Try it and see how it goes. I have been mining it for a while now. Here is the link for team Gridcoin: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=BBNGDQS832

Yes I suppose something like that, nicer format however.

Hey Rob, it would be cool if we can display some Boinc or WCG stats on the main site. Like projects and work done and all that. I am not sure how much work that would involve, but would be neat.

This kind of thing?

I think there was a node list somewhere on this thread. It should connect without putting nodes list I would think. Make sure the firewall is not blocking Gridcoin.

I have my gridcoin wallet open for 15mins and still 0 Active Connections. Why is that so? Any nodes that could be added?

worksize should be 256.

yea did that but still the same error..

Are you running gridcoin as admin? can u post screenshot of your guiminer scrypt window?

hi,   thanks  got that already.

followed the instructions there but it has the same outcome.

like that:

This might help:
http://www.gridcoin.us/download/guiminer_scrypt_alpha.txt

Hey Guys, I'm new to mining, especially Gridcoin Mining. I tried a lot since 2 days but not able to start mining.. it often says there is no server to connect and stuff like that.

Could anybody tell me his cgminer or guiminer-scypt settings for a R9-290 ?

If I'm using the guiminer scrypt: I put the gridcoin.conf file in the programs(x86)/Gridcoin Folder   AND  in the roaming/gridcoin  Folder. Furthermore i put the guiminer folder only in the roaming/gridcoin folder,   is that correct?

The username and password which i have to type in the guiminer script(integrated in the gridcoin qt)  is the same as in the gridcoin.conf  , right?

Would be really appreciate if someone could help me..
Thanks in Advance.

Alex

Don't pay attention to that, it is not accurate figure. It's just some crap cgminer displays for some reason.

My cgminer reports diffs over 200K. Is this different than the difficulty the block explorer is providing? Since that's around 3 it's quite a leap Cheesy

I'm used to cudaminers minimal info so this is new.

Get "msi afterburner" you will be able to see temp and fan statistics for all GPU and you can set them on each GPU separately. If you are getting hardware error means the guiminer setting are wrong. what gpu are you running?

Also get guiminer scrypt. It is the easiest way to manage several gpus.

Hi Andrew,

The no suitable long-poll is normal .don't worry about it. Just make sure HW errors is 0 for all your cards. Also difficulty has risen to almost 5 now at this time. You will need a nice rig. BTW i wanted to ask what is the average daily payout from cpu mining for the time you have been mining ?

Hi!
Thanks for the quick reply.

The CPU Mining payouts have not yet been enabled so I have no clue..but from what Rob written above, the max payout per cpu miner per day is 150GRC if the miner has enough BOINC credits.

HW errors that's the HW in CG miner right? I'm basically only getting those..they also show up as "invalid" in the internal CG Miner Statistics.
Does that mean that the mining setup I used for the GPUs is wrong?

Also I have more GPUs in the rig however only one can be seen and set/overclocked in the AMD Catalyst, the CG Miner sees both of them but if I try mining with the second one it is very slow and shuts down almost immediately. What am I doing wrong or didn't do? Smiley

Regards,
Andrew.
1691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: January 14, 2014, 10:45:54 PM
invalid or stale? show a screenshot so we can see.

.....Follow the instructions Andrew P .....

Hi Rob!

I've been away so I haven't been responding to the forums however I can see that you have been busy and managed to do a ton of work!!!
I greatly appreciate all what you are doing and wish you and everyone here all the best in the new year!!(I'm 2 weeks late I know:))

Great stuff regarding the CPU Mining!
For everyone interested here is the CPU Mining Tutorial https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1922-cpu-mining-tutorialtopic/

I'm CPU Mining, testing everything out and will report back. At this moment I'm waiting for the beacon to be sent out.
Regarding the payments..once everything is sorted out and enabled will the "outstanding owed amount" be paid or the cpu pool will start again?

Regarding GPU Mining:
I have finally managed to get my hands on a rig for Gridcoin, everything is set up and installed however I do have one issue.
I'm using the internal CG Miner, the instances are added as they should be, the gridcoin.conf has the "rpcallowip=127.0.0.1", "rpcport=9332", the user name, password etc.
The mining starts, CG Miner Statistics show the hash rate etc...however I only receive "Invalid" shares and if I show the CG Miner there's a line that says"no suitable long-poll found for http://127.0.0.1:9332"
and the difficulty is 264k(the difficulty showing in CG Miner I think shouldn't be a problem, right?)

Any help is greatly appreciated,
All the best,
Andrew.

Also a rating system would be useful, so once you complete a trade you can leave feedback.
1693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptOTC.us on: January 14, 2014, 03:21:40 AM
From what I understand so far, CryptoOTC it is a person to person exchange only. No trading engine.

I just message the dev of http://CryptOTC.us to add Gridcoin and he did. The site is still in beta so everyone can go ahead and give it a shot and see how it works.

When he says 700 mhas, I assume that is for Bitcoin sha alog, not scrypt.

150mh/s ?? Where is this coming from?

it seems some miners with more than 150M hast rates want to join GRC. check the hash rate tomorrow.

just start mining now, otherwise, it will be too late.

yes, I am sure. some big LTC miners have 700M hash rates. That is quite normal.

on the other hand, if they join with full power, it will destroy GRC. I try to persuade them not to use full power at the moment. Otherwise, I won't be able to mine anything as well.

I persuaded them that, now they are using only less than 10M hash rate. they do not want to destroy GRC.

It would not "destroy" Gridcoin even if 10gh suddenly jumped on.  The difficulty algo is responsive enough to adjust upwardly to compensate and back down if they left.  Hopefully they would be able to get the proper amount of BOINC utilization on each rig to maximize their mining.  Any size hash rate would be welcomed since it would strengthen the network and increase beneficial research.

I know them in Ripple forum and they were running boinc anyway even without GRC.

I show one of them start mining step by step on one rig, and I see the boinc utilitzation is nearly 100 when they the first time mining GRC.

If one big miner with 700M just jump in, no others can mine anymore somehow. Majority of people will lose interest in GRC I am afraid.

If he has that many rigs, I'm sure he is using Linux on them as windows is limited to 4 GPU's per computer. I don't think he can mine this coin as you can't mine with Linux yet.

he has 155 rigs with E3 CPU and different GPUs with windows installed. He is a computer seller he said it is very common that several people he knows have more than 700 M hash rates (his friends and colleagues).
1697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: January 13, 2014, 05:58:52 PM
Just make sure he joins our WCG team. Smiley

Imue,

Is this a pool that wants to hit GRC with 700mh/s or one person?
Do they realize they have to mine with the loopback and run boinc?
I believe they would need 70 rigs to successfully mine GRC and disrupt our community.

Grid

sure, they have more than 100 rigs to do that. I just showed a guy how to mine GRC. He has 100 rigs with E3 CPU and has a total hash rate of 150M.

I think he just started only on 1 rig and will add more tomorrow up to 10M.

since they are running wcg earning XRP before mining GRC. So they do not have any problem for the boinc credits. I saw the boinc utilization is nearly 100 when the first time mining GRC.

BTW, my username is lmue (LMUE), not Imue. thanks:)

I am pretty sure Gridcoin has a feature that will limit how many blocks one party can find in a row. I think it was part of the 51% attack defense.

I would say we are pretty active. Maybe we are not like dogecoin, LOL. I think most of the people in crypto community are only interested in short term gain. It is all greed and pump and dump. Very few people look for anything long term. Most of our society is structured for "I want mine now" immediate satisfaction. There is very little patience these days. Even despite all that, we are still growing @ a pretty steady pace.

If you look at what happens with most of the alt coins on the exchanges, most of them have down sloping graphs with the exception of Bitcoin and Litecoin. why? Because everyone is mining and dumping, no one really believes in the long term use or value of these coins.  Initially a coin may have lots of hype, but over the long term they are all going in the toilet.

why isn't GRC more popular that Earthcoin>?

because it doesn't have enought "marketing"...for example there wasn't any giveaway...
Yeap. We have great coin with small and inactive community. Sad but true.

Difficulty has gong up maybe that is why.

150 kh/second, poolmining=true, boinc average daily = 7000+

I was trickling in a pretty regular amount daily but it just seems to have up and died on me.
