1162  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for May on: May 19, 2023, 01:46:58 PM
Long bottom wicks during May 12, 17 and 18 could be telling us that some whales are trying to protect the 26k - 27k range.  We can't really be sure if they could but if they do, it could bring more bullishness back to the market and force the shorts to be flushed out and close out their trades causing even more positive price action.

The question is how long could 26k - 27k be held?  Pretty sure there are whales who are also taking the other side of the trade.
1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT Speculation on: May 19, 2023, 01:27:02 PM
so much NFT actually losing their value. heck even those NFT holds by the so called celebrities back then which make some headline in many media are now worth a dime, i'd say NFT art based are done for.
right now i see NFT that still have some utility like used for in game items and also key for like airdrops programs are the one that still have active trading volume the rest just tanks.

for anyone that wanna invest in NFT just rethink it twice, you could very well say you're burning your money away if you're investing in some random NFT that got no liquid whatsoever.
investing in meme coin is far better option at this point at least you got billions liquidity ready for you to dump your coin.

They are...  But I think at least for now.  As we've seen before, crypto trading is a rotation game a lot of the time.  It went from BTC to ETH to other L1's, to decent alts, to micro caps aka alt szn then it went to the most ridiculous sh*t like memecoins.  After all that it went to NFT's...

Well we've just had our memecoin craze.  So I guess we'll be seeing NFT szn next?  Dunno...  I think maybe but not financial advice.
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Assess a Memecoin and Not Get Scammed ;) on: May 19, 2023, 01:16:45 PM
There's no guarantee no matter how that one cannot get scamm with these memecoins becau they are many, we are only seeing pepe coin now trending, we don't know which one next, maybe by the the present ones would have also been out in place must as those before them, so whenever you are investing on NFTs, have it at the nack of your mind that it's a risk taking idea ad it's fifty fifty, you can also do your own research in finding more about them.

Here's the thing, there's no guarantee if you win pvp mode in trading, which what trading memecoins mostly is, but what the guide guarantees is you won't get trapped by honey pots.  Honey pots are those ones when you can buy the token but you can't sell the token...  A total scam.  And it sucks because you feel like a dumb mfker.  Cheesy

Another thing is it's a game of liquidity.  If the developer locked over 90% of liquidity like what I think PEPE did, that at least shows that the token might not be a rug.

I am more excited about Pereira vs Blachowicz fight. This is second time Polish power is fighting guys, champions in a way, from middle weight. Izzy did not look good when he fought Jan. It was even a one sided fight, where Blachowicz threw Izzy on the ground like a kitten (not the kitten @YuginKadoya gets excited about Cheesy). In that fight Izzy did not manage to show his super striking. Now it is Pereira turn to face Blachowicz and imho he has more chances to win. Not because Blachowicz became older, slower and etc, but because Pereira is a heavy hitter.

In hindsight Adesanya was too small for 205.  Pereira on the other hand could prolly be just right for 205 as he was obviously huge for 185.  He got chin checked by Adesanya prolly because he was dehydrating himself too much due to weight cutting.

And Pereira isn't just a heavy hitter, Błachowicz is kinda chinny imho.  So it'll go down to the wrestling.  Błachowicz has decent TD's, question is if Pereira could defend them.

Lets watch how Conor gonna perform against Chandler by the end of current TUF show (if they gonna fight at all, because Conor did not fight Urijah Faber in TUF 22 finals). Either we see a return, followed probably by a fourth fight against Poirier, or Chandler would knock him out cold and Conor would retire. Btw, anyone knows if Conor still have number of fighter under contract, or his contract is so unique that he might fight anytime and anyone he wants?

Does McGregor still have clout as a UFC fighter?  I feel like there's no interest in him anymore.

Anyway, just a couple of bets for the event this weekend.  Buckley - Hernandez parlay at 2.07 and an underdog shot at Johnson at 2.25.
1166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Assess a Memecoin and Not Get Scammed ;) on: May 18, 2023, 12:38:07 PM
Still lucky for you mate because we are only talking about 200 bucks here and not so big that you cannot afford to lose.
while I have experience the same back in the years when i staked my tokens in a gambling site that turns out that after staking your funds will be left inside and no way to withdraw .
now it is getting clearer from your post that this is truly happening even in new generation projects such as Meme coins.
thanks that I will never get involved into this one.

Heh yup!  The thing is to treat memecoins for what they are...  Buying in for some amount you're comfortable with and see how it goes, aka gambling.  Lol.  There's really no way to know if they're gonna still be there after a couple of weeks or so.  But as they get more established, that's a different story.  I'm talking more about those new ones that just got listed in places like Uniswap and hasn't seen a day of existence.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

They degen way.

But I think PEPE is slowly establishing itself to be considered somewhat safe to hold for a couple of months assuming you have a good entry.
1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2023 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: May 18, 2023, 12:27:51 PM
I think it is the right decision.

Damn...  I hope everybody's doing ok over there.  And even if the place isn't in an emergency, if there's going to be a lot of rain, I think it's better not to let the fans waste their time, money and the effort of travelling to the venue just to sit there and get wet with the FIA not allowing the drivers to race.  It happened at Spa I think a couple of years ago and there were also a couple of other races.  Not worth it imho.

Anyway, I guess we're off straight to Monaco.  Verstappen should win it without any shenanigans from Perez.  Grin
1168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FOOTBALL: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 on: May 18, 2023, 12:19:36 PM
It would have been almost impossible to have gone with a 4-0 win for Manchester City before the game started but yes congratulations to them. They are in the final again but are going up against Inter Milan who beat AC Milan 3-0 on aggregate.

I would not be surprised if Inter Milan win the final against Manchester City even they would be deemed to be underdogs by most bookmakers.

Edit:  I'm a dumb idiot.  Congrats to City.

Yup it seemed like it was gonna be a close match just basing it on the first leg and to some extent on paper.  But I don't follow the La Liga and I have no idea on what trajectory Real's momentum was before the match.  They prolly had a couple of tough matches before travelling to Manchester?  They all looked slow, fatigued, tired out there and never really had anything, any threat against Guardiola's squad.
1169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 18, 2023, 12:11:03 PM
Has anyone already seen UFC 291 announced fight card? This event all chances to beat PPV record end become an event of the year. https://www.ufc.com/event/ufc-291. Almost, simply almost every main card fight is a big fight worth watching. I am amazed to see Tony Ferguson again. I thought he was a free agent right now. He has lost last of his 5 fights. And now he is fighting Bobby Green. a

You know the next event has really nothing to get excited about when the guys itt are talking about other UFC events.  Cheesy  It's true tho, so couldn't really blame anybody.

But yeah, that's a stacked card from top to bottom so far!  We also got Alex Pereira's debut in 205 vs Jan Błachowicz.  Smiley

Stephen Thompson vs Michel Pereira could be good too.  I think not a banger but good.

Edit:  No betting market up for 291 yet.  Curious how the books will line Thompson vs Pereira.  I'm thinking Thompson could open around 2.35 and Pereira around 1.65 or something.

That goal attempt by Haaland that was denied by Courtois at the 12th minute or so...  It's a bad omen.  Sorry City backers but I think you guys are gonna lose your money.

It's all City in the first half but Real Madrid is gonna pick up the pace and get one 'lucky' goal in and that's all it's gonna take to take them to the final.  Real Madrid win 0 - 1  Grin Grin

Edit:  ANOTHER ONE!  Bad omen for City...
1171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FOOTBALL: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 on: May 17, 2023, 06:58:26 PM
Here we go guys...  Match starts in around 5 minutes.  The real final match of the UCL.  Lol.  I think we will witness something hilariously funny.  Cheesy Cheesy  My money is on the draw no bet for Real Madrid at 4.05.  I'm not really sure why the books and the sharps are discounting Ancelotti and his boys here.  I'm betting we're seeing a master class for the Spanish club.

Then again, I could look like a dumb idiot.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Edit:  I'm a dumb idiot.  Congrats to City.

As I've already admitted my mistake in the next great 1000x thread, it's not dogs that's gonna make huge gains this time around...  It's gonna be frogs.  Wink

So I guess next great 1000x will possibly happen for NFT's too?

Just dropping a bit of info to help you guys from making a dumb mistake like I did.  :/  I bought around 200 bucks worth of some memecoin which turned out to be what they call a honey pot...  Meaning you could buy it but you're not able to sell it.  Lolol.

This info is mostly for Ethereum users but pretty sure other L1 users would find it useful.

Anyway here are the ways to avoid making the same mistake...

1.  Find out more about the project's token in https://honeypot.is/

It basically checks if the token is a honey pot.

2.  Check if the liquidity is locked.  PEPE got as big as it got because traders tend to trust a token if its liquidity is locked.

The easiest way to do this is by going to the token's page at https://www.dextools.io/ and look at the token's label called  'Total liquidity'.  If it doesn't have a green lock then it isn't locked.  Stay away.

3.  Go to the token's page in https://dexscreener.com/ and look at the buys and the sells.  If it's mostly just buys with just a couple of sells, that's most likely a honey pot.

4.  Go look at the token's holders tab at https://etherscan.io/

The more concentrated most of the supply is to just a few holders, the more likely it's gonna be dumped.

5.  Another important thing is to check in https://etherscan.io/ is if the contract is verified.  In the token's contract page there's a tab called contract.  If it has a green check then it's verified.

Stay safe out there.

If you guys have more to add, feel free to post them itt.  Thanks.

Edit:  Typos.

Looks like we're going to have a rainy one this weekend Grin

Ah good...  Could make for an interesting race.  And Verstappen drives well under wet conditions and so does Alonso and somewhat Hamilton.  I guess we see these three on the podium come Sunday?  Grin

And I guess there's a higher chance for Alonso to get the fastest lap than what the line suggest..?  He's lined at 8 for fastest lap rn.  What do you guys think?

^  Sucks cos we won't be seeing him fight Jon Jones.  :/  I still think Ngannou has a good chance to finish Jones.  Why can't the UFC just pay the guy a one fight deal vs Jones for 10 million or something.  Sigh...

Anyway after making my picks for the Multi Master I think the next event could be a sleeper banger.  I found myself predicting 8 matches to finish inside the distance.  Lol.  Picked Dern for the main event but could go Hill's way since it's a 5 rounder.

Brighton is really defending well and managing to keep most of the possession. It's going to be a nervous 2nd half for Arsenal - this is a must win game for them.

City still have Chelsea and Brighton - but if Arsenal doesn't get 3 points today it's all over.

Yup...  I'm pretty sure everybody itt already had a strong feeling it was over when Arsenal had three draws straight, indicating that the pressure was onto them, there was player fatigue or both.  Then they lost vs City which says it's over.  Prolly not mathematically over, but it's over.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Their latest loss seals the deal.  It's like when you're trading a memecoin and you're hoping for a bounce until you accept that it isn't gonna bounce and you capitulate.  Lolol.

Well i think now FIA really need to take care about this issue. What issue? The tyre life.

Man, we have no strategy on the race, the compounds are really hard and lasts until the entire race without dropping so much in term of performance.

Verstappen yesterday only pit, because you have to do at least one pit stop by the rules. But also one pit stop its really low, and now that its the normal.

Pit stops and strategy are one of the most beautifull parts of the F1 without them its also more easy for a dominant car to win.

And why not get the Q2 fastest lap tire rule back again.  It adds for some interesting tire strategies during quali in anticipation for the start of the race.

I have been hearing about some changes to be made by FIA in the future. But I haven't heard anything about tyre strategies yet. Instead FIA have some plans to reduce the weight of cars by making them smaller at the same time. They are aiming to make races more watchable than ever as we would see many more overtakes in number.

I believe that this is one of the positive steps they can take for the sake of Formula 1. However this means that Red Bull drivers can overtake others even easier than before also.  Grin

But even if they dominate the sport at least races can get more enjoyable to watch for us.

Not really...  It makes for a boring season.  I haven't really paid a lot of attention for F1 as I know it's gonna be another year for Red Bull.  What F1 needs is a tough rivalry just like the one we had during 2021 between Verstappen and Hamilton.  It brings some spice.  Overtakes won't matter if we already know it's another easy win for RBR imho.
