Nothing that has transpired reflects poorly on me as a developer. Quite the contrary, read other peoples responses if you would please. I am handling this situation to the very best of my ability and some would say, and have said, I am doing a good job. The fork(s) occurred at no fault of my own. There is no "forkbug". That said, I have been working very diligently, and sleeplessly mind you, the past 48+ hours to do damage control and fix the entire network while maintaining professional communication with the community here and on social media, as well as exchanges and pools. You would be hard pressed to find this level of response from a team of developers, let alone 1.


There is simply no way I can compensate you for your rentals in BTC. I do not have it to compensate you with, even if I was at liable. As far as the 7,350 EGC, how was it lost? From your rentals mining? Please explain the situation in a clear and calm manner. I understand and, believe me, share your frustration with the situation.

Please sir, if you are going to respond publicly, treat myself with the same respect I treat you and every other member of the community. If you only want to insult me, please do so by PM as I will not ignore you or anyone. I hope you do not want to continue to publicly slander me or EGC and my willingness to work with you and the rest of the community to find the best possible resolutions and my proven dedication gives you at least some reassurance.

Of course, I am sincerely sorry for yours and others losses. I will do my best to work out a realistic resolution. The important thing now is restoring EGC and securing the blockchain so that there is a coin worth anything or a foundation to compensate for losses. Please work with me, not against me, and we will get there faster.

I do understand your frustration but, if you look closely, I think you will find it is ill-placed. Using the first 16 from both screenshots, you will see that your first screenshot of the now rejected transactions averages to ~0.698 while the second screenshot averages to ~0.992



We must use 16 as the sample sizes because the second screenshot only contains 16. I also used only 3 positions to the right of the decimal for precision to speed my data input and thus a response to your concern but, the results would not very greatly had I used more precision. I think this does show that you are receiving more compensation. In fact, it is about a 50% increase in the reward on average. It has adjusted for the, what the correct chain assumes, is missing time as if the wallet was offline after it had forked.

I hope I have demonstrated clearly to you that your reward has adjusted, just like I anticipated it would. I am sorry if you felt like it had not and I had mislead you.

I do understand your disappointment and frustration of the transaction not being completed. As I am sure you now realize, this was a direct result of the forks that surfaced around the EGC network. I have personally notified all exchanges, including the two involved in your attempted transaction, of the now in effect resolution.

Myself and other community members contacted exchanges to freeze wallets as soon as forks had become obvious. I know Bittrex quickly acted and placed their EGC wallet in maintenance however, yobit has not been so quick. Unfortunately, neither was done before you tried your transaction.

The best course of action is to get bittrex on, if they are not on, the correct chain. I contacted Bill and Richie of Bittrex to let them know the EGC seednodes were on the correct fork and they could resync about many hours ago. We need to give them ample time to do so. They will also audit their internal records. If discrepancies are found, they may ask for coins to reconcile accounts. In this unfortunate event the EGC Foundation is prepared to provide the coins. Likewise, if the affected coins can not be recovered, the foundation would make every effort to replace the coins providing sufficient evidence.

The current phase of these actions is to give the exchanges time to get on the correct chain and uncover any discrepancy that may exist. I do apologize for this inconvenience. Please PM me if you feel you need your EGC from this failed transaction urgently.

All exchanges and pools have been notified. Of course I will make it known here when services are brought on the correct chain and are back online.

It does seem you have been on a fork for a while, sorry to say. Your staking will compensate you in the future. You should notice a sizable difference in your next staking reward. If you have coins you feel are missing beyond the now rejected staking rewards, please PM me.

All the seednodes are now verified on the correct and same chain. You will be able to resync properly now. Please clear your chain and resync. It is important the entire network does get on the same blockchain.

If you are unsure on how to do this, follow these steps:

1 Close your EverGreenCoin wallet.

2 Navigate to your data directory in a file manager program (i.e. Windows Explorer).....
On Windows the data directory can be found at C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\EverGreenCoin\
On Mac OS X the data directory can be found at /Users/YOUR USERNAME HERE/Library/Application Support/EverGreenCoin/
On Linux the data directory can be found at ~/.evergreencoin/ or otherwise stated, /home/YOUR USERNAME HERE/.evergreencoin

3 Delete everything BESIDES your wallet.dat file and your evergreencoin.conf file IF you have and need an evergreencoin.conf. If you do have an evergreencoin.conf file please remove any addnodes you may have previously added and only use these, now verified to be on the correct chain, nodes:


If you are running version 1.1.2 you do not need an evergreencoin.conf file because seednodes are programmed into the wallet. Your wallet knows to look for them already. If you have yet to upgrade to version 1.1.2, now would be a good time to do so and I do recommend you upgrade.

4 (optional) Download the bootstrap.zip file from http://evergreencoin.org/bootstrap.zip and extract the compressed bootstrap.dat file into this same mentioned data directory. This will bring you up to block 418815 faster than having to download the entire blockchain.

5 Launch the wallet. Do not be alarmed if it sits at the splash screen for a long time. If you opted to bootstrap, it will be importing the bootstrap. Even if you did not download the bootstrap file and wish to sync over the network, it may seem unresponsive for several minutes while it finds nodes. Be patient, allow it to run its course, and do not ctrl-alt-del kill it thinking it has froze.

EDIT: zpool looks to have been down for 7 hours. I have contacted the operator via IRC. I will reindex the block explorer's database tonight just to be safe but, its daemon does appear to be resyncing fine. It was stuck and resyncing will be the safest. I will continue to monitor and verify all systems tonight.

X15 would require a bit more power for the 4 additional sub-algorithms of hamsi, fugue, shabal, and the costly whirlpool algorithm and the hashrate would suffer.

Actually, it is funny you bring this up. When developing EverGreenCoin some of my well respected colleagues and friends said to me, "Why X15, its a weird algo? Just do X11, you will get more miners easier and it is ASIC resistant." Well, I wanted to be sure ASIC's would not invade the EverGreenCoin PoW. At the time, there were no X11 ASIC's on the market nor public mention of them coming but, I knew hardware manufactures had to be looking at the profit margins to produce such hardware given the popularity and profitability of Dash and other X11 coins. Also, I remember the same expectations being Dashed, pun intended , for Scrypt coins not so long ago. This was a goal I am happy to have achieved, bearing any other bleeding-edge ASIC developments in the next ~40 days.

That said, there is only about 108k blocks of PoW remaining. In a little over a month, such hardware would be useless for PoW mining EGC directly and I will have had completely protected the EGC PoW from ASIC's thanks to my reluctancy to follow the well-beaten X11 path. Also, PoS will better adjust and maintain the consistent reward during power outages that will surly periodically occur, especially in regions and/or times of the year with few daylight hours. For these reasons, solar staking will be much, much more consistently predictable (7%) and I would like to give that confidence to owners of the EGC solar 'miner'. Solar PoW mining would leave you guessing in regards to power outages and the irreplaceable downtime and would be greatly and unpredictably impacted by mining difficulty. 

Net hashrate has fairly consistently been over 1 GH/s. It was over 6 GH/s yesterday. Apparently we have done something to attract a lot of miners to stray from X11. Thanks to http://zpool.ca/ ASIC owners can still indirectly mine EGC and not 'own' the EGC PoW. So, in a round-about way, you could use that mentioned ASIC to gain EGC. Just not by directly mining EGC and effecting other miners directly.

Thanks for sharing the link. I myself hadn't taken much time to window shop the new X11 ASIC's. The simple fact I believe is, when the profit margins are enough for manufactures to produce X15 ASIC's, you can be sure they will hit the market. Thankfully, they should never hit EGC's PoW difficulty.

The environmentally friendly space shuttle is more long-term plan.

The next focus is picking up the solar miner project where we left off. Gabi got pulled exclusively on the strato endeavor and Clay got pulled out of the country for his job. Both of these turn of events were unanticipated. Matthew was unable to contribute due to his per-arranged schedule but that was known prior.

Gabi and Clay collectively were working on the hardware and I (Steve) was more so only on the software and the environment for the software, helping the guys get the parts for prototypes, and managing potential part lists going off of their electrical knowledge and findings with previous parts. They are stronger suited in the electrical department than myself. Along with the mentioned I most likely will be fabricating the enclosures and any bracketry needed, once the hardware is finalized and dimensions can be made, as I have reasonably ready access to materials and the equipment to do so. I also have worked with a local plastic molding/injection company that I would use if need be and I have access to powder coating. 

The plan is ready to adapt as needed to make sure the solar miner project does come through and I have consulted with solar engineers to help gain knowledgeable insight and move the project along. To be honest, the projected 2nd quarter launch of the solar miner will need things to fall into place very nicely at this point to be met. I do hope the first strato launch can soon be removed from Gabi's focus and Clay's work schedule permits his return to involvement soon as well so the roadmap is not deviated from any.

To keep you all informed about the strato project, I spoke briefly with Gabi this morning. He is trying to obtain flight clearance for the 24th of May.

Sorry they have gone unanswered as of now as Gabi has been busy with some minor personal matters and does not monitor this thread or BCT as close as I. I will ask him to find the time to respond at his earliest convenience.
