So when i have my boinc utilization at 100%, my hashrate drops about 20%. If its around 50% then my hashrate is back to normal.
So having 100% cpu utilization takes away some hashing power.
Didn't know that and i thought maybe someone else would find this info useful.
ahhhh so i'm not the only one with this problem!!! but some people don't have this problem...just to know, what version of boinc and cgmier are you running?

150mh/s ?? Where is this coming from? it seems some miners with more than 150M hast rates want to join GRC. check the hash rate tomorrow.
just start mining now, otherwise, it will be too late.
yes, I am sure. some big LTC miners have 700M hash rates. That is quite normal. on the other hand, if they join with full power, it will destroy GRC. I try to persuade them not to use full power at the moment. Otherwise, I won't be able to mine anything as well. I persuaded them that, now they are using only less than 10M hash rate. they do not want to destroy GRC.

I did a giveaway for a good few weeks with coins I mined haha, so it's not that there was no giveaway. I decided to stop it because it wasn't getting the reaction I'd hoped for. Now I'm saving some of the coins I mine for a later date once we've gotten everything squared away with all the BOINC-related projects (BOINC mining, scrypt-sleep, etc).
Cool - all the best. Do you have a facebook. I am very interested in Gridcoin. Yea just look it up, it's the only Gridcoin there haha. Not many updates as of late though since Rob's been working on backend stuff mostly so none of the "anticipated" features have come out yet.

The difficulty algo is responsive enough to adjust upwardly to compensate and back down if they left. Hopefully they would be able to get the proper amount of BOINC utilization on each rig to maximize their mining. Any size hash rate would be welcomed since it would strengthen the network and increase beneficial research.

why isn't GRC more popular that Earthcoin>?
because it doesn't have enought "marketing"...for example there wasn't any giveaway... Yeap. We have great coin with small and inactive community. Sad but true.

I show one of them start mining step by step on one rig, and I see the boinc utilitzation is nearly 100 when they the first time mining GRC. If one big miner with 700M just jump in, no others can mine anymore somehow. Majority of people will lose interest in GRC I am afraid.

150 kh/second, poolmining=true, boinc average daily = 7000+
I was trickling in a pretty regular amount daily but it just seems to have up and died on me.
can anyone explain how poolmining=true works? maybe a good explanation can be added in the first post... the absence of pool can "reject" some new user with low hashrate... thanks!

I would say we are pretty active. Maybe we are not like dogecoin, LOL. I think most of the people in crypto community are only interested in short term gain. It is all greed and pump and dump. Very few people look for anything long term. Most of our society is structured for "I want mine now" immediate satisfaction. There is very little patience these days. Even despite all that, we are still growing @ a pretty steady pace. If you look at what happens with most of the alt coins on the exchanges, most of them have down sloping graphs with the exception of Bitcoin and Litecoin. why? Because everyone is mining and dumping, no one really believes in the long term use or value of these coins. Initially a coin may have lots of hype, but over the long term they are all going in the toilet. why isn't GRC more popular that Earthcoin>?

I am pretty sure Gridcoin has a feature that will limit how many blocks one party can find in a row. I think it was part of the 51% attack defense. 150mh/s ?? Where is this coming from? it seems some miners with more than 150M hast rates want to join GRC. check the hash rate tomorrow.

Imue,
Is this a pool that wants to hit GRC with 700mh/s or one person? Do they realize they have to mine with the loopback and run boinc? I believe they would need 70 rigs to successfully mine GRC and disrupt our community.

sure, they have more than 100 rigs to do that. I just showed a guy how to mine GRC. He has 155 rigs with E3 CPU and has a total hash rate of 150M. I think he just started only on 1 rig and will add more tomorrow up to 10M. since they are running wcg earning XRP before mining GRC. So they do not have any problem for the boinc credits. I saw the boinc utilization is nearly 100 when the first time mining GRC. BTW, my username is lmue (LMUE), not Imue. thanks:)

Ok that's odd for him to do that. I know if I was making a farm, I would be using 8 GPU's per motherboard and installing Linux.
I would also make them local servers so I can control them all with 1 computer.
