701  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to sell? on: September 14, 2023, 05:08:01 AM

There are indicators in chart to identify we are at the peak like the RSI. Its somehow can decieve chart readers though but obviously when it touches 70, its already a good time to sell.

It could go up more than the selling price you set but eventually the market will come down making your decision to be right still. Generally, as long as you profit, there is no bad decision.
702  Economy / Economics / Re: If the global economy collapses what's the first thing you do? on: September 14, 2023, 04:57:24 AM
Sell all the coins I have in the exchanges, thats what I would do and then hold cash.
But the coins in my wallet stays. If we are just aware what the government will do I think we can decide what exactly to do with our coins.

Because if there ever a chance that government will ban and confiscate our BTC like how they siezed gold from their citizen back in 1930 collapse, we'll be able to save ourselfs from the troubles. Give them coins I own but still have saved the fiat I have.
703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your take on Mt. Gox refund ? on: September 14, 2023, 04:48:02 AM
If you knew the amount of times that the refunds were delayed you would be skeptical that they would actually pay out next month.

This hack was almost a decade ago and people are still waiting for their bitcoins. So who knows when they will actually get it. Going to be some technical issue and it’ll get delayed again.

Its why I don't believe it will be refunded. If its hacked then it could be confiscated by the government instead and the only reason why they will try decieving people that it will be claimed is for them to ask KYC from those OGs.

Too paranoid you might say but then fact is that its claimed to be hacked and MtGox are gone. Coins that are hacked are lost coins.
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: September 14, 2023, 04:34:36 AM
~snip~

I agree with the last few words you said that parents must supervise every activity their children do to avoid this bad situation because gambling is currently growing very fast and advertisements everywhere are related to gambling so this supervision is very important and be alert if the child's behavior is a bit different.
That's correct actually and it's really important for parents to always monitor their kids to prevent them from developing addictions or getting involved in suspicious activities that aren't suitable for their young age. Keeping kids under control is essential as it will benefit them in exploring the world of gambling when they are older and understand what they should and should not do.

Might as well discourage them first and give them another options that are much useful to them like something that will help them in figuring out their passion that could lead them to an additional income, you know helpful things that involves a bright tomorrow because we know that they are still relatively young to know and think about gambling.

Kids who are not yet earning their own money, shouldn't have a right to spend it the way they want it. When parents give money to their kids, its always intended for something like lunch money and not for gambling. Thats what they should understand at such young age. Spending it besides his lunch is like a violation.

Anyway, we can't dictate what other kids will do though but the norms back then is very different today especially with the woke ones.

705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: General Sports News - All Sports on: September 14, 2023, 04:24:58 AM

I also don't see what to come up here. Most threads discusses betting in sports but if you are just posts news, not even related to upcoming matches to bet on its just not going to help.

Every sports already has a thread here. I think will make more sense if you update those threads particularly and maybe they can figure what to do with the info you got.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 13, 2023, 05:14:31 PM

Mike has to teach Francis how to get closer to find the range, Mike is smart enough to have done this against his opponents. If Francis can't get close, he will never get an opportunity to land a punch.

It doesn't look like they are very much into thrashing. Francis pointing at the bod looks like a good meme. We're going to see a lot of memes after the fight and it wouldn't even matter for Francis if he loses the fight since it's already expected against the pro but it would be a hilarious meme if Fury loses though.

I believe that it is their plan, Ngannou cannot make any difference if he will stay beyond Fury's reach because that will also mean that he will have a hard time reaching the latter. It's much better for them to have a confrontation in the guise of a toe-to-toe fight because they got more chances that way, but it's a challenge though if Ngannou can survive it because his stamina will be a problem as he is not built to be a boxer who can last up to 12 rounds while giving and receiving deadly blows.

In the 5th round, Francis would be a flatliner. He needs the fight to end quickly in less than 5 rounds or he'll be the one on the ground lying. Francis is still slow which would be the kind of worrying if you are to bet on him. I saw his training with Mike on YouTube, he is not as quick still especially with a boxing glove.

If he is to win the fight, I think the strategy is to just body shots at Fury. It's an easier target than the head but he also has to be cautious of the counter. As much as I want Francis to win, its not gonna be a park walk.
707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Franklin Templeton files for a spot Bitcoin ETF on: September 13, 2023, 07:13:34 AM
The prices is reacting in the opposite direction though. I can only think they are trying to make announcement like this be heard by the regular people to invest while these institutions are pulling the prices down.

The only thing that changed was that Grayscale won the case and although GBTC wasn't yet converted to ETF, they may be the first along with Blackrock ETF whenever SEC approves ETF.
708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Features on any Banking or Financial apps should be Removed on: September 13, 2023, 06:55:19 AM
I noticed something lately. Although it has been there for a long while but the time I have spent on this board is making me see things. I do not know if this is how it is in other parts of the world but I noticed that in my banking app, there a betting feature where the user can place a bet on any match directly from the app.

I can boldly say that the image on your post is a screenshot from Opay homepage. In as far as the image you posted is accurate and has the betting icon on it just like the rest of the banks, the content of your thread is very misleading. Opay as a fin tech institution is operating just like other established commercial banks in the country and it's among the best mobile banking app when we talk about fast transaction and less fee. It's important to note that the betting icon on the mobile app will never allow you to place bet directly on any match as you said in your post. It only allows you to fund your bet account and to make your wallet funding easier without card. There's also a limit as to which betting platforms you can be able to fund using the app.

Majority of bank apps have this feature so as to aid bet wallet funding as the number of gamblers keep increasing on a daily basis. Banks are out there for business and they can do whatever to keep the business running. You can ignore if you're not interested in using the feature to fund your wallet. Unless every features that allows us to pay online bills is removed, betting feature can not be removed. If everything is now removed, then we can use the app for just sending and receiving of money only.

Which it isn't actually making users to directly bet. But somehow they allow users to send funds for the betting account. Seem so different but still the same effect.

And like you said, anyone with that Opay app will eventually find out of that option when they navigate around the app. I think this is really part of the freedom we want which we wanted to do just about anything without funds including the betting platforms.

709  Economy / Economics / Re: G20 Presidency [Summit] on: September 13, 2023, 05:46:46 AM

G20 was meant to be for economic cooperation but when agenda of leaders gets to accumulate leaders taking sides in a conflict, the G20 became a group that will isolate a country as punishment. And it happened already because the system is rigged.

Rich countries with more oil to sell realized it. Too bad China also didn't attend. Sure they reasons and they were just expecting the worst that could happen if ever they attend. If they just adopt BTC, they may really stop that rigged games they play.
710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: September 13, 2023, 05:25:34 AM
The best way would be not starting gambling at all, it would prevent you from getting that rush and you will not be seeking for it. I have seen people who did bungee jumping to get some rush in order to forget about gambling and that's the type of adrenaline that gets pumped to you when you are gambling. Obviously it is not going to be similar in all cases but you should be careful about it no matter what

I know that it is not going to be that easy but you are going to end up with a good result if you could also learn to limit your deposits as well which is what I do, it allows you to limit your losses no matter what and the lower amount of money that you lose is something good for you on the long term as well.

Thats gotta be one of the wierd idea we can read about getting rid of gambling addiction. As much as I would like to try bungee jumping I'm still very frightened to the idea of trusting a guy who would tie my ropes. Its more of a gambling with my life.

I would rather replace my addiction with another addiction somewhat less damaging like egames addiction.
But there are safer ways to stop addiction, its slower however and sometimes the battle of the addict within self is tougher than we can handle. Rehab.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: September 13, 2023, 04:42:36 AM
I spoke to my nephew and he told me that he has never stolen from his mother to gamble. And he gambles with only his savings from his weekly stipend he receives from the family. And he won't gamble if he has no savings to do that. From my observation, he is a responsible gambler that is just enjoying the game and making a little money occasionally. The gambling age in my country is 18+, but his mother is insisting that he must stop. What will be your advice for this young boy?
Your nephew's mom should be able to have an opened and honest conversation with her son. It should be a heart to heart conversation where the son his sincere about his gambling and the mother is opened about her expectations from him.

Sons always loves and listens to their mother. This is the time for her to be very involved. If she is able to create a space where he can freely talk about anything with her then she has nothing to worry about because right there she has proven to him that he can turn to her for support in case he begins to struggle with gambling.
It is true that mothers are more close to their sons but when it comes to habitual matters like games and gambling it becomes different. My sons rarely listen to their mother when she says they should stop playing with their cellphones late at night. I think the era of young people today is very different than my era and that should be considered in how we will have a discussion with our sons.
I like that the nephew is saving money for his own habit and I think what should be done is to make him calculate how much he is losing and how much he could've saved if only he didn't risk it to gambling. That way he will have an idea about the financial things and maybe tell him what he could've bought with all that money if only he had not spent it on gambling.
That kind of thinking actually opened my eyes to not taking high-risk gamble but that is only for zero returns like gambling, it's different when it comes to investing.

For now the kid will not listen yet to an advice from people with experience. He may have some money he saved for his gambling but those cash still comes from his parents. He still has lots of things to experience before his enlightenment.

A person sometimes need to lose and hit the rock bottom to realize he had done it wrong. Thats when the time he gets to listen for others opinion and options.

712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: September 13, 2023, 04:22:30 AM

Its still very possible that casinos will start using AI to,play with poker players. We may never know, technology is just developing so fast that its possible human skills are not going to work against an AI.

And then for the love of the game, you intend to only play on physical casino only to discover human-like-AI is dealing the cards in Vegas. Not too farfetch I think.
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approac? on: September 12, 2023, 07:52:00 PM

Small capital as I don't have a stash of coins. You only have two options though when there should be more. Small-time gamblers are often just betting small amounts but could accumulate wins which is what I prefer to do.

If I try small capital to win big, it would be the sports parlay but I have never won any of it since the time I have been doing it. I stopped because it was much like a state-owned lottery. The chances of winning is like 1 in 500M.
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: September 12, 2023, 07:41:33 PM
I kind of have to agree with him, because the gambling advertisements on television is becoming more and more like a spam attempt. The casinos advertisements are being shown over and over again.... and it is annoying AF.  Angry

I think they should rather "limit" gambling related advertisements and not implement a blanket ban on them, because that will simply be unfair towards the gambling industry.

The spamming of gambling advertisements can have the opposite affect, if people see it too much, because that can irritate them.  Roll Eyes

There are some gambling apps that are targeting users from country using celebrities.
They know that people blindly follow celebs and so they are hiring more celebs to promote their gambling apps.
All of these celebs are endorsing these gambling apps by saying that we can make easy money in it within minutes.
We all know that is not true and in fact we lose our money and this is the reason why I hate these gambling ads.
They portray that people win money but the opposite happens instead.
I understand your concerns but as long as there are some people out there that win some money during their session then we cannot say they are really lying, which is why authorities cannot go against this type of advertising that does not lie directly but that lies by omission, because even if there are winning gamblers out there we must remember they are a minority and most of us which gamble for entertainment purposes lose money instead of earning it.

Authorities must have thought it was okay already to advertise casinos and gambling-related ads on TV after all, the majority of people today don't watch TV news anymore but see it online and on youtube channels. If I have to choose I think I will just accept casino advertising on TV but not on social media like facebook or X.

Society always has problems with what to present to the people but everything being available online will have a greater effect if social media allows casino ads because even kids will be exposed to gambling.
715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Preparations for BTC Halving and bull market on: September 12, 2023, 04:23:24 PM

There is still a chance of BTC dropping and most probably the whales are also waiting for it. The last attempt for the bears who are betting on the futures market that keeps dragging the price down.

Halving is coming that's right. It is however not trying to climb as expected and the price might likely go up after a few months of halving. It's too different from what it was in the previous bull market and the indicators are still pointing down.
716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 12, 2023, 03:49:23 PM
Ngannou doesn't do trashtalk. It could be because of language but he doesn't do that either even to his MMA fights. Him noticing the belly could be interpreted differently but seems more like a joke.

But looking at it from a boxer's perspective, Fury is becoming fat and that belly is a belly of an obese fat. And Fury also wants to fight Jon Jones. Yep, this is going to turn into a bigger circus. They discover how easy it is to make money with crossover fights like how the Pauls did it.
717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 12, 2023, 03:08:48 PM
I don't like the behavior of gamblers when they loss everything then they initiate taking loan from others. Gambling should be avoided but if it hard for someone then he should avoid taking loan and whenever his pocket become empty he should focus on earning from another source rather than taking Loans.

In such case they loss their jobs and their homes because if they continuously taking loans and don't return it then after sometime people stop allowing them loan therefore they try to sell the things in order to continue theirs wishes.

Unfortunately, it's not up to us. telling them what to do with their money can somewhat be seen as encroaching on their private life.

But few of the gamblers in this forum actually are taking some loans, I couldn't be sure if they gamble the borrowed amount to win and then pay the debt. It's quite a huge risk for me but if they indeed gamble the amount, I would be looking in awe yet will pay respect once he wins. Not everyone has that kind of ballsiness.
718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 12, 2023, 02:25:36 PM

I think if DDP accepted the offer, he would've won because if there was a good time to beat Adesanya, it was that night.  He was slower, kinda like he wasn't himself...  :/

Adesanya got used to a lot of support from the crowd but this time he was booed and probably lost the drive to win. Didn't even make any other attempt to land a significant hit to Strickland. DDP will likely not want to fight this version of Izzy.

While Strickland is getting much support also. You'd probably begin to like him after he fixes the broken UFC belt. https://www.instagram.com/p/CxEl_aLJ5N7/ I do like him now. And look at all his guns hanging on the wall  Grin
719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Manage Your Adrenaline Rush In Gambling? on: September 12, 2023, 02:58:15 AM
Does energy drink contributes to have high adrenaline? I thought its only for those who are in extreme sports like jumping cliffs.

Adrenaline is too high that I don't sometimes realized I rushing things. Its why I stopped betting on casino games because whenever I'm about to lose the coins I deposited, I've already doubled down to max bet and then crossing my fingers for the last bet. Sometimes it work but mostly don't. Stopping myself from playing those dice and slot helped me managed the adrenaline and at the same time lose money.
720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 11, 2023, 08:22:33 PM
I find it very interesting that Sean Strickland won the game at defensive and boxing distance. Izzy could have disrupted his distance with her kicks, she remained calm in most places and did not hit. In the first rounds of the match, while Sean Strickland had 20 head punch at one point, Izyy only had one and he was kicking, which seemed a little pointless to me. It could have turned out like this because he underestimated his opponent. Izzy did not have such an enthusiastic match. First, he arranges a rematch with Strickland and Dana White, and then the Perreria trilogy begins.

Izzy Vs Sean was like a duel between an artist and a craftsman. Artists would perform better but only when they are in 'the zone', craftsmen would never be spectacular, but will deliver a solid performance even on their bad day.
It just wasn't a good day for Izzy, he either missed something in his mental preparation, or that blow in the 1st round had much greater effect that we might realise. He looked like he was solely focussed on surviving.
Voices on the internet are mostly against an immediate rematch. Sure, Izzy deserves it simply because of all his past achievements, but that's not necessarily fair to all the other guys in the middleweight, who want their shot at the title as well. Sportwise, Du Plessis is more deserving to fight Strickland next.

Dana is just doing the drama like he really wanted to quick rematch. But I think he wants Izzy to move up already for more saleable fights for him and leave the MW. Removing the gatekeeper will allow new faces in the division. Dana probably will introduce again Khamzat in the MW against Costa which had been the most anticipated fight for months.

And Pereira will finally get his rematch with Izzy. It's an unfinished business which is more exciting to fans, fans really need to find out who gets 2:1
