OK because everybody said CGMiner was so great I decided to finally switch over (well mostly now since both babies are asleep
). I have been able to get it to work on my single card rigs like my PC at home using this line:
cgminer -o
http://gpumax.com:8332 -u 4f385447ccaa1017760af1b8 -p abc123 -o pool.ABCPool.co:8332 -u genericuser -p genericpw -I 9 --failover-only
Does that sound about right? I figure I'll let afterburner and Trixx handle the clocks since I was able to get the memory down to 180.
My next question is what do I do about my multicard rigs? I have 4 GD70s running 6870s. In the past I have always made a worker for every card - that way I know if any specific card is acting up instead of guessing which one in a rig. Is there any way to tell CGMiner to use one worker for one device and another worker for another? In GUIminer this is easy as I just create a new worker for each card.
I didn't bother to make a config file - I'm assuming that's OK.
Pirate, you seem to done a great job getting the miner hangs worked out (guess it was a load balancing issue). I redirected all hashing back to GPUMax this morning and not a single problem in last 16 hours
its best just to use one instance of cgminer for the whole rig - to take the guess work out use --gpu-reorder and it will order them the same way trixx does that way if see a card sick or something you will know which one it is
