1601  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: A Mail I Received Today.. on: May 16, 2023, 12:42:02 AM

^ Ohno I'm not sure how those hacks start but there were discussions I've read before that hackers could attach an executable file on a file that when opened, its going to connect to the hacker's server.

It's best to just not open the emails and files attached to them when you know you are not expecting any emails from a company. I think everybody have received emails where BTC is to be claimed by us. The best solution is just to ignore it.
1602  Economy / Speculation / Re: Leak Reveals Secret Democratic Plan For A Game-Changing U.S. Crypto Crackdown on: May 16, 2023, 12:31:42 AM

Why do they even have a hearing in the first place, It is a waste of time doing this since the lawmakers already have a mandate to just consider all securities including the stablecoin.

It's all just a show. They've already decided, crypto companies should just go to the EU after all they have regulations in place there. I think it's what they want also.
1603  Economy / Gambling / Re: MegaPari is nominated for the BSG Awards 2023 on: May 15, 2023, 08:43:45 PM

Marketing needs funds to be more effective if the campaign is stopped, the casino will always be taken over by the next platform which is more aggressive in its marketing.

Congrats! Never thought there are more than 10 Sports betting platforms in the Baltic region. All are unknown to the Bitcoin community but Megapari.
I was wondering what BSG means as I see no other known crypto casino was listed. Found out BSG means Baltic and Scandinavian Gaming.
1604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2.4% People from Bangladesh Hold Cryptocurrency on: May 15, 2023, 07:12:57 PM

2.4% of the people in the country must have the balls to do things despite some news where people are arrested.  You can just say the incentive of owning BTC is more enticing and that risking is more worth than just saving money in the bank.

The country I believe also can be compared to Sri Lanka where people are working hard every day for pennies. If I were also a citizen of the country, I would also be engaging in crypto.
1605  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Spot trading or future trading which trading is best for beginers? on: May 15, 2023, 01:55:02 AM
Even the not-so-newbie prefers the spot because it's easy to just hold the BTC whenever the price drops. When you buy  0.02BTC @ $500 and the price dips and its value drops $400, your BTC will still be 0.02BTC. Nothing is lost compared to futures trading where you'd lose some if you exit the position. Worse if you get the margin call your money will be liquidated.

For a newbie, the Spot market is a good way to train yourself, you don't even need a demo account.
1606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BEST TIMEZONE FOR SPORTsBETTING on: May 15, 2023, 01:02:39 AM

I don't know whether that matters since the matches of the games are scheduled, you just have to identify what time the fight is in your country. The matches are always on time, you just have to schedule yourself as well in order to watch. Or you can just bet without watching the game. It doesn't matter what you're after is just betting and wining.
1607  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Wetin go happen to our stored Bitcoin, if Nigeria release her ban on: May 15, 2023, 12:57:38 AM
Analysis is right though.
Before the ban happens I think you will need to sell. If this is about to happen and you don't wanna lose the value, you will need to sell. As suggested above just stablecoin will be the option for you.

There is more freedom in using DEX but the disadvantage is that the price in Dexes is very different from the prices we have on major exchanges. It's the same in P2p, especially in the country where BTC is banned.
1608  Economy / Services / Re: [jv]My adsense account+your traffic. on: May 15, 2023, 12:29:13 AM
I have an adsense account for more than 10 years. If you have a website or traffic and need adsense, we can cooperate. If you are interested, skype  19830201

Do you have your own website and want to expand your earnings because, in the olden days, you cannot get Adsense without a website, if I have websites with a good flow of traffic I will just apply for my own AdSense account, Adsense requirements are, the age of the website which is 6 months old and a good traffic flow and interesting and unique content.

So if I have all of these,  why would I share my earnings when I can get one of my own it will be complicated having to share earnings since I'm the one bringing the money in.

Good point. Why risk when you can have your own adsense account. I wonder if you being a partner can have access to that adsense account and check the data. Because that would be something you can use as a partner of him.

If I were OP I would probably just use the account to monetize youtube videos, it's been a good source for most of the influencers by just uploading related niches to it.  Is crypto-related content allowed in adsense?

1609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: May 14, 2023, 08:25:39 PM

I doubt people will still reelect Biden after all the things he did in this first term. He'd be 90+ afaik, as he will just be sitting in the wheelchair by then. We have seen him fell many times as he climbs up the plane stairs. Trump will win. There is no other candidate who can make the US work together than Trump. Even Elon tweeted Trump will win this time around.

Well I would not be too sure about him not being voted in just because of his age. He was already an old man when he got voted in the first time. Why would that mean it cannot happen a second time? Trumps reelection is a bit unstable because he would try to undo everything Biden has done in relation to the war of Russia and Ukraine. Most people might see that as "being in too deep" to turn around and walk back.

Elon has been tweeting nothing but idiocy, so I would not take his tweets seriously. Obviously not as a standard of measurement.

Did you know that candidates will need to have a debate right in front of the public to see how sane they are?

Once Joe gets up there, I don't think his secretary or his nurse could ever rescue him from being bombarded by what Trump could say. Just what Biden's administration did from Hunter's laptop, the border crisis, and the Russia-Ukraine war down to the debt crisis this time.
None may ever come to rescue him from mumbling all over the place telling stories of his hairy legs.
1610  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Educational Parade on: May 14, 2023, 08:11:49 PM
I'm not sure if I got the message correct. Did they mean that a gambler owns a great motorcycle for the first month and then later on after gambling for months he ended up with a rusty motorcycle?

It's amazing how a slot game Gates of Olympus had become very popular in that country which seems like a promotion indeed and may not really be effective when a particular game is presented to the public.
1611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 14, 2023, 07:47:16 PM
There is another controversial fight, it's Romero vs Ismael Barroso.

Romero was down in this fight, but he scored his own knock down against Barroso (debatable) in round 9th. But for whatever reasons, the referee, Tony Weeks suddenly stop the fight.

Barroso is leading on the 3 score cards prior to the stoppage.

Here is the video, even the announcer was stunned by what Tony Weeks did.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpXHeCD0w8U

The 9th round knockdown indeed was somehow considered but more like Romero dragged Barroso down. It's a very awkward fight to watch, Rolly always using his left hand to clinch. Tony Weeks is known for his fair judgment but this one made him look like he is paid a thousand more from Rolly. Stoppage made this sport a mess, Barroso was screwed.
1612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My experience with memorizing seed phrases on: May 14, 2023, 03:46:07 PM

Unfortunately, you may forget it especially if you are not rehearsing it every now and then. It is still safer for you to just keep a file in your safe drive in case you forget. You don't know when you gonna bump your head along the way home.

The only reason why I might just memorize a seed is probably if I cross the border and do not want the police to find a piece of paper in me. Memorizing the seed makes sense after all I am crossing a huge amount of money in BTC unlike having $10K which is really suspicious.
1613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio WBO 118lbs Title (May 13) on: May 14, 2023, 03:16:21 PM

Definitely. It doesn't look like Maloney is a winner inside the ring. He just keeps ducking and throwing fewer punches. While Astro keeps the center and pushes Maloney to the corner every time. Yet the majority decided he is the winner. Heck is wrong with these judges.

I didn't bet nor watch it live. Though this is a belt fight, Astro is not a popular fighter, which I guess only a few may have bet.  I watched it on youtube though. Seem a boring fight but sure to me Astro is the winner.
1614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help with stuck txid on: May 13, 2023, 09:17:11 PM

How long do you think he has to wait before his transaction goes through without having to pay a miner to pick his tx to accelerate?  Would it take a week?

Because the miners have the option to pick the transactions with higher priority fees, they will only pick those transactions after all it's more profitable. If it takes a week because all miners skipped his transaction, it really is discouraging.
1615  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your most effective crypto trading strategies? on: May 13, 2023, 08:58:57 PM
All you need is to identify which price is the lowest and the possible peak price in order to trade. Most of the time in order to pinpoint is to learn what support and resistance. Because this is usually where the bottom price is, resistance could become a support in the future.

This is literally buying low and selling high strategy. You know when they say it's easier said than done? It's somehow easy when you know there is a bull market so the solution is just to trade during the bull market. Using RSI and then identify the oversold and overbought lines of the price and the support and resistance. But make sure to stop when the bear market also begins.

1616  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges X Canada on: May 13, 2023, 08:25:23 PM

Yep, Binance just drop the news about going out of Canada. It was about the stablecoin where the regulations require exchanges' approval from Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) in order to operate and allow users to trade stablecoins.

For them, I guess necessary to avoid FTX all over again. But I think it's more likely they are cracking down first and then ironing out the regulation before allowing those exchanges back to operate again.
1617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 13) on: May 13, 2023, 08:12:19 PM

Surprisingly Nghitumbwa lasted til the end of the fight. I find the referee wanting Nghitumbwa to go on fight right away without counting up to 8 when he was knockdown. Luckily Nghitumbwa survived the pounding.

But it's true it's not what people here expect to see a KO end in the early rounds. Nghitumbwa obviously has a bigger physique. Despite Casimero keeps targeting his gas tank, he stands the test. He didn't give an easy fight win for Casimero.
1618  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Gary, tell us what is Ethereum? on: May 13, 2023, 07:23:30 PM
I don't think anything will happen on March 13th.
Unlike competitors who are closing business in the US, the Coinbase exchange is doing great. It is a fact.
If the Coinbase exchange is sued, then this is a different situation, but for now, the SEC has rid Coinbase of competitors in the USA

/tinfoil hat on/ Could it be that it's all just a show to kill off competition and make sure that no foreign entity (especially Binance) gets any significant share of the crypto market?

Coinbase is also active in expanding its overseas operations, the question is whether they do that just to grow, or as a hedge against a potential heavy crypto crackdown in the US.

And I wouldn't say they're doing that great. In the first quarter of 2023, they recorded an operating loss of £124m and a net loss of $79m. Unless we look at their (non-statutory) adjusted EBITDA, which is looking pretty good: +$284m Vs. +$20m (first quarter of 2022).

I recently found this information. The SEC has been interpreting the law to their advantage for many years. Let's see what happens with this petition.

https://in.investing.com/news/cci-files-an-amicus-brief-on-sec-seeking-response-to-coinbases-petition-3641431
"Though receiving five rulemaking petitions from Coinbase over the past 5 years, SEC ignored responding for their Securities and Exchange Act clarity. So far, there is no proper approach initiation to rulemaking policies from SEC. By withholding the petition, SEC thwarts the regulation-by-enforcement actions awarding judicial review.

Seeking Clarity From SEC

Since the SEC lacks regulatory clarity, several U.S.-based organizations might shift their jurisdictions with the clarified frameworks to other countries possibly. Meanwhile, the countries like European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) work towards the active participation of technical leadership seeking foster innovation and safeguard market participants. To mention, the EU has cleared the ‘Markets in Crypto Act’ recently. "

It's Coinbase that is catching up with Binance actually. It's not about the competition that coinbase plans to go offshore, it's the regulatory clarity.

Crypto businesses in the continent are really not going anywhere with such regulation, it's not just them that making it hell as Binance is also moving out of Canada because of the ridiculous regulations they've come up with. Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) prohibits exchanges from owning stablecoin without approval. https://www.coindesk.com/business/2023/05/12/binance-announces-exit-from-canada-citing-regulatory-tensions/

1619  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear Market Reaches $27605 - Will the Downtrend Continue?" on: May 13, 2023, 06:26:22 PM
Why are you panicking with these small drops? Aren’t you aware what are Bitcoins capable of? Bitcoins have risen from nothing to a valuable asset. If you still question on Bitcoin’s capabilities, then you don’t have the rights to be a Bitcoin investor. I mean took this downtrend as an opportunity, and try to buy as many coins as you can now. Hold the coins, till the demand among the members to buy Bitcoins increases, and hence sell the coins and make profits. Easy as that.

Perhaps he thinks that the price can go parabolic or continue with it rise to $30k or even higher. However, we all know how volatile the market is, and it's hard to really predict where the market is going to be even though we uses technical analysis.

So now we already at $26,800. It is time to panic? I don't think so, we still have the next big support at $25k. On the other hand, this kind of drops could be good for us in the long run. I mean when there is a correction, it's going to be healthy as there could be more investors that can enter at this price or this is a good entry level for them.
While the investors that have recently come to this market and invested in it are probably nervous due to the current drop we are seeing, at the same time this is an invaluable opportunity, it seems unlikely to me that we are going to reach a price below 25k, so the current price allows us to buy bitcoin at what it is close to the lowest price we can reach during May, also when we think about it the next bull run of bitcoin will probably push the price above 100k so the current drop is not significant on the big scheme of things.

We did hit $25840 for a brief moment, it's the lowest so far and the market may retest that lowest support line next week. It could be the last attempt before going up again. It's possible so prepare for it. What a trader should do I think is just avoid being liquidated in betting a bull in the futures market.

News to blame was said to be the debt ceiling crisis that is to be decided by officials. Markets going to be crazy.
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Civil War on: May 13, 2023, 07:49:11 AM
While I can agree there should have no forking. And not forcing the dev to do something then we all might just have to create NFTs on the blockchain and just don't mind the transactions to be confirmed for days.

I have to bring up that this will obviously hurt the network and less useful as well which I do think the dev team can come up with something. Otherwise the government learns how vulnerable BTC and the network with just this simple issue.
