Can we have all potential airdrops in one thread and rank them from best to worst.  I feel like many of them wouldn't be worth our time and it would be good to make everybody aware if so and leave it to the reader if he still wants to farm the airdrop.

I don't wanna rank them because I'm not sure about them either lol, I don't think anyone is, because it's all random state of affairs, sometimes airdrops you faded cause you thought it's not worth then it turns out big (happened to me with Jito).

Quote
There's also another one that I've stopped participating in as I'm starting to feel it's just a waste of my time.  I'm talking about the Venom testnet.  I feel like it's a scam...  What do you guys think?

Venom is done, look at this [1].

[1] https://talkimg.com/image/IoVMP

Yeah but we need to rank them to the best of out abilities and show them to everybody discuss about.  We could find the next Jito this way.  Wink

Anyway, I think one of the best ways to know if a project's airdrop could be worth it or not is if there are VC's that made a hefty investment in the project.  Who their devs are is another thing to look out for.  If the dev team is composed of guys who were part of a legit and popular procotol's core dev team then it could be worth our time.

And finaly, the community...  If it's getting more traction then all the more it should go up the list.

With Venom, you just feel everything is fake and botted the moment you enter their Discord.  I left after a week.

I mistakenly thought that the airdrop from Arbitrium was the largest in recent years, but it turned out that 3 more airdrops were larger than it. Of course, compared to the rest, Uniswap's airdrop of more than $6 billion looks unattainable today.

Yeah saw that...  I'm lucky enough to be eligible in Arbitrum's airdrop as it was totally unexpected for me.  I didn't even think about a lot about airdrops until I got in one.  Cheesy  Now I'm like checking out some protocols and find out if it's worth it in trying to be eligible.  I think most of them aren't really worth it.  I'm kinda waiting for Layer Zero and if I'm  not eligible then I move on and focus on Monad.  I think their testnet will be online around Jan or Feb next year.

There's also a couple of AI projects that could be worthwhile for airdrops.  Gensyn and Ritual.  You need a rig to participate tho.  They need people to supply them with computing power for their AI and ML testnets.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: December 28, 2023, 01:06:06 PM
These are how the games ended:

Newcastle United 1-3 Nottingham Forest
Bournemouth 3-0 Fulham
Sheffield United 2-3 Luton Town
Burnley 0-2 Liverpool
Manchester United 3-2 Aston Villa

With a new manager at Nottingham Forest, they went to Newcastle and won the game 1-3. Liverpool are definitely finishing the season in the top four because the way they are playing they seem unstoppable. I am sure they will finish above Arsenal therefore could be champions.

From being outplayed and being 0-2 down at half-time to Aston Villa, somehow Manchester United came out in the second half as though they were a different team. They won the game 3-2. Well done to Luton Town again, the Premier League new boys have won back to back games.

@JollyGood there’s rumour that Howe job is under threat due to yesterday’s loss and I feel that it’ll be absolutely sad if after all the work he’s done he gets the sack now. Lastly Ten Hag survives for now because the new owner clearly wasn’t happy with his transfers so it’s a welcome change that the player’s fought for him and managed to secure 3 vital points.

Can you post where you got the rumor from?  I think it's too early to start thinking about giving Eddie Howe the sack imho.  And if it's the match vs Nottingham Forest that caused the oilers to think about getting rid of him then they should think again.  Newcastle is mired with injuries and if anything they should be giving their manager a big transfer budget for the January transfer window!

And their still rebuilding the club after decades of nothing.  Finishing top 4 in the league and getting in the CL is quite a feat considering with the players they have.

Edit:  Typos.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 28, 2023, 12:56:34 PM
The reason Conor McGregor become successful is that he was winning fights after his trash talks. He was trash talking but was backing up his words every time, that attracts lots of attention. By the way, trash talk was helping him. I remember, Dustin Poirier said in one interview that it was easy to fight Conor when he wasn't trash talking and was calm. By trash talking, Conor goes into their head and makes them nervous, pressures more on them, it's a huge psychological advantage, that's why he won against Jose Aldo.

In the past, McGregor could really play his role as the antagonist in every story in the UFC. And he also had a very good skillset in his prime. As you said, trashtalk and the ability to win fight after trashtalk really made McGregor a big star. People who hate him for his trashtalk hope the big mouth will lose. And the people who support him really like Conor's confidence and intimidation. So that would bring in a huge PPV with whoever Conor fights. That's why some say that fighting against Conor is a jackpot.

But that's just a story from the past. I think the current Conor is no longer The Notorius we know. His long absence from the UFC after winning the championship belt and his tragic defeat against Khabib made Conor with his trash talk truly become trash.

Chandler is also capable of playing a good role in the UFC as well. But unlike Conor, I think Chandler is really able to build enthusiasm from the fans with his extraordinary literary abilities. This can be seen how Chandler is able to play his role as a villain and a good guy at various times very well.

It more like McGregor was a breath of fresh air at the time with his style of getting people more excited during the build up of the events he was in.  But it kinda got old really fast after he fought Nate Diaz and lost.  That's when he started being more annoying than funny.  I mean it was still entertaining, but I could do away without it tbh.

Now it's like when somebody tries to copy McGregor's style, it's sooo cringe.  Like Ian Garry Machado for example...  Lol.  :/  They should come up with their own style and be themselves up there.  They can't just copy somebody else's personality and project it like it's theirs.

^  I doubt Nottingham Forest could get away with a point vs Newcastle United away.  Newcastle are pretty solid at home with only one loss and just 4 goals conceded.  It's more than likely that the away team is fcked in this spot.

As for Man City, yeah...  Getting into top 4 is more competitive this season with Tottenham and Aston Villa vying for spots than last season with Man United and Newcasle vying for top 4 imho.  But we'll see.  If City could keep it close from the top, they could still get back in form and snag another one.

You jinx it ! Nottingham Forest is already thrashing them from a goal down, and it's only 60' minutes more 30mis to wreak havoc, and to think it's Newcastle United's (if they lose) 4th loss from 5 league games is insane, they had one of the solid defences earlier this season, but now they are just as porous and bad as Chelsea's defence.

What's the excuse now? Shar, Burn and Botman are all back from injury.

Another game to drop some mBTC on is Luton against Sheffield united @3.0 Odd.

LOL!  I know...  I quit watching the match after Newcastle got a goal via penalty.  I was totally surprised to see it end a 1 - 3 win for Nottingham Forest.  But yeah, that post made me look like a total idiot.  -_-

And Aston Villa vs Man United too at Old Trafford.  Sometimes you just shouldn't fade United in these spots, maybe except vs clubs like Liverpool and Man City.

Note to self, don't bet if there isn't much value like Newcastle -1 and if you know there's a chance that opponent could tough it out and eek out a win like Man United at Old Trafford.  :/
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 27, 2023, 12:09:43 PM
Big muscled did not help Costa in a fight against Izzy or Vettori. Btw this is the second time Costa and Whittaker are going to fight. First fight was cancelled due to Costa. Costa has also cancelled fights against Chimaev, Aliskerov, Cannonier and if not mistaken, first fight with Rockhold was also cancelled. Does not look like he is a man who UFC could rely on. And if I am not confusing something, he cancels his fight quite late, week or two before the fight. People laugh and say that this is the way he saves his record.

Some sources claim that Costa had two previous fights with Whittaker cancelled, not one, but not sure if that's true.
Some of the pullouts you've mentioned were justified, e.g. Aliskerov, where UFC wanted Costa to fight Chimaev instead. Some other ones were, allegedly, cancelled due to contract disagreements, in such case, it's entirely UFC's fault to announce a fight before a contract is signed. The last one was due to injury, he posted photos, so I don't think he made it up.

The risk of Costa pulling out again is minimal. He needs to fight to stay relevant.
I give Whittaker more chances, but it could be an even fight.

Anyhow, Merry Christmas from Paolo Costa:

https://twitter.com/BorrachinhaMMA/status/1739366911652004275

^  That pic really him or is it just a meme or something?  Cheesy  If that's really him, he looks like he's not been letting go and has been keeping is weight n check.

-snip-
But with Costa as big as he is, he could prolly stop the blitz Whittaker does like how DDP did it.  Dunno but DDP might have exposed Whittaker and showed everybody the blue print in how to bear him.  If the books give something like Costa at 2.75 or something, it's almost forcing you to make the value bet with the underdog as there are are not lots of queston marks about Whittaker after getting totally dominated.

Whittaker never experienced a loss like that before, I don't think.  :/

But on the other Costa has had a long lay off, so that's prolly gonna work against him.  He's had weight cut issues before.  Lol.  Let's see how he looks a week before 298.

If Robert Whittaker is a guy who doesn't do the same thing all over again or a guy who is learning in his every fight but maybe Paulo Costa can catch his blitz, for sure I will still go with Robert Whittaker, on this fight, as it doesn't really matter if you have a great body like Costa or Vettori as for Whittaker I think I will go with his striking for this fight, and I never trust Paulo Costa at all and if he will not cancel and make some weird excuses again,

As always, it will depend on line value.  If the books line Whittaker at 1.50 or lower, could we really trust him at that price tag and after he was exposed by DDP?  I think there will def be better spots in the event esp if you can't or won't take the underdog.

McGregor is one of the few fighters still fighting on the UFC stage when currently most of it is filled with new fighters who are more hungry for the title. But I will still look forward to The Notorius' fight because as we know, apart from being good at fighting, I think Conor is the greatest fighter in bringing the fighting atmosphere in the direction he wants. He is so great at controlling the stage at press conferences either with his style or his trashtalk. But in the last few fights, he was the same as Colby, where for me his trashtalk was too much because it brought up religion and personal matters. BTW, is it true that Conor will fight at UFC 300?

Those Trash talks are not going to be helpful inside the Octagon, even if he surely is a great fighter and good at the press conference that could get the fight on hype, it is all that Conor McGregor can do and nothing more, and his strength for sure is all in the past his bulk body is just lie, it is just used to intimidate his sparring and training videos are just for show, you can clearly see all McGregor is after was the hype and money for the UFC 300, he will surely do anything, he is just a fighter in the past but if his opponent would be Michael Chandler I think I will go with Chandler for sure,
The reason Conor McGregor become successful is that he was winning fights after his trash talks.

That's not gonna work anymore tho.  Lolol.

And if you're looking into some projects that are still in development, start looking into Monad.  It could be a good one imho.

I'm not sure what exactly are we to do with nomad, what do you suggest?

For now as there's no testnet yet, I guess just get into the project's discord and vibe with the community.  I think it's best to get the nads role as I think you should have that role to get into testnet which also gets you eligibility to their airdrop.  I'm not sure tho.  Just from the looks of it, that could be it as I noticed not everybody could get the nads role.

I hope go get it soon if I get lucky enough.  And if ever I get eligibility in their airdrop, I'm gonna be a Monad maxi for the rest of 2024 and 2025.  Grin  I think it's gonna be a huge project that could surprise everybody.  I hope...  Lol.  If not it's gonna be like my Tezos bet again from back in the day.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

429  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 26, 2023, 01:15:08 PM
^  With the sell down that just went on a few hours ago, the daily chart shows that BTC has somewhat found some resistance against a local high point it had at December 8.  But then again for what we're trying to do for this thread, the monthly chart shows BTC is up around a tad over 13% which isn't really bad at all.

And the weekly isn't really looking that bad from an optics' point of view which could mean we're in for another leg up...  So yeah, pick your poision and hope for the best.  Stay safe out there guys.

Yup and Costa has had a couple of weight cut issues in the past.  I guess it would depend what version of Costa turns up during an event.  If it's a motivated and laser focused Costa, he could win vs Whittaker esp now that DDP has showed that the blitzes Whittaker does could be stopped.

But I'll still lean Whittaker just cos he's been the more active fighter.  Wouldn't bet it at anything lower than a coinflip tho.  The books will prolly line Whittaker around 1.75 or something.  Dunno...

I only see Costa as a mindless overgrown fighter who surely is not very technical while Robert Whittaker has closed the deal with Marvin Vettori so for sure Robert Whittaker will be the favorite in this fight and I can surely tell about that if Paulo Costa still decides to fight that is he could withdraw from the fight any minute but let's just wait for further announcements,

Bukayo scoring at Anfield 100%. Given you a free pick right there. !

Can we get our money back after 100% tip does not pass ?  Grin

Just kidding of course, did not even follow you with the pick. Salah was the only one I would ever choose in that game. 4 correct for me so far this week, feel a bit hard done to not get point for Watkins but Fulham game i wouldn't get correct even with 5 picks.

Same.  Just 4 correct picks.  At least I get my season's correct picks to 33/100.  Grin  It gives me the illusion that I could still make it.  Grin

So...  Which players does everybody have for this round's Majestic 7?  Me I got Callum Wilson, McBurnie, Ollie Watkins, Wissa, Alvarez, Son and Jesus.  Fade or follow, it's up to you.  But I gotta say these picks feel extra special this week.  The same special feeling I got a couple of weeks ago when I got zero correct picks.  Cheesy  GL guys!

Anyway what are everybody's leans for this round's fixtures?  At first glance I like Newcastle -1 at 1.78, Bournemouth ML at 2.20 and Aston Villa draw no bet at 1.86...  What do you guys think?
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 25, 2023, 12:23:49 PM
Paulo Costa and Robert Whittaker on UFC 298 is going to be a nice present for UFC fans. On one hand I am happy to see those two. I have started to miss Robert, and havent seen Costa for a long time. Power vs accuracy striking. On the other hand, Costa probably has already set a record of cancelled fights. I will remind that his last 3 fights he has cancelled due to different reasons. For me Costa is someone you cant rely on.

Ferrari announced a new car for 2024.

It will be not a progression of the 2023 car as usually happens.

It will be a new brand project.

Nice!  I'm very excited on all different levels from good to bad, from serious to hilarious, from rooting for them to rooting against them.  Whatever it may be...  Ferrari can't really be ignored.  Grin

I mean I think it's funny when the team fumbles the bag for a race or two.  But for Leclerc's sake, please give him a competitive car this time.  The team promised to give him one starting at 2024 when he signed a new 5 year contract.  Let's hope it won't be 5 years of memes.

Some match up announcements from the UFC and they're all great.  But what stands out are Brian Ortega vs Yair Rodriguez rematch.  Ortega had a weird shoulder injury during the first fight so it's good if the run it back.

I also like Robert Whittaker vs Paulo Costa.  They were supposed to fight last April but Costa had to back out due to some illness.  I think this match up could be something like Whittaker's match up vs DDP.  The result could be different tho.  Let's see what kind of improvements Whittaker made for the match.

This next one should've been made a year ago...  Prochazka vs Rakic.  Looks like they're evenly matched imho.  Leaning towards the Rakic side tho.

I have to agree about Emery, just look at what effect it can have on an average team in the Premier League if they have a manager with years of experience and a mentality to win European trophies. Compared to what Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea spend on players on a regular transfer window, Emery has been brilliant in his job as Aston Villa manager on a smaller budget.

As for West Ham vs Manchester United, I am expecting West Ham to win the game. Their manager David Moyes will be looking forward to this game as he was sacked from his position as Manchester United manager after just 10 months. The bookies have to favour a West Ham win because Manchester United are playing atrocious football.

@JollyGood I was just reading about Emery talking how the team has reached here and it got me thinking that the new Manchester United owners should take a note of his success and steal him from Villa because we need someone like him to change how we play football. Lastly it won’t be surprising anymore if Manchester United lose because Ten Hag has the backing of the management they just won’t sack him and rest player’s will collect their wages as usual so I’m not even keeping my hopes up of a victory for Manchester United anymore.

Loool nooo not Emery.  Please leave the guy alone and not let him get near any EPL club that's named Man United and Chelsea.  There's really something wrong going on in the back room of those two clubs.  It's almost like they're cursed.  It's like Liverpool, even they had to go through a lot of sht after Fenway Sports Group took over the reigns.  And FSG knows how to manage sports franchises as they have shown in their success with the Boston Red Sox.

And what United really needs is a manager that could rebuild the club.  They don't need somebody to get them back to title contention.

I keep seeing all these social media posts saying that McGregor is going to fight in UFC 300. Is this official yet? I thought the news wasn’t released yet but I’m seeing a lot of Conor McGregor at UFC 300 posts… I hope we do get to see him fight sooner than later. He isn’t exactly getting any younger and seems to be switching his focus to politics.

McGregor at the fight roster for UFC 300 is fine...  I mean he's still a draw so why not.  But McGregor headlining UFC 300 would be a fcked up decision by the UFC.  But dunno, it's just McGregor hasn't agreed in signing up for a match unless he's the main event.  We'll see if that changes for UFC 300, if he really is in the roster.  But if he agrees to fight but not be the main event then I guess that's the time when we're seeing McGregor's luster starting to dim imho.

We've already seen a few athletes redeem themselves after a downfall but I don't think McGregor will be one of them.  In a young man's sport like MMA, it's too late for him.

Speaking of this topic, I'm not sure if everyone is following the Cardano ecosystem, but I understand the issue making it less FOMO at the moment when other ecosystems are getting major attention, But it is also possible that it will receive a lot of attention during the future price increase period. Basically, this ecosystem has too many shortcomings, but their great potential is something that I think should not be missed.

I know about https://www.cardanocube.io/ , where we can follow what's being developed, if you know of something better then you can suggest it, and also look forward to receiving more information about other projects outside of the ecosystem this attitude.

Mmmmm...  I know I should be more open minded and shouldn't try to fade anything during a time when the altcoin market is in preparation mode for a full on bull market, but Cardano seems like it's dead to the community of DeFi users.  Dunno...  It's just the people I know don't really talk about it or view it at high regard.  I think the newer chains have more chances of success than Cardano.  And among then older chains I think Fantom is way too undervalued.

And if you're looking into some projects that are still in development, start looking into Monad.  It could be a good one imho.
