Davinci: just out of curiosity did you you compile namecoind normally? like with wxwigets and upnp and all that, or did you take any shortcuts?

Ive got a ArtForz binary I compiled on a i386 - if it will work on your machine try it out and see what happens

http://btcwebhost.com/files/namecoind

I installed wxwidgets and miniupnp manually and compiled namecoin with make -f makefile.unix

I currently have a pool up running poolservj 0.40 rc7 with bitcoind 0.50 artforz namecoind

I have 7 ghash pointed at it now - only did about 60k shares so far but we will see - hopefully I hit a mainnet block in the next couple days

btw I have to brag for shads, this machine is a p4 1.7 ghz with 256 mb of ram
and its running a mysql database, with poolserverj, bitcoind, namecoind and handeling 7ghash smooth as can be with relatively low server load!
woohoo! Smiley

let me rephrase

DDoS resilience  - it has QoS support to ensure workers who’ve submitted valid work are serviced with priority
1629  Other / Meta / Re: No more signature images on: November 29, 2011, 03:03:04 AM
its not that they are blocking one and not another

the way it works is as soon as you change your signature it starts to blocks images

so the people who still have images in their signature means they have not changed it since before the new rules

subject races? are you serious dude? Ok now this is getting scary bro

you turning this into something it is not, i never ever said I was against the right for people to own guns
1631  Other / Politics & Society / Re: That's it. I am done. This country is done. I am getting the fuck out of here. on: November 29, 2011, 02:24:06 AM
that is such a ridiculous response I am not even going to give it an answer, c'mon man the NRA does not even ask questions like that these days

Don't talk to me about the law and the constitution I know what those are and we are not arguing what the law is. i don't have to move I already live in NY - we have some of the toughest gun laws and I thank God for them.

Guns Kill People. People make crazy decisions all the time because of emotions. You are what 17 years old? Maybe some day when you grow up and have kids you will understand where I am coming from. You can spill out a bunch of facts and bullshit because you think guns are cool and they make you feel like a big man, but you know what ? When no guns are around people dont get shot. and thats good enough for me.

1633  Other / Politics & Society / Re: That's it. I am done. This country is done. I am getting the fuck out of here. on: November 29, 2011, 12:38:32 AM
call me what names you will but thats scary as shit.

Arizona has similar gun laws, look what happened to Gabrielle Giffords

I believe as Americans we have a right to own guns and bear them if necessary but it is crazy to allow people to carry them around every where they go unless they are law enforcement.

No offense ALPHA but 90% of 18 year old boys do not have the reason and maturity to carry around a pistol, if I carried a pistol when I was 18 surely someone would of ended up dead.

A good friend of mine got mixed up selling drugs, he kept guns in the house, someone tried to rob him - he pulled out a shotgun and shot the guy in the back as he was running out of the house - thank God the kid did not die but my friend who was barely 21 at the time is spending 10 years in prison.

All the statistics show Gun possession causes violence not stops it.

Call me what you will but this is 2011 and it's insane to think that everyone should be allowed to carry around guns - especially concealed.

I will gladly donate time and coinage if he switches to poolserverj

its much more efficient, ddos resistant and merged mining compatible out of the box

does not suprise me at all john mcain's name is on this thing

I doubt it will pass, we are too close to an election - Obama will veto this, just like he's trying to end waterboarding.

It's quite funny how it was done in a "Secrete closed door meeting"

if this were the bush era they would be doing it out in the open and portraying it as doing their patriotic duty!
1638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Step by Step Tutorial: How To Setup A Merged Mining BTC/NMC Pool on: November 28, 2011, 08:58:06 PM
i mined testnet namecoin blocks with my setup yes. I dont have enough hashing power to really test it on mainnet.

btw: He's looking for someone to do this for free always, he forgot to add that part in, which I learned by contacting him

(I am a network administrator of 20+ years) and although I do not mind helping people out for free, what he is asking would take too much of my time to do for free

His first post says he's paying in BitCoin, though... now it's for free? :p

I PM'd him, basically gave him a quick rundown of my resume / experience
he PM'd me back and told me what he wanted me to do
I PM'd him a price (which I thought was very reasonable, I think it was 30 BTC (at that time it was $2.00 a coin0 to do everything he wanted , including remotely connecting to his computer, setting up his firewall and a bunch of other stuff) and told him I was ready to get started today

never heard from him again

so maybe he wasnnt planning on totally free but maybe he thought he was going to pay 1 btc or somethin ;P i dunno
