1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 19, 2014, 12:39:52 PM
I sold all my MROs in the yesterdays dumps Sad. I don't have any at the moment - very silly. I hope I'll solo mine a block. Someone willing to send me 1? Thank you.

MRO:
Code:

I think i bought a few hundreds from you at the lowest point! Smiley Well you dont seem to understand that the coin is solid! I consider them so underpriced that i am afraid to daytrade! It only needs a GUI to come out for the price to double again...

I edited and asked you in the other thread but you may not saw that. Did you recompiled cpuminer today? Cause it has many changes from yesterday.
Quick recompiling:

Quote
sudo apt-get install -y build-essential automake libcurl4-openssl-dev pkg-config && cd ~/monero && rm -rf cpuminer && mkdir cpuminer && cd cpuminer && git clone http://github.com/Lucasjones/cpuminer-multi.git && pushd cpuminer-multi && ./autogen.sh && export CFLAGS="-O3 -march=native" && ./configure && make && unset CFLAGS && popd

I know there is a faster way to recompile from github, but I don't know it

i learned today thanks to IRC Smiley

cd cpuminer-multi

git fetch

git pull

./autogen.sh

./configure CFLAGS="-O3"

make

and its ready Smiley

Is there any working combination of a pool and a multi-threaded miner on linux?

I am trying to use LucasJones/cpuminer-multi.

With moneropool.org or extremepool, it does not work at all. Sometimes it works for a while, sometimes I get rejects (booos) only (for long period). When I get booos, it reports share diff=0...

With moneropool.com it seems to work and there are no rejects. But something is wrong with share diff adjustments, as I get less and less found shares and the hashrate reported on the pool keeps decreasing.

I edited and asked you in the other thread but you may not saw that. Did you recompiled cpuminer today? Cause it has many changes from yesterday.

With moneropool.org it is acting really weird. Most of the time I get something like 95% rejects:

[2014-05-18 22:45:29] LONGPOLL detected new block

Same issue with extremepool.org.

With moneropool.com it seems to work fine. Maybe pool software incompatibility? Or latency issue (I am in Europe)?

Some of my VMs keep working fine. On some i get the same as you. I dont know but i think it is something with the pools. I am mining on moneropool.com right now because on other pools after some time my hash was going to zero.

Actually its a bug with longpooling it seems... But for now i dont know any fix...

Oh btw did  you compiled the new cpuminer-multi? it had some changes from yesterday.
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 18, 2014, 08:17:30 PM
Oh really. Do you have any idea where those timestamps come from?

If they stored a hash of the the BCN genesis block into the BTC blockchain buried back in 2012, I'd be somewhat impressed. Timestamps in their own blockchain, not so much.

You never miss a beat, do you smooth. You're like the Cryptocoin conspiracy theorist.

Why would a group of people who devoted so much time and thought, create a lie about something as trivial as a date.

To justify keeping 150 billion coins instead of relaunching it upon release.

You want it all handed to you on a silver platter. Do remember that the devs never publicly posted this to the forum and never attempted to spread it to the bitcoin community. No ANN or Re-launch. It was discovered and posted by DStrange and spread by a lot of the people involved with Monero whether it be Devs or Early adopters, myself included. So once again, the need for them to lie is very moot at this point.

+1

It's useless to argue with smooth about bytecoin. He has his own religion. It's like him believing in Flying Spaghetti Monster. We cannot claim him for his religion =)

Meanwhile the only one that truly believes that there is nothing wrong with 80% of bytecoins mined without a single info of bytecoin for alleged 2 years is you. It's like you believe in God. Actually now that i think about it in Xenu! Cheesy
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 18, 2014, 04:54:09 PM
Please help me, I am mining on pool with cpuminer-multi. After start I got shares accepted, but after a couple of minutes I can't get any yay. Why? What is wrong?

pool difficulty goes up and it takes more time to find shares. If you let it mine it should be okay after a while.

The most reasonable explanation IMO is that it was a test coin for some time and devs instead of launching a new one without their test premine decided to launch it and see what money they can grab by dumping what they have.

A few conspiracy like comments like hurr durr this coin is very known in dark net and who knows for what is being used make noobs believing in that.

Well i guess somehow devs should be paid for their very nice algo. And as people exist that fall for it even for a few BTC thats good for devs Smiley No hard feelings. They seem to have delivered a very promising algo.

Ok, so besides mining I think I'm gonna spend some of my scrypt earnings on monero.

But wouldn't it be wise to hold out a bit buying it? I mean surely the influx of new coins will be bigger once there is a gui wallet and gpu miner and "proper" pools? Or am I wrong?

The whole development on CN coins is getting done for monero right now. The rest are irrelevant and will continue to be except if they bring something innovative. Boolberry might be promising but not for now.

I've found 3 blocks since launch and have commited my alias to the blockchain forever.

My hashrate is about 3 MH / s.

Can you please tell me how many coins there are per block? Cheers

type set_log 1 to check blocks on daemon. it also says difficulty and reward.
1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 17, 2014, 06:19:28 PM
i also got paid from moneropool.org

Anyone else having trouble finding a block?

I've been mining since launch with 32 threads and a hashrate of 1648035 and nothing yet.

There are only 116 blocks as for now. So its quite difficult to find a block. And it seems many people are mining. Blocks are coming slow. Not like all the instamined coins out there...

i am getting this on digital ocean VMs

Please, before build delete folder "build", to be sure.

thats only for those that already had compiled testnet i guess?
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Digital Ocean Monero Pool Mining Guide! CPU only! [MRO] Cryptonight Algo! on: May 17, 2014, 04:01:35 PM
it seems that there's some problem with this miner, after accept some shares , then it chould find nothing with a really low hasreate, do you have the same problem

Actually i got a share after a while. So it seems that this works. For me the problem is the cant call rpc command error...

hmm i am not sure. Let me monitor it for a while. I am getting another error for now.
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 17, 2014, 03:51:24 PM
so, i'm on moneropool.org, a block was found, theoretically i should receive my share, right?

now the tricky stuff.. i downloaded the blockchain, placed it in the appropriate folder. next i start bitmonerod.exe?

since it does stuff (synching the blockchain?) i'll just let it run for a while.

later i'll just start simplewallet.exe and type "balance". am i correct?

yep. but although i dont know about windows i think "balance" should be "refresh"
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 17, 2014, 03:47:15 PM
I made a simple Digital Ocean guide for pool mining. It should work for most Debian distros too. However i am not sure how stable miner or pools are. For example i am getting failed to call rpc command after 2 tries error...
