Lol...  Looking at all of your posts, I guess the next event isn't really that great in terms of match up interest and name value?  Cheesy

It's true tho, there aren't any names that could pique our interest from a pure fan's perspective except for maybe a couple.  But there are low key, good match ups in there like Allen vs Silva, Magny vs Rowe is intruiging, Taira vs Rodrigues could end in an upset and the main event should be a banger.

But you guys know what's gonna suck?  The next event.  Grin  Can't blame you guys if you skip it.
1042  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 21, 2023, 12:52:45 PM
Locked the poll as I think we have somewhat captured the ruling 'sentiment of the month' of the people who goes in this thread, which at the first couple weeks of the month, I mostly really agree with...

Now I think sentiment will slowly change to bullish the more BTC claws its way higher and slowly fights its way thru 30k - 32k resistance.  If it breaks out, I think we're looking at 36k - 37k resistance next.

Austria is where Red Bull practice and take test runs on to their own home track for the off-season.
Last season Max was in a sea of orange smoke and I can't see it being any different this time around.
Maybe it'll rain this time in Austria.
So far, we haven't seen any rain in Austria as I can remember, which is quite surprising, considering rain is pretty common in the Alps, where Spielberg is located. Similar like Belgium, rain can come up in a very short time and if rain is coming up, it'll be heavy.
Might be an interesting race, especially the last corner and the corners after 1st (uphill) and 2nd (downhill) long straight. Personally, I'll hope for rain.

So, maybe we won't see any orange smoke due to rain.
We might know later.  Tongue

The thing is Verstappen is pretty fast under wet track conditions too.  But yeah, I also hope it rains as prolly the best three drivers on the grid who work best in the rain are Alonso, Hamilton and Verstappen.  There are prolly a couple or so more guys but those three stick out.

Anyway, does anybody else feel like Perez won't be given another extension on his contract?  It ends next year after 2024 season.  I think Ricciardo will be driver no. 2 at RBR at 2025.
1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 21, 2023, 12:21:42 PM
There are two fights on Saturday tomorrow that interest me at stake even though the Odds are still below my expectations but it is very likely that victory can be obtained later.
I support two fighters namely Cody Brundage in the Middleweight class and also Tatsuro Taira who is in the flyweight class.
For Tatsuro Taira himself, it looks like he can easily get victory and the record of wins and titles he has is truly epic.

Parlay the first two matches of the event and see what goes from there if it wins right?  Wink  That's what I usually do too, tho if it was me I'm gonna go with Brundage and fight doesn't go the distance for the other match.  The only concern, Brundage is on a two fight skid.  But he should win as the other guy has an almost nonexistent TD defense.

Another concerning thing is the line for Taira.  It's too wide imho.  Rodrigues could knock him out for all we know as his chin hasn't really been tested yet.

~snip~

Anyway, what do you guys think of Hamilton to finish on the podium at 2.10?  Mercedes might have made a breakthrough in car development.

Now I see this odd as 3.00 and he is sharing the same odd with Leclerc to go for podium. Honestly it would be worth giving a shot. In FP2, Mercedes drivers seemed really fast and took the first and second places. FP3 was way different though but the track condition wasn't the same. On a wet track Mercedes drivers couldn't be effective enough.

Maybe this is a sign that Mercedes drivers may not be able to have a good placement in the race if we have a wet track during most part of the race. But of course it is still an FP session so it is better not to be very confident about such thing. If it rains during the race this track can be much more challenging for the drivers. I think we can see many DNFs.

I should've waited before making the bet then.  Cheesy  But I don't mind, it was just a small bet for fun so I'd be entertained to watch the race.  But then I ended up not watching it as I had a couple of friends who wanted to meet up for some drinks.  Lol.

2023 F1 Austrian GP Schedule
Friday 30 June  Practice 1  13:30-14:30
Friday 30 June  Qualifying  17:00-18:00
Saturday 1 July  Sprint Shootout  12:30-13:30
Saturday 1 July  Sprint  16:30-17:30
Sunday 2 July  Race  15:00

^  A little change of pace.  There's a sprint race.  Smiley  I don't mind the new format as much anymore.

Anyway, early lines have Verstappen to win at 1.29.  :/
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 20, 2023, 12:55:43 PM
There are reports that Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber. He is a very good player and a lot of clubs have been on him for a while now. But I doubt if Arsenal can quietly seal off his deal, because Arsenal are always sluggish with their transfers and I hope they learn from last season. Because deals like this Timber need to be closed quickly. Unlike Rice that has clearly told everybody that it’s Arsenal or nothing. Timber can change his mind anytime or Ajax can invite other clubs to bid as well so they can sell to the highest bidder. Arsenal shouldn’t waste time on this particular one.
Arsenal has been in the news very regular this season on transfer markets. I wonder what Arteta wants to achieve. It is fine that he reinforce his team but he should not make so many changes in his team in order not to disturb his team.
That squad is very good to play any kind of football. The likes of
Saka,
Odegaard,
Thomas,
Jesus,
If he reinforces the team well, he will be able to bench some of his star players for some matches.

I think for the coming season he needs to splash the cash for one or a couple of really good players.  What Arteta did with the squad he has at his disposal could be a fluke and could not be repeated again next season.  Think about Liverpool, Chelsea with Poch and Man United...  Will they underperform like they did last season?  I don't think so.  Arsenal had a good opportunity to win the league and it's not going to happen again for a little while unless they spend.

And it would be unfair for the players if Arteta expects them to overperform like they did last time.  That thing is taxing and next season it's time to collect.  Arsenal could finish 6th.

^   And Emmet is getting old, if not just plain old for a fighter in his weight class at 39.  Lower weight classes can't get away with what the heavy weights can get away with in terms of getting over 35.

And Emmet has taken a lot of damage in his career.  I wouldn't be surprised if Topuria knocks him out around R3...

Anyway, this event looks more like a parlayable one with most of the favorites possibly getting the W.

UFC Free Fight:  Emmet vs Burgos

For me, at 38 years old Josh Emmett still has it in him, well not a slick movement but still you can really not underestimate Josh Emmett if it comes to brawls and if a fighter is a likely brawler and is not really aiming for that technicality of the fight Josh Emmet could win this but against Ilia Topuria it is a different story Ilia Topuria is a different kind of beast for sure when it comes to fighting IQ the level of Yair Rodriguez will be upon him and the durability of Yair will be upon him for sure, and it is never a surprise if Topuria Knocks Emmett up because that is what I likely as expecting,

Yup.  Topuria is a future title challenger.  Is Emmet still at top 5?  If Topuria wins he could be in the conversation.

Tbh I didn't think Topuria was that good until I saw him fight Bryce Mitchell, who is another top prospect, was undefeated at the time, good at wresting and GnP and he's durable.  Yet Topuria made him look like just another lowly opponent and finished him.

It could be Topuria inside the distance.  I wonder how much that line would be when props come out.

^  The thing that makes it true is if you're not early then 99% of the time, you won't get 1000x.  If the coin is already being promoted on Twitter then take it as a sign that you're late and be happy with the smaller gains that you'll be able to get from it.  It won't be the pipe dream but it's still a win.

But yeah...  Has anybody noticed the LADYS pump?  Up by a tad over 50% in just a couple of days or so.  But it's kinda hitting resistance rn, so prolly better to wait for a sell down before getting in.
ladys as far as I can remember got its good time because it just got shilled by elon and suddenly the rally arrive and the price going up like there's no tomorrow.
but as the time goes, once shills from elon subsides also gone the main and only driving force that helps driving the price goes up further.
it just this way with these meme coins in general and lately i've seen pattern that the newer meme coins that got shilled aren't necessarily gonna hold on for long.
at best its gonna last months and then went downhill ever since, i guess many realized that these meme coins aren't really sustaining.

Uh no, Elon shilling a Milady was a couple weeks ago..?  Unless there was a new more recent tweet I have no idea about.  But yeah, I hope you guys made a little something something with the memecoins I mentioned.  All of them were going up fast for just a couple of days except for a couple of them.  Got some out in stables and still waiting to rotate to the big kahuna PEPE if it starts moving.

If not memecoins, looking to make some trades on APT and SUI.  But dunno...  With the US session not looking so good rn, I feel like crypto is about to go red.

I just did a random pick for this round of F1 as I still believe we will have 1 chaos race and it seems that Canada might be that one.

Also , after Ferrari won LeMans , I went with Lec to get another podium , followed by a victory and 1-2 podium for Ferrari with both Max and Lewis having a DNF as I didn't take neither of them for top 10. Instead , I went with Perez to take 3rd place and also the fastest lap of the race. Grin Grin Grin

I did the same and didn't change my picks after quali...  But I got my best result in the pool thus far because of it.  Cheesy  I think I'll be doing just that from here on out.  I don't think I'll be fighting for the money spots anyway since I'm ranked 22th at the table.

Can't wait for the next races, Austria, Silverstone, Hungary then we go to Belgium!  I hope it doesn't rain in Belgium. Spa is prolly my favorite track of all time.

airdrops are so random if you eager to get that share of airdrop you should just try all of the airdrops that you think have potential.
and their tasks various too, if you want to get same rewards like arbitrum get yourself follow retroactive airdrop like many have mentioned.
Airdrops have always been kind of hit and miss but now they are more a miss than anything, personally I do not know why a person will still invest their time trying to claim airdrops, many years ago this was easy to do as in order to get an airdrop there was nothing for you to do, but now airdrops have all kind of requirements and in some cases those requirements are even a secret, so a person could waste a great deal of their time and still not qualify for the airdrop.

Yea this is true. It’s a lot harder to get a decent airdrop which can actually amount to something. Most of these new projects with airdrops go nowhere or they are complete scams to steal seeds or other info.

Years ago there was tons and tons of airdrops and you could make a good living just claiming them. These days you need to be very patient. Only decent ones coming out this year is Layer Zero and ZkSync. And the last good airdrop was Arbitrium which was a huge success.

Really?  I never realized there were a lot of airdrops from years ago.  What were the good ones?  I think I may have been missing out.  Lol.  The only airdrop that I've ever received was ARB.  And I didn't even expect anything even after minting the Odyssey NFT.  I just kept on using the stuff they had in Arbitrum for trading.

But all in all, airdrops are a good way to build up additional units for your bankroll, just focus on the good ones.

Thought this might be the time I actually watch a race, and then Euro qualifiers come around so I know where my priorities will continue to lie this weekend Wink

Giving up looking for good odds for a podium finish for an outsider. Someone give me a quick rundown on why Bottas is no longer considered a contender -- 250/1 for a podium place. I know he's switched down to an inferior car but are the differences in machines really so huge that good drivers stand no chance? Or is it a combination of Bottas also deteriorating?

He was never a contender...  Even when he was driving the best car right up there with Hamilton at Mercedes.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

He's just relatively an average driver, who's dependable and consistent.  But other than that, he's nothing special.  It's also exactly why Toto Wolff gave him Mercedes' second drive.  To just be the no. 2 driver, defend Hamilton and try to finish 1 - 2 every race.  It was all good for a couple of years until Bottas wanted to be champion himself.  Lol.  That's when the incnsistencies in his performance started to happen because he was getting emotional at times.

I wonder if we can see Verstappen in a Ferrari car in the future. There must be 4 or 5 years on his new contract now and I don't expect him to decide to leave Red Bull in this time period. Something big should just happen like Red Bull's dropping down from the title race for Verstappen to think of his future earlier. But I don't think such thing will happen that easy.

I think Verstappen stays as long as Horner stays with Red Bull.  Maybe if Horner goes to Ferrari and becomes their team principal, Verstappen couod follow.  Wink

The other influencial guy in Red Bull is their CTO Adrian Newey.  The guy is a genius designer and engineer.  Any team willbe lucky to have him...  But I think he's gonna retire in a couple of years or so.  There was a time when he demoted himself to a pure car designer role, giving signs of retirement and have less responsibilities with the team.  But later went back and had a more active role again.

Don't think Red Bull would be where they are today without Newey...  And Horner for that matter.  :/

Anyway, what do you guys think of Hamilton to finish on the podium at 2.10?  Mercedes might have made a breakthrough in car development.

^  And Cannonier is so strong that whenevever his opponents take him down, he could almost always find a way to get up.  Another thing is his opponents won't just try to take him down as they they'll get starched with one tiny mistake.  So from a risk reward point of view, it's prolly better not to try the take down.  Grin  But dunno...  From the looks of it, Vettori is stubborn af and he prolly knows his chin could take it.

After years of disappointment in airdrops of tokens that end up not being traded anywhere like Ethplode and Stabila, I missed on the Arbitrum airdrop, now I am looking for potential real good airdrops. It doesn't have to be in the thousands, a few real dollars are fine for the effort.
I hear zkSync and Venom can be big, I tried SUI but was unlucky to be late and they didn't really giveaway to that many people.
Please let's help each other with real good advice.

Just focus on tier 1 airdrops and avoid wasting your time on projects that will prolly go nowwhere.  So what are the tier 1 projects that have a chance to have an airdrop?  I think Layer Zero and zkSync should be your top two projects to participate in.  Use the protocols associated with them and do it with high volume if possible.

Other projects that could be included in tier 1 that could also do their own airdrops are Starknet and Polygon zkEVM.  Good luck.

But for me personally, I'm starting to poke around Arbitrum Nova.  I think blockchain gaming could make a come back and Nova will be a huge part of it.
1060  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 16, 2023, 12:27:06 PM
And I'm not really sure why you're saying support is at 23k because this is what I'm looking at...  25k or so was tested twice during August and Feb, before finally breaking out at March.  Now it seems like it has flipped back to being resistance.

It's because $23K is the volume support, whereas there isn't a lot of support volume between $24K and $26.5K. It's also very close to the 200 Day MA* currently around $22.5K that within the coming days will be at $23K. As you can see there is increasing volume support from $25K down to $23K, but similar to the correction in March, price came down to the peak of this volume support before reversing to the upside.

In summary, the same reason I was bullish about $20K acting as support, while others were fearing much worse prices, is more of the less the exact same reason why I see $23K acting as a support level. Arguably there is more chance of $23K acting as support than there was of $20K back in March, as back then the 200 DMA was barely rising, whereas now it's been in an uptrend for the past 3 months.

It's also partially due to the market mentally. Most were/are expecting $25K to act as support, somewhat similar to those who thought $22K/$23K would act as support back in March, whereas instead it failed. If most people expect old resistance to turn into new support it probably won't, especially with price effectively in a neutral zone between the 50 Day MA (declining bearish) and 200 Day MA (rising bullish).

Naturally I'd have a completely different opinion if for example the re-test of $25K was in line with some other support level, like the 50 Day MA, or otherwise the 200 Day MA, but this isn't the case. Old resistance on it's own turning into new support just seems unlikely to me, especially now the 200 WMA has broken. Whereas the confluence of support as described at $23K looks a lot more appealing to me.

Also the 50 Week MA has just started trending back upwards in the past few weeks for the first time in around 18 months and is priced around $22.5K. This is usually a defining factor or a confirmed trend reversal, similar to January 2022 when it flipped bearish, even if somewhat delayed. In summary, if $25K is the short-term support level, $22K to $23K is the long-term support level here.

*Had the wrong MA on that chart, it should have been the 200 which is currently at $23.7K (not 260 ie 5 year which is at $22.5K).

Ah right.  Maybe I should start looking at the volume too next time as mostly I've just been looking at the price action when looking for support, resistance and when they flip.

Is the blue and yellow area graph on the right all the liquidity in the order book?  Makes sense if it is.  But the thing is traders can pull their orders out anytime.  So I'd not put too much stock in it.

Anyway, yesterday's daily candle closed above 25k - 25.3k and it's holding today.
