IF (and that's a big IF) all this posting about BCN had not a (not-so-well) hidden agenda...

My agenda isn't hidden. I just want to learn more about the history here. I had been vaguely aware of the controversy regrading BCN's beginnings but didnt take an interest until recently when I saw their new wallets and roadmap. tbh my initial reaction on seeing this was "WTF?!, wasnt this supposed to be… dead?". Apparently not. So Im looking into it.

It can always take some more money from gullible people. All they have to do is periodically create new accounts and post about it in other threads. Have fun with it.

EUR SEPA Deposit (Free)- EEA countries only
EUR Bank Wire Deposit (€5) - other countries

166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: June 01, 2015, 01:38:38 AM
can you tell us how to do it?

What OS? Here is a guide: http://gapcoin.grn.cc/  Just skip the part about VPS... Generally speaking you download the qt, you run it and it downloads the blockchain, you download the latest miner, you start the miner pointing at the daemon...

Its too bad this coin ends up like this when it offers so much more than 99% of the coins out there.

Well it doesnt have the wow such coin much profit advertisement the other shitcoin have...

I had an idea lately. Let us select a random day in a month or so from now and call it "Gapcoin BreakTheRecordDay" (rename it however you like it). The idea will be that on that day we are calling miners from other coins too help us break the world record. Just a day trying... Then we spam(well some positive spamming, not too ugly) a bit the forums and social media and ask for help specific for that day. We could try to contact some crypto related news sites too. We gonna need someone to build a nice pool that can accept that traffic. Maybe we can talk with someone well known about this.  Someone should make a few images about that event. Finally we throw all the bounties that we have already gathered, plus we put a few more. I can add a few thousand gapcoins plus a few monero. The bounty will be given to whoever break the record. If a pool breaks the record i guess it can give according to shares of the spcific block. I believe we can gather a nice big bounty that can persuade people to mine gapcoin for a day. I dont know if we can succeed to break the record in a day. But a try wont be bad.

What are your thoughts? I am not sure about the technicalities. For example maybe we are going to fork the coin or whatever. But i dont think that anyone would like to destroy the coin...

Share your thoughts. If you find the idea okay lets start discussing for a few days. And then start organising it. Keep in mind that the whole thing shouldnt be utopically perfect. At least we can give it a try...

Can someone talk a bit about lending XMR in Poloniex? What are the risks? Does it worth it? etc...

These are the interest rates people are lending their XMR for - 0.0165%

172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Any simple osCommerce module with price auto update? on: May 19, 2015, 05:19:39 AM
I want something that you have tried and works.
I dont want it to have anything to do with daemon. i will just use a single address or if something like this exist multiple predefined addresses. The reason is that i know nothing about security.

Actually the only thing i need is auto updating the price of BTC. Right now i have BTC module and  i have to update the price manually.

Thanks.

losing my faith in monero Undecided
how low do you guys think we will go?

Nice. Now get out fast and please let us be.

From your latest posts you have predicted a fall to 0.0015 and then below 0.002. You have also sold your last monero. Monero is 0.0025 now. So why do you even lose faith now?

What i mean is that your posts clearly show that you havent lost faith at all. But you just want to rebuy cheaper. And you also afraid that maybe sellers would stop selling and you wont be able to buy at the price you want...

1-way will be in Acharnes, for 2-way I am looking for something close to the Athens city centre

Can you be more specific? I understand if you cant though.

The jews controlled almost all the banks during the Weimar republic and lead Germany to severe economic depression, we have the same situation with the US now, coincidence?

Can we keep that out of here please?

Yeah i agree. I could really refute that and we would create a big conversation that will never end. But please not here....

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 24, 2015, 11:23:28 PM
TC is pretty easy to read, actually I'm pretty sure it's purposely done.

You see, TC is in buying mode right now. Not when it's cheaper.

Yes, I dont get why suddenly everyone is mad with him lol. He is very obvious on purpose I hope.

He must be somewhat of a legend in his own mind if he thinks these shallow, feeble attempts at manipulation will have any effect on the price.

According to him they have a positive effect on his balance Smiley I think his strategy works better at  trollbox rather than here though.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: April 24, 2015, 11:14:22 PM
I tried mining some with some shifts on the range around 380 but miners gave me 'illegal instruction core dump' error.

I then noticed that it gives me that error for every shift bigger than 192. So i put my miners running with shift 187-192. Lets see what happens.

It seems to work. Any reason why i get this error? Can my binaries be the problem?

My PPS is halved btw.

Looks like you've found a world record already on a shift 192--length 7546

https://bchain.info/GAP/block/8af4723fc2e9b9f460455ab09d38dcc9649d9a06e2927783a0e89c6efd522075

Yep i checked and i think its mine Smiley Hurray!

j0nn9, pdazzl

I have a few VMs with AMD processors. I think i have plenty of memory and thats not the problem. Running Ubuntu 14.04.  Unfortunately i cant install dependencies so i can only use binaries. Now since i am quite noob on those things, i know just the basics, when i made some binaries from the source  on my personal computer i couldnt run it on my VMs because of missing dependencies. See, i dont really know how to build nice static binaries (damn i am not sure if those are called like this, i am just a physics guy Tongue ) So i got permissions to install dependencies on one of my VMs once and somehow i built a binary that managed to work on the other VMs. The binary was like 15% slower but it did the job.

So what i think i need is a guide to show me how to static build gapminer...

Btw, i was thinking about an idea that probably will bring more people aboard. I am not sure if it can be done or maybe if it is bad so i am just writing it here for discussion. Is it possible to automatically know who (if he wants ofc) is mining the world record blocks so that we can list the records like this: Gapcoin[Username]
You know, the idea is that you are mining gaps for the coins, for science and for a position on the 'leaderboards'...
