It is not an option to produce, but if the wallet does not give you a private key, it is most likely closed source and therefore you cannot trust it. Avoid using any closed source wallet, it is not well audited and there is no option to extract the private key.
As mentioned above, to enhance the security of your account, try to reduce exposure of seeds to the Internet or include them in other wallets.

If the wallet does not give us private key, then it is not our wallet. Regardless whether it is an open source or closed source.  Without any private key we do not have 100% access to our coins. I greatly agree that we must avoid using these kinds of wallet because  these kinds of wallet can forbid us to access our coins once the creator of the wallet decided to commit a rug pull. It is the same with the saying "not your keys not your coins"
162  Other / Off-topic / Re: Learn to be safe and secured online on: October 09, 2023, 11:02:19 PM
Aside from knowing the list stated by @OP, there are other kind of threat online. Threat like malware and ransomware are rampantly infecting victims.  One of the recent news in my country is the Philhealth being hacked through backdor malware that enable the hacker to control the system. This is one of the example of the ransomware and said to be infected through the device of one of its staff working at home.

So aside from being on lookout for Phishing, Vishing and Smishing, one should also tighten their internet security for possible data hack.  Installing anti-malware  or internet cyber security can greatly help to avoid this king of attacks.

Most importantly, avoid clicking unknown links.
163  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 08, 2023, 10:49:45 PM

I choose this one.

Quote
1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

If there is  really a good way to increase the amount and I am knowledgeable about that way then why not?  Sometimes it is better to try smaller business to test if we have a knack for it than jumping into a larger business only to find out that we don't have the talent needed to manage it.

2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

Make a plan better and ensure have enough capital to start, not just only we have the minimum amount. Don't rush mate, better to set it aside and add more. The other option may be to start a business that only requires small capital but is profitable. Don't think about failure when doing business but instead, make a plan to become successful because the moment that you think negatively, that will also lead to uncertainties and easily give up when difficulties come.

Failing is not normal if we really are doing and planning it well. Of course, there is dedication in both parties and optimism.

There should be an excess fund especially when the business have people to pay.  The first months to years of a business may not be profitable so we need an extra fund for the business sustenance on its first two years in order for the business operation to be smooth.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advice to friend for financial improvement. on: October 08, 2023, 10:30:59 PM
Aside from investing in Bitcoin, if your friend wanted to immediately see a financial improvement, if he is having a job, then it is a good advice to look for an additional source of income.  This way his extra income will supplement his main source of income.  You should also have advised your friend to be thrifty and not dwell on luxurious things.  This will only siphon his wealth and he will only find himself borrowing money to maintain these kinds of luxurious activity.

I believe, to further improve finances, one must learn financial management.  This way he will learn how to spend his finances wisely.

In addition make a good use of the tools and options available in the create message page.  Like for example, the use of list is essential when we are making lists of advises.  A simple command of
Code:
Can be a normal list format

The steps I observe will work well in making a good post will follow this pattern
  • The first thing is to decide/research on the subject you want to write on : it is very important to know what you want to write about and also analyze to know if the purpose is to educate or seek answers to doubt bothering you. After which you do your research to get facts and also check if a similar thing has been posted on the forum.
  • get some writing aid : even if you have the best idea, if you don't write it out the right way using the right punctuation Mark as well as the right word in the right place, your post might not be understood. The Grammarly app helps a lot with the correction of typo errors.
  • Create a good title :  there are posts I have seen with great titles that even if I don't feel like reading anything at that moment, I just have to check the content of the post because of how inviting the topic is.
  • Start your writing very well: try not to bore your readers down with lengthy post that has little information/message. Try your best to catch the attention of your readers within the first two lines of your post so your reader gets a clue about what you are writing and do not get bored while reading through your content
  • If you are replying, know when to reply, when to do a full quote, and when to quote a selected portion of a text you are replying to.This might help out. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5346341.msg57335807#msg57335807
  • Always preview your typed work before posting
  • most importantly, be real: be yourself, enjoy the critics, make the mistakes, and don't be afraid to learn something new from every post and comment you make.

Even when your post doesn't get recognized that much don't let it discourage you, learn your lesson and come back better.

166  Economy / Gambling / Re: make some developments related gambling on: October 06, 2023, 09:13:42 PM
There are casinos that don't want to make their mobile apps yet because their website is responsive to mobile users and that's totally fine. It's true that there's now a wide range of people gambling coming from their homes through desktops and laptops. Now with how things are becoming more convenient the desire to gamble whenever and wherever you are is just a few taps away from your smartphones. Are you suggesting that all casinos should create their mobile apps as that's part of the development that you're saying? If so, it depends to their userbase and they can see it on from what device their users are accessing it and if there's a demand for those casinos that don't have app yet and there are suggestions telling them to make one, they'll do that for sure as part of their great user experience and growth for their customers.
I like the websites more than the apps and the websites that are working on Mobile phones without any issue are the best. Apps are to occupy space. Assuming all the casinos are using apps and you download all of them, you phone memory would full and no space to store any other things again. Apps are matter that occupied space. But in a more serious note, the two are good because they are all online and online gambling is the best for now and it has taken over traditional gambling methods.

Phone storage are getting bigger these days so I think installing gambling apps won't be an issue unless a person is using a historic phone Grin.  But I agree, most casinos are using a mobile compatible layout website in replace of the mobile apps since as the early replies stated, mobile apps have weaknesses that can be easily exploited.  The invention of the internet really paves ways for gambling to  promulgate and get easily accessed by gambling lover people, thus the growth of the industry is really booming.  This also gives regulators improve their rules accordingly.
167  Economy / Economics / Re: Marriage mean double your passive income, rental property mean double your passi on: October 06, 2023, 08:55:12 PM
Working hard isn't a myth, I know that there are people who have been working smart and they're living a good life. But don't ignore what the hard-working people do. I understand and agree with the logic about getting your rental property or any business or asset that generates money passively to sustain any other activities or assets and businesses you have. It's a common thing for the rich folks but not applicable to the normies and plebs who are living paycheck to paycheck. The logic about marrying rich is actually happening in many parts of my country and it's like a norm these days but this is only for women who wants to have a shortcut in life to have a decent living. But it's all up to you to decide if that's your take and way to go to enjoy life. And going back to rentals and passive income, it's truly one of the wonders of this world.

Working hard is a myth for lazy people because they don't believe in it or most probably they are avoiding it.  Lazy people prefer to become leeches so they planned to get married to a wealthy partner so that they can become wealthy without doing anything.

Even smart people work hard in order to get the wealth that they desired.

I don't mind early or late marriages but it should be planned.  Future of the family should be planned so that they can be prepared on whatever hardship that may come to their family.

~

I mean you have a good point, but I guess it wasn't really that bad to go for early profit as long as it is still a profit even though it wasn't a big amount of profit, profit still profits so it is still good enough, also it wouldn't really matter since you're going to have the opportunity to reinvest your money again in case the market price drop again if the market price starts to skyrocket again arent you going to sell your Bitcoin, I believed that there were just some investors that doesnt really have the plan to sell there Bitcoin which I think is a good move but isn't a waste since your investing in cryptocurrency or Bitcoin in order to make a profit right? probably some are going to save not only for profit, but let's be honest we all invest just to make a good amount of profit, so if we did make a good profit aren't you going to sell your holdings?

I also agree, whether to hodl or sell in short term as long as the person is in profit it is still a good trade/investment.  It would be better if one is knowledgeable with trading to exercise trading then holding since trading can greatly increase an investors position if all his actions is a success.  There might be more risk involve but if successful the investor can reap more reward or profit.  Short term holdin isn't also a bad thing as long as he is able to rinse and repeat his action.  Besides profit will never be realized if we don't sell our stash.

169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this fascination with claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto? on: October 06, 2023, 08:20:18 PM

I believe it is more on popularity.  If they are verified to be Satoshi Nakamoto, their name will be embedded in the annals of history and may receive lots of recognition.  By getting the acknowledgement of people, their legacy will be imprinted in the history.

Quote
Which other faketoshis do you know?

The earlier replies already given their name.

Quote
And have you ever taken any of them seriously?

No, as long as they can't sign the known address of Satoshi, they should be ignored.

173  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 05, 2023, 07:35:58 PM
There are many people around us, where their income is not enough to manage a family how do you manage your family and economy? There are many people who manage their family very well even though their income is very low in their personal life, how do you manage it?

If the incoming fund does not suffice to meet the basic needs of 3x meal a day, then the family need to adjust by reducing the meal, or the provider looking for an additional source of income.  Very low does not necessarily means it is not enough for the basic needs.  These families manage well because they do plans and budgeting in order to make their income fit the budget.  The family is probably does not engage in extra spending and mostly each penny in their hands is smartly budgeted and allocate to needs.
174  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin volatility on: October 05, 2023, 07:17:44 PM
In my experience, it seems that Bitcoin is less volatile this year. I have been involved with Bitcoin for a couple of years. The price seems quite stable, and very rarely are we seeing high volatility. It's most probably because holders don't want to sell and there are fewer new buyers as well. That means buyers and sellers are almost the same; when there is a difference, we see a little volatility. But that isn't countable or volatile compared to other years. I will say it's not bad at all; it's more of a natural growth than a pump dump. People should realise holding Bitcoin is worthy now, and it's just not a pump-and-dump game.

It is possible because people are less likely got affected by news and unsupported hypes now a day. It looks like the market has developed its resistance to minor news and unfounded hypes/FUD. Unlike in the previous years where traders and investors react in every news about cryptocurrency making the price swing too volatile. Just like in the earlier years, we have seen how price greatly increase or greatly decrease when a news comes out to the public.
175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 05, 2023, 06:54:28 PM
What do you say about the Lady? Did she do well in the public? As I said, gambling is not your mate, take precautions.

It looks like the lady lost a huge sum of money.  Maybe she used all her savings to bet on a sports hoping to double his money without thinking the possibilities of losses.  it is a pity that she failed to control herself and regret her action later when she lost all his money.

It is a good thing that she fear death since according to the article the lady stated that she almost took her life due to the losses.  This is a warning that gambling with money we can't afford to lose will always lead to devastation.

176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons of my experience and knowledge about Bitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 06:09:30 PM
_ Stick to Bitcoin: it's the real deal. Don't gamble on other cryptos

Bitcoin is proven to be highly liquid, despite its liquidity it is still considered as highly volatile what more with altcoins.  Most of these (altcoin) projects are made to make money out of their investors money.

Quote
_ Avoid trading altcoin: you are not a genius trader, you will eventually get burned.

I would say, not entirely all the altcoins out there, there are also some good altcoin to trade since they also have a good liquidity but better to choose carefully and consider the fundamentals.

Quote
_ Never trust price prediction: no one has a crystal ball.

True that, even seasoned analyst often made a mistake on their prediction.

Quote
_ DCA into Bitcoin, emotions aside, No need to time this market.

This is the best, IMO, strategy to accumulate Bitcoin without being pressured in terms of financial capability.

Quote
_ share Bitcoin cautiously, people might think you want to scam them.

Or they might develop ill-intention thinking a person is filthy rich and might make a plan to rob or extort his Bitcoin holdings.

Quote
_ Attend meet up and conference, the Bitcoin community is awesome.

This would be great for connection but if we are just for the information, I would agree with the earlier reply that better to just watch it on YT.

Quote
_ Guide newcomers to the crypto industry to Bitcoin only.

New comers will be missing out on information if we only direct them to Bitcoin, it is best to let them know about altcoins too and the difference between the two.

Quote
_join #bitcoin Twitter: it's less lonely with fellow holders.

I also dislike twitter, and i think this forum is enough to feel that we are not alone in our Bitcoin venture.

177  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My First Advice To Beginner Traders on: October 05, 2023, 01:50:27 PM
May I add one more on @OP's list, aside from mindset and learning, attitude is also needed to be a successful trader.  Here is a good to read article if one wants to know the different attitude of a successful trader:

Positive Mental Qualities of Successful Traders
What Kind of Attitude is Necessary to Become a Successful Trader?
Top Five Attitudes of Successful Traders

With all the mindset, motivation and learning if a trader does not have the right attitude, all of their effort will be in vain. Like for example, a trader lacking patience will often end up selling their stash at a lost or at a minimal profit missing out on the supposed to be actual profit if they just waited for the target price to realized.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 04, 2023, 10:57:13 PM
I don't mind keeping my gambling habit till the old age.  For me it is one of the entertainment that remove my stress after a long week work.  I do not go out and watch movies or have some outside fun activity because I don't feel like going out where there is a huge present of people after experiencing the pandemic.

As long as I am able to control myself and gambling do not affect my finance negatively, I will keep on gambling and have fun playing in a gambling platform till old age.
179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: October 04, 2023, 10:38:42 PM
It depends on the aspect you are viewing it from, there are lot of profitable traders.
Saying trading can ruin someone is understatement. It can only ruin you if you lack the bases such as experience and knowledge. With sufficient information about trading, it can change your life forever and vice versa.
Get the skills, utilize it and you shall prosper. Even after having the knowledge, you should try and put risk management into consideration by going for a better risk to reward ratio of nothing less than 1:3. All these put together will make you not to be ruined by trading.

The things that separates the successful trader to a loser is their knowledge, decision and traits while trading.   Most successful traders have dedicated their time in learning and relearning the curves of trading and at the same time gathering the latest information and news about the asset they are trading with.  Successful traders also make use of their TA and fundamental knowledge very well while those who losses in trades might have missing some of the factor that make them uninformed about the possibility of the next move of the market or make miscalculation of the next move of the market.

180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: October 04, 2023, 10:20:11 PM
The casino has to protect their bankroll, so seeing people getting banned or limited in a casino is the norm of their action. May it be an online casino or a land-based casino  this kind of unethical rule is taking place. One example is a thread created by dimonstration titled Restricted on casino bonuses where he was restricted on any casino bonuses because he is on 20/20 winning streak.

It is the right of the casino to accept or reject a player so we cannot do anything about their action but find another platform to play with if in case we are restricted due to excessive winnings.
