2 left in batch 1! I'll be placing the first order in the next few hours.
522  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter Prisma (>=1.4 T/device, 0.75-0.78 W/G, <1 BTC/T, October Shipping) on: September 25, 2014, 07:19:42 PM
Really no need to fix those controllers if we can use a Pi!!

So it's either buggy ethernet controller with uncertain fix or Raspberry PI with uncertain capability (possibly unreliable and/or underpowered) in an uncertain setup.

If there's a problem with the Pi it's going to be the driver.  There's no trouble running cgminer on a Pi and the BE200 ethernet controller is much weaker than a Pi.  As in, 1/4000th of the RAM space.

I believe the issue with the RPIs are USB and ethernet bus related. The BTCGarden units ran great on an RPI but they were using GPIO.

I'm thinking the Prisma limit on RPI will probably be lower than the BE controller but we'll know soon enough. The good thing about the USB adapter is that it should be trivial to get these running on any controller you choose.

I've been told by phasebird that the adapter should be compatible with tubes as well, waiting on confirmation.

Are you shipping to Europe also?

I will ship anywhere as long as you are willing to pay the shipping costs. I have a lot of PMs asking for estimated shipping to various countries. I do not have final package dimensions, so this is not something I can provide. What I can tell you is that the weight will be something above 8kg. I suggest using the USPS calculator for estimated costs

I will provide a DHCP enabled RPI image for my customers purchasing rpi controllers. For  an extra $20 I'll add Wi-Fi capability.

I'm spoiled with the ease of the S1's and S3's. I will need one myself.

Stupid question with RPi we can add any pool correct? Was or is the BE controller limited to a few pools?

With the RPI, you can use any pool. Due to the processing limitations of an RPI, I'm not certain it would be able to handle more than a couple Prismas. The block erupter controller can handle 8 units but it is limited to ghash.io and slush at the moment.

I've received a photo of the adapter that has been created for connecting to a RPi. The interface is USB, so that's good news.

I will ship overseas, but I can not estimate a price as I don't have package dimensions. The weight will be somewhere around 8kg.

So we know for sure that they only require a Pi to run...not that POS controller?  If so I might have to pick up a few.

The Pi is supported, what I don't know is the interface. If it's GPIO to the Pi, like the BTCGarden AMV1, then it will only support the RPi and the BEController. If it's usb, then there's a good chance you'll be able to run it on a Beaglebone, Windows PC, or whatever you like. I'm trying to get clarification on this.

PM Sent - I'm good for 4 of these guys should be a fun project assembled or not  Cool

Assemble 4 of these, and tell me you think the same thing.  Man, after I built 4 tubes, I quickly placed an order on Amazon for an electric screw driver hahahah!!

Yes, the tube had an ungodly amount of screws. I put one together myself, and while it was fun, I wouldn't enjoy assembling more than a few. AM started selling them fully assembled after batch 1.
530  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] ASICMiner Prisma 1.4th/s - 1.54 BTC - Group Buy on: September 25, 2014, 02:51:20 AM
They should be fully assembled.
531  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] ASICMiner Prisma 1.4th/s - 1.54 BTC - Group Buy on: September 24, 2014, 10:43:54 PM
According to friedcat, the only customizations made to CGMiner were to the usb interface. Therefore, the number of pools you can specify will be the max allowed by Cgminer. 4 should be no problem.

Will the tube controller work with this model? If not what does a controller cost?

It appears to be the same controller, but I will confirm. If ordering less than 4, include .069 BTC for each AM controller you would like to purchase.

Note that AM has made the device compatible with the RPi, and possibly other devices, so the Block erupter controller is not required. I have RPIs for sale on ASICPuppy.net for those looking to get their controller set up ahead of delivery.

What exactly do you call a unit? Assembled device consisting of four boards or a single board?
AM calls each board a unit.

Sorry for the confusion, I am referring to a fully assembled 4 board Prisma Miner. I will not be selling single boards this round.

What's your zip code? Just to get a rough idea of shipping costs.

Is USPS the only option or can you accept FedEx/UPS labels too?

75013

USPS is the easiest for me, so that's the only method I can guarantee shipping within 24 hrs. If you really need to use UPS or Fedex, PM me and we can work something out.

any prof that the bug of asicminet tube already reverse to this prisma thing??

They are still working on the controller issues...he recommends using an rpi to use others pools.

this make it a no go for me as of today.  I like the long profile I like the lower power.
...
Man this would be so easy to order if the controller allowed most pools and 2 pools at a time with auto switch.
The little r-box with the same chips runs 2 pools with auto switching. and the s-3 runs 3 pools with auto switching

I will watch to see what this does. and what it costs for 1 of them in a  group buy like canary did for the shorter tube.

AM's controller is not required for the Prisma. You should be able to use an RPI. If the it's usb interface, you will be able to use any controller you like.

I've opened up a group buy for buyers in the US:

BE controller information

1) The prisma and Tube BE controller are the same, but tube controllers are setup by default at a frequency of 270. If you receive a tube controller, drop the frequency down to 240 before connecting a prisma.
2) BE controller's default address is 192.168.0.254. The easiest way to access it the first time is by connecting to your PC or laptop via crossover cable or put it on a network with the same subnet.
3) BE controllers require a power source of their own. They can reliably handle anywhere from 5v-12v. I have tested with both a 5v 2a and 12v 1a power adapter. The power adapter will need to have a 2.5mm barrel connector.
4)  The BE controller supports ghash.io and slush by default. BTC GUILD and ckpool are also supported, but they use different addresses for tubes and prismas. See dogie's tube guide for more info on supported pools.

RPi/Cubie Controller Information

1) RPi/Cubie controllers purchased from me come preloaded with a custom build of Minera(getminera.com)
2) The system will have DHCP enabled, with a hostname of "priminerapi"
3) To access the user interface, browse to: http://priminerapi/minera
4) Login with username/password minera/minera
5) Setup your pool configuration under the settings page.
6) Start miner from left toolbar. Dashboard should show hashrate statistics.

Configuring your Prisma for use with BE or RPI controller:

1) Each physical board has two addresses in a 5 bit address space. Only 4 of those bits are configurable. Boards 01-16 are paired with logical boards 17-32, starting with the first switch configuration(0000). This results in the first physical board having an address of 01 and 17
2) Boards must be chained in incremental order. (Example: 01:17,02:18,03:19,04:20,05:21...)
3) The least significant bit is reversed from the tube, with the tube's last switch,"5", being the least significant bit and the Prisma's first switch ,"1", being the least significant bit. Off and on still refer to 0 and 1 respectively.

Warning: Leave Switch 5 alone! If you set it on for any board, the controller will not see any boards in your chain.

Example switch configuration. ( "X" is OFF, "O" is on)

Board 1: (01:17)
Switch :  1  2  3  4  5

Brief
ASICMiner Prisma is based on a proprietary X48 design for BE200. It greatly reduces power
consumption of the device per GH/s compared to the X24 design.

It takes the same cooling structure and similar form factor as the ASICMiner Tube,
while being even more efficient and compact. Also, we added cgminer support on Raspberry PI.

Spec
Hashrate: 350-370GH/s per hashing unit in normal mode, 1400-1480GH/s per full device.

Power consumption: ~0.67 W/G board-wise. On-wall power consumption relies on PSU
efficiency. (typically 1050-1100 W per full device, 0.75-0.78 W/G)

Size: 35cmx12cmx12cm per full device.

Weight: 7.5kg per full device.

Powering: One 6pin PCI-E plugs per hashing unit.

The hashing units are driven by ethernet controllers. It can also be driven by cgminer on Raspberry PI.
Each ethernet controller or Raspberry PI can run up to 32 units.
...

AM expects to begin shipping Prisma units on October 8th - 27th. Orders will be shipped within 24 hrs of receipt in the USA.
