The biggest good news is, the network as a whole has increased by 18% in the last week. Good work people! But we need more nodes before CfB is happy enough to fully implement Transparent Forging. The network is the one thing clones can't clone, it is our best asset. Let's make sure we look after it and make it stronger That's # Peers, right? Nice bump, wonder why now? Is there a good explanation of the difference between a node and a peer anywhere? Try here >>> https://nxtforum.org/general/client-account-public-node-and-node-let's-stop-the-confusion!/ It is work in progress for the Nxt Glossary >>>> http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/Glossary

24% have upgraded so far, good to say the release is less than a day old. The biggest good news is, the network as a whole has increased by 18% in the last week. Good work people! Hitbtc is a newbie USD and EUR fiat gateway and is having a vote that NFD can join. They will be adding cryptos every couple of weeks. Nxt will be added next and there is NAS, NEM and NHZ already in the running. https://hitbtc.com/voteNice to see you back. Regarding the recent CoinTropololis_JustaBit scandal, EvilDave made the same point you did; my response is here. Hopefully, we can all say that the scandal is just water under the bridge now. And thanks for the HitBTC tip, even if MaWo has his doubts. I hope you'll enjoy watching NFD fly on its own - might bring back some memories of the good ol' days for Nxt. No worries There was a lot of deliberate FUD around at the time and this appeared to be an attempt to tie the scandal up with the Nxt protocol, which of course it wasn't. Just an honest mistake on your part. We should always have reservations, Hitbtc seems legit to me from what little I know. EvilDave has spoken with their reps face to face at conferences and had follow up calls. But still, it would be great to have some more details. However, Graviton and DGEX operate anonymously and, in the Nxt community at least, has a high reputation for honesty and integrity (but also for slow (manual) withdrawals but I think that is a deliberate policy to protect traders and themselves). But it takes time and track record to build this I guess.

And pay no attention to Come-from-Above. One day he is for Nxt, the one after NEM, I think Bitcoin is the best at the moment. He just likes attention and is most likely a sockpuppet. I prefer Emule

wow... I asked a question as I heard that there was DDOS - and to add more nodes- I was asking what people thought... and surprised that no one replied... please everybody stop jumping to conclusions. I bought in pretty bloody big in Dec, and I have been only keeping a very light watch over the goings on since March... not just with Nxt, but all I needed a break from mainly this forum/Nxt forum for many reasons, so I am now trying to dip my toe back in and get back up to speed- was curious about the DDOS and looking to add some extra nodes , and was loooking for some feedback/infos/thoughts. Quite simple really and kinda what I thought these forums are all about.
Thanks Shrooms, I am not pissed off, just a bit surprised that the only reply was from a troll joker who gave nothing but brain numbing pointless jibberish, I will have a read - as I also long term lurk the nxtforums, thanks.
Thanks devphp.
Nobody was here yesterday as they were at the link shrooms posted wondering the same things as you. 'Bump' is usually sufficient to get missed posts looked at. Don't worry, everybody likes your face

So.... I ask about the DDOS attacks yesterday (TWICE AT THAT) and the only person that replies is a troll? wt? something I said ? or is my face not familiar enough here? is it a clique ? I have been a long term hodlr (since December) and lurker...
It was a genuine question
thanks
Done. Please accept my deepest apologies. *goes back to real life to earn money*

Their support is not allowed to give me this information. I got forwarded to another email address and I'm still waiting for a reply. See also this discussion thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=378827.msg6946558#msg6946558Thanks for that, I wasn't aware of it.

July will be a good month:
Nxtty app Android Wallet NXT Mania Games (maybe) NRS 1.2 (probably) NXTHaus GoCoin implementation (if they are fast enough) Coinomat.com
can someone explain to me what are the details of these features? Nxtty app - messaging app? Android Wallet - mobile wallet for your phone NXT Mania Games (maybe) - pass NRS 1.2 (probably) - next version of the client including new features and changes people are looking forward NXTHaus - Nxt to fiat gateway GoCoin implementation (if they are fast enough) - payment processor helps plug Nxt into the real world Coinomat.com - pass Not sure about some, I am behind on my reading and we don't have a decent pub thread on nxt forum anymore NXTHaus ! That would be implemented in the NRS client? When would be implemented trading of BTC Doge... on the asset exchange? I think Nxthaus will be an external service provider built on top of Nxt, one of the first of many For NXt/LTC and NXT/BTC, that is the multigateway and it was moved to the mainnet a few days ago. It is very early release software so if you are quite technical, you can test it (as it is on mainnet with real Nxt etc so only use very small amounts) by going to : https://nxtforum.org/nxtservices-releases/how-to-test-multigateway-with-nxtservices-a-test-user-guide/That link is not for beginners/intermediates though (or at least it is too much for me at the moment ) A couple more releases and a nice user interface and we can all start testing Multigateway and trading with each other without exchanges. Looks very promising! Is there a launch date for? No, sorry. See above

"start testing Multigateway and trading with each other without exchanges"
Goodbye Cryptsy .. How far away is this capability for the 'average' non tech user ??
Triff ..
"When it has been tested thoroughly" Sorry, that is the standard answer when I ask so I don't bother anymore I would guess 1-2 months based on a gut feeling from reading most of that thread but don't quote me. It could be next week if James decides there have been enough tests, the code reviews come back with the 'ok' and the interface is finished (the current interface looks like a white excel sheet). Asset Exchange was in testing for a good while, 2-3 months? Good things come to those who wait

The only thing is that 99% of people still riding horses =) The Mongols have almost conquered the whole world by riding horses And now those horse riders and arrow shooters are third world because they didn't adapt. Bitcoin is Bugatti Veyron ~CfA~ In that everybody that looks at it thinks it is overpriced?

Looks like a high frequency trading exchange is on the way... I'll be announcing a new exchange in some weeks. The current throughput of the engine is 100,000 tx/sec or 360,000,000 tx/hour. This kind of performance is absolutely impossible to achieve with blockchains, even in theory. Exchanges require massive amounts of data throughput. You can look at existing exchanges and see what they do. There is a reason for this, having to do with how markets operate.
