I'm thinking...  What if the UFC is setting up Weidman to win one last fight by matching him up with Silva.  I mean Silva is a decent striker but his fight IQ is kinda low.  And Weidman has been in this game for so long to recognize how exactly to exploit Silva's deficiencies.  And with Matt Serra and Ray Longo in his corner, he could pull an upset.  Dunno...  I just have a weird feeling.

How funny it will look if this is true. Imho the biggest Weidman achievement was the moment he knocked out Anderson Silva and ended his 16 win streak, got middleweight champs belt. Moreover it was a moment when Silva was winning that fight totally and was making fun of Weidman with taunts, and boom, a left hook. Then it was a quick belt defence against Silva, where Silva broke his leg and his career was basically over. Now Weidman is facing Silva again, but the other Silva Cheesy It has started with Silva and ended with Silva.

But then again are you trying to say that Weidman is gonna win this fight since he's against a Silva?  Cheesy Cheesy  The event os also gonna be in his home state of New Jersey too.  So most of the fans in the arena will be backing him.  And the bookies have him at 3.05.  So prolly taking a small shot for him wouldn't be that bad.  He could rag doll Silva or grind him against the cage for all we know.  :/

Sounds like a decent match up as both are on similar level right now and both lost 4 times in their last 5 fights, so are desperate for a win.
I'm not very familiar with Silva, but judging by his record he's pretty aggressive with 20 out of the 23 wins by KO. I don't think it'll be a walk in the park for Weidman, but good to see the UFC still gives him fights and didn't dropped him after that horrible injury.

Silva is a decent striker but he's not really high level as an MMA fighter.  It's just two different games.  But Weidman is also washed so that prolly evens it out.  Lol.  He could eek out a win tho.

I can also say Ferrari didn't need to be this quick with their decision on Sainz - Hamilton change. I thought Ferrari would continue with Sainz in 2025 season also and then think about what they can do. Because there have been many speculations such as Sainz will be joining Audi in 2026.

But instead Ferrari wanted to take an early action like this. I agree it is a block-busting move but I'm just not sure if it was the right time to do so.  Sad

In addition to all of that Ferrari might even have missed a big opportunity to go for because of this early move. You know there is a chance for Verstappen to leave Red Bull earlier than the expectations also.

Yeah I kinda agree but then again if your second driver's contract expires at the end of 2024 and then you hear the news that a better, famous driver is also available at the end of 2024, what should Ferrari do?  It was a no brainer call to swipe Hamilton real quick before another team gets him.  And it's also gonna be the same when Horner will be available.  They'll poach him so fast, no other team will be able to interview him.  And as I already said, where Horner goes Newey goes.  Ferrari will have a great time with Horner, Newey and Hamilton.  It will be a great time to be a Ferrari fan too.

Edit:  Typos.

184  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 25, 2024, 12:56:52 PM
To be honest by looking at your chart on monthly candles kind of makes me nervous hahaha why it is because there is no single correction for a 6 month strike  Shocked Tho I still like it when Bitcoin reaches its new all-time high but my heart is now at fast-paced hahaha maybe at the moment the best things is to sell some of profit but not all and make those profit to buy more when there is a correction after it.

After almost 2 year hit by the bear market now the bull is trying to fight for its legacy. Long Live Bitcoin  Cheesy

Yeah the monthly chart tends to look that way.  But it isn't true that BTC isn't having any corrections tho.  Switch to weekly and you'll see some and there's a lot more at the daily chart.  We're having one correction right now come to think about it.  Lol.  But I get what you're saying, it does look scary.

We prolly see our fears happen on April before the halving then up only?  What do you guys think?  I feel like it has to go down before it could go back up.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: March 25, 2024, 12:45:13 PM
Sainz is still the only driver to win besides Max Verstappen and Perez after so many races that I forgot the number to be honest and this proves that Carlos is indeed an F1 gem that should find a GOOD TEAM asap for 2025 season because the hunger he will have for podiums this year will be top tier as long as his car and race strategist will allow him to because after all Charles is the Nr1 driver.

Charles is Ferrari's current poster boy. They will give that man the number 1 seat over Sainz who's continuously improving despite being shadowed by Charles at most times. He's a great driver that can go very aggressive against better teams, and I believe he will do even more if he's in a team with a better car as the number 1 driver.

There aren't a lot of many good teams with a good car that is better than Ferrari right now, and it'll be tough for them to choose Sainz over their boys even. I just kinda wish that the red guys will see Sainz more than a 2nd driver, as he's been very consistent for quite some time now while Leclerc is always struggling to get better placement not until Sainz comes in for help.

Uh no...  It's just the start of the season so let's stop the nonsense.  And if you look at the drivers' standings since Sainz transferred to Ferrari, Leclerc has out pointed Sainz two out of three seasons.  So saying that Ferrari give seat one to Sainz is lol and it would def be a cause for tension within the team.  As if there isn't enough tension already with Sainz given the boot in favor of Hamilton.  :/

Anyway can't wait for the next race in Suzuka.  That one is going to be good.

The only match up I don't like here is Silva vs Weidman.  Why are they doing this to Weidman.  It's gonna be so much pressure for the guy.  I think he's gonna retire after this one.  :/

Some nice match ups for the next couple of groups coming tomorrow and on Tuesday...  Best vs Light is close to a coin flip.  But I think Light at 1.80 is a good price since he plays Terran and that in itself is already and advantage.  A parlay with Rush and Snow at 2.05 could also be a good idea.  These guys are possible future champs in the ASL.  Not sure why Snow is listed at the bottom of Group D this season tho.

The match I'll avoid is Sharp vs Mind.  Both are inconsistent and the match is TvT.  Same race matches in SC/BW tend to be unpredictable esp ZvZ.
188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: March 24, 2024, 01:21:48 PM
We finally watched a different race!  Grin  Verstappen had a mechanical failure in the first laps of the race and said goodbye early. His rear brake exploded like a bomb and his car caught fire after that. This completely changed the race really. Sainz had a big opportunity ahead of him and used it in a great way by winning the race.  Smiley

This was a wonderful weekend for Ferrari as they captured top 2 positions. It was the same for McLaren also. Norris was the last member of podium and Piastri was right behind.

After undergoing a surgery this was the best return scenario for Sainz. Huge congrats to him.

Yeah...  Leclerc should've done better at quali imho.  It would've been his race to win.  But over all good results for Ferrari and McLaren.  Bad ones for Red Bull and Mercedes.  Cheesy  Are we seeing a premonition of what's to come in the next couple of years?  Grin  One thing's for sure...  Without Horner and Newey, Red Bull won't be the same team.

Here are the results.

^  And the guy just got himself permanently banned from the UFC.  As a marketing strategy I think the PFL Bellator group should sign him up.  His new found notoriety for biting opponents could make him a draw among the crowd.  Grin

As for the rest of the event, the guys to look out for are Talbott and and Zalal.  Talbott could be next level and Zalal looks like he improved from his time away from the UFC.

Yeah I thought so...  But I received an airdrop that's slightly higher than my total amount of DYM staked.  And it's not really much now since as already said, I unstaked most of it and I'm prolly going to either stake more PYTH or participate in the Pike presale.  But dunno yet.  I could also just buy more TIA with it and stake more.  That's prolly the safest and best play to got more airdrop eligibility from the modular meta.  Looks like it's slowing down rn tho.

And what do you guys think of IO.net?  I went to their discord and it's just doesn't have a good vibe, lots of bots.  The airdrop could still be good tho like Wormhole.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: March 23, 2024, 12:27:08 PM
Here is the starting grid for top 10 tomorrow:

Perez was actually going to start from the 3rd place however he got a 3-place grid penalty for impeding another driver during qualifying. This is bad news for Red Bull but I still believe in Perez to climb to the 2nd place to finish right behind Verstappen. Perez has started this season really solid. He looks like he is able to concentrate on his driving now.

Sainz has come back really great as he is starting right behind Verstappen.  Smiley  I wonder whether we will see a nice attack against Verstappen at the start. Maybe you will say "Where is Hamilton?". He did a bad work in Q2 and he is starting in the 11th place. I hope to see a different winner this time but there isn't much hope I guess unless Verstappen has a problem with the car.

Damn, I totally forgot about quali.  :/  And never mind Hamilton wtf happened to Leclerc?  I was expecting him at second on the grid with Sainz at third to cover his tail.  But it looks like even he cannot over Sainz's tail.  Cheesy  First couple of laps are gonna be crucial.  Good thing he has Norris in front of him and not like somebody like Alonso or Perez or even Hamilton.

And Stroll out qualified Alonso?  Cheesy  Nice!  Cheesy Cheesy

Here's the quali highlight vid for the guys who missed it like me.  Lol.  The grid is something somewhat unexpected, so it should be a good race.

I think McGregor is done.
He was done long time ago when Khabib finished him  Grin
UFC and Dana kept him only as UFC mascot and I think they know the truth, new fight for him will be lost together with his reputation.
He can continue making movies now, or try fighting in lower quality competitions.

Guys make sure to place your predictions for upcoming UFC Multi Master Challenge and win FREE bets from Sportsbet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5489391.0

Mmm nah, not really.  After Khabib there was still a wide window that McGregor could come back and still win the 155 belt after Khabib retired.  It was at that time when he broke his leg vs Poirier that really got him on in the deep end with the drink and prolly also the drugs.  There could be no coming back after that esp with how old he is right now.

Anyway, here are weigh in the results.

Amanda Ribas (125.5) vs Rose Namajunas (125.5)
Justin Tafa (264.5) vs Karl Williams (246.5)
Edmen Shahbazyan (186) vs AJ Dobson (185.5)
Payton Talbott (135.5) vs Cameron Saaiman (135)
Billy Quarantillo (145.5) vs Youssef Zalal (146)
Fernando Padilla (145) vs Luis Pajuelo (145)
Kurt Holobaugh (155.5) vs Trey Ogden (155.5)
Ricardo Ramos (145.5) vs Julian Erosa (146)
Miles Johns (136) vs Cody Gibson (135.5)
Jarno Errens (144.5) vs Steven Nguyen (145)
Montserrat Rendon (135) vs Darya Zheleznyakova (135.5)

^  I think McGregor is done.  His last chance of redeeming himself was in the Ultimate Fighter.  I didn't really watch or care about it but somebody itt said McGregor's fighters were so bad that it ended with both of Chandler's fighters meeting in the finals or something...  Not really sure what exactly went on but yeah...  He made a mess out of it.

And McGregor to fight Poirier?  Nah man.  Did you see what Poirier did to Saint Denis a couple of events ago?  McGregor would get himself KO'd in there.

As for Chandler, I feel sorry for the guy.  He was promised to fight McGregor after the Ultimate Fighter but no.  I don't think McGregor is interested.

If you guys are paying close attention to the memecoin market, it looks like the landscape has changed and it has become a looot more degen than the previous bull runs.  It's like some guy makes a new one from scratch and it just pumps 100x in a couple of weeks making early buyers a lot of dough in the process.  And these things have gotten so absurd.  Just today somebody showed me a 'Jew did 911' memecoin and another one with a swastika as a logo and they're both up around 50x since.  Cheesy Cheesy

There was also another one called *Nword* Pikachu.  I mean who tf are buying these and making them moon?  :/

^  Same here, I got me a little bag of DYM staked now after I unstaked them before March 9 as I was discouraged by the PA and now the devs don't seem to care what happens after when they went live on mainnet.  I got some NIM tho,  but not much.  Lol.

Probably no one could have predicted that BNB Chain would also distribute a retrospective airdrop) However, check your wallets - https://dappbay.bnbchain.org/campaign/bnb-chain-airdrop-alliance-program?ref=bnbchain.ghost.io Despite the fact that I did not do anything specifically to receive this airdrop, nevertheless, I have several eligible wallets. Read more here - https://www.bnbchain.org/en/blog/introducing-bnb-chains-airdrop-alliance-program

Oh cool.  I might have a couple of old wallets eligible for this during the time when everyone was looking for the next Axie.  Turned out most of those onchain games in BSC were weak attempts to make an actual game and were just there because it was the easiest thing to make BNB.  Cheesy  I feel robbed tbh.  And that was the time I was starting to lose a lot.

Edit:  Do any of you guys know about this project called Pike Finance?  I've been hearing about their PIU token a lot lately and was wondering what the hype is all about.  :/

It seems that Sainz will participate in the race but that he probably won't be at 100% fitness.

I believe that the doctors must be 100% sure to give the OK to the pilot as he runs with enormous efforts under centrifugal force.
rain expected for Friday's practice

About Newey, he will leave if Horner will leave it is a known thing.

I hope Sainz could race.  Bearman couldn't defend Leclerc's rear like Sainz can imho.  Ferrari will need to make Leclerc finish second at almost every race to keep the driver's championship close then maybe car development improves mid season.  That's when we'll see an interesting season.  As you guys may have already noticed that I'm mostly an RBR fan but the seasons after Verstappen won his first championship have been sooo boring I find myself rooting for Leclerc and Ferrari.  Cheesy Cheesy

^  I want to so Gaethje go for it one more time before he retires tbh.  Pretty sure winning against Makhachev is a long shot but it prolly won't be that much of a long shot...  Dunno, maybe.  Lol.

Oof...  The UFC got away cheap for just 335m USD.

Somehow I am sure that those 335m were calculated as somehow a total for each and every fighter. So in the end from those 335m, such underpaid fighters like Bones, McGregor and other highly paid guys will take a part Cheesy So the guys who earn 10+10, will get "take those 500 bucks extra and shut the f up" present from Santa Dana Clause.

Does anyone one knows what is the situation with doping testing right now in UFC? USADA is no more. So who test them now? Are they even getting tested? Last thing Ive heard that Dana promised to present new testing company in January, but since then there is silence.

The UFC is working with another company as far as testing goes.  But I don't really care about all that.  If it were up to me, I think PED's should be regulated and fighters be allowed to use them to reach peak performance without abusing them.  I just wanna see these guys throw leather at their best form.

@fwxfinance Almost the same as the Aevo project but this time on the Avalanche AVAX network by trading futures the more volume the greater the opportunity for airdrops....

The snapshot is said to be on April 30 and the rewards will be distributed on May 7, 2024.
Speculation now is will it match Aevo? Broadly speaking, Aevo gives a pretty good reward after the airdrop is distributed but who knows @fwxfinance gives a good feasibility.

Source: https://twitter.com/fwxfinance/status/1768265272790843392

Could be a good one.  It wouldn't hurt to bridge over and put some volume in Avalanche to get a chance at their airdrop.  But if I was still looking for another chain to put some volume in, I'd rather do it in Base.  I think the chain is massively under farmed compared to the other chains like ZK Sync.  And with how Polyhedra's airdrop came about, I think it's a hint that we should be more selective on where we spend our time and where to put the most volume.

So yeah...  Base.  I'm also starting to think that Layer Zero will end up like Polyhedra.  :/

This source named Sportskeeda claims that Aramco wants to buy Aston Martin and bring Max Verstappen - Adrian Newey both to play bigger to achieve championships.  Smiley

As you know Aramco is a Saudi Arabian oil and natural gas company. They want to do more in F1 than just sponsoring Aston Martin. If this deal really comes true then I would be really excited about what comes next.  Smiley

There is no such thing like Verstappen wouldn't leave Red Bull in the near future. As long as Aston Martin offers better conditions to him for the future I think Verstappen would seriously think of joining them.

I don't think Newey would work for another team principal at this point of his career except one guy...  Christian Horner.  Both of them go way back and I think after Newey's Red Bull stint if there's not gonna be a Ferrari stint with Horner, then he'll prolly just retire and call it a career.

And Newey is at the point of his life that he needs to go higher, not lower.  And that's working with Ferrari, not with oiler money infused Aston Martin.
