my normal router, but I do not see similar functions on the R1.

Also, any idea why the U3 didn't come back when I restarted the R1?  Thanks.

You'll have to secure shell in and confirm it is running ip tables first. It may be some other form of firewall. There may also be an easier way to open up ports through the Lua interface, so you may want to try digging around I'm the network section first.

If you go the ip tables route, here's a good starting doc
help.ubuntu.com/community/IptablesHowTo

As for why your U3 is not being recognized after reboot, it could be a number of things. Power supply died, tripped circuit, shorted cable... I would shell in and run lsusb to see if your R1 even sees the device as connected. Maybe reboot again.
180  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - COMPAC ($34.99) - R1 ($49.99) ANTMINER U3 ($44.99) on: December 02, 2015, 07:52:21 PM
Hmm, another user suggested port 4029 to me as well, and I tried it and it didn't work.  I'll dig a little deeper and try to figure it out, thanks.

its the same as cgminer api but its set to use 4029 instead of 4028.

Nope, that didn't do it, still shows it as "off line".  I tried 4027 and 4030, too.  No other ip addresses show on my router so it must be behind the R1 somewhere.

Edit

I looked into the running processes and it does appear that port 4029 is the correct port, but CryptoGlance does not want to talk to the U3 on that port.  Any other ideas?

On another note, I restarted the R1 and now the U3 isn't hashing at all.  I restarted it several times last night and the U3 always came back hashing, but it's dead now after a restart of the R1 (I'm not at home, I am accessing my home computer over VPN).

I haven't tried accessing the api outside of the R1. It's possible openwrt may have a light version of ip tables blocking that port. If so, you'll need to allow inbound/outbound traffic on that port.
