1021  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: LargeCoin Pricing Announced; Taking Pre-Orders on: March 07, 2012, 09:18:24 PM
We will need some very specific details in order to take you seriously.

  • What is the ASIC chip set you are using?
Where are you physically located and will you allow members of the Bitcoin community to visit your place of business?
Who or what is this escrow service and if it is not someone or some business we are already familiar with - why should we trust them?

We (Bitcoin Miners) are generally in a frantic FPGA mode right now but anyone would be stupid to fork over even a $4k deposit before we have some real specifics

its not in the latest windows version, I have a linux binary from the git with it compiled in to show temps but it wasnt compiled with openGL - so I cant run the Bitforce on the same machine as GPUs which I need to do in this situation.
I originally was running a single instance of cgminer, but I changed to two instances. One for the GPUs, one for the BFL Singles. For the GPU ionstance I compiled without the bitforce configuration. For the BFL cgminer I run kano's version with --disable-gpu.

Maybe you can just run two instances until a windows binary becomes available.

yeah I might do that, I have a compiled luke-jr binary that shoes the temps right now i have the original version of cgminer running with gpu/bf and not just showing temps (it does throttle after all) but it would be nice to see the temps

thanks

it seems like I did about the same amount for my private pool as every other day (approx) thats why im asking

did I miss something?

I just got payment and its way lower that it should be (or ever has been)
whats up?

originally this was a stand alone gaming machine - that I also use for 24/7 mining it is a small part of a 10ghash operation

today I added a BitForce Single to it (no it did not come directly from BFL I purchased this from one of the people who received it on the original 1st shipment)

System Specs:

Motherboard = ASUS CrossHair Formula IV - Republic Of Gamers MB
CPU = AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.81 Ghz
RAM = OCZ Triple Channel PLATINUM OC Ram - 8GB
PSU = Cooler Master Silent PRO GOLD - 1000watt 80 Plus GOLD
CASE = Corsair Obsidian  + NZXT Fan/Temp Control LCD Panel + 7 Case Fans
COOLING= Corsair Liquid Cooling on CPU / Corsair Dual Ram Fans
GPU 1 = MSI 6990 4GB
GPU 2 = MSI 6990 4GB
FPGA = BitForce Sha256 Cryptographic Processor (Rev1)

(yeah I know its sexy thats why I had to show it off Tongue )

any idea if Bitforce temps and API stats will be included in next version?

con, kano

Have you guys considered web user interface instead of console?
You are already providing a lot of the info via APIs so the switch
from console to http/html might not be that hard to do.

The reason I got this idea is that I'm thinking about packaging it into
Windows service.  If we just had the web interface we could run
cgminer under LocalSystem account on Windows, no user logins,
just boot and go.  Same on Linux.  No need to ssh through firewalls etc.
No logmeins on Windows boxes to slow things down.

Logs, performance charts etc can be viewed remotely. Also, control
or just quick "check ins" can be done from anywhere.

Think about it.  This would make cgminer, "the miner to run".

cgminer already is "the miner to run" its far superior to most any other miner out there and for many good reasons Smiley

can anyone compile the latest cgminer from git for windows for me?

thanks!

BITFORCE??? Wtf is that? Wink
1036  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What was your cheapest miner to build? on: March 06, 2012, 10:28:15 PM
I can't go for the cheap cards found here - mine usually go kaput after a couple of months (true story; burnt a new 5870 2 days ago after 3 months 24/7)

damn man you must really run these things hot

5870s are my shit, I have almost 20 of them - some have been running for almost a year straight! - still original fans (most of them) - still clock to the same place they did when they were new! (all of them)
1037  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: I think one of my GPUs has the the dreaded electromigration. on: March 06, 2012, 10:25:45 PM
5970s are notorious for that

I have one with the same problem, I actually found a (discontinued) Accelero Xtreme 5970 some place and am waiting for it to be delivered, I hope it gives me the cooling I need to keep it mining for a few more months

I know the accelero xtreme I used on one of my 5870s that the fan died was an amazing difference

this thing can mine 24/7 clocked at 950/180 - give out 430 mhash at 42 degrees (c) with 50% fans! - amazing!

I want to know why their shipping is $34. They sent them out in USPS boxes(but didn't use USPS as the shipper), and based on the dimensions USPS flat rate large boxes could be used for a flat cost of $15.50. This does not include the online purchase price discount or if they actually implemented using the new USPS regional rate boxes which are just as large and can cost quite a bit less then the flat rates depending on where the end location is and how heavy the overall package is.

If they are willing to sudo abuse the postal service for free boxes, then they should purchase a used UPS zebra printer for $99 and then order the free thermal labels from UPS to print your USPS postage on. Not to mention, you can then use Paypal's shipping software to print in bulk to the thermal printer.

I just can't believe they would stuff $20 worth of shipping materials into the boxes.

lol, no offense but you are a cheap, cheap man arent you? Wink
1039  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA Miners and their ilk... on: March 06, 2012, 12:24:27 PM
you definitely missed a "major player"

FPGA development board "Icarus"
ngzhang

Technology: Spartan6 -LX150 -2I (or -3C)
speed (MH/s): 380
$: 569 (1) / 469$ (multiple of 30) (-5$ if you do not need the adapter, recommend for bulk orders, they are heavy)
W: 4.5 for idle / 19.5 for full load. (notice this is the on wall power, include the adapter losses)

ckvolias:

forgive me if this has already been reported but I have been super busy lately and not able to follow the thread

using latest cgminer 2.3.1-2 win7 64x

after awhile I loose temps and fan speed displays both on screen and from API - a cgminer reboot fixes the issue
