1621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why doesn't Bitcoin Stop Mining and Shorten Block times? on: March 21, 2021, 05:27:04 PM
Bitcoin was never intended for instant payments, where the confirmation is needed in a few seconds, or at the most a couple of minutes. That is why the average interval between the blocks was kept at 10 minutes by Satoshi in 2009. He could have kept the interval at 1 minute or 30 seconds, but there may be a solid logic behind selecting larger period. Anyway, those who want to use BTC for instant payments do have the option of using third party service providers such as BitPay.

^^^ It is a very packed schedule for India, although there is a possibility that the Asia Cup (which is originally scheduled for June 2021) will be postponed to next year. The selectors need to rotate the players (especially the bowlers) in order to avoid burnout. With such crowded schedule, there is a real chance that a lot of the players will face injury issues. The India tour of Sri Lanka will immediately follow the IPL 2021.
1623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rich people causes cryptocurrency ban on: March 21, 2021, 04:52:03 PM
Any one can say anything base on what you understand and what you saw in your domain because right my research concerning all these also pointing at political leaders who is trying to condemned the images of cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, so Rich people is really our problems we have into cryptocurrency, so no point for argument because it has become obvious people that so called rich people are against cryptocurrency.

It is not surprising that the rich are against cryptocurrency. They are more comfortable with other assets such as stocks and real estate, because they can manipulate these sectors through insider trading and other methods. But with a decentralized asset such as Bitcoin, this is not possible. The billionaires (apart from a very few) have missed the boat with Bitcoin investment and that explains their hatred towards this innovation.
1624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are undervalued right now? on: March 21, 2021, 12:25:00 PM
In my opinion, XRP, XTZ, EOS and BCH still have a big potential. The charts are still horyzontal, all others coins in the top 30 have pumped already...

They are not being pumped because they don't have any potential. XRP has been abandoned by most of its ordinary users after the SEC issue. Only the promoters are keeping it afloat with the help of bots. And regarding BCH, it has lost more than 50% of its value against BTC during the last few months. This coin also shows hardly any increase in adoption or acceptability. Now coming to EOS, it has lost the race to other third generation cryptocurrencies such as Cardano.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 21, 2021, 12:12:04 PM
Is Jasprit Bumrah staying away from the team due to his marriage, he skipped the final Test and the T20 series and now the ODI. Good to see many youngsters getting the opportunity.

Anyway, the selectors will be happy. Else they would be in big trouble. So many good pace bowlers to select from, and there is room only for 3-4 players. And it is going to be even tougher when Shami will be fit. Shami, Bumrah, Shardul, Natarajan, Saini and Siraj forms the first tier, from which only around 50% can be included in the squad. And Shardul have the advantage here, as he is the best batsmen among all of them.
1626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can new crypto beat Eth in the market? on: March 21, 2021, 12:01:09 PM
I don't think TRX will beat Ethereum.  If any altcoin beats Ethereum, it will be BNB. Because Binance has the most trusted, fasted network with very low transaction fee. This is a big issue right now that can beat Ethereum.

LOL.. TRX is in death bed right now and it's user base and acceptability is going down with each passing month. IMO, Cardano is one of the coins that have the capability to replace Ethereum from the #2 position. It is not going to be easy, as right now Ethereum is having almost complete monopoly as far as smart contract platforms are concerned. But a lot of users are getting fed up with the extremely high transaction fee and security issues.
1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 19, 2021, 06:36:46 AM
Just because KL Rahul is not able to bat does not mean Indian team is struggling. Every team has home advantage but it still does not mean home team will dominate the series. A lot of new players are being tested in this T20 series before the T20 worldcup which I think is a good idea before Indian selectors sit and choose the final worldcup squad.

It is not just KL Rahul. Rohit Sharma has scores of 12 and 15 so far in the T20 series. Virat Kohli was dismissed for single digits three times in his last 5 innings (twice for 0, and 1 in his last match). Shikhar Dhawan is also not in great touch recently (he was a failure even during the recent domestic tournaments - Vijay Hazare Trophy & Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy). Right now, I would say that Rishabh Pant is the only batsmen who is being consistent.
1628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 19, 2021, 06:19:29 AM
The way Yadav and Panth batted I do not think it was possible for England to restrict the Indian team score under 180. It would not have been a closed matched if the Indian spinner duo were able to utilise the pitch. Shardul Mishra for me was the star bowler of yesterday's match and not Bhuvaneshwar kumar or Hardik Pandya. In the end after losing the toss India did win the match.

Indian spinners were wayward. Washington Sundar in particular gave away so many easy pickings for the batsmen (he went for 52 runs from his 4 overs). Shardul Thakur bowled well, but he was expensive in his first spell. He managed to pick up wickets in the end, because by then the required run rate was close to 15 runs per over. The best bowlers for India were Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya. They were the ones who kept pressure on England, by bowling with a very tight line.
1629  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla Bought 1.5 B in Bitcoins on: March 18, 2021, 06:41:36 PM
Most big companies are doing that, even the publicly traded ones that is connected to Crypto like BTCS. It may not be as much as Elon bought, but enough to make it known that they know something that others do not.

If publicly traded companies are purchasing Bitcoin, then they need to reveal it during their monthly/quarterly reports. So far we have seen only a very few companies following the example set by Tesla. It is possible that the privately held companies and some of the institutional investors are accumulating BTC. But these holdings are not open to third party audit, so we can only make assumptions regarding the volume and amount.
1630  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19 effect on your country's economy!!! on: March 18, 2021, 06:29:14 PM
The effects have been very bad to the point that poverty has been returned until 20 years ago and the central bank has sold more than half of all gold reserves, leaving the country in debt for another 50 years with multilateral entities.

According to the Pew Research Center, the number of poor increased by 131 million as a result of this pandemic. On the other hand, the middle class declined by 90 million (with more than one third of that decline occurring in India). Even the high income group has seen a decline of 62 million in absolute numbers. More and more people are pushed towards poverty, and in the coming months it will be even worse.

The data from Pew Research Center can be accessed here: https://qz.com/india/1985855/more-poverty-smaller-middle-class-in-india-china-in-pandemic/

The biggest increase in the number of poor people have been reported in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Latin America seems to be somewhat unaffected. India alone has seen it's poor population increasing by a massive 75 million.
1631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 18, 2021, 05:47:12 PM
Turned out to be a very close match, but India somehow managed to pull it back in the end. England must be regretting about the unnecessary runs they gave away during the final overs of Indian innings. Hardik Pandya once again surprised everyone with his tight bowling and he picked up two important wickets (Jason Roy and Sam Curran). It is nothing short of amazing, to concede just 4 runs per over in a match where the required run rate was close to 10.
1632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 18, 2021, 05:07:57 PM
I wouldn't count England out so easily since this is a T-20 after all and they still have several power hitters remaining.

Jonny Bairstow just got out, with Rahul Chahar on his second match getting the wicket. Now Eoin Morgan has come to the crease, to give company to Ben Stokes. England needs 50 plus runs in five overs, with 6 wickets remaining. It is never going to be easy, even with all the firepower England has down the order. Also, you need to remember that Bhuvneshwar Kumar has two overs remaining and he can be very difficult to get away during the depth overs.
1633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 18, 2021, 04:39:32 PM
Looks like India will win this match, despite the fact that they batted first after losing the toss. England has lost crucial wickets at regular intervals. Their batsmen literally threw away their wickets to useless shots. And at the same time, the required run rate has shot past 11.00. Now it will take a miracle to rescue England, and as long as the Indian bowlers are doing their job tightly, I don't see any such miracle around the corner.
1634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 18, 2021, 02:03:13 PM
This is not new because Shastri and virat combo always make decision like these but Surya Kumar Yadav got a chance hope he will utilize it. Rohit sharma went to pavilion too soon now KL Rahul and Yadav is on the middle, you know already Yadav started to play destructively from the first ball itself at the rate of 250sr. Cool

I don't have anything against Suryakumar Yadav, but I am not happy with the omission of Ishan Kishan. Ideally KL Rahul should have been dropped. Look at his performance so far. He has made 7 runs from 11 balls. For heaven's sake someone tell him that he's playing in a T20 game and not a test match. Rahul is having issues against the bowling of Wood/Archer. I have already posted about this. IMO, the selection powers need to be taken away from Kohli/Damaadji combo.
1635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Opinion About Future of Bitcoin Scalability on: March 18, 2021, 01:55:54 PM
One of the aims behind the invention of Bitcoin was to sidestep the banks. So I am not in favor of the idea about "Bitcoin banknotes". If we issue Bitcoin banknotes, then the boundary between cryptocurrency and fiat currency becomes blurred. In this case someone else is storing your money, and that goes against the principle of Bitcoin. The only reliable solution is to increase the block size. But since the miners are vehemently opposed to this idea, I don't think that it is possible. Lightning Network is more like a delaying tactic. It is not effective in any way.
1636  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: March 18, 2021, 01:34:24 PM
I'm glad that pessimistic predictions of some "experts" regarding the crash of the world economy have not materialized.

Well.. global economy hasn't crashed, but I can't say that it is in really good health either. You can't solely rely on the Dow Jones Index and the other stock indices as a parameter for the economic resurgence. The stock market only deals with publicly listed companies and excludes the small and medium sized enterprises. Some of the sectors, such as tourism, hospitality and aviation are in death bed right now. 6 more months of the pandemic would spell doom for them.
1637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 18, 2021, 01:10:39 PM
England Won the toss again, lol anyone betting on England?

I believe that this time India is going to win. Very surprising to see the second change that India made. Rahul Chahar has been included in the place of Yuzvendra Chahal. I was expecting the inclusion of Suryakumar Yadav, but the decision to drop Kishan surprised me. Ishan Kishan has been kicked out of the playing XI in order to accommodate Suryakumar Yadav. This is extremely unfair from the part of the selectors. Kishan performed really well in the second match and just one failure and he is out. So what is the justification for sticking with KL Rahul despite three consecutive failures?
1638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 18, 2021, 12:51:47 PM
In papers England and West Indies has the strongest team, West Indies has Carlos Brathwaite, Jason Holder, Sunil Narine, Pollard and Russel who can turn a match with their sole performance and England has Eoin Morgan, Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Jason Roy on his day will smash any bowlers.

The reason for West Indies in the lower side of rankings is that they never play with their best team due to multiple reasons and if they come together they will be a huge challenge for the rest of the teams.

IMO, West Indies and England are the favorites, with New Zealand being another team with strong chances to win the world cup. I would have added India to the list, but their performance during the ICC tournaments is not that good, even with the presence of star players. Australia is not in good form right now and the remaining teams can't even compete properly against the top sides.
1639  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-03-15] [Reuters] India to propose cryptocurrency ban, penalising miners on: March 18, 2021, 12:30:35 PM
^^^ Indian users are not sitting idle. For the last two months, they have been involved in a massive social media campaign against the proposed ban. Also, there is another campaign in which cryptocurrency users have sent emails and letters to the parliamentarians who represent them, urging not to ban cryptocurrency. Anyway, state elections are scheduled for next month, and at least from my part I have decided to use my vote wisely.
1640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 18, 2021, 12:26:02 PM
Pollard is a hard hitter if he stays in pitch for just a couple of overs he can destroy the opponent team. With captainship on his shoulders, he is not playing any risky shot. That is why you are seeing a different pollard on the field. He did play very well in the last IPL and I do not think he will have any issues in the upcoming T20 world cup.

With players such as Pollard and Russell, West Indies should be the favorites for this year's T20 World Cup. Also, many of the West Indies players have good experience of playing in India, as they are participating in the IPL. They are the defensing champions as well, and therefore a lot of people expect them to perform well during this edition. However, as per the ICC T20 ranking, West Indies is ranked 9th.
