I am mining with a few computers directly to a single wallet. But i am getting this error a lot:
2014-Apr-28 23:03:22.718380 [P2P9][my miners ip:port INC]COMMAND_TIMED_SYNC invoke failed. (-3, LEVIN_ERROR_CONNECTION_DESTROYED)
I wonder if does it work eventually or not. Cause lately i get 250% less blocks per day at least...

WTB 100K total 20BTC (0.0002 per MRO)
There are less than 280k coins out if i am correct. I doubt anyone will have so many... Yerz there's only 15705 * 17.59 = 276250 Even less cause right now block reward is already at 17.33

WARNING! I will urge you to backup the wallet! wallet files tend to get corrupted very fast! It has already happened to many and now to me! fortunately i had backups! It will happen to you too! Save the files!
What actions trigger corruption? No idea. I just turned on my PC and when i tried to load the wallet it didnt load as usually.

I want to delete my sell option.
Instead i would like to buy 2500 for 0.5 BTC

But you will gain the reward from both chains, aren’t you? I don’t understand it fully but from my side mining 2 chains is better than mining 1. Even if the difficulty is going up.
So, currently I support MM implementation.
I think, it’s a good idea. BCN has fairly stable exchange rate, moreover we solve 2 problems. First is the fear of closed community and the second one is the fear of new coin with untrusted (now) algorithm (MRO has no normal course or clear system of work). It’s no difference for our computing power to receive MRO or MRO + BCN. Don’t forget, that we are talking about money and this option will brings a real benefit for us. So, why should we abandon this function? And if the problem is in "policy" and developers disagreements, then why miners have to suffer? how come BCN has a fairly stable exchange rate? It is not listed anywhere. There are buy orders listed on the thread that noone actually responds. BCN preminers just seem to unloading the premine... As for the difference read the whole thread. IF we merge mine we MUST also mine BCN. And with all that premine BCN is useless... I traded BCN, smooth traded BCN and more... Exchange thread is active https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=531925.180. It's mine that BCN has fairly stable exchange rate IMO. Everyone doesn't use original arguments, of course. Indeed, we build an opinion on its own philosophy and put different things in priority. IMO, trading activity confirm Bytecoin to be stable. btw, BCN was not premined, that's the conclusion I recently came too. No doubt it's better to blame 'premining' on the fact that you're too late to join mining it. lol. I would like to ask just for the lolz how did you come up with your recet conclusion!

So what is going on right now? Those that actually downloaded from git the previous 2 days are merge mining?
What is the plan? I for no reason want to support BCN...

You should probably save the wallet files! Make backups!

I heard one of the multipools will start x11 mining. Which pool and when is this starting?

Is there demand for an OSX wallet?
Yes there is always a demand for an OSX wallet BTW i am getting more blocks than i was getting yesterday? Has diff gone down or am i lucky?

I also dont want merge mining with bytecoin. I think its better for monero to stay away from 80% premined bytecoin.

I'm unable to start_mining. I synchronize the blockchain with bitmonerod, and then I use simplewallet to start_mining, but I get: 2014-Apr-25 22:34:26.724501 Read command: start_mining 8 2014-Apr-25 22:34:31.724750 Failed to invoke http request to http://localhost:18081/start_mining2014-Apr-25 22:34:31.724776 Error: mining has NOT been started: possible lost connection to daemon In the bitmonerod terminal: 2014-Apr-25 22:40:16.245240 [RPC1][sock 28] Some problems at write: Broken pipe:32 2014-Apr-25 22:40:54.008484 [RPC1]Mining has started with 8 threads, good luck! 2014-Apr-25 22:40:54.008539 [miner 1]Miner thread was started [5] 2014-Apr-25 22:40:54.008530 [miner 0]Miner thread was started [4] ... I'm using Ubuntu 13.10, and I've followed the instructions in the OP. The cpu is an old 8 core intel i7 860 Any idea of what I'm doing wrong? Not sure what the issue is; if you can generate a wallet and sync the chain though, you can start mining in the daemon to your address directly though with the following command: start_mining <address> <number_of_threads> Btw i have to add that i am mining this way for a day now and it works just fine. So i dont have to check all my computers every day. Only thing i would like to ask is what happens in a 51% attack if you mine this way? Isnt it like sending coins to the address so epsecially now that the coin is new the attack can be used to double spend or something when mining this way?

I've just downloaded Windows binaries and daemon is syncing. I have few technical questions:
- Where is the blockchain stored in my computer (Windows/Linux/OSX) ? - Can i copy whole blockchain to another computer with another wallet so i don't have to download blockchain again ? - About mining, can i mine MRO on another computer and point the rewards to a random address (using the command posted on OP) of my own without having that wallet on that mining computer ?
I also notice that there was blocks generated 12 days ago (in daemon) but the coin is launched on 18th which is 6 days ago ?
i just put all my computers mining in 1 address. I will let you know if everything goes fine. I used start_mining [wallet address] [threads] on bitmonerod

next time you guys remember to stick to the original coin and not the copy clone with premine for a dev who just spend 2 hours copy pasting... This way you may not lose more money and support the actual original idea...

I generally agree with smooth. I just dont want another fork. I am starting getting bored of cryptos dividing themselves all the time... please, find a solution
|
|
|
I also agree that the fix is good. Since everyone's coins are halved noone gains and noone loses. And since this stops instamine more people will get to mine it as first adopters which is always good.
