181  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - COMPAC ($34.99) - R1 ($49.99) ANTMINER U3 ($44.99) on: December 02, 2015, 01:51:57 PM
I got my R1 set up and it's solo mining for me and controlling my U3 (237.5/0785).  So far so good, but one thing I am struggling with.  The only ip address I have is for the R1 and CryptoGlance sees it just fine, but how do I get CryptoGlance to see the U3?  When my U3 was hooked up to my computer I could assign it a port via the command line, but there does not appear to be anyway to do that with the R1, and so all I can see at the ip address is the R1 hash and stats.  How do I monitor the U3 in CryptoGlance?

It's using port 4029 for the U3 cgminer instance. I'm not familiar with cryptoglance, but it should have a port field, or you can specify port with a colon.  Ex: 192.168.1.1:4029

Interesting. I wonder if it can be implemented on Windows.

or how it can be on Linux ;p

Look through my posts in this thread.
185  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: November 29, 2015, 04:05:14 PM
I know, you've been very positive about the antrouter.

Except it doesn't fit my use of my U3 Smiley

Just as an aside here, and I like notlist3d am a great supporter of the R1 with CrazyGuy's firmware. The reason that the R1 does a good job is because of the Cron Job that runs & checks that the R1 or the U3 are hashing correctly and if not restarts cgminer. I suspect that this Cron Job or something similar could be run on any platform including the RPi?

Rich

But a stalled U3 needs to be physically replugged, doesn't it? Then how does this custom R1 fix it? Or is it possible to reset it by software?

notlist3d is the expert on this as I do not have a U3 but the Cron Job just restarts cgminer which in the case of the R1 get's things going again. I assume that the U3 is the same but let's see what he has to say?

Rixh

It restarts cgminer as well as restarts the udev device manager daemon. I think restarting the Linux device manager helps in preventing the need for replugging the usb.

189  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: November 26, 2015, 03:43:40 PM

i was thinking about compiling the newest openwrt.. im not sure tho if the basic package can be flashed right on the r1?

what firmware did you use?

I am running with CrazyGuy's firmware. I have done a couple of small changes, added more frequencies, re enabled the code that shows HW errors and used your Cron Job Script with my mods to work off the 5s GH/s and also logs to a file if there is a restart.

On the restarts I had 3 last night on the new R1, quite a bit less that the first one, however I am begining to wonder if that one without a case is picking up interference from other things I am doing?

Rich

is his firmware actually upgrade to openwrt or just lua changes??

im actually talking about moving from Barrier Breaker 14.07 to Chaos Calmer 15.05

It's just a patch, not actual compiled firmware. From what I've seen, there's no upgrade path, you have to compile a brand new image.
190  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: November 26, 2015, 06:15:22 AM
i asked in the sidehack support thread but nobody was able to help.. so ill try here
i  need an expert to help me.. i got cgminer-gekko working on the r1 and i modified the lua to work with the new cgminer-api.. but i have one problem i cant fix..

if you notice, #2 is twice.. always twice.. i dont know why.. here is my code.

Code:

function stats_u3()
   local api = {}
   local data = {}
   local summary = luci.util.execi("/usr/bin/cgminer-api -o edevs 127.0.0.1 4029 | sed \"s/|/\\n/g\" ")

   if not summary then
      return
   end

   for line in summary do
      for nam, val in string.gfind(line .. ',', "([^=,]+)=*([^,]*),") do
         api[nam] = val
      end
      if api['Device Elapsed'] then
         local elapsed = api['Device Elapsed']
         local str
         local days
         local h
         local m
         local s = elapsed % 60;
         elapsed = elapsed - s
         elapsed = elapsed / 60
         if elapsed == 0 then
            str = string.format("%ds", s)
         else
            m = elapsed % 60;
            elapsed = elapsed - m
            elapsed = elapsed / 60
            if elapsed == 0 then
               str = string.format("%dm %ds", m, s);
            else
               h = elapsed % 24;
               elapsed = elapsed - h
               elapsed = elapsed / 24
               if elapsed == 0 then
                  str = string.format("%dh %dm %ds", h, m, s)
               else
                  str = string.format("%dd %dh %dm %ds", elapsed, h, m, s);
               end
            end
         end
         data[#data+1] = {
            ['stats'] = api['ASC'],
            ['elapsed'] = str,
            ['ghs5s'] = tostring(math.floor(api['MHS 5s']+0.5) / 1000),
            ['ghsav'] = tostring(math.floor(api['MHS av']+0.5) / 1000),
            ['hw'] = num_commas(api['Hardware Errors'])
         }
      end
   end
   return data
end

i cant find anything in the code that would make #2 come up twice Sad

What's the return from this command when you run from the terminal?
Code:
/usr/bin/cgminer-api -o edevs 127.0.0.1 4029 | sed \"s/|/\\n/g\"

Also try just the first part before the pipe.
Code:
/usr/bin/cgminer-api -o edevs 127.0.0.1 4029

If they return data from 4 devices, then the issue is in cgminer-api. Not much you can do about that, besides truncating it with the lua functions.

If it returns 3, then the lua logic is messed up.

Quick question, can the R1s work as a wifi repeater?

I think it needs a hard connection to your modem or other router and then it can broadcast a wifi signal, but I do not believe it can receive a wifi signal and the repeat it out again like a signal booster (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Mine is kinda acting as a repeater, it has a Ethernet cord connected R1 and it put's out it's own wifi.   So if you run a cable you could put the R1 at end and have a AP going there.

If you mean connecting to wifi and then acting as AP.  I have not tried this.

You can use it as a wireless access point(Wifi to ethernet for s7, s5, s3) with a little tweaking but I don't believe it can take Wifi signal in and act as a WiFi hotspot at the same time as it would need two wireless interfaces.

Do you know if there are additional taxes when shipping to germany ... From former customers?

I'm not sure... If there are any taxes, they would be on the receiving side.

Over 24 hours by a decent amount. 3 U3's all running on 1 R1.  It is not having any zombie issues.  So far everything the new programming is able to fix.  Which truly is awesome.

Thank you for doing the custom firmware!  Truly this version is amazing.

That's great! Hopefully I'll have some time to work on compac support this weekend.
199  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - AntRouter R1 ($49.99) COMPAC ($34.99) - ANTMINER U3 ($44.99) on: November 03, 2015, 04:03:50 AM
If you have not upgraded to CFW 0.94 do it! I am truly amazed with it now like around 15+ hours with 3 miners and it's not had a zombie it could not recover.

Every day I reset zombies in morning when I woke up and when I went to bed.  I have to admit not having to do that with this was awsome.   This is the best U3 controller out there with the custom firmware.  Nothing I tried matched this.

Awesome! Glad it's working for you too. Haloween is over, stop worrying about zombies!
200  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - AntRouter R1 ($49.99) COMPAC ($34.99) - ANTMINER U3 ($44.99) on: November 02, 2015, 07:28:53 PM
CFW 0.94 has been uploaded for my customers.

The previous updates to cgminer-monitor were missing U3 zombies where the device was still showing as active through the API. I've reworked the function to compare "Last Valid Work" before and after a specific interval for all connected devices. This should catch and handle all zombies, and just in time for Halloween! The new monitor has kept my 3 U3s running without human intervention for the past 2 days.

This is really cool.  Without reading back more than a page I assume that this is done via the R1?  So if I order one from you it will come with this new version on it and be "plug and play"?  How is your stock looking?  I want to order one soon, but I'll pull the trigger sooner if stock is low.  Thanks.

Yes, there is an option on the purchase page to receive your R1 with CFW preloaded(No extra charge). Additionally, you will receive future firmware updates when available. I have plans to add Compac support and integrate ckpool for solo mining against your own local bitcoin node.

I will update the thread once I'm running low on stock.
