it's a conspiracy by the bitcoin elite
they are known as the bitcoin illuminati, sometimes referred to as whales.
they control everything that happens with bitcoins

well now i know how gox with have some extra coins back, they'll sue the OP for libel
|
|

Gox to prove a point, bunch of jerks
or to buy btc at a lower price because they messed up and need cheap btc.
always blame gox, right?

So basically because MTGOX is running a custom version of the bitcoin client their user base is fucked on bitcoin withdrawals.
Other exchanges like BTC-e and bitstamp do not appear to have this issue.
Looks like more delay.
Sucks to be anyone with BTC or fiat stuck in MTGOX. It is looking like a prison for your money.
relax, smoothie

blockchain.info isn't affected beacuse they aren't an exchange. DUH!!!!!!! this has to do with internal network verification vs the blockchain. this is more of an issue for an exchange that mixes up everyones balances internally.
blockchain.info doesn't move balances around internally and since the person controls their own private key this issue has nothing to do with them.

looks like the devs tried to defend themselves too quickly.
are people going to go after btce and bitstamp now?
looks like it's a PR stunt/nightmare for everyone. including the devs.
guess there was more truth in gox's statement than people care to give them credit for.
(i'm not saying that they aren't incompetent by all means)
don't worry 99%+ of all bitcoins should still be there
|
|
|
looks like there was more truth in the mtgox press release that the core devs dared to admit. apparently now they are coordinating a "solution" asap blame gox for everything you want but a problem is a problem

the part i never get is that the majority of tinfoil hatters and fud spreaders (even if true) are always people who have joined within the last few months. every single time shit happens. somehow the newbies are usually the most vocal, as if they suffered through, 2011 etc
|
|

out of curiosity i wonder how many people maliciously exploited this flaw, to what degree etc. i'm 100% confident that their accounts are all frozen and depending on the amount their information may be turned over to police for criminal prosecution. however, there is a chance that some people may have withdrawn a bit too many without their account being frozen at which point a full criminal complaint will be the only way to go. can't wait to see the unfolding of this. also, hope gox patches this up-
at least now people understand what ACTUALLY HAPPENED! (that's always a good thing)

everyone seems to forget that Mark is NOT a native english speaker, nor are the JAPANESE people. whoever wrote the press statement in the ENGLISH language may not have carefully analyzed every word used and chosen the best one. people forget that MTGOX is a japanse company run by a french guy
|
|
|
who cares as long as people know the coins are 100% and fraudulent account utilizing this exploit have been locked down. if so take as long as necessary to make sure it works CORRECTLY
|
|
|
everyone likes to blame gox
gox has many problems
keep in mind extra problems added by governments, banks, hackers, retards combine them all together.... what else you expect? gox is more or lessa legit, problems are a pain in the ass
too much fud lately, gox has many battles to overcome

It is actually a technical glitch. A serious one, but I don't think they've run out of bitcoins, they've just been forced to stop withdrawals until they fix their software, it was doing withdrawals wrong & some people may have exploited that. They probably lost some bitcoins as a result, hopefully they can afford to replace them.
It's not going to kill bitcoin, there are plenty of other exchanges. If you put your life savings into bitcoin then you're a fool. It's gambling, only bet money you can afford to lose.
Again, Do you really think they can fix a REAL technical issue in just 2 days? If they were this competent, wouldn't they have fixed it a long time ago?gox usually fixes all the issues they've had over the years.. what's your point. this time it's "different" . jeez the fudsters. if it's a technical issue and the coins are still there things will be fixed. quite simple

your post seems awfully full of doom and gloom. you could have written in a non-biased way, right?

Well it will go down to 0 unless AM produce something in the next few months. Jury's out on that one. obviously, but whats the point of stating it. company fails price goes to 0 company succeeds price goes higher
