1161  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: A1BitcoinPool Complaint on: February 21, 2012, 02:09:46 PM
BTCWebHost.com hosted this pool, and although his server is now formatted and being used for something else, the DNS was still pointing to an IP that I own. I have since pointed the domain back to his web site.

Since he paid me to host his pool and buy the domain for him I ended up technically owning it. I am willing to sell it for 1 BTC + the cost of officially transferring it (if any).

I can be reached at contact@btcwebhost.com

thanks!

ahh I see what your saying

hehe I bet your a lot younger than me, I can tell by your style of doing things in windows

I come from the days when you needed batch files just to boot your computer,,, so I guess I look at things in a different way Smiley

I got into computers because I wanted to play Comanche on my dads 486 DX2 and I needed to create a boot disk in order to make it work. Sometimes I miss those simple days

Dx2 awesome!

I remember my parents buying me my first 486 (for about $2000) when I was about 11 or 12, I will always remember the salesman at OfficeMax telling us "you will never need more than 4 megabytes of ram."

LOL

Autoexec.bat baby.... ALL THE WAY!!!

can you imagine the sheer joy I felt when I was able to load my double speed cd-rom in dos?
1165  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Risers fail story on: February 20, 2012, 02:27:48 PM
the above referenced article is incorrect though, I have 5 rigs all using 890fxa-gd70 (which are listed on the above article of boards that need to be jumped) I am using 1x >16x risers on all five and do not have a problem and do not have to jump any pins

this kind of modification can be very dangerous to many components if you do not know what your doing, be careful!

also you may want to buy extenders from cablesaurus instead of on ebay, his cables are probably better than most you find on ebay

1167  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU bitforce overclock monitor fanspeed GCN RPC linux/windows/osx 2.2.7 on: February 20, 2012, 02:19:22 PM
ckvolias

2.2.7 has some serious problems in windows if pool 0 is not live

takes a very long time just to start and then it starts to show gpus as sick when they are not
does not happen if the pool 0 is live

this may have been the case in 2.2.6 and not noticed it , have a feeling it has something to do with your new pool probing setup
1168  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 20, 2012, 02:15:23 PM
but if you make a batch file you dont have to type the commands, unless im missing something
1169  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 20, 2012, 02:12:39 PM
cgminer is far superior to guiminer and its very easy (so easy in fact you can do all your overclocking right from cgminer!) just make a batch file

open up note pad

type something like this

Code:
@echo off
cgminer -o http://gpumax.com:8332 -u username -p pass -o http://backuppool.com:8332 -u username -p pass -I 9 --gpu-engine 900 --gpu-memclock 300 --gpu-fan 50
(obviously you want to change to reflect your situation)

save it as startminer.bat inside your cgminer folder, create a short cut on your desktop
and boom, your overclocking and mining with all your cards on that rig with just one click!

Hi,

I'd like to know more about the fees. Also: good customer experience anyone?

I can report an excellent customer experience, my first time trying the site I bet on the super bowl (and won!) my winnings were posted to my account within mins of the game being over.

1171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New Bitcoin chatroom on CoinConnect the new Bitcoin social network on: February 20, 2012, 01:58:14 AM
Thanks BadBear

matt: from now on just post updates in the Main CoinConnect thread (might take some looking around to find it)

we dont want to clutter up the forum with multiple threads for what is really one thing.

thanks

the thread did not get moved, the OP (which is not me) put it here by accident maybe? (this is a new thread)

Hopefully the drawing is soon!

http://www.coinconnect.org/blog/view/174/coinconnect-is-giving-away-a-free-google-android-tablet-to-one-of-the-first-200-people-to-register-an-account-and-setup-a-profile

We have 160 members so far, and not quite all of them have setup their profile

Although matt has been doing a great job of promotion and the site is growing with (REAL) users

so I see the drawing happening very soon!

keep up the good work matt!

1175  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The end is nigh on: February 17, 2012, 07:33:09 PM
I was still profitable at $2 , I live in upstate ny and our energy is fairly inexpensive compared to other places. At $2 I was still bringing in about 150% of my total energy cost for my home
1176  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The end is nigh on: February 17, 2012, 07:01:11 PM
When the last crash happened I was mining at full capacity and buying up all the quitters cheap hardware , when the difficulty was way down and value at $2 I was mining like han solo Smiley I was able to double my mining operation with mining profits

I too have faith I don't even read speculator threads at all 9 out of 10 of them are manipulating for their own agenda
