665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: June 07, 2012, 11:46:36 PM
so heres the bottom line, my pool was broken and because of it your getting a bunch of free money
along with other miners who were around at that time
You got a 40BTC bounty for having a merge mining pool for DevCoin at the time merge mining was switched on didn't you? Think of the 'free' money as being a redistribution of that bounty to the users since the pool shut down soon after.

I understand that and have no problem redistributing the devcoins back into the ecosystem to better the network itself

To my defense please understand how it went down

at one time I was the ONLY Devcoin pool and if memory serves I did not receive any Bounty for that
When merged mining came into play I had plans to keep the pool going but suffered several big set backs
I setup the merged mining myself as I am very experienced with PoolServerJ however the web statistics side of it is beyond my scope as I am not a php programmer by any stretch of the imagination

I took that 40 BTC bounty and hired not one but two separate programmers to bring merged mining stats to my pool and both of them screwed me over

A good friend of mine who is a very early adopter of Bitcoin and one of the first members of this forum was hosting the pool for me on his server, the hard drive on the server died and he as a volunteer did not have the time or resources to help me get it going again and host it for me again

this is the reason the pool died, as I am sure Unthinkingbit can testify I was never the type of person who took a bounty and disappeared, I really believed in Devcoin (Still do) and wanted to be a part of it.

I have done a lot for Devcoin and I continue to support it by hosting Devtome.org for free which I will continue to do for ever as long as it is needed, please let the memory of my support of Devcoin be true to the good nature of what it really was and not paint it to be something else.

If I wanted to I could keep every single Devcoin that is in that wallet and I would be completely in my rights to do so, but that is not how I roll, I made the decision to donate the coins so please dont try and tarnish that.

666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: June 07, 2012, 07:48:53 PM
lol yep

before merged mining my pool earned every single devcoin block
then the difficulty was very high and we did not earn hardly any

667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: June 07, 2012, 07:09:32 PM
can someone send me a link or email me a ubuntu 64bit binary for devcoind?

668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: June 07, 2012, 06:36:51 PM
Not really no,

Devcoin.org is owned by me, although a Devoin enthusiast I am not one of the founders, creators etc

Devcoin.org is not made by anyone that is

how does this affect the Devcoin community?

Btw the fact you say you are owed 5 million devcoins is not true and you know it

I already told you the web site was displaying the wrong amount

you know damn well you are not owed 5 million devcoins, my pool did not even mine that many devcoins when you were mining on it

This is now the second time that you have publicly called me a liar.  I'm getting tired of it.

All I'm saying is that my account displayed that amount when I logged in your site.

I've already once returned incorrectly disbursed devcoins and I thought you got your display working.

I was the only one mining on your pool for several weeks, so I don't understand why the amount is so unreasonable.

Please tell me what amount I am due if it isn't 5 millionish.

I have no way to prove it but either do you

and listen I am sorry I dont mean to call you a liar

I dont ever remember you mining on the pool for several weeks but I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and give you something to compensate you but seriously there is no way it is 5 million devcoins

I am sorry the pool was screwing up, the big problem was this, I was getting devcoin bounty payments on the same wallet
and devcoin pays the bounties kind of like generated blocks, the pool did not know the difference so it was showing every bounty payment like it was a damn generated block

this is what I am going to do - I will get into the pools wallet and see whats in there
I will send you half of whatever is in the wallet
and the rest to Unthinkingbit

I wish I had time to play with Devcoin stuff but I really don't these days

I am not sure whats in that wallet but the file size is pretty big, it may very well be 10 mill in there

is that fair?

What ever c

You seem sincere, and I'm kind of at your mercy, so yes, your process seems fair (although I don't completely understand what's going on).

All I know is I'm rooting for that file to have more than 10 mil, heh.

Lemme know if you want me to delete any of my posts once we have this resolved.

I hate being someone spreading FUD (especially when I haven't had time to completely wrap my head around devcoin yet).

~ciao

Naa you dont have to delete any post

Let me explain it to you better

The pool was a wallet right

Well when the pool generates coins they show up in the wallet

I foolishly used an address from the pools wallet to have my Devcoin bounty payments sent to
because I did not realize the pool would screw them up

See I was getting payments every day
these are personal payments to me, it was my money but the pool confused those payments as generated blocks
so it was giving out my own personal money to the miners

when the difficulty was very high the pool thought it was mining blocks every day
when in reality it was not, it was only mining a block like once a week
if that

but it counted my personal payments and displayed them as mined blocks when in reality they were not

if you go look at a devcoin block explorer you will see what I mean when you see 45000 coin blocks instead of 5000
the 45000 coin blocks are devcoin bounty payments
and the 5000 coin blocks are generated blocks

well my pool did not know the difference

and it was counting all of those coins as mined blocks and giving away free money to miners

now I admit I was pre-occupied with other things and it went on much longer than it should of

so heres the bottom line, my pool was broken and because of it your getting a bunch of free money
along with other miners who were around at that time

Although I am going to give half of it back to Unthinkingbit because he was always very generous and nice person and I hope the coins go into doing something good for Devcoin , I really dont need them.

Ill let you know the amount later today
thanks!

Whatever personal problem you have with me - its your problem not mine.

*TOPIC LOCKED DUE TO HARASSMENT AND POSTING OFF TOPIC*

If anyone wants to trade PPUSD for Bitcoin please email tom@devcoin.org

if anyone has any accusation against me , bring it to the moderators.  Dont be a little bitch and try to start trouble for me just because you got nothing better to do.
671  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to Buy Large Amount of Bitcoins with PPUSD on: June 07, 2012, 05:45:41 PM
I had to accept a payment with it because there was no other way

I accepted it to do a favor for a good guy

Seems sort of conflicting

Ahh good the thorn in my side is here, yay!

No Terry ITS A BIG F'N SCAM

You caught me!
672  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to Buy Large Amount of Bitcoins with PPUSD on: June 07, 2012, 05:44:29 PM
I can do it but only willing to go ~$1K.  $3K is just too much risk for a single tx.

You transfer first (check DeathAndTaxes signature if needed) and pay 6% over MtGox last at the time of the tx (or 5.5% if willing to take MtGox USD code instead).  You can't send it as a gift though (PayPal will likely shut me down if I get any more "gifts").  My 6% includes my PayPal fees. Smiley

PM me if interested.

Please re-read the original post

My terms are I go first unless someone has a better reputation that I do and I have yet to see anyone post here that does

again if you do not agree with my terms why are you wasting time? I will not change them.
673  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to Buy Large Amount of Bitcoins with PPUSD on: June 07, 2012, 05:42:04 PM
What prevents you from withdrawing the money to your bank account and making a bank wire transfer from there?

I can accept a wire to Bank of America USD account, if you don't have a bank account, and you're physically in the US, the solution is simple: walk into any Bank of America branch, open an account, link it to your Paypal account, withdraw money from Paypal to there (I think Paypal's accounts are also in Bank of America so it should be fast), send a wire to me (inside Bank of America so its fast), and I send you Bitcoins. I can even send you coins first if you have a larger OTC rep then mine.

Is there anything which prevents you from doing the above? Safe and simple.

LOL

your missing the point here

Its not that I need Bitcoins, I have tons of Bitcoin

I have money in Paypal and wanted to convert it to Bitcoin - I will not attach my bank account to Paypal because I do not trust PayPal

I HATE paypal, I accepted it to do a favor for a good guy, and want to convert it to Bitcoin

no offense but I am not sure why I need to explain all of this to you? Tongue
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: June 07, 2012, 05:33:42 PM
mark where can I get the latest devcoin binaries?

I am going to have to get into this wallet now and see whats in there...
675  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to Buy Large Amount of Bitcoins with PPUSD on: June 07, 2012, 05:27:28 PM
but my account was not hacked with a key logger and this money is good and legit

But you can't know, and can't guarantee where the person who paid you these 3000$ got it on his Paypal account from, and even if you can guarantee for him, you can't guarantee for people who paid him in the past - if these people where not in fact hacked accounts. If they get reversed, your 3000$ will get reversed and your payments to other people will get reversed.

No money in a Paypal account is guaranteed good and legit.

I understand what you are saying and you are right

Just let me put it this way to make it simple.

I personally believe this person that sent me the money is 100% legit, the money came from his credit card through paypal and to me, I know this person and they are a very upstanding member of the community.

Yes everything miernik is true with paypal but I believe this paypal money to be legit and I would not be selling it if I believed otherwise

if you are not comfortable with that please dont buy any PPUSD from me
thanks

I am willing to send the PPUSD as a gift so there is no fear of charge back

Bullshit warning: gifts on Paypal are also reversible.

If the person who paid you gets a charge back, and has no money on his account to cover it, his payments to other people will get reversed, where they gifts or not.
If someone's Paypal account was hacked with a key logger, then payments from that account will be reversed, and all payments other people made with that money, to as many levels as is required to cover the charge back.

Oh, and look at this guy: lots of good reputation for a long time on OTC and then big Paypal charge backs: http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=spawn-&sign=ANY&type=RECV&sortby=created_at&sortorder=DESC

Your only chance to get that money out of Paypal is to buy something physical off eBay that someone wants to pay Bitcoin for. Physical silver coins are good. You don't even have to have them shipped to you, just straight to the buyer for Bitcoin.

I can accept for example these from eBay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Half+Dollar+Walking+Liberty and pay you Bitcoin for them, of course I send the BTC only after I physically get the coin in my hands, no earlier - regardless of your reputation (because any deal with Paypal/eBay is risky enough). I'd pay about 1.5 BTC per one of them at the moment (not all years, ask before bidding). Shipped to me in Europe that is of course.

Thanks for the info

but my account was not hacked with a key logger and this money is good and legit

I am looking to buy Bitcoin with PPUSD I have conducted thousands of dollars in transactions on this forum and have a very good reputation , many of you know me and have done business with me - you are getting this PPUSD based on my good word if thats not good enough for you then don't do business with me, these are the terms plain and simple there is really no need for everyone to post in this thread or to contact me if you do not want to do this transaction on my word and on my terms.

for more information on the dangers of Paypal to Bitcoin transactions please read this great thread by theymos

Hello Friends

Although I despise PayPal I was put in a situation where I had to accept a payment with it because there was no other way

So now I am looking to buy about $3k worth of Bitcoins with PPUSD

You will need to send the Bitcoins first unless your reputation equals mine.

I am willing to send the PPUSD as a gift so there is no fear of charge back

My reputation on this forum and Bitcoin-otc speaks for itself

Interested parties should PM me or email tom@devcoin.org

Paypal can be dangerous because of transaction reversals

I personally believe there will be no problems and would not try to sell this PPUSD if there was, but please protect your self regardless
for more information on the dangers of trading PPUSD for Bitcoin please refer to this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=14632.0

If you wish to trade I will only do so on the terms I specified at the top of this thread please do not post off topic or request that I change my terms because I will not do so.

thank you.
