Hello
I need to make a hardware purchase and I am a little short on BTC.
I need 17 BTC - Will pay back 19 BTC Within 5-10 Days (may be even sooner)
I have thousands of dollars in recent positive transactions along with a good reputation I have been building for almost a year. If you follow this loan thread you will also see that I have taken out two loans in the past (1 for 9 BTC and one for 55 BTC) both loans were paid back with interest and on time.
If you wish you make this loan first please mark the thread and then send the 17 BTC to the following address

I will also update the thread once the loan as been received.
thank you.

explorer.devcoin.org has been dead for a while - is it going to be fixed or replaced?
Block explorers seem do die every several days. It may be necessary to automatically reboot them daily, or something. There is a remaining 1 generation share bounty for making another devcoin block explorer, when its working it also gets a 1/5 of a generation share each round. I think there is a problem with Abe. Which is what every single alternative block explorer runs off of. I need to contact John Tobey and see if he has a fix for it, the damn thing just dies every so often and theres apparently nothing you can do about it. I will restart it now.

thank you for posting that information, thats quite useful info, I have tested them all and the best for mining with 5xxxx in windows is 11.9 without a doubt
The 11.9 driver or the SDK that comes with it? Or both? Remember that you can use any combination of driver/sdk, for example you could install 12.1 and afterwards install SDK 2.5.732.1 (which comes packed with the 11.9 driver). yes I understand that, I have had best luck with 11.9 with the sdk it with, I recently tried many others including sdk 2.1 and 2.4 for windows 7 x64 radeon 5xxx I can confirm you cant get better than 11.9 with the sdk that comes with it.

thats cool
hey Unthinkingbit
I wanted to tell you this man, I was listening to Science Friday on NPR last friday and they had this scientist on and he was talking about how he wants to make science open source, he said he tried to create a wiki but he does not have time to post articles and he wishes there was something in place to pay people for posting wiki articles!!!
I tried so hard to call in - I wanted to tell them about devcoin/devtome - but I could not get connected, busy busy busy
oh well, it was crazy though everything they were saying devcoin/devtome could answer their problems...

This is tricky. It's very hard rolling back on such a big change. However I do think it was not the best idea to do it by default and the release has only been out one day. I suspect going to 2.2.0 will break far more people's configurations than going from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1, and then using the --gpu-reorder option will fix it (which is what I decided to call it). So, sorry, I've pretty much decided to make it default to off.
I am sorry to hear that but I understand. BTW. I have an interesting error. Because of BSOD when trying to update my drivers I reinstalled windows. I installed 11.12 but not SDK. Then installed SDK 2.5 from driver version 11.7. 2.1.12 works flawlessly. No reduction in hashrate, and no CPU bug. 2.2.0 bombs out when starting w/ error (and yes I should have quoted it exactly ) about OpenCL compiled 0 byte binary. It then loads the display w/ all cards listed as "off" and then promptly hard faults (Windows: cgminer.exe has encountered an error and will be closed). Haven't done any investigating because 2.1.12 works fine and after upgrading my entire Linux farm to BAMT (working flawless w/ cgminer now BTW) and reinstalling windows I am done with upgrades for a few days. Did you try other versions of the 2.5 SDK, aside from 11.7? Any performance differences? I just did a quick review of SDK versions from driver 11.6 to 12.1 and this is what I got: (In bold are the highest minors for each major version) SDK2.4 - SDK 2.4.595.10 11.6 - SDK 2.4.650.911.7 - SDK 2.5.684.213 SDK2.5 - SDK 2.5.684.213 11.8 - SDK 2.5.709.2 11.9 - SDK 2.5.732.1 11.10 - SDK 2.5.775.2 11.11 - SDK 2.5.793.1SDK2.6 - SDK 2.6.831.4 11.12 - SDK 2.6 (10.0.831.4) 12.1 - SDK 2.6 (10.0.851.4)I'm currently on 11.6 (driver & sdk 2.4.650.9) with 2x5850's but I think I'll try 12.1 with SDK 2.5.793.1 from the 11.11 driver to see how it goes! Cheers! thank you for posting that information, thats quite useful info, I have tested them all and the best for mining with 5xxxx in windows is 11.9 without a doubt

Well I had some issues where cards where automatically disabled due to overheating.
If cards do overheat, cgminer puts them on "Disabled" instead of "Dead" or something else which is correct, but that disabled/overheated card would then also be marked as green.
I'll probably put in some switch "Mark disabled cards red ?" so everyone can decide for themselves.
that would be excellent thank you just to note ... I have been using cgminer since the very first version and I have never had it mark my cards as disabled they are always either sick or dead if there is a problem, with the latest version 2.2.1 if you disable your card its marked as OFF now looking forward to next release - thanks for the great work you do!

right its frustrating to have it show red when in reality everything is fine, it should distinguish between disabled and dead, it should just show green if one of the GPUs is disabled because nothing is wrong , you purposely disabled it, if its dead it should show red. to indicate something is wrong

ocminer:
Awesome job getting this out so quickly!
I am going to send another 1 BTC Donation and I also have a couple of feature requests for you.
1) Make it so it knows the difference between a GPU that has been Disabled and one that is Dead 2) Make a Display Mode or password protect configuration and adding hosts so you can show your anubis to others
if you add these features in the next version I will make a much bigger donation this time (I dont know about anyone else but I have donated at every release)
thanks again for this project!

I would like to sell some BTC for MoneyPak - PM sent.

thanks for this release ckolivas - 1 BTC Donation Sent! can you explain more about what the problem was with the gpu reordering by default? you said "The whole GPU-reorder saga caused massive damage" which is a vague and frightening statement - and since i am using it on all five of my rigs I would love to hear the official statement of what exact damage we are talking about.. thanks again !!!!

I know it's a bit late with having made the device reorder part of an official release but I was wondering if people would prefer it to be optional in the next release instead of mandatory? I know some of you have some complex set ups with config files and device specific setting and so on that will be broken on going to 2.2.0, and I'm not against changing it back to the old behaviour and making it optional with something like --dev-reorder .
I vote that it should reorder by default but allow someone to turn it off if needed, I use Saphire Trixx to overclock my cards (19 of them!) and its nice to see them in the same order.

when using anything above intensity 9 on my 5970 w/ 11.12 drivers. The cpu usage is pegged... 9 and below cpu usage is 0% Any reason why its higher on I 10+? thanks
just curious what mhash your getting with your 5970 using 11.12 ? I messed around with several different configurations over the last couple of days for mine and the best I came up with is 11.9 w/ cgminer 2.20 - I get a nice 820 mhash - woohoo! wow nice mhash! what clocks? I get 715mh/s @ 780/300mhz vgpu @ 1.030v 850/180 - untouched voltage Win7 x64 w/ CCC 11.9 + CGM 2.2.0 Kano: thanks for a bunch of information I did not ask for! - Looks like dummies like me should just read the damn README before wasting your time! (just kidding - I already figured that out but thanks)

yeah I came here to point that out as well, just upgraded all my rigs to 2.2.0 and now no Anubis - we need a fix ocminer!
