1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had a time traveling machine, then? on: April 30, 2023, 12:51:44 PM
Well, it's obvious that all of us want to go back during the time that bitcoin is priced in as centavos and, we'd buy for sure a lot of it and will just have to wait until the right time comes to sell and we'd all be millionaires or even billionaires. But, I don't want to dwell in the past anymore and I know that this is just a situation discussion but then we should be moving on and it's hard to get stuck in the past and have all of those regrets get us reminded on where are we during those great times.
1702  Economy / Economics / Re: I bought Apple stock because iPhones are garbage. on: April 30, 2023, 09:43:37 AM
Therefore, I think it will continue to be a very good business for many years to come.
It will and as it's proven by them that people will still chase and look for them of what they've established to develop from most minds and as you've said, it's about the status symbol that they've injected in to everyone's mind that if someone buys it whether it's for the tech or specs, it can't be removed that the idea of it portrays to someone who owns it will always be there. I have nothing against with people who likes it and we can't break people's happiness if they're happy with that based on the likes that they have. I like macbook because of its battery longevity which is another Apple product. If someone can afford to buy it and worked hard for it, they deserve it as what they think. But it's a no for me to get one of it and finance it for 24 months and then a new version will come out every year, what a wise business model for them.
1703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An RV vehicle, BTC and the open world to explore. on: April 29, 2023, 11:09:45 PM
Have you heard of Didi Taihuttu? He's the man that has sold everything and together with his family started living all in and bought btc from the profits they've made from selling everything even their house. They're the known "Bitcoin Family".
Living in an RV is an exciting part of life but before doing that, you should consider if you think that you like to be one and have that free life going everywhere you want. This camping van life has been trending lately although it's been done already in the past by many but wasn't on the mainstream but thanks to social media it became a thing.
1704  Economy / Economics / Re: Which do you prefer on: April 29, 2023, 09:39:26 PM
I'll choose to do both, being employed with stable job guarantees me that I'll receive something every 15 or every end of the month. That's not going to make me worry about where I should spend it. While trading is completely flexible and I can do it anytime that I want, that's why I can do both of it. But here's the thing, if the side hustle that you're working on which is trading is making more money than your stable job and it's quite stable, you really have to consider thinking of doing it full time. Since you've done it and you've considered doing it full time, there should be no regrets and just do better in your trades.
1705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin overshadowed by economic lie on: April 29, 2023, 01:16:24 PM
Well, be careful tabas.

I know that a lot of people get tempted to trade and they also get tempted to try to accelerate their returns based on volatility, including that many of us likely realize that volatility in bitcoin is inevitable, but we still cannot really have any level of confidence in short term volatility, even though we likely can have a decent amount of confidence that if we continue to accumulate bitcoin and not get too risky with our approach and do not fuck around with trying to gamble with our bitcoin, then likely we can continue to build our bitcoin holdings over time, and maybe it could still take 15 to 30 years before we really get to a financially comfortable position (and that is not even guaranteed), and our odds of getting to such financially comfortable position is better if we continue to build our stacks of satoshis.. and then maybe at some point into the future, we will be able to recognize that we have a decent amount of financial cushion and we have largely reached the goals that we have set for ourselves, whether we want to reach a kind of fuck you status or if we merely want to just be better off than we would have had been if we had not invested into bitcoin.

Accordingly, if you measure getting to fuck you status by the amount of annual income that you have built up, then you may well need to get between 20 to 30x the size of how much that you need per year in order to be able to feel comfortable in terms of living off of that amount, and frequently people will get greedy before reaching those levels or maybe not be able to manage their wealth once they have reached a full years of income within their investment portfolio.. so it can take a lot of discipline to continue to pursue and persist and to not lose your principle when you have reached 1x your annual income and in the process of trying to get to a decently high level such as 20x to 30x.. and yeah, I understand that a lot of people do not make it, and yeah, I understand that some people believe that they do not need 20x to 30x, so those kinds of opinions can vary in terms of how much is needed and how to valuate the value of your assets (which ones that you hold - hopefully including but not necessarily limited to bitcoin... and I am not referring to any need to hold shitcoins, even though some folks might choose to hold some shitcoins).
Thanks for your great reminder and concern, don't worry. I've been into the bottom rock situation of my life and that's why I'm just trying to be the better me with the hopes of having a greater future with these assets, mainly with bitcoin. But at the same time, I don't want to compromise my future and still making myself aware that unexpected things might come in terms of these decisions that I've been holding not limiting only to bitcoin but also to the performance of the other assets that I am holding and soon, may be added to my portfolio. I'm still not firm with my plans beyond 10 years but, hopefully that this bitcoin ride and journey that we all are having will set us for life and that's what I'm leaning and moving forward to everyone's success and not to panic when bad times comes again after such bull runs.
1706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin wallet address types and balance Distribution on: April 29, 2023, 10:43:39 AM
There have been these titles that whoever set it became a meme and I always felt good that everyone is starting to be aware that we shouldn't just aim for being a shrimp.  Tongue
But IMHO, there's no competition in collecting and having more bitcoins but it's more about encouragement based on how we see its growth overtime.

Burning question:
190 ,1450 Bitcoin Humpback & whales wallets can destroy the Bitcoin market?

If not, will Bitcoin ever be destroyed?
Destroyed in a manner that it will be utterly be annihilated? If it's just related to the market, they can influence and move the market temporarily but it'll not be a permanent thing.
1707  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What will a mixer do under the mentioned situation? on: April 29, 2023, 08:25:12 AM
I doubt that the authorities will contact a mixer and will instruct them to monitor bitcoins from an specific address. If so, there will be no closure from the mixers that they've taken down before and they'll just instruct them to be honeypot of most transactions and have logs of it.
We've seen this type of cooperation from the exchanges but haven't seen this happen from a mixer. And if ever that happens, that breaks the purpose of why mixers have been made.
1708  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Crisis - Improved, Worsen or still the same in your country (No Change)? on: April 29, 2023, 06:43:48 AM
In what country you're currently from? If they manage to solve the food crisis there then that means that they've planned and executed it very well to avoid the potential problem growing. It's also possible that your country has got a lot of resources and that's why it's solved eventually.
Just as where you are, prices where I'm staying have also increased and that's due to the inflation. There's also some debates about food security and potential food crisis but it's not yet solved and haven't arrived yet, I think that it will come soon but it's not just being published on the media to avoid panicking scene.
1709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It Won't Be Long. on: April 28, 2023, 11:31:33 PM
A long term investor of Bitcoin is truly having all of those traits. You get to see the past movement of bitcoin and cycles and so, you understand that it's not going to take any longer. Patience is one of the important factors in here as we invest in bitcoin, those cycles that includes the halving which is the most impactful thing that shall increase the price of bitcoin.

5. Avoid listening and reading wrong informations from Bitcoin haters.
This is actually fun when you know yourself that you can't be moved and influenced by them. However, it's better to avoid them at all cost so that no negative thinking shall be inserted into your mind because if it does, that might give you a panicking feeling whenever the price drops a lot.
1710  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which crypto wallet is better to take for a beginner? on: April 28, 2023, 08:43:33 PM
The thread; [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why? gives you the idea about the different types of wallet.
It has also mentioned a lot of wallets that you can use and that's more than enough information already where you can start. There have been suggestions already for you to get on hardware wallets but I don't think that you can ever extract that quickly since you're starting out.
1711  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do u think that the body governing need to re-strategize ? on: April 28, 2023, 05:39:05 PM
It is no longer news that cryptocurrency is not supported/accepted by governments of all countries.
That is because even those that hated bitcoin have started to be neutral and positive on the acceptance of it. Most of those that have nothing to say about it, are very much open on it and stays to be neutral.

I want to believe that the body regulating these coins needs to re-strategize for better acceptance. I will like to have your views.
Well, it's up to them on how they're going to portray the acceptance of bitcoin or any other altcoins that they think is good for their people. As long as they're truthful on it and balance just as with other investments and currencies that they're in, they should be fine and no need for any re-strategization.
1712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin overshadowed by economic lie on: April 27, 2023, 06:00:30 PM
I reckon that Bitcoin is the best asset that I've ever invested and there's no lie to that. It had even made me an investor despite of having not so good background investing. And with those people with the collaboration of media, they're portraying Bitcoin as something bad and only used by criminals or used to get paid illegal services. I think that this thought will never be gone but at least it's changing. From those people that have the idea that they'll be scammed through investing in Bitcoin, they probably have the experience of being scammed once online and that's why they don't dare to invest in Bitcoin. Anyway, results will be the noise later on and they can't ignore how Bitcoin moves as an asset that's highly volatile and they will not deny that fact once they've started to open their minds.
Yeah going by your forum registration date tabas, you have had 7 years registered in the forum and perhaps a possibility of having had gotten involved in bitcoin for nearly two full cycles - however, we know that many times, it can take a decent amount of time to build an investment position - unless you are bringing resources from the outside and reallocating some of your investment portfolio into bitcoin.
Yes, gone through with 2016 and 2020 halving and saw the cycles how it had through and done many mistakes as well. But despite that, I did some allocation into some other investments and ventures and still have the most chunk of my assets in bitcoin and vice versa. And all of that thanks to Bitcoin that has likely it's the one that has pushed me to go into learnings more about itself and what's actual investing. So, it's like one asset/investment but had taught me more about the actuality of investing, for real.

A brand new investor might take 10 years or more just to build his/her investment portfolio into something in which s/he is starting to feel as if the investment portfolio is starting to become of a substantial size that is meaningful and potentially life changing.
Exactly, I've understood this by looking at the stock investors and traders. I've got nothing against them but I've learned this from a friend of mine that's investing into stocks and had expressed that he's optimistic with it but it's a slow progress unlike what we've got with Bitcoin's volatility which I like more obviously.

3. Check the URL: Always be vigilant of any link that requires you to insert your personal information. Ensure to check the URL, because the scammer always uses websites with URLs. After checking the URL and is legit then HTTPS in the URL, if there is S at the end the website is secure for your personal information, but if not included then run away from the site.
Scammers and hackers often use the shortlinks and that's why if you're unsure what link you've received you better not click it and ignore it completely. There are also a lot of tools that you can find online to check what's the content and real URL from these link shorteners.
And for more tips about checking if a website is safe, Avast[1] has a say on this.

1715  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit to introduce mandatory KYC requirements starting May 8 on: April 27, 2023, 10:06:04 AM
I dont know how long kucoin as my current exchange will ask kyc as mandatory to its users too.
They're the only survivor on these regulations that's still allowing no kyc and allowing little limits to those customers that opt not to send docs to them. Maybe by the next bull run, the eyes of these regulators will be on them.
Yeah, as long as kucoin wont expand to other countries and keep restricting users who are living on these countries, i guess its still safe. And i don't think i will jump to another exchange once they require KYC since only new exchange do a non-kyc required nowadays.
True, most of the new exchanges are the ones that do offer non kyc because they're still new players in the market and they don't have much restrictions for all of their users. But once they gain traction and popularity, they'll be noticed and that's the start of the calvary for those users that are anti-kyc because they've signed up for that and not entirely because they're new. Even so, these are the situations that are inevitable for most and I guess those exchanges that are also advocates of being non kyc should learn a lot from kucoin.

1717  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit to introduce mandatory KYC requirements starting May 8 on: April 26, 2023, 11:38:08 PM
They're becoming popular and here goes the regulators that they can't skip an eye to these companies that are gaining traction. Well then, it's all to be expected that when its come to these exchanges, no can shall skip the regulators and even if they badly want to retain the rule of having no kyc implementation. They'll be force to do it due to what OP said, the pressure that's coming from high above - the government.

1718  Economy / Economics / Re: What class of an investor are you? on: April 26, 2023, 10:04:04 PM
How I wish that I am a wealthy trader and investor and has already made several investments scattered in different areas that are generating passive incomes. I can say that I am a research investor and that's just being responsible with my investing. I've learned a lot of mistakes in investing and even became a victim of a few scam before until I've finally realized how to determine them. Being young in investing is an advantage and you get the beauty of it. Taking risk is easier and you'll not be scared of what's ahead and possible going to happen to your one investment. It's sad to see that there really are those ponzi investors and no matter how many times they became a victim of those scams, they won't just stop.
1719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spain's most anti-privacy and anti-crypto law comes into force. on: April 26, 2023, 05:33:11 PM
I think that's not even new to the most that have been using centralized exchanges. They keep our records and transaction data whether it's been for a year or two.

Think again. There is a difference between exchanges keeping your details and only sending them only upon request, and having to report absolutely all transactions to the tax authorities.
Yes, I understand the point. IMHO, when we use exchanges especially the ones that are in niche of focusing local users/customers. Even if they don't ask for KYC but then with most transactions coming in and out, I'm thinking about those withdrawals and deposits that have been done in fiat and given the details about bank account numbers and names from an account that's not yet KYCed but then, the saved record or data that's been provided by the user through that withdrawal is still kept by the exchange.
1720  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie are wearing avatar in their accounts on: April 26, 2023, 01:10:46 PM
Just a little bit curious about this. So does that mean that since these accounts already had avatars on before the introduction of the sig. and avatar rule that the rule doesn't apply or affect their ranks already having avatar on before it's introduction. Or the forum is only waiting when the account owners must have removed their avatar themselves then can't put it on again, not untill they rise to the appropriate ranks to be able to put on avatar ?
Just asking to know!!

All the old Id's that are currently active will get all the benefits that were available 5 years ago??
Not anymore, if they've wore avatar before the update that newbies can no longer wear avatar and they've never changed or removed it then it stays there.
But then, even if they're old accounts and try to do that today, the feature of wearing avatar is no longer available to all of them. Those that you've seen have wore it and never changed/removed their avatar long time ago and that why it stays there.
