LOL its joke, nvidia made ton of money from gaming segment reaching 75% from gpu market, nvdia shouldnt ruined GPUMINING, cause amd is favorable from miner,
lets vega kickout this shit gpu Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue
I don't think Vega would be good for mining. It should cost like $500 it means 2x RX 580 8GB performance...
Also HBM-1 had very bad timings and timings mean a lot in mining ETH, XRM, ZEC, maybe HBM-2 will be better... It will be probably better for mining altcoins where memory isn't that important...
1602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying GPUs, need an opinion on: June 10, 2017, 11:31:22 AM
right now, I plan on buying some GPUs for mining.

I have these two gpus shortlisted
r9 295x2
gtx 1070
i will buy 4 of these so I am thinking which one is better in mining/cost+electricity factor.
any other gpu suggestion is welcome.

R9 295 has good hashrates, but wattage are extreme!
GTX 1070 cost a lot but it has great power consumption.

Best you can have are RX 470/480/570/580, but you need to wait till they have some on stock.
1603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: June 10, 2017, 11:16:42 AM

I have an order of xx gpus... but they keep pushing the date back.
Originally it was 11th june.
Now its up to 7th JULY Sad
Yeah it will be in the begining of the July. 5th July the earliest date I saw.

Hi All,

1st post so please go easy on me !

I have successfully managed to get a Monero miner up and running using 5 x Saphire RX580 Nitro+ 4GB Hynix memory.
Using all stock out of box settings they hash at 624 h/s

Im currently using ethos and using globalmem at 2160 and globalcor at 1215 with powertune set to 3, and globalfan set to 45, I have them hashing at 670 h/s running with the included sgminer-GM at 40 degrees.

My question is, is it worth me rebuilding the rig running windows to try and increase this hash rate? What sort of h/s do people think is achievable with these cards?

Currently my rig is pulling between 530 and 545 watts at the wall.

Any help greatly appreciated.
Pretty good stock hashrates... and very good wattage! Well my RX 480 has 840H/s with Samsung memory on XMR-STAK almost same RX 470 with Elpida. What is interesting that RX 470 with Samsung has 870H/s Cheesy it could be alsmot 900H/s but it's not stable.
I will test hashrates with SGminer next week. SGminer should have little bit better hashrates, but I like XMR-STAK web stats.

You can use modded bios on ethos, only voltage in bios shouldn't be changed, but performance timings will work for sure.
You better use Windows for flashing card or usb flash drive with atiflash.
1605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [HARDWARE][NVIDIA]Pascal GP106-100 Mining GPU on: June 10, 2017, 08:12:57 AM
I think nvidia's finger is not on the pulse of GPU mining; these cards are slow/offer poor densitiy, 90-day warranty is a joke and will be likely hard to come by.

And realistically, the success of GPU mining stems from everyone having GPUs. If, in a few years cheap mining-only GPUs push regular GPUs out of the mining market then we'll have the same centralized nonsense as with ASICs.

Personally I hope this will be a flop - which so far it looks like it will - and they stop.
I don't want mining GPUs either...
Sadly it seems like this will be true, if this is only for really big mining companies well I can live with that. What's good that it has pretty low hashrates so almost no home miner with common sense won't invest in GPU like this.
1606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / [HARDWARE][NVIDIA] Pascal GP106-100 - True Mining GPU on: June 10, 2017, 08:00:00 AM
I don't know if somebody start whole topic for this GPU? I saw topic for the mining rig only.

Here are some links and informations.
Pros
  • True mining GPU
  • No video output
  • Probably good cooling for 24/7
  • Price? $200?
  • In stock?
Cons
  • 90 days warranty? This is impossible in EU for consumers so they will be sold only for companies?!
  • 1060 chipset
  • 192 bit memory bus?
  • Low hashrates
  • Almost no resale potential!

Hashrates
8x of these GPUs: 200 MH/s for ETH, 2500 Sol/s for ZEC, 4400 H/s for XMR.
That's pretty low! Mainly for XMR... 5x RX 470 can have more than these 8 GPUs...

1607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 570 on: June 10, 2017, 06:27:51 AM
Has anyone used a Visiontek 570?  I just got a hold of them and am about to setup my rig.  I'm a bit hesitant to keep them though because hardly anyone talks about Visiontek cards..

I have 2 of these cards, they one gets 22mhs and the other gets 24 with stock settings. They both have elpida memory.

I found a modded bios at http://1stminingrig.com/are-the-rx570-and-rx580-profitable-mining-performance-review/ a member named dragoon posted a modded bios, increased my hashrate to 26 and 27mhs for eth. Anorak.tech has some visiontek roms as well.
Isn't this just reference card?? It's made by AMD!! Reference cards are all same.
1608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 27 mH ASUS RX 480 STRIX 8GB Ethereum mining BIOS on: June 10, 2017, 06:25:54 AM
Have you modified the bios? if Yes please mention the details as currently my card has stock bios and what is your room temp, my room temp is around 25c to 30c night and in night it is hitting 83c mostly and i am using afterburner with it.
Undervolting and underclocking will help you with temps, but without additional fans it will be still pretty bad.
1609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: June 10, 2017, 06:23:31 AM
I'm wondering where to even find a 470/480/570/580
Few days ago I've bought RX 480 MSI Gamming 4G, returned to the shop.
Some also wrote me that he bought 6 GPUs on Amazon.de, but whenever I'm looking there for GPUs they are all out of stock Cheesy
I think most shop says the will have GPUs in July...
But do not expect RX 4xx series anymore, only returned cards would be this series.
1610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 27 mH ASUS RX 480 STRIX 8GB Ethereum mining BIOS on: June 09, 2017, 07:11:30 PM
Hi
I bought a Asus Strix 480 8GB which is Getting hot on ethereum Mining the highest temp was 89c (with using msi afterburner) which is very hot i think as 480 do not go above 80c? Normally it is hitting 79c to 85c and its temp bounces it is not constant and fans are very load.

So what should i do is it a problem or not? should i get it replaced?

What are you GPU temps like before bios and after bios?

And how i can upgrade the bios and which bios and settings will be perfect as i read your thread.

Thanks in advance and please help me.
Well, GPU can handle like 100° but  not for 24/7! You need temp under 70° for long time or under 80° should be fine but not that safe.
Undervolting will help to lower temp.
Also you need other fans not just those on GPUs, I have 2x 20cm for suction and 4x 12cm for exhaust. I need inside more fans, the gpu in x16 slot and CPU with stock cooler make lot of heat and my old PC case have only 1x 80mm and 1x 92mm fans... I've attached 1x 12cm and it's much better now. But still need improvement.

I buy a bios a mattev for my rx 580 4go (hynix)

Result 31.2 mh / s

Adjusting msi AB

-50, -75 mv
1150/2150 memory
Voltage 0.91 and 0.94
I'm glad you are happy with it Smiley

True Micron, do you have any timing to share?

I do, write me on my mail pls.
1613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus DUAL-RX580-O8G VS MSI RX 580 GAMING X 8G? on: June 09, 2017, 02:29:30 PM
Which aspect did I push too much?  I see many people running 2100+ memory clock and this card is 2000 out of the box.

I did not reinstall drivers.  I will do that tonight when I get home if that's a missing step
Some people also have fallen from 10m and do not hurt yourself, but I think I still wont do that.

I had Asus Dual, it wasn't even able run stock clocks...

There is no reason clocking memory to speed of light... tighter timing makes biggest difference.

NVIDIA CARD ?
Sry I don't have NVIDIA cards Sad
1615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus DUAL-RX580-O8G VS MSI RX 580 GAMING X 8G? on: June 09, 2017, 10:45:06 AM
I just bought two of the MSI 580 Gaming X and one plus version.

On the non-plus - stock they ran about 22mhs.  I modded and got 25mhs.

For some reason ANY modification to the memory clock COMPLETELY DESTROYS mhs.  At 2000 I get 25 mhs, bump to 2050 and it falls to 18mhs.  Slowly ramping up I might get up to 20 mhs until 2100+ will crash the card.

I have no idea wtf is wrong.  I tried both MSI afterburner and wattman.  I tried oc the memory with no other adjustments and as soon as I touch the memory clock, mhs falls like a rock.  This happened with stock and modded bios.

If anyone has any ideas, please give me one.  Oh - and I have hynix memory

I haven't tried modding the plus version yet.  It runs 24.5mhs stock, but temps are insane.  Like 85c already.
You pushed too much. Hynix can't handle this much overclock.
Also did you reinstall drivers after flash?
1616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 570 on: June 09, 2017, 10:42:54 AM
Right now im mining with 3x xfx rx 570 4gb and a powercolor rx 570. But when i tried adding a 580 8gb. System reads all 5 cards but only 2 are working. Tried gen1 lane. Tried rearranging the cards. My mobo is asrock b250 fatality gaming k4. Can any one help me here?
Try reinstall drivers.

is there an big different between the rx570 4gb and the rx570 8gb?
No.

I get 29 MH/s per card but does anyone achieved 30MH/s?
I do. 31MH/s unstable, 30+ stable with RX 470 Strix - Samsung.
1617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BIOS and mods for Sapphire RX 480 8gb Micron Memory - 0.25 ETH reward for help on: June 09, 2017, 10:39:49 AM
Guys, I'm in search of advice. I have a Sapphire Nitro rx480 card (non plus model, Micron memory) 11260-20-20G. All the modded ROMs I've ever tried make the Claymore's miner work for about a minute or two at 30+Mh/s before crashing the Windows 10. The recent one from this thread (thank you, doktor83!) worked for about 15 minutes at 29-30Mh/s before crashing the drivers and rebooting. So, can't make it work in stable mode.

I also have a strange problem - the Watttool 0.92 doesn't show anything for my card, everything is zero. Also, neither Trixx nor the GPU-Z show the GPU temp. The latest version of Windows 10 with Crimson 16.9.1 drivers (newer drivers do not recognize the card with the custom bios for some reason).

Also, what is the reason that some of the modded ROMs are 256KB when the original ROM dump is 512KB?
I need to know if it is the problem with the card or I'm doing something wrong. The card is hashing at 25Mhs on default ROM (see the link below for the original ROM).

http://wikisend.com/download/708788/RX4808GBOCnonplusOriginal.rom
Bad drivers or you too much overclocked cards, probably memory errors.
You better not use modded bios you can do your own, much safer. Link to guide in my signature.
1618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 27 mH ASUS RX 480 STRIX 8GB Ethereum mining BIOS on: June 09, 2017, 10:37:23 AM
Why your memory clock is not about 2200 ? It's more important for ethereum mining. I really wonder it.
No it's not! Performance timings like Uber-Mix give higher memory bandwith than higher memory clocks.
1619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: So confused.. Asus RX 480 8Gb on: June 09, 2017, 10:14:17 AM
You need performace timings for true performance... Guide in my signature.

Yes I know, that's what I did,

But why do I have 2 different timmings?

I copy 1650 in 2000, but no change

I stay at 24.8 mh Sad

I do not understand

Read the guide pls!

If you have more straps like this 1:xxxx 2:xxxx, you need to copy to the right one. In VRAM section, there is dropdown menu the Samsung one start with K, Hynix with H and Elpida with E. First one is 1:xxxx second one is 2:xxxx, SRBPolaris showing exact name of memory vendor.
