801  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: August 30, 2023, 03:03:42 PM
-snip-
Rice prices here have even increased by around 9-10 percent in the last month in my area.
In which area do you live? As far as I know, the government has warehouses for basic food supplies, especially rice, spread across every city district and this functions to maintain a stable distribution of commodity needs. An increase of 10% is actually quite high, in my area it has been quite stable since the pandemic ended. Do farmers in your area only trade their products locally?
It is true, if this is implemented or carried out by the central government instructing regional governments, it may not increase until it reaches 10%. But now in reality this is also happening where I am, where the government has failed to make policies and there is no food warehouse to maintain the stability of basic food prices, so that when there is a shortage of food needs prices rise very high.

In addition, this price increase is of course due to the government's mistake in protecting the mafia collectors. Because they buy from farmers at low prices but they sell at high prices in the market, this is what the current government doesn't know what they want. This is what happened to farmers, their crops were bought at low prices by collectors, resulting in an imbalance of farmers with very expensive fertilizer prices, so rice farmers suffered huge losses.

And maybe there is no more capital for reinvestment, sad. If the government wants to eradicate high food prices one by one, it must improve the welfare of farmers by stabilizing the prices of farmers' production of rice, chilies, etc. which of course is followed by very expensive fertilizer so that it costs nothing. There needs to be a balance for farmers so that food prices will also be stable.

There can only be one thing that the government can do so they can easily take action without opposition blocking what they are about to do, Buy the farms of the farmers. If it's not profitable for farmers, the government will buy their farmland. It's been happening worldwide.

All prices of things that are for sale are running high so it's not surprising anymore. Gas prices have doubled since the pandemic. No country today is exempted from this crisis.
The wheat supply chain was blamed because of the Ukraine war and rice in Asia I think was also because India stopped exporting because they wanted food security.
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: August 30, 2023, 02:41:08 PM
That being “a regular guy” from Bo Nickal might cause his path to a title foght be longer than usually. UFC dont like calm, shy, regular and not interesting fighters. I agree that before becoming a champ, Adesanya was completely different. When he bacame champ, he became more cautious, he risks less. I think with his trash talk he tries to compensate boring part of his fights.

Nono, it's different from calm and shy with no personality.  With Bo Nickal, he's a breath of fresh air from the UFC...  Calm, calculated but still exuding with charisma like Nickal.  And away from the McGregor kind of personas, which was fun, but the McGregor persona many fighters are emulating is getting kinda old now.  I mean look where McGregor is today.  Lmao.  He may be rich, but he sucks now.  Khabib turned out to be the better guy with a better legacy.

Anyway, yeah...  Bo Nickal is the kind of guy you want to watch interviews and press conferences because he's just being himself.

UFC Free Fight:  Fiorot vs Ricci
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4xYlEAdHUs

I once read it somewhere that Khabib took Connor's soul and smash it into the pile of shit. Can't remember where but the man must have been the butthurt for a long time.

Nickal is a new face in the UFC but I think he hasn't fought someone by the likes of Khamzat yet he named Khamzat in an interview when Nickal won against Woodburn. But I suppose it's too cruel to kill his career this early, Dana has to make money yet.

Pereira's rival in kickboxing is coming in UFC as well. This is beside Adesanya, his name is Yousri Belgaroui. https://twitter.com/AlexPereiraUFC/status/1679319907484172291

803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Constant wins in the casino for several days, then constant losses. Noticed?! on: August 30, 2023, 02:17:33 PM
You can stop playing once you see you are winning and then the losing streak starts. You wanna stop while you are in profit that's how you win. Apparently, you will have no idea when that losing streak going to dry up your funds but it will happen when you don't expect it.

One thing is for certain, you wanna stop when you are in profit. Otherwise, you will lose. The game you chose luck games so stop while luck is on your side because once it flew, it goes away.
804  Economy / Economics / Re: Having a problem a Personal Finance? on: August 30, 2023, 04:58:27 AM
       -   You, yes, you. Are you tired? Can't make progress? Or every time you move forward, something bad always happens? Are you in a situation where you have to start from scratch again? Where does your problem start? in money? Why do you always have no money? Is it because of your responsibilities for your family or because you just don't have spending discipline? It is important that you know what the root of your problem is? Maybe the reason you are not making progress is because you spend a lot, so every time you have an emergency, you move your savings? Or sometimes you can borrow a cape. How to handle money What is real personal finance? What do you have to do to learn it? There are some things that can help you in this matter, and some of them are:

[a.] Read books related to personal finance.

[b.] Always hang out here on the Bitcointalk forum; you can see and learn a lot from this platform.

[c.] Watch videos that can give you inspiration to become better. And mingle with people who have a positive outlook on life.

This forum is probably a better source of information than any personal finance book out there. Knowledge is important however it is not everything. What people need is a a good monthly income and that's only possible you own a business fully. If you started to wageslave for the big/small corps in your young age and continued to do so till your old age, then it gets harder to become financially free/independent in your young age because that's what wageslaving does to you. It eats away your soul. If you wageslave long enough, they will give you a pension and then you can live the rest of your remaining 10 years in peace.

Takes away the youth in us even when we are working online. The problem with such a situation is that we from a poor country and won't have a pension after retiring which is why I'm heavily invested in BTC and staking coins because when the time comes, it will be my reliable source.

Personal finance is harder for the newer generation when they are caught in this turbulent time and recession is on the way to depression. The only they can rely on is the skills they have, It would be fine if they can find a job but if companies are filing bankruptcy, they are on their own.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: August 30, 2023, 02:43:22 AM
Casimero is getting old. He's about to face the beginning of the end of his career and yet he's still facing no-names. He's been calling out quality fighters but gets the scraps. Whether deserving or not, this must largely be due to the opportunity he negligently lost. And now he's provided with another opponent who can't offer much. Oguni is an old and inactive boxer who doesn't have a professional boxing resume he can boast of. Casimero should win in a powerful way.

Casimero fighting against an unknown fighter who he knows is no match is just somewhat of a fixed fight for him to be tuned up. He needs to move up because by the time Inoue unifies the belt in the SBW, he'd be gone up to 126.

Casimero is getting old and got no belt that will make Inoue interested in fighting for. If he is still interested in fighting the baddest monster, he'd have to be 126lbs with the belt from WBA and IBF for him to get a shot with Inoue.
806  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Accelerated U.S. Bitcoin ETF Adoption on: August 30, 2023, 02:23:07 AM

Doesn't make sense why they were approving the futures market but I'm guessing the regular wouldn't try the futures market but the seasoned traders do. And them futures traders do know the risk and need no protection.

GBTC getting approved for Spot ETF might just be a good time after BTC hits the 4-year low. Nothing to squeeze from the crowd of futures traders anymore, all of them end up losing to the ones who manipulated the market.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How late is too late to place a bet for a gambler? on: August 30, 2023, 01:42:14 AM
Did that last minute bet make you win or you lost more and regretted the decision?

How late is too late to place a bet or make a wager in both online and offline games and matches?

Are there also good online platforms or betting sites that have good last minute betting options for matches/games?
It goes both ways for me, but I have to say i've lost more because the odds usually go down even further when the match starts in a few minutes. The only time I regret doing it is during live bets because placing live bets takes several seconds and I got unlucky with one of my bets. It was one of the worst bets because the odds quickly shifted from 1.6 to 1.2, causing me to get the lowest available odds.

I'd suggest signing up on all of the decent sportsbooks you can find because they have different odds providers. Picking one or two sites could lead you to miss out on better odds because other sportsbooks offer less juice on specific markets.

It's one reason to bet early. Odds terribly change during live bets and the ones you think could make you win do have the tendency to make odds not worth it. But even so, we kept doing it because, by the time it was almost obvious to see who would win, we were also sure to win. Winning a substantial amount, however, needs a bigger capital which makes us small-time bettors think of whether it's late or not. For the risktaker with deeper pockets, it's still cool.
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [JUST IN] Grayscale wins lawsuit against the SEC on: August 29, 2023, 07:04:31 PM
This I guess is also the reason for the price running up.
I was already expecting Blackrock's ETF to be approved but GBTC might just be the one that is needed to kickstart the bull run if they are approved. Whichever of them will do though. Any of them. But I'm guessing whichever has the ton of BTC will be approved the first.

I think the hype might be short-lived.  The SEC still have the final say on whether anything gets approved or not.  Otherwise every company would be filing a lawsuit.  Still don't think a Spot ETF will happen for another few years yet.

I was about to be happy but you made me realize again that SEC always has the last word.  Not the time to celebrate yet.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: August 29, 2023, 06:32:10 PM
For the love of all that's holy in this world..NEVER...use an online casino, or any casino for that matter to store funds for any sort of mid to long term holdings.  First off it's not the safest place to keep it, secondly you're not earning any interest, third it might entice ones self to gamble when they probably wouldn't have otherwise.

I keep as little cash on hand as possible so that it can remain invested, and keeping it in an online casino account is not investing.

If the withdrawal fee is too high or the threshold amount to withdraw is too high, the gambler might actually just think of storing the coins inside the casino. Especially if he still plans to play over and over.

I have this dilemma as well when the casino tokens I have invested are to remain in a casino for staking which I also earn some revenues shared to users who stake casino tokens. Somehow few of my coins are in the casino. This is not a different circumstance I think.
810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question on Governemnt's Sales of Seized Bitcoins on: August 29, 2023, 03:37:40 PM

Everything is just talk though, there were real numbers of how much was being seized even the Silk Road's BTC I think the numbers aren't right. Let's say the Mtgox coins are also seized because, after all, the US government can get a hold of those people despite them living elsewhere in the world. So there is much more than that 207,189 BTC.

The old exchanges since the past decade I think also have a ton of BTC since the time when it was just so cheap that they must have accumulated millions like the Yobit exchange that still operates even today. I think they are supported by the Russian government because it's still not shut down.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How late is too late to place a bet for a gambler? on: August 29, 2023, 03:15:00 PM

I can only think late when you monitor the live games.

I still bet on soccer games while watching it live. I find it good when the winning team still has the odds of 1.50 but by the time I get to go ahead the odds change to 1.90, I might not try this anymore. Of course, one should think it is still good but I will have doubts when it jumps that high. It would have been different if it's going 1.10, then I guess it is the safest but I have to risk a bigger amount for it.
812  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] SportScore.io Live Sport Analytics For your Sport Bets! on: August 29, 2023, 03:36:35 AM

It would have been good if they included the rest of the sports but seeing it's not yet done, I think it will evolve into a gambling site one day or will promote a casino of its own. I'm guessing they are going to ask for a fee when it's all done when the site provides helpful data to its users.

It's just for football for now. It needs to pull out more data from its sources. It'd be interesting if they had tutorials on how fans are going to make use of the data. Anyway welcome to bitcointalk.
813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: August 29, 2023, 01:58:52 AM
~snip~
No government will allow this game to be played. But in many places such games are conducted. If we look at the game of wrestling, there is a scripted game. But still sometimes I get news of some accidents and there is no script written in the game of these animals. Both animals are likely to be harmed in a fight. That's why even though this game is popular, it is not supported by the government. Others consider it a form of animal abuse. But behind the scenes this game is still quite popular. But I have no idea whether this game is run on any casino platform or not.
There are still places that the government cannot reach because it is difficult for the government to trace the location. That's because the players don't spread the location of the place to many people or many places so that only certain people who are familiar with cockfighting will know about it. They may be spectators who have often seen cockfights and enjoy the fights, apart from the regular players who continue to gamble.

That is why, in some countries, this cockfighting game is still quite popular even though only a few people know its location. But that's enough for us to know that this cockfight is still gambling and is growing rapidly. But we don't know whether this cockfighting fight is available in offline or online casinos.
You're right it all depends on the geographical location and the government rules and regulations for pets or animals. Besides, in some states in the US, there are rules for the motorist to stop for some certain animal to cross the road while in some states there's nothing like that. The same thing goes for cock fighting which there's no law discouraging it in some countries.

They said they have some laws for it, it was being banned but only those cockpit arenas that are allowed to hold cockfighting events. The cockfighting events held from the outskirts are the ones that are illegal which only the locals know about.

It's the same thing that we do with our makeshift casinos in the backyards. The difference is that these cockfighting have evolved into online channels and I think the legal arenas are trying their luck for these opportunities to make money.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do the size and frequency of online casino winnings depend on the time of year? on: August 29, 2023, 01:26:09 AM
Not every year but I often win during bull runs.
True that the casinos are giving more promotions during the Yuletide period which is why more people are betting as well and so are people who win. Saw some incredible threads showing how big their wins are but in the bull run, I'm confident in spending more and winning more because of the assurance of the money that is growing in our wallets.

815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: August 28, 2023, 07:08:57 PM

Successful gamblers are never addicted to gambling.  Because those who are addicted to gambling deviate from their normal thinking and greed works in them due to which they cannot gain anything good from gambling.  On the other hand they suffer a lot from gambling.  However, those who are successful gamblers do not gamble for a long time but think a lot and do a lot of research and then invest in gambling. Don't panic while gambling but gamble with a cool head. And finally they succeed. they are the real gainers

The successful gambler will not get addicted any point, the greedy people only get addicted to the gambling. The gambling sites will help us to earn some big win when the fortune come to you.But you should not get addicted after that win, then all your winning may go to the loss.Plan the game after the winning will keep you away from the addiction. The addicted gamblers will not be normal, they will keep play till the daily deposit limits get over. They will play the sleepless game, but the normal gambler won’t play the game without the sleep.Because they consider gambling as the game, but the addict consider the gambling as the earning platform.Just expect the entertainment from the gambling.

But they must have been addicted before they got their control over this addiction. This is just like getting in love with a woman, you'll get brokenhearted first and then you get over with the fantasies in order for you to be able to think straight.

Those successful gamblers have been there before, they've been addicted at least during their early years which today they can sleep tight even when the night they lost thousands of USD, they won't hastily bet in order to get back the loss.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 28, 2023, 06:51:39 PM

Tyson Fury has never had a healthy lifestyle and I've never seen ripped Fury after all but there was a time when he tried and still he looked chubby because he has a lot of subcutaneous fat and it's very hard to get rid of it, plus, as far as I remember, he said he isn't that disciplined and can't say no to tasty foods. To summarize, he doesn't want to put the effort to lose weight and get ripped because it brings absolutely zero value to him and he is not a person who cares about looks. So, he eats whatever he wants and has fun.
The fact is, he beats people, he beats everyone, he beats people who dedicate their life to training and diet, who constantly look at numbers on computers to check their conditions and every statistics.

Tyson Fury is a pure talent. In the world of sport, there are talents and athletes. Talents don't need to train much and eat limited, they are naturally talented, their body and mind is built for the sport they compete in. But athletes, they are just average humans who want to become successful in certain sport and they train all the time and follow diet to get as good result as possible. And there are a lot of examples of that in every sport, like in football, we know that Messi is a talent and Ronaldo is an athlete.

Well, after the fight he will likely do and eat a burger for sure just like what he did with his fight with Dillian Whyte he also gave Dillian Whyte a burger which Whyte said he couldn't eat because he got bad teeth that were destroyed during the fight so for sure it was a terrible idea for Tyson Fury in getting Whyte to eat his favorite, but for sure it was how Tyson Fury just do things he will likely train hard but his body fat is still likely there, well I don't really want to body shame at all that is why,

He might just think of how good is he even if he didn't do something about his weight, The dude still has the power to knockout heavyweights and that's all he needs since he already proved it against Wilder thrice. Now that he looks heavier than before, I don't think he will be that serious when he fights Ngannou because he is full of himself and thinks the guy is an easy fight. well! we can't really understand how Fury thinks since he always finds his way to win every fight. let's just see how will it turn out this time.

For sure every boxer has an imprint that they will likely still be good with the boxing department even though he is not that fitted to fight, his movement and brain have likely remembered most of the moves he previously had, so even though Tyson Fury is not fit to fight he would likely still got a chance that he will knockout every boxing fighter for sure,

Muscle reflex memory so they say but he's been boxing all his life so it's given that he can do miracles even without sparing practice. Yep, I saw his documentary, he is a family man. A person who loves his family and enjoys the big family he has lots of kids. Whatever his kids are eating, he would have been eating them as well. Diet is important to the life of boxers.

He wouldn't be worrying about defeat all because of this diet, he chose the heavy weight class because he is already heavy and couldn't care less about what to eat. After a few days of fasting, he can get the required weight in order to fight.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Still not a safe practice even if it works on: August 28, 2023, 05:27:13 PM

What would be the reason for them to get caught right now when they have been using VPN for a long time?
They have been using it for a long time and I assume they have also won amounts within that duration, I'm sure their accounts would have been examined by the staff when they won but still, they continue playing. But then anyway, this is just a warning. I think it's the new account that should be worrying, they are yet to be checked.

There has to be a casino that will allow those from China or Middle Easterners to play without using a VPN. But for now, they will continue until there is one.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: August 28, 2023, 01:55:23 PM

I might add up some micro loan for this bet if I will experience this kind of golden opportunity. I knew this bet is only possible with fixed match but there’s no really a 100% can’t lose bet even on fixed match since there’s a chance that the match will be caught as fixed match and your bets will be confiscated for being involved.

I don't think adding a micro loan for such bet is reasonable. Taking a loan is like a leverage and that is risky, it is better to bet base on your capacity and not relying on what additional loan for it. Worse of it is that there is no guarantee that you will have the winning so why thinking of adding loan, some match are fixed which could be discovered. Like the example you gave, some times you see matches stopped on the way or suspended if the organizer believe there is fixing on it, so in such case you either lose your bet money or it is returned to you.

It's not actually a bad idea to take a loan for such a purpose, people who would do this I guess are more than 100% sure. While it is risky, he plans to make money out of thin air. I'm sure he'd enjoy it if the fixed fight is right.

I'd be tempted to do this as well if there is just someone who will lend some without collateral and hope it will return 2x at least to pay for the interest. However, it feels like the question is meant for us to dream a bit while it can't hardly be real.

819  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: August 28, 2023, 01:32:09 PM

10 years will really be a long bear but since you have already been holding since this bottom, it wouldn't be worth it to sell anymore unless you really need the money for a purpose. You just have to wait when that time would come or wait til bullrun.

Unfortunately, more people are into crypto for the purpose of making a profit. You can't blame them after all people promote crypto as a hedge against the inflation that is affecting everyone.
820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: August 28, 2023, 09:00:46 AM

Depends on who exactly said 100% chance of winning. If it was the organization that held the sports event, I'd go all in. If it's just someone who overheard that the fight is a fixed fight, then probably just 10%. But this is if I see people are actually betting on that team as well.

When it's a fixed fight people usually know but still leave doubt like Ngannou vs Fury. Pretty sure this is a fixed fight but it may still depend on who is running the show and sometimes politics are involved.
