How do we know that AMD doesnt have something similar?

What can one do since it is a monopoly?
402  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What percentage of their coins stuck at Bitstamp will customers get back? on: January 06, 2015, 10:38:08 AM
When Poloniex lost i think 11% of its BTC it took from every account 11% and repaid over time from the fees.

This way it was logical for the users to support the exchange if they wanted to get back their coins and so they didnt took everything out of it.

What i like is that the real bet is if you are indeed going to pay for the signature campaign Tongue

The white background at your website is not for my likes. It needs something better.

I cant believe that Cryptsy is not adding Gapcoin while we all know it adds whatever shitcoin exists.

They wont even permission for some reason a coin request thread at their support freshdesk despite i tried twice...

j0nn9 did the thread you tried to open there actually got permission or it got ignored too?

Did you apply the same fix for the Brony Bug?

I did nothing Cheesy It fixed itself... Or i did something that fixed it without knowing what it was...
406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 04, 2015, 05:53:08 PM
does anyone else experience this 'gray rectangle' problem?

it occurs only in this thread as far as I can tell.
looks like some chrome bug in relation to images.

I have a similar problem but the grey part is at the bottom instead of to the right.  I use Fedora on Linux, but the problem only occurs in this forum.

The bug appared when the forum started using an image service (imgur) to store and "sanitize" images.  It may have to do with the size of the file and the speed of the internet connection to the source where the image is uploaded from; basically there is an insufficient timeout somewhere along that path, and the file gets truncated.  Reducing the image size usually helps.  Try saving as JPEG format with quality 80 or less; it may get a bit fuzzy, but then you can wrap it in a link to the full version.

It is rumoured than, when the bitcoin price will reach 10'000 USD, the admins will be able to afford to hire a teenage programmer to fix this bug (and re-enable the uploading of avatars).

IT'S A LINUX BUG, mr Stolfi

Linux bug planted by the NSA Wink

More specifically a Chrome on Linux OS bug, no sign of it on Windows. It's also not just missing parts of the image, it's also blocking text content and they move.

But only bitcoiners experience this problem. Oh, and trolls.

Easy fix is to ignore NotLambchop.

EDIT: Hmmm, now I'm having doubts, perhaps it's only a Chrome bug and I just didn't experience it anymore because I ignored NotLambchop.
Either way there's an easy fix.

I was experiencing this too some weeks ago. Now i dont. Chrome on Ubuntu btw...

I will also consider donating a few hundred XMRs in a few days. I want to see how things go first...

Hashrate was getting lower and lower and came back in a moment.  Are we going for new highs and new records? Cheesy

Maybe we have a new efficient miner?

What's the significance of the pi logo? Tongue

http://gapcoin.org/  The last paragraph answers the question.

I wanted to ask, but what about the anonymity of this coin?

It is as anonymous as bitcoin. So it isnt but anyway the purpose of the coin is not anonymity...

Looks like i was too optimistic!

Who can make the monero logo melt like this? Tongue
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 15, 2014, 04:58:52 AM
TrueCryptonaire it looks like you didnt sell at right price Tongue

What i see is that mayor selling has stopped for some days now. And if people want to buy now say 20 BTC worth of XMR they have to raise the price like 20%.
Weak hands have left weeks now. And those that look at monero to drop a bit more are getting restless that they will miss the chance to get in.

Imagine just 1 good thing to happen right now. Like cryptsy or btce(yeah i am dreaming Tongue) adding monero. A well known news site with a nice article. Maybe a darkweb service really adding monero. Or finally some progress with that damn gui we saw pictures of it months ago and nothing came out. Even just 1 investor wanting to put 50 BTC right now is enough to make the coin going upwards.

I may be very optimistic though. In any case i am going to put maybe the last 10 BTC for me if it goes to drop beyond 0.001...
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: December 15, 2014, 12:28:23 AM
I made a thread here twice https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/forums/4000000207 but it never showed up. Dont know why.

Someone else may want to try it again. Or just spam cryptsy. They add every shit coin that exist i dont think they will have a problem adding gapcoin...

I just wrote cryptsy, and they "submitted the coin to their development team who will review it to see if it meets the requirements for addition to the Cryptsy exchange."

Got the same but nothing happened after days passing. In fact if i go now and try it again because of the title it finds the post i tried to make in the 'Matching Topics Found' with those links but they just doesnt show up:

Today mining creates about 7000 less monero per day than in the start.
