I never expect that they would still push this through. Bitcoin is really becoming unusable today because of the increasing number of transactions that slows the network. I just hope that they just don't make these coins for profit but for the reason that many people are burdened by the slow transaction confirmation and high fees in the bitcoin network. |

I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?

As long as the demand is high and with a growing support from the people, it won't die. Bitcoin will just continue to grow. The whole crypto world is growing and expanding and bitcoin leads the growth, if the many people would step back from bitcoin, the price would go down and another larger set of investors will step in because of the low price. It is happens every time bitcoin's price would go down, after some days it will recover and increase greater and the pump and dump continues. |

now you will see lot of comments about investing on Bitcoin, ethereum, monero, litecoin. But i will tell you my own opinion. All alts are rising, but as for me, you can invest this money to Dogecoin. Chinese like their traditions and year of doge is coming. So as for me, I would buy dogecoins for these 5k$. Already bought 100k for 250$ 3 weeks ago and now have 550$  Dogecoin does not have the capacity to increase so much because of its unlimited supply. And these coins, ethereum, bitcoin, monero and litecoin, has a great community and team of developers. Dogecoin's developer already retired and there are no latest improvement done on the coin. The increase is just a result of the growth of the crypto world that affects every coins especially those bitcoin dependet coins which also shown some growth in the past few weeks. |

If btc was more popular than usd then we would be sitting far higher than 450 dollars right now. So to answer your question, no. Not by far unfortunately.
But it is better today. Comparing the price of the two and the benefit that it gives to people, I can say that bitcoin is better and more popular to people, many people around the world uses bitcoin and those number of people is still increasing. The price is very far from the time that this thread was created and looking back, it seems so long but it just took less than two years for bitcoin to grow this big. |

Bitcoin has pass through many stage, limitations, attack and forks issue but its price keep on increasing from inception till now. At this time Last year bitcoin price was $450 but today it is $1245 that was over 180% increment in just a year. This is what we call blessing, that is making progress in the face of strong opposition!!
Yeah! Bitcoin became a great blessing for all of us who have known bitcoin in its early years. The growth continues as I write this text and I hope that it would still continue to grow and benefit the person who supports bitcoin. That sucks. It's not Bitcoin we enjoy to use because of low transaction fees. It does not work the way it used to be. And for me, $25 for every transaction you've made is totaly hurting me. People want a cheaper fees are now bound to wait for days in able to get their Bitcoin. That's very inconvenient. All you can do is to use only one-time bitcoin transfer and don't transfer to often unless it's important. Also im a bit worried about putting my fees into low amount of fee because there's a possibility that it might get stucked at the process. That's messed up if that happens.
This is the problem nowadays, the slow transaction confirmation is forcing people to set higher fees in order for a miner to accept right away the transaction on the network. The average price is getting higher and higher as the number of transactions are also increasing (higher demand). I hope something would change, many people are affected. The purpose of bitcoin to be an efficient coin for sending and receiving coins is slowly fading away. A high transaction fee really hurts. |

Although we're already half way to achieve that mark ($12.5k) , it's still a long way to go, and there might be events which might occur that will affect the rise and fall of BTC price. Imagine, in just a couple of months, it already reach $10k were people most predicted it will happen before the end of December or 1st qtr. 2018. Nowadays, its really hard to predict because of its movement which is kinda gradual. As Bitcoin continue to increase its popularity and expanded its purpose, to which more people will be influenced and accept this digital currency, it might reduce the time frame needed to reach the $25k mark.
I agree with you, the popularity, the increasing reputation and usage of bitcoin is proportional to its growth, the price moves faster and faster every month. Bitcoin's price can go up or down $1k usd in a short time unlike the gradual movement or close to stagnant price in the early years of bitcoin. The price is experiencing these instabilities also because of the rapid increase of bitcoin users, more people pump and dump their bitcoins. |

And call it a scam, so far i made 10.000 and received my money back plus extra. In crypto nothing is guaranteed right? Everyone was also laughing about bitcoin, i the beginning as well same scam shit. But in the end it turned out the other way, and i will continue on bit connect. If they can reveal the whole process on where the money goes, I would believe that they are legitimate. I know people who also say that they earned much from bitconnect but I cannot guarantee that it would not fail, their promises are unrealistic, if you do all the math you will realize. |

From my point of view, yes the government might get in the way. The increased volatility of cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin is becoming a threat to people and the whole country that has a large volume of bitcoins. The bitcoin is turning away from being a currency, it is very inefficient today to always transact with bitcoin because of the higher fees compared in the past. |
