Fantastic news

Thank you for the update.

News: Ken is flying out to California this week to talk to eASIC. Also this week, we will be getting a finished prototype of the Avalon board around the 23rd from an engineering firm. This firm will also be building the entire device once the board is approved and the chips arrive.

We are about a week behind on the Avalon prototypes, due to us having to get some bitcoins converted.  I was dragging my feet due to the price of bitcoin being $68 at the time.  Everything is looking good for the end of August for the Avalon clones.  Looks like our 20,000 chips are going to be about two weeks late from what I have read.

Nice original thread here.  I think BTC will go higher.  It's likely some event will occur that makes BTC more widely known and from that point it can spread by word of mouth.  If someone's telling you about Bitcoin but everyone else you know has never heard of it youre likely to ignore it.  When it gets to the point where 1/15 people or more have heard of it, it can start to take off, everyone will want at least 1 whole Bitcoin which isn't going to happen, but can for the very early adopters or very wealthy.

by the time 1/15 people know about 1 btc would likely cost more than $10,000+

Seeing these $10.000+ comments never gets old.  On what planet are people going to pay $10,000/BTC.  Matter of fact, who's going to buy it all the way up to $10,000?

To the thread title, I agree bitcoin is headed back down to the 50's but it can always go up just the same.  There's positive news in Africa, which could be huge and Argentina (as I was recently arguing about) is using BTC as a means to USD but we can't ignore that does increase exposure.  So to say there's nowhere to go but down, I think is fundamentally flawed based on the continued resilience of Bitcoin.  $10k? Dreaming... Roll Eyes

baby troll (tm) - can you do basic math and 2+2 kind of problems?

He's got enough btc or $ now to not need investors for long term company. Why would he want to give up equity at this stage of progress. It's just like asking tytus to work more, get paid less to.give others more. Maybe a distant possibility

1088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [Public Announcements] Large Verifiable Transactions on: July 19, 2013, 10:15:11 PM
I would like this thread to be used by *verified* people (companies etc)
that WANT to announce a large transaction they need to make or have recently made (we're not using dark pools at the moment that i'm aware of), possibly with a reason, possibly with the method used.
this could be used by the public to understand market movements or adjust or comprehend what's happened.
it will allow people to understand the need for selling or buying so people can act more informed.

not sure how much interest this has from people or if it'll be used. hopefully.
not for speculation!

hahaha

Kenneth said he reached funding goals, and said previously that he would pull any walls once funding has been reached.

However, he puts up a new 100,000 share wall on BTCT as well as a 100,000 share wall on BitFunder at .00265

The email went out at 355.. 7 minutes ago.

Posting from my SG3

We at this point have enough funding to pay the NRE; however, there still are funding needs over the next few weeks to pay expenses as I have outlined in a previous post.  So, as soon as those funding goals are made, then the walls will come down.  Should we receive enough wire transfers on the machines we have sold, then the walls will come down.

don't crash the market selling all at once
1090  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-07-19 BBC: Living off Digital currency for a week. on: July 19, 2013, 07:54:00 PM
Lol, I've spent the last 2 years living solely on Cryptos. Although, my expenses aren't very high. I want an article   Tongue

So you spent the last 2 years:
  • Not paying taxes? Don't worry, this is only a felony.
  • Without filling up the tank? No problem. Live in Manhattan.
  • Eating only Foodler (junk food)? Must be American, I guess.
  • With no visits to the hospital? Some just never get sick.
  • Neglecting rent/property tax? Or, you know, live on the streets.

I find your statement incredibly hard to believe, unless you live in a slum in Somalia.

read her profiles, she's a 12 yr old female. of course she can live off cryptos for 2 years

how many more shares are going up and at what price and when?
1092  Economy / Securities / Re: [PicoStocks] 100TH/s bitcoin mine [100th] on: July 19, 2013, 07:45:22 PM
I have to say that more info regarding 100TH direct involvement in development, investments in Bitfury tech and design etc. would be exceptionally interesting to I believe all investors. Future upgrade plans, hardware sales etc. is something that I think could really take 100TH to the "next level".

they were very clear that this is just a one off- only 100th and that's it. you don't get anything reinvested back to earn you anything more. that will likely be a separate offering. this is purely a "bond". no reinvestment or any tech ip etc
1093  Economy / Speculation / Re: September BTC BOOM! on: July 19, 2013, 06:24:28 PM
deflation... whatev. some 5000 coins sold months ago and gox crashing for a week. get over it. time to move on and look at all the positive things that have happened since.
1094  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 18, 2013, 11:36:21 PM
and yes. growing pains is likely. bitinstant went down because they too became over successful.

LOL wut? I think you need to do some more research.

they are closed for business because too many people began using them and they got overloaded (things got really bad with them). bitinstant v3 coming around the corner
1095  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 18, 2013, 09:56:45 PM
it's about sharing - we don't have access to ANY of that information.
about overall withdrawal requests from the exchanges. we have buying and selling but that doesn't say anything regarding outgoing wires.
all we can do is.................speculate

and yes. growing pains is likely. bitinstant went down because they too became over successful.
not giving excuses just saying it is very likely
1096  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 18, 2013, 09:42:27 PM
Right now Bitstamp shows the future price of MtGox.
Or MtGox shows the future price of Bitstamp.
I think that bitstamp should follow gox, because of difference in volume...?

Well think about it. If Gox has a problem getting money out, then how do you get money out? You buy coins and sell them elsewhere. What does that do? It drives the price down on these others exchanges.
And, it also inflates the price on Gox as your choice there is to either buy coins or sit in fiat. No taking your money out, no moving it to another exchange (outside of via coins), etc.

Gox is still the leader in volume but that is declining fairly steadily. I think they are a very secure exchange, but people are getting tired of their crap. The choices are increasing, and if you are not a daytrader, then Gox is no longer the clear leader (actually, even if you are...)

the issue with that is once any other exchange gets the VOLUME and $$$$$$ amount in their banks they too will have more issues. it's not like mtgox INVENTED these banking problems. once bitstamp and campbx get huge influx they too many have issues regarding traditional banking wires and fiat liquidity
1097  Economy / Speculation / Re: any news driving this drop on: July 18, 2013, 09:37:41 PM
You really think it won't hit $100 again one day? Of course it will!
I really don't. Triple digits is a thing of a distant bubble mania past.

you should bet and escrow your bet! back up what you think with real stakes
1098  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Mt. Gox collapses, what would be the influence on the price? on: July 18, 2013, 09:35:25 PM
receipt of outgoing wires have been confirmed.
mt gox may still collapse regardless.
1099  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 18, 2013, 09:34:27 PM
many numerous verified reports of people receiving their wires in the last 2 days!

various sources and various confirmations. time for people to pay out that bounty -
mt gox almost back to it's almost business
1100  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 18, 2013, 08:16:22 PM
mtgox has the 503 load errors 90% of the time on cell phones for the last 2 weeks.
