641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Talking about big wins on Dice on: September 23, 2023, 05:51:29 PM

Nice. Under 100 bets and you got lucky. Just a little wait for the bull market and the price of Clam to go more than $20 again, you will be like winning a lottery. Dice is actually one of the hardest to win imo, I have not won something big out of dice, it's always because the method is martingale that's why I won. The losing streak always dries my capital though.

Can you tell us the multiplier details?  I would probably try it your way just to accumulate some altcoins that I got from staking.

Gensler already said he won't honor court decisions in the guise of protecting the investing public. So the SEC may still not approve it.  He deliberately makes things difficult for all crypto companies. Even if he was reminded that companies are moving out of their country due to the regulations.

First time I can actually see clearly his face in this video. I can only imagine the face of this guy when he was a kid. He must have been bullied every now and then.  Grin
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Satoshi have known? on: September 23, 2023, 03:12:46 PM

The timing of the BTC launch means he knows how the money works and knows economics. I think he already sees the future of what could happen to BTC and to the fiat system that's crumbling.

So he knows BTC will have a higher value which means people will also be investing and selling. And he designed BTC to have halving where there will be scarcity in the long run. He may even know there will be a flood of altcoins because blockchain was released as opensource.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: September 23, 2023, 10:42:19 AM
A lot of people aim to make money - hence following people's bets has even become a business where people sell betting tips on sports. On a side note - I agree with you on the point of gambling the amount that would brighten your day and not cause a sharp pain upon loss. That to me is what I would define as "recreational" gambling.
I saw them selling, but never saw someone's buying. Did you? Or, maybe you bought a sports betting tip yourself once? How it went? And yes, I'm all for the recreational gambling. You can turn your a job into fun, but don't turn fun into job.

Anyway, fearing of sharing your bets with others is weird indeed. It has something to do with superstitions, I think.
It's obviously a superstition that a lot of people have. They believe that they will lose a certain bet if they share it with someone else who is unlucky, and when they don't share their bets, they manage to win. It might have happened once or twice in their life coincidentally and now they think that it is actually something. Some people have utterly foolish superstitions about gambling and you start getting annoyed when you see or hear about them.

A lot of people believe that they win in gambling during a certain hour within the day and they also believe that this certain hour works better on a specific day within the week, and I find that stupid because your luck doesn't have a time and gambling is completely based on one's luck.

Lots of sports gamblers share their picks and discuss why one team will win and the other will lose. ?Just look at the sports threads in the forum, like the UFC prediction where they share screenshots of their bets. I help a bettor decide which to put their money on.

I think it's true that basketball players themselves also have some belief that they bring their luck charms while playing the game and win. It gives them the motivation or at least they believe they'll win when they have those jewelry with them.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling game is not good and everyone should stay away from it on: September 23, 2023, 10:02:32 AM

So Bitcoin is the light at the end of the tunnel. It's not surprising, many of us are hoping to see the light after this long bear market. I hope you got a ton for your stash this coming bull run.  Break the chain and stay away from gambling then.

It's not mandatory to actually get involved in casinos when you are into investing in BTC or joining this forum. There is certainly more to that in the trading section of this forum, you will learn what others do for a strategy.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 23, 2023, 09:30:18 AM
What does everybody think about Paddy vs Ferguson in Las Vegas for UFC 296? It seems to me like they’re trying to give Paddy a big name that he can actually beat given that I thought Ferguson already retired. I still think Ferguson will win though. Paddy didn’t look good in his last match and Ferguson is no easy victory.

To be honest I didn't have a clue that fight was on the UFC296 card. Yup, definitely looks like they're trying to revive Paddy after he fell from fans' favour. His last performance was disappointing and his attack on Ariel Helwani created an impression that he sucks up to Dana White big time, which is never a good look.
Image-wise, it seems like Paddy can't decide whether he wants to be a good guy or a bad guy, which can be irritating to many.
As for Tony, he refused to acknowledge that it's time to retire and he'll approach that fight with something to prove, which will make him a dangerous opponent.
As both of them had a dip in the form, it'll be interesting to see who comes at the top. I like this match up.

It was just announced very recently. UFC is still building Paddy when the kid has been around for years. He has 6 times winning streak but he is fighting the old Tony. I wish Tony would win over him, Tony still has the chin to survive strikes, if they go toe to toe, Tony might have a 50/50 chance to win. Paddy has no precise striking capability but if he goes grappling and takedown Tony, he will submit the old man.

Win or lose Tony should retire. But I think he still has a few fights on his contract.

647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 22, 2023, 08:48:24 PM

Maybe this also applies to the thread Keeping your gambling habit a secret.

Making it a secret to your kid also extends to your wife. For even your wife will think it's fine to spend the money you gave on gambling after all you are gambling.

It's best to have privacy at least to your kid even if your wife knew about it already. So you might as well tell your wife not to say a word about it in front of your kids.
648  Economy / Economics / Re: If They Can Pay off their Debts, Why Don't They? on: September 22, 2023, 08:25:01 PM
Below is a list of 10 Countries With the Biggest Debt Burdens1

1. Japan $10.1 trillion
2. Greece $415.35 billion
3. Italy $2.94 trillion
4. United States $36.8 trillion
5. Spain $1.74 trillion
6. France $3.478 trillion
7. Portugal $305.45 billion
8. Canada $2.52 trillion
9. Brazil
10. Belgium $640.3 billion

I am not an economist so my question would be directed to those who understand economics and government administration. If a country is capable of paying off her debts, why don't they? Obviously , these developed countries I believe are capable of offsetting their debts because they even render aids to other developing nations.
Secondly, are there any benefits, economic or otherwise of a country being in debt?

Why would they? Many people make it their dream in life to borrow as much money as possible without having to pay it back and face any consequences, which is effectively what these countries are doing. They are walking the tightrope act of borrowing money while still being able to pay interest payments on those demands, which effectively allows them to get much richer and if they were to use that borrowed money effectively it could be extremely advantageous to them (but they rarely do). Take Greece for example, a lot of credit was extended to them but they are a fairly small economy that is largely dependent on tourism, most of the populace live a relatively easy life and aim to keep it that way, which is part of what caused the Eurozone crisis a while back when they were inclined to default on that debt and undermine the Euro in return.

Seem a good reason not to pay after all even the countries with bigger economy is not even paying their own. The rest of the world is doing the same so why can't they do it too?
It's easy if their currency is the reserve currency though just like the US. But even the US does have a huge debt as well which to this day the FED is trying to solve in order to have a soft landing.

Governments can do what they want and Not paying is among them. They won't pay.
That's just it and most of the time, they tell to their citizen that each of them has a share of debt to pay.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is nsa behind the creation of bitcoin? on: September 22, 2023, 07:48:26 PM
Historically many American cryptographers worked for the NSA, of course they are not going to disclose it. Maybe a group of them did create Bitcoin. Does it matter? Not in the least, because its Free Open Source Software. The NSA made SELinux in a hope to better secure assets from other agencies, and yet anyone can benefit from that project.

Replacing the US Dollar may be harder to justify for a State entity, but its true that people working there have the passion for it. I wouldn't be surprised, nor care if it was a direct project, or indirect project. Didn't we have Tor from the US Navy? Who else used Tor?, yeah, Satoshi connecting to this forum of his... Same story, FOSS use it if it benefits, check the code if you are paranoid of backdoors.

TL;DR: Who cares. Good for them if they did.

It does matter as to who owns the more than a million coins owned by Satoshi. Whoever is the richest matters especially now that BTC is becoming more accepted even by the countries that don't normally accept it.

BTC will not be created by someone/group who will not benefit from it as well. And if it's created by NSA cryptographers then BTC's existence didn't just happen in a vacuum.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 22, 2023, 07:11:45 PM
-snip-

That's a decent main event imho.  And Fiziev is one of my favorite guys in the roster since he beat Marc Diakesse as the underdog a couple of years ago but man...  Going against Gamrot for 5 rounds could be a tall order.  Fiziev wil prolly look good at the first couple of rounds of the match.  But as the match progresses into the championship rounds, he has a tendency of slowing down.  That's where Gamrot could take over and wear on him.  Gamrot is very durable and a very good wrestler.  If more action goes to Fiziev, Gamrot's like could improve to 2.50. which is good imo.

Going into the latest event in the UFC, I really like Mateusz Gamrot for he is much better rounded than Rafael Fiziev in my opinion sure Rafael Fiziev is much younger than Mateusz Gamrot, but Gamrot is more technical and has great wrestling but if Fiziev has proven that he got great takedown defense he will likely get a chance for this fight but for sure Mateusz Gamrot has a lot of arsenal in getting this fight done,

Yay! Finally a really exciting fight, almost guaranteed not to be boring. I'm heavily biased on this one as Gamrot is my compatriot and I like his character, but I think, objectively, he has what it takes to defeat Fiziev. Gamrot likes fighting in Las Vegas, he fought and won 5 times there, his wrestling is obviously superior to Fiziev's and he's experienced enough to withstand the pressure.
It's an important fight for both of them, winning this one will open the door to fight guys from the top 5, meaning big money fights.

Just like you, I am very into Mateusz Gamrot for sure he will be very dominant in this fight because of his many arsenals that could take out Fiziev I think he can eventually get this win, I am pretty much hyped for Gamrot on this one, as Gamrot had a hard time against Justin Gaethje because Gaethje was technical in all approached that he makes against Rafael Fiziev,

Gamrot will not see himself on top of Fiziev. The TD defense of Fiziev is just superb so it will be a standing fight which Gamrot will not be able to make.

If he has to win, he has to keep chasing takedowns and grappling to wear out Fiziev til the 3rd round which he probably can have success after that. He will not last if he forces himself into a standing fight. But Fiziev did have fights that lasted til UD, he can last up to 5th rounds. I'd still go for Fiziev by KO.

651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is nsa behind the creation of bitcoin? on: September 22, 2023, 10:51:17 AM
No real proof though. But it's possible that all these lawsuits and regulation meeting is just a play.
The monetary system in the US knows that decades later, economic collapse will happen and the 2008 crash was just the beginning. BTC becoming a global reserve will be acceptable soon while they are not up to go back to the gold standard. Blackrock adopting BTC is just the start of it while SEC is just trolling.

On the other pole, China and their BRICS are going back to Gold.
652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When Gamblers Fail to Read a Casino's Terms and Conditions on: September 22, 2023, 10:37:13 AM

Not reading terms and conditions seems normal to me. If you understand the terms and conditions of one casino, you understand them all. But there are just other casinos that have something else on them and some of them change a bit of it after some time. If the casino acts differently from the other, it becomes an issue when the casino refers the violation to their T&C.

But if they obviously use the T&C to scam users, that's a different story. They gotta be careful with that or else when the word is out and proven the casino scammed users, it's going to ruin a reputation no matter how little the amount.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 22, 2023, 09:45:35 AM
I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.

Children are innocent souls who tend to imitate their parents. They have a curious mind, the main reason they ask questions all the time. If your child sees you gambling or anything illegal for her age accidentally, they won't ask any questions. If that is not the case then what happened to you would happen to every parent. What you did was the right thing to answer her question and inform her about the legal age. In the future when she reaches her legal age she can make the decision.

My recommendation to you is to stop gambling when she is around in the house. Since it is her growing years it is better to indulge with her in other activities when she is in the house. It would create an impression that her father is no longer active in gambling or has stopped gambling. It will help her to concentrate on her studies and daily activities rather than thinking about it.

It may stick to her mind for a while. She may forget it after a few days or weeks but the moment she sees a card, she will be reminded of it. But then anyway, she will learn about it maybe in her teen years.

A father will always remind their children not to do casino stuff but kids find their way to it when they grow older. It's best they know there is legal age for it and consequences when playing while not of legal age.

654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the drive that makes women go into gambling? on: September 22, 2023, 09:08:17 AM
That is definitely a good idea. I mean a woman could have trouble in a casino filled with drunk man. Maybe some man could argue against it, I mean red pill mafia has grown way more than ever in history, so it is not going to end up with a lot of trouble, but if we are talking about a situation where we need to be realistic, if I was a woman I wouldn't want to be in a place filled with drunk men all around me.

There is absolutely no guarantee of safety in that situation, you just go with trust and hope nothing bad happens, or you could just gamble online and do not have to put yourself at that risk at all, there is 0% chance of anything going wrong there, well except you are going to lose your money either way lol.
Well, if that's the case, it's best for women not to go too often to offline casinos and prefer to gamble at online casinos because they get a guarantee of security. This means they don't have to meet drunk men who lose at gambling and who can abuse women at will. And if I am a woman, I also don't want to be in such a situation and prefer not to visit offline casinos.

But I'm sure that in the bigger casinos, the casinos wouldn't tolerate men getting drunk and not being able to control themselves. The drunken men must have been told to leave the casino because they would disturb the other gamblers. Casinos will do something about people who want to cause riots on their business premises. So if the casino is comfortable, women will still want to visit it to gamble or relax while watching people gamble.

They do have smoking areas and liquors are allowed in casinos. Maybe limited but I'm sure they allow drinking inside a casino and also they have club bouncers with huge biceps. But in today's era, cameras are everywhere. Somehow people feel safe when there are cameras in every corner.

Men don't go inside a casino just to drink though but women I think bring friends with them while they play slot.
Women are very social and they mingle with boys in the casino. They are not very social only to other girls sexier and more attractive than them.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 22, 2023, 08:40:51 AM
There's no problem with vacating the belts for Inoue. The ultimate goal is to win them all to add to his achievements and then fight some challengers before moving up. I'm sure Inoue still has the power and speed to dominate, so moving up at the right time could be one of his priorities once he holds all the belts. Of course, he needs to beat Tapales, who is obviously not as hyped as people are underestimating him.

Inoue does not intend to stay in the bantamweight division for long. So, if he wins this fight, he might just consider a few title defenses. I think one year is already enough to accommodate at least two challengers before he moves up. In fact, I still believe that once he moves up, he will remain the most feared opponent. Great job to Inoue for taking things slowly but consistently. He knows how to make his future plans work, and there's nothing to worry about.

Having more belts like Pacman must be the goal. He'd be more glorified than Pac If he achieved 9 belts in a different division and I think he will be able to make it.
For now, he can assure himself to dominate fighters but by the time he reaches welterweight, he may find himself getting slower and experience loss.

He got Fulton with no harm to himself, he will also KO Tapales easily. Since Tapales is no threat to him, the odds may be Inoue 1.25 vs. Tapales 3.10.
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zhang Vs Joyce II WBO Interim World Heavyweight Championship on: September 21, 2023, 05:15:55 PM

By the 1st round, we can already determine who will. If Zhang still wins this fight, he must deserve a title shot. How crazy would that sound that a Chinese HW becomes a champion in WBO? Only in this era.

I almost forgot this thread that I created on the Zhang - Joyce match yes, I agree with you most of the rematches just pick out where they left off in the first three rounds we can see if there's an improvement on Joyce and Zhang will still dominate the jabs, Zhang Jabs is very dominant on their first match I was in awe how that jabs went through Joyce faces.

Everyone was shocked by the outcome but more so in the first round when Zhang established his dominance.
Let's see if the first round will the like the first round of their first fight.

Could this fight turn out like Fury vs. Wilder? On paper, Joyce is the superior boxer, but the outcome of the first fight has added an element of unpredictability. With the odds now even, bettors who believe in Joyce's comeback have a good opportunity. A knockout is quite likely, which should also make the odds more enticing.

Joyce has the upper hand even in their first encounter. It was just Zhang's lucky day when the blood blocked his vision of Joyce causing him to receive more blows from Zhang.
If Joyce still loses for the 2nd time proving Zhang can damage, I sure will not know what excuse to say here. But still his bad luck day.

On records, Joyce has the KO power but I guess the experience counts as Zhang started his career way earlier than Joe.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 21, 2023, 04:55:21 PM
Nice!  I wonder how the books are gonna line Prochazka vs Pereira...  From what we've seen of Pereira at 205 vs Jan Błachowicz, it was dull, low volume and boring.  Prochazka is a dynamic striker, fast and more explosive.

Good question. I've no idea who would be favourite here. Pereira's last fight was dull indeed, but it was he's first fight at 205 and he was cautious not to get taken down. Against Prochazka it will be more of a striker Vs striker match, so should be more interesting (in theory at least). I'd probably go with Prochazka, but he's coming back from a pretty bad injury so who knows.

And I think we finally see Covington get the belt at 170.  Lol.

Now or never for Colby.

Anyway! I kinda change my mind for my pick in the main event in the Multi Master...  Gamrot could grind on Fiziev right from the start and tire him out.  He's kinda big for 155 and Fiziev kinda small.  :/

Gamrot looks sharp and is very confident in his interviews. He also finally got his eyes fixed. If he doesn't get KOed in the first 2 rounds, he'll win by decision.

Colby never ran out of title shots but he fails every time. Now with Edwards, he might fail again. He wasn't making progress though he won against Masvidal in his last fight, it wasn't a fight that you will remember being extraordinary. This might be Colby's last title fight and if he still can't get the belt, he'll go down the rank.  Belal should have been in his shoes to fight Edwards.

Between Gamrot and Fiziev, it's Fiziev who can make things happen.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting significant amount on: September 21, 2023, 03:05:53 PM
I always bet all-in which is my remaining bankroll that is significant amount for me on a 25% win chance rate bet on dice game. My heart palpitates during this bet and I really love the intense feeling. Most of the time I lose on this but it's really worth it if I win since I recover my original bankroll plus sweet profit of 20% of my bankroll.

You said that most of the time you lose this aggressive gameplay but you win few times and recover your losses. I want to ask what is your overall experience. Are you able to recover all your losses from the few wins or do you still remain in loss even after winning a significant betting amount?

The formula which you have told is mainly for those who have extra money and losing the money through aggressive betting does not matter then much. Most of the gamblers may take such a risk but if they lose, it really becomes hard for them to try this again and again.

His overall experience as said was about the thrills he felt with the last money. It would have been great if we win every time we go all in. He more likely didn't put all his hopes on his last bet but he felt intense and accepted fate whichever the result.

I also felt the same when I lost my $100 capital in a dice game and then when it's all just $10 left, I went all in bet the $10, rollover, and slid the multiplier to 90. This is to see if it's really a bad luck day.

It's amazing how bold a person can be when it comes to his gambling habit. I heard some stories like robbing Peter to pay Paul and it's unbelievable how common it is actually. Maybe these people think the city is too huge for them and that they can't be found if one loanshark looks for their money.

Just thinking about the consequences makes me wanna skip town. If these loanshark will just show up bringing their own doctor to take your kidneys out, it will be the end.

There can't be wrong in making crypto companies and users comply with transparency or anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism. Surely this is a good thing.
The only thing that made me feel good about what FCA director Pritchard said was that crypto goes from niche to mainstream.

Something tells me that it all goes to a dystopian end which is no different from Chinese CBDC. Any transactions moving out from a private BTC wallet will be traced and if it goes to a centralized platform, that's when it gets seized for questioning.
