I'm pretty sure the main event at 289 with women on will be bloodier and more exciting than what we just had with KKF vs Albazi.  It was really a bit boring and had no interest of watching it again.  Lol.  I'm also looking at Curtis and Oliveira for two slight underdog sports that could win.

Anyway here's the countdown vid and the vlog for the event.

OCEAN...   What do you guys think of this?  Strong pump to .60 and beyond or is it just another fake out?  You guys already know I have a piece of this as I think one should never fade a pump that has attacked resistance more than a couple of times then restesting with the possibility of flipping it into support.

Anyway if .40 does become support, I think that could be another good spot.

^  Here we go...  Support line is being tested right now and so far so good.  But I'm a bit worried.  Lol.  Most of the crypto market is showing strength except for a few coins and OCEAN is one of those coins showing weakness.  We'll see how it goes this week.

The Hype of AI coins is remind me of the craze for Metaverse coins from last year. Take a look at all the Metaverse tokens right now. I hope AI coins can perform better in the future and such coin like GRT is worth to invest imo.

It's not that big of a hype yet in crypto tho.  The overall narrative surrounding AI, yes, the hype is huge.  But it hasn't really translated in huge price action yet.  And who knows, OCEAN might not even pump as high as expected.  Current level could also be good to short with a very tight stop loss imo.

Not financial advice.

I said it before, Mercedes here have a very nice fit in their car, but in the other hand i dont fully trusted them in my picks. I dont expect that qualy and also dont expect AM being bad in this race.

Ferrari..... they only walk backwards.

Ssshhh.  Don't say it out.  Lol.  Especially not in the other F1 thread.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Yeah Hamilton and Russell did pretty well and honestly a little bit surprised.  Imwas expecting two drivers to give us a show, Sainz and Alonso since it was their home race.  But any driver can't do anything else if their cars aren't up to the task.

The race was a bit better than the last one tho I was kinda bored with it.

Kai got robbed in my opinion. I don't even think it was close, except for the one submission attempt Albazi didn't do a awful lot. He got massively outstruck, and failed to make his takedowns for much of the fight. I had a decent night of predictions, but I was let down by that flash KO of Jamie. That was probably one of my more confident picks of the night too. To do that on your debut though, that's quite impressive. I'm annoyed at Jamie though, he gets way too confident, and forgets to defend.

All it came down to the 4th round of the fight in my opinion. To be more specific, the scoring of the fourth round. Two of the judges gave the fourth round to Kai Kara France, but the other gave the round to Amir Albazi.

I honestly do not think that this fourth round was close and this really should have gone the way of kai kara France. But at the same time, I wouldn't say that Amir Albaazi was absolutely outstruck in the fight. The fight was actually close. The scoring was also good except for the fourth round from that one specific judge. The second round could have also gone either way as well.

Jamie should have fought more intelligently. It was his fault that he got knocked out. And he does get a little overconfident sometimes during the fight even.

Yup and that one specific judge who gave R4 to Albazi is...  Chris Lee.  And it's not the first time he's done something like this.  :/  All in all, welcome bad judging in MMA.

But then again yeah, the fight was really close that one couldn't say that it was a pure robbery.  If anything KKF should've done more to lock up the win.  Looks like the City Kickboxing guys besides Adesanya and Volk are going in some sort of rut.

What do you guys think of Alonso to win at 11?  Aston Martin def has a chance of winning at least one race this season and why not Alonso's home race?  Wink

-snip-

I'm pretty sure that Alonso will be in the top 5 in this race or even the top 3, judging from his performance in FP2 which managed to rank second behind Verstappen. If Alonso can improve his performance and Aston Martin can come up with a good strategy, I think Alonso will be able to give a good result in this Spanish race.

With the Aston Martin cars looking good as of late, podium finishes are to be expected with prolly a couple of wins.  That's I was asking if there was a race Alonso 'could win', will it be his home race where he'll prolly be a little more motivated.

And here's an interesting bit...  It rained at some point during FP3 with possibility of rain during quali.  I think it gives Alonso a bit more of a chance since he's known to be fast on wet tracks.

Nearly missed that Arlovski is fighting again Cheesy Guy is 44 and still in the clip. What will that guy get tired and retire once and for all Cheesy I think he had enough fights in his life. Fought almost every top and famous heavyweight. If he wins that fight, he will on first place among UFC fighters with most wins in history, as well as higher number of wins among heavyweights. And isnt he the most aged UFC fighter right now ?

It's more like I find it harder to trust Mayes than Arlovski.  Mayes just isn't that good, with suspect cardio and with questionable fight IQ.

Anyway good luck to everybody's picks!  And it sucks that Jared Gordon had to pull out from the match vs Jim Miller. Bet voided...  Really had a strong hunch Miller finishes Gordon.  :/

Here are the weigh results.  No misses.

Kai Kara-France (125.5) vs Amir Albazi (126)

Here's my super early predictions, with no research whatsoever. Please, don't follow my predictions, ever Cheesy.

Amir Albazi
Alex Caceres
Jim Miller
Tim Elliott
Karine Silva
Jamie Mullarkey
Elizeu Zaleski
John Castañeda
Andrei Arlovski
Johnny Munoz Jr.
Elise Reed
Luan Lacerda
Maxim Grishin

These are particularly awful picks. I'm going for a lot of the underdog, older fighters here. So, take that as you will.

One of these days we're gonna win a full event parlay and then they'll take us a lot more seriously.  Cheesy  A guy can dream, right?
We'll be too busy sitting on the beach with a few Pina Colada's. I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. I have had some decent wins though, but they definitely don't come around very often, and are often offset by the many losses. We all know that familiar feeling don't we.

Love the Arlovski and the Jim Miller picks.  I'd add Frey, Nurmagomedov and Muin Gafurov in my list of underdogs that could win, tho they're really underdogs as the lines are close.

Strong feeling that Jim Miller could KO Gordon in this spot.  The head butt he got from Green was really bad and here he is just a couple of months after the incident.  Lol.  In another spot if Castaneda's cardio is suspect.  Gafurov could finish it in R3.
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: AI Coins Speculation on: June 01, 2023, 03:46:48 PM
While a lot of folks are waiting for DeFi summer, NFT summer, memecoin summer...  It could be AI summer.
But you need an upward wave, NFT summer came at a time when prices were going up and people didn't know anything, they were attracted to art and the story of someone buying a painting from you for millions of dollars was a crazy idea.

DeFi summer itself was associated when there were no high returns on loans and it was easy to get those loans. Imagine that in the year 2020 people were getting checks in their homes, while they were locked at home and did not know how to use them.

memecoin summer as well musk tweets.

AI summer would have happened if it were when they were free money and quick profits, but we need to wait until the price of bitcoin increases and an upward wave comes, will these currencies hold up until that wave comes?

Yup sure...  Not denying BTC's influence over the rest of crypto.  Just saying that with all the AI craze going on, it's most likely we'll see AI summer this time around, meaning the AI stuff will outperform the rest of the market.  But we'll see what happens around July - August.

But that's just me as I have already placed my bets on OCEAN, FET and AGIX.  So I'll admit I'm a little biased here.  Lol.

Again, not financial advice.
1114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 01, 2023, 02:23:07 PM
Logan Paul is a very decent wrestler. I'd probably welcome seeing him wrestle some of the MMA guys, maybe without the striking element, since that's really been his down fall. He doesn't look like someone who particularly enjoyed punching someone in his boxing matches. Although, he gave Floyd a fair go, I'll give him that.

Looking forward to it.  I think there's just a few of us brave souls itt who's willing to get ridiculed for laying out our predictions even if they turn out to be wrong.  Lol.  I know I've made a lot of mistakes.  So I'm sorry if you guys tailed.  I'm not a sharp sports bettor.  I'm just a degen like most of you guys.  Cheesy
Oh yeah, I think I've said before I do it for fun, and I always do stupidly long accumulators which never come in. I don't even consider myself to be half decent at it either. A lot of the time, whoever I go for, the opposite happens, at least it feels like that sometimes Cheesy.

One of these days we're gonna win a full event parlay and then they'll take us a lot more seriously.  Cheesy  A guy can dream, right?

Anyway nobody made our little old event roster, so I guess I'm back to doing it.  These are actually fun for me.  I remember when I used to have a different thread for each event.  Lol.  Seemed like a better way to do it at the time.

Date:  Saturday, June 3
Main Card (PPV):  9:00pm EST

Venue:  UFC Apex, Las Vegas, Nevada

Main Card (ESPN/ESPN+)
Flyweight:  Kai Kara-France vs Amir Albazi
Featherweight:  Alex Caceres vs Daniel Pineda
Lightweight:  Jim Miller vs Jared Gordon
Flyweight:  Tim Elliott vs Victor Altamirano
Women's Flyweight:  Karine Silva vs Ketlen Souza
Welterweight:  Abubakar Nurmagomedov vs Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos

Preliminary Card (ESPN/ESPN+)

Bantamweight:  Da'Mon Blackshear vs Luan Lacerda
Light Heavyweight:  Philipe Lins vs Maxim Grishin

Edit:  And the line is split 50 - 50 for KKF and Albazi.  I think KKF opened at around 2.35 at Stake or something...  A decent dog spot for the guys who jumped in early.
1115  Economy / Speculation / BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 01, 2023, 02:10:14 PM
May ended down around 7% which isn't really that bad imo.  I was expecting worse as you guys know how the saying goes...  Sell in May and go away.  Lol.  There were some sell offs here and there but nothing too serious like a huge sell down after a leading exchange getting hacked or their founders stealing from their own users, etc..

Overall not a bad month...  For a red month that is.

So if sell in May then June = Moon?  Grin  What do you guys think?

1116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: AI Coins Speculation on: May 31, 2023, 02:17:34 PM
AI describes a use case of experiments that have been taught using learning models and then using the current processing capabilities of your computer to improve the quality of the available results. Therefore, the bookchain has nothing to do with this definition. In fact, we can consider these cryptocurrencies as scam due to the fact that they depend on false promises that they have a place in the future because of the use Actual AI, not to mention if this really existed and these coins were linked to AI projects.
We can discuss how AI projects develop cryptocurrencies and not about cryptocurrencies.

Again that's not the point.  It's about finding the latest narrative in crypto, look at their price action and trading them to increase our bankrolls.  And AI is gonna be a huge thing with crypto the perfect spawning pool for these start ups to acquire some money to jump start their projects.  And since there's gonna be a looot of hype on AI, it's going to make another echo bubble.  Question is when and how big could the bubble get.  Wink

While a lot of folks are waiting for DeFi summer, NFT summer, memecoin summer...  It could be AI summer.

As always not financial advice.
1117  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for May on: May 31, 2023, 02:08:09 PM
^  Yup.  It has to go down at some point...  And it's a good thing.  There's a lot more money in the sidelines waiting to go in but hasn't had the right conditions to dive in yet.

Like what I said in a post prior, could go down around 24k - 25k, even deviate lower to 23k, before break out above 31k.

Something like this.  Forgive my squiggly line, I suck at this...  Lol.

This would certainly be the optimistic scenario if $26K / 200 WMA doesn't hold as support that price recently bounced from. I'm still more of a believer of $23K acting as support (which is where I have buy orders), simply because there is very little volume around $25K compared to the accumulation that occurred at $23K. Also the theory that if price makes a new low it will more more than $1K from recent low.

That said, price is currently attempting to reclaim the 200 MA on the 4hr that has been flattening out in recent days. It failed to reclaim this MA last month but potentially it will have more chance after a month more of consolidation, as well as a notable bounce from the 200 WMA last week. While price to me remains relatively neutral on shorter-term time-frames, the Monthly candle is currently looking a bit more bullish a wick to the downside that is longer than the candle body of only -5%. While this could well still signal further selling next month, it otherwise is so far confirming that there are buyers at these lower levels.

Removing all indicators and leaving just the price, from optics alone BTC daily chart looks like it's losing momentum.  The weekly chart looks fine and looks like it's accumulating.  But then again there's a fine line between accumulation and distribution.  But as I wanna be bullish, let's just assume it's accumulation for now.  Grin  As for the monthly chart dunno...  It kinda looks worse than the weekly but if ever it drops another month, let's hope 24k - 25k holds.  Would hate to see it flip and go further down to a lower range.

Anyway new thread coming...  No poll in mind yet, I need new ideas for a fun poll.  Please drop your suggestions.  Thanks.  Smiley

At Superbru, I had Perez on pole position, but I can forget about that now because of the crash. But it's still exciting, so it's more likely to be Verstappen or Leclerc. But we're moving on now, Hamilton is also out at the moment.

A flying lap!

Thinking about this pic...  Didn't it expose Red Bull's floor and now the other teams could possibly copy it?  Been seeing some people laugh about it online and saying that it's possible that the other teams, *cough cough Aston Martin*, could copy it and be more competitive vs Red Bull.  I really didn't take them seriously but then again, what if?

Ferrari and Mercedes could do it too.  I guess we'll after a couple of races.  It could make some markets more interesting as Hamilton, Russel, Leclerc and Sainz all have better chances for a podium finish which might not be reflected by the odds.

What do you guys think?

I think that is intentional from the photographer  Grin. He must have been an Aston Martin or Leclerc fan and as such he thought to expose the Redbull bottom so the other teams can have a clearer view about it and start to improve or at least copy some of it  Grin. Most other teams though are preparing massive upgrades,Andrea Stella, head of technical division at McLaren said that in a couple of races max at Silverston they will present a car that will be completely new compared to the car they have now.So has promised Mercedes so we can expect them and also Ferrari which can be shown the improvements in this very race in Barcelona.

Hmmm...  I wonder what their car's floor will look like.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Horner should go from garage to garage and go for a look see.  Lolol.

Anyway, here's a fun fact this season...  Alonso has more podium finishes than Perez at 5 - 4.  Man I keep thinking if Vettel gave it one more year it would be him up there.  And would prolly do a tad better because he's so good in qualifying in a decent enough car.  :/

And yes, Vettel fan boy here and am not ashaaamed.  Lol.

I might be able to get some predictions out for this weekends card, actually. I haven't had a whole lot of time to watch the tape of the fighters, so a lot of the predictions will likely be a shot in the dark. Maybe, with one of my smallest accumulators in a while. Looking to put 2-4 fights on there at the moment.

I think the Nurmagomedov fight, has the potential to catch a lot of those that do bet on the fight in favour of him, simply because of his name. I think it'll be a close fight, and for me personally isn't going to be one of the fights I put on my betting slip.

Cheesy

Free fight for Albazi.  And mind you that's Fig's brother not the real Fig.  Lol.

It's not a question of durability.  It's a question of Nate Diaz's motivation in taking this match up.  I watched their press conference, the one with Diaz leaving the whole thing.  Lol.  From the looks of it the guy is disinterested and just wants to pick up some boxing money and leave.  So he'll prolly just look for the first opportunity to quit.  Dunno... But fk me if it's all mind games and Diaz comes out really ripped and ready to go to war for all 8 rounds.  Cheesy

Dropping a free fight vid to watch before the event...  Enjoy.

For sure Nate Diaz isn't really interested in defeating Jake Paul (but if he is frustrated about him that is another story) but Money is more important for Nate Diaz and the number of sales should skyrocket knowing this is Nate Diaz and fairly there is a lot of engagement for the PPV or ticket sale when you say Nate Diaz is fighting, just like Connor McGregor Nate Diaz is one of the few UFC stars that has a huge engagement on PPV,

Yeah I think even if Diaz loses, he still wins.  He'll be going home with a fatter bank account.  Lol.  I hope the event does well for the both Jake Paul and Diaz.
1120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / AI Coins Speculation on: May 30, 2023, 01:35:51 PM
AI seems to be all the rage everywhere lately with most of the people online going crazy over the ChatGPT stuff.  In crypto, I noticed three AI coins that have been trending up more than the rest of the market...  FET, AGIX and OCEAN.  Not telling you to buy or anything as they're already up by around 10% in a day.  Grin

I missed all three moves tbh but looking to get some if they go down a bit.

Edit:  Will post charts later if I can.

Edit:  Typos.
